Friends promise to give woman killed in Summerseat explosion 'the send off she deserves'

FRIENDS of a woman who was killed in an explosion in Ramsbottom are hoping people will the line the streets of her community when her funeral takes place this week.
Hazel Wilcock, 61, died when her house on East View in Summerseat collapsed following an explosion on February 17 this year.
Her body was found inside the wreckage of the mid-terrace property.
Hazel worked as a senior counsellor for St Ann's Hospice, who described her as a "much-loved and compassionate" colleague.
The Radcliffe-born woman had also worked as a social worker with deaf people in Blackburn.
Sharing Hazel's funeral details on Facebook, her friend Jemma Major, said: "Hazel’s funeral will be held on Thursday, March 11 and sadly due to current Covid restrictions, the majority of people who would have wanted to attend will not be able to.
