State Sen. Patrick M. Gallivan, R-Elma, sponsored a resolution (J.414) adopted by the New York State Senate proclaiming May 16-22, 2021, as Emergency Medical Services Week across the state. The observance is in conjunction with National EMS Week and honors the service of those who provide front line lifesaving treatment for New York residents. âAt a momentâs notice, EMS personnel respond to individuals suffering from sudden illness and injury and provide lifesaving care in communities across our state,â Gallivan said in a news release. âWhether they are career professionals or volunteers, these men and women undergo specialized training and continuing education to enhance their knowledge and skills in order to serve their neighbors. All New Yorkers should be thankful for the valuable, around-the-clock service they provide.â
