Garry Conille, a UN development specialist, arrived in Haiti to assume his role as prime minister. He replaces interim prime minister Michel Patrick Boisvert amid surging gang violence. Conille previously served as Haiti's prime minister from 2011 to 2012 and was UNICEF's regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
