Gatton & District Historical Society Heritage Day

The day is part of the Lockyer Valley Heritage Festival and is in conjunction with Das Neumann Haus and Laidley Pioneer Village. The events are run completely separately and each has a different theme. Attractions happening at our Village between 9.00am and 3.00pm include:1. Working Blacksmith Shop2. Working Vintage Stationary Engines3. Huge Display of Quilts also Featuring Guest Speakers on Quilting4. Historic Truck Display including our 1912 English Dennis Truck and Gatton’s first Fire Engine5. Stationary Display of Vintage Tractors6. Our Museum open all day with Volunteers to answer questions7. All our Buildings open on the day including our 1890s House, Jail, Memorial Hall and tiny General Store8. Display of Vintage Wedding Dresses including a Black Lutheran Dress9. Market Stalls selling Vintage Items10. Working display of a Vintage Hay Baler11. Food stalls on site including Sausage Sizzle, Hamburgers, Coffee Van, Cold Drinks & Billy Tea and Damper Stall12. Introduction to Family History in our History Centre13. A Display and Presentation on the Gatton Murders of 1898.14. Karate Kids Display15. Entertainers on site all day Ample Car Parking with entry via Lake Apex Gate Monster Raffle drawn that day! Entry is by Donation
