This is not survivorable the urgent warning we got from
Central Florida
officials to all the people living in
Hurricane Milton
s path. The
Evacuation Zone
involves
Six Million
people. And this storm is hours away now from colliding with floridas gulf coast. The impact has the potential to change the coastline. Our
Meteorologist Janice Dean
was saying it will do that. President biden and
Vicepresident Kamala Harris
are getting briefed were told on preparations. Officials are bracing for extreme winds and the windshield on this has grown exponentially so its going to affect far many more people than we thought at first. The winds could cause widespread power outages, like we just saw less than two weeks ago across six states in the southeast, including florida. Helene hit florida first. This is the second punch. 15 feet of lifethreatening
Storm Surge
expected, and time is running short for people who actually want to get out of the way. And you might have to go a little bit farther away than you thought. Orlando,
Places North
of where we were first watching for could see
A Hundred
mile an hour winds now with that windshield growing wider and wider. The footprint of the storm is getting bigger. This is outnumbered im

Hurricane Milton
is turning toward a potentially catastrophic collision with floridas
West Coast
. And i just explained the
East Coast
of floridas going to hit it, too. Going to feel it as well. They already have confirmed touchdown of tornados and a tornadic
Super Cell
now that has been spun off by milton. The wind is powerful enough just to do that. That tornado that whipped across inner state 75 confirmed, the national
Weather Service
is now warning people to seek shelter. Fox
News Meteorologist Adam
klotz has the latest from
Hurricane Milton
enter the
Fox Weather
center. Adam. Hey there harris, unfortunately more tornados are continuing to spin up even as we speak but heres where that hurricane currently spins, winds at 145 miles an hour, still a category 4 hurricane and you talked about the size of the storm growing, were watching it right in front of our eyes, this is becoming a larger storm. The winds might slow down just a little bit but as those winds slow down, theyll still be deadly and the storm will continue to grow. Every one of these boxes, this is a
Tornadoworn Storm
currently on the ground, youre seeing several of those. You see the pinching is a confirmed tornado on the ground, it means someone has seen it actually with their eyes and were looking at some
Tornadoworn Storm
s there over
Fort Myers
. So tornados continue to spin up and will continue to spin up as we have all the conditions if place across the southern half of the state for those tornados. This is not unheard of when you see a hurricane like this, although they typically dont become as powerful as weve seen so far. Heres the
Forecast Track
as we get into the overnight hours, winds continue to die down just a little bit. I dont want to say theyre dying down because 125 miles an hour is still a major category 3 hurricane and then it stays a hurricane as it drags across the entire state through the overnight hours into early thursday morning. So as you mentioned, the
East Coast
is still likely going to see a hurricane moving across it. Heres the size of the storm, even though its still well out to sea. Were beginning to see those initial winds getting up to tropical storm level, getting close to the coast or approaching the coast. Weve seen some
Wind Gusts
there up to 40 miles an hour down in
Key West
55 miles an hour as we head through the rest of this afternoon into the evening were just going to continue to watch this spread out. Again everything in the yellow, those are tropical
Storm Force
winds, you see the
Hurricane Force
gusts starting to arrive by 5 00 p. M. Right along the coast in places like sarasota and then you continue through the evening hours and you suddenly see those consistent hurricaneforce winds,
Thats Everything
there in the red. But a huge swath of the state is dealing with at least some of these winds and then of course this drags itself across the state. One of the biggest concerns with this entire
Storm System
continues to be
Storm Surge
. Were looking at 12 feet of
Storm Surge
just a wall of water with this system acrosss the
Tampa Bay
area. The 15 feet is now settled a little further south. It does include places like siesta key, venice, these are very popular destinations where there are a ton of buildings right along the coast, 15 feet of water will be devastating, 12 feet of water will also be devastating taking you down to
Fort Myers
beach. Here are those winds and i will leave you with this harris but these are the winds, 110 miles an hour plus, right, so youre talking 125, 130 there across sarasota,
Cape Corral
and orlando as you mentioned still included in this area where you could see 75 to 110 mile an hour winds. This is going to be widespread and devastating. And again the
East Coast
is still going to be dealing with it into early
Tomorrow Morning
. Harris adam thats a lot of information that a lot of people need. Thank you very much bringing
Night Focus
because were not that far away from
Land Fall
now. Fox
Weather Storm Specialist
mike is tracking the lastminute preparations for
Hurricane Milton
. Youre in
Madeira Beach
which i understand is what, about 30
Miles Southwest
of downtown tampa. So whats it like obviously the winds are pick up since the last time i saw you. Yeah, last time we were on the
Beach Weve
come inland not that far inland about a block and a half from the gulf, the gulf is starting to get a little rougher, 23 foot swells but the big issue with the
Search And Wind
is whats left from helene harris. We have piles and piles of damage. Yes yesterday they were able to get it off
