Just before 3:40 pm on Tuesday, October 25th, Galesburg Police responded to Steele School in the 1400 block of West Main Street for a disturbance among parents. A 43-year-old parent was arriving at the school for dismissal but had difficulty entering the parking lot due to a black SUV taking up a large portion of the entrance. After the man parked and was getting a child from the vehicle, the black SUV circled around and approached the man. A 38-year-old man exited the SUV and started yelling threats at the other man while he stood there holding his son. School employees confirmed with police the man in the black SUV was driving recklessly around the parking lot during dismissal. The school has had several issues with the 38-year-old man in the past for driving recklessly and yelling profanity at the school's front desk staff. Officers responded to the man's residence where he ultimately admitted to being the aggressor during the incident. The man was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