Gulf Boulevard
at least in eyesight but all these neighborhoods miles and miles of neighborhood streets on the
Barrier Islands
look like this. Talked to someone in the
Southwest Florida
area, they still have damage out there on their front porch, front driveway. But all you see here, mattresses, some of these roberts heavier, but when the surge comes in later this afternoon and this evening, this stuff is going to start floating and then you bring in
Wind Gusts
in excess of
A Hundred
miles an hour and then youre talking about flying projectiles. So you have the surge destructive waves super imposed on top is a real nightmare. The one thing we dont have is additional debris or items coming out of homes because everything in the houses that was impacted is out on the sidewalk. So the question is, how does this look
Tomorrow Morning
when the wind and the storm is gone,
Fran The Gulf
and probably
Debris Littering
the streets everywhere it may be tough to get around. Already hearing
Lightning And Thunder
another
Ma Reason
warning off the coast for
Water Spouts
until 1 00 p. M. And the weather is going to go downhill from here. The winds are east northeast blowing offshore but eventually theyll come around on shore and start to push the water in with the
Surge Warning
and the
Hurricane Warning
here at
Madeira Beach
. Were going to be heading for higher ground once we finish with
Fox News
at 1 00. Harris. Harris ive got to tell you, youve told that better than ive seen anybody in terms of whats going to be in the water when that
Storm Surge
comes in. I didnt realize how loose all those materials were. Obviously we know theres
Hurricane Helene
. Its just there they had to get out of the way. Look at that wind and we can hear the thunder where you are as well. I mean the water picks that up and thats projectile and you cant see it coming. No, no, you cant. Its going to be dark when we make
Land Fall
. Harris yeah. Again, mandatory evacuation, little if any
Traffic Today
on the roadways, everybody has hunkered down were going to be in a very safe spot away from anything that could fly in and hit us and have coverage for you this
Evening And Tonight
on
Fox News
and
Fox Weather
. Harris good. Im glad youre taking cover and sounds like a lot of people have gotten out of the way and heeded the mandatory evacuations thats a messing. Mike one more thing. Harris yes. One more thing real quick, i just heard, the
Sunshine Sky Way
bridge, the main bridge from one peninsula down to the south they just closed that and theres three other bridges in
Tampa Bay
harris that are going to be closed if theyre not already very shortly, the four main routes over
Tampa Bay
so
Sunshine Sky Way
bridge is now closed. Harris im writing that down. Youre right theyre not going to have many choices to get out of there if youre on one of the sides of those bridges because if theyre closing them down then what do you do. So the time is urgent now. Mike, thank you very much. Kayleigh you shared information that, i mean, just your own personal experience, those people who get hit by 12 feet, you said it yesterday, the height of that, what that really means. Kayleigh yeah, little homes in florida, old homes that are not built up to code in an area we have a home, small little bungalow, 12 feet goes over the house. 12 foot hits the roof and ive talked to neighbors who are absolutely petrified because their houses have flooded in the course of 12 months, not once, not twice, not three times but four times and, in account can one elderly woman stayed in this area of long
Boat Key
and unfortunately was a really hazardous situation in helene. So i have been told and long
Boat Key
where people tend to hunker down and say weve got this, it is now a ghost town. Tampa where my parents left last night is a ghost town. These places are ghost towns. And the one hope that everyone has, my mom said as im taking pictures upstairs, i hear
The Voice
of
Governor Desantis
and i hear steady leadership and i hear results and it gives me comfort and i think theres a lot of floridians that feel that way. Harris real quickly can we look at this live
Picture Kayleigh
because i know you know this area well. Key west is on the other side of the state. Kayleigh yeah. Harris
Weve Seen People
go up weve had this live shot over an
Hour And Weve
shown every now and then its active now. Thats the southernmost tip of the contiguous us. A lot of people take selfies with that. Kayleigh yep. I live in the
Tampa Area
, i go to the keys every single year. It takes about 810 hours to get down there. So think you drive 810 hours you see this and think about what youre going to see in
Tampa Bay
. Harris doubt. Doctor dr. Siegel im concerned about what mike said about
Flying Debris
because people in this area the
Tampa Area
are not used to this. They havent seen a hurricane like this in almost
A Hundred
years in tampa specifically. Glad to hear everybodys evacuating because
Tampa Bay
itself is only 11 feet deep which means winds come how long off of it 15 foot of surge in an carry of surge that hasnt seen it before is going to cause a lot of injuries and damning to people still walking around maybe theyre in water if theres flooding. The thats the
Number One
cause of injury medically is getting hit by
Flying Debris
or seeing it boo he low the surface. So we have to watch out for that the hospitals will see a lot of that. They have majoror medical center city. Harris youve been covering since dawn. Emily
Governor Desantis
has been laying it out consist inly and saying if you dont want to leave the county you dont have to we have
Hurricane Proof
shelters and if you dont have a car because a lot of peoples cars were flooded and are now totalled because of
Hurricane Helene
the
States Part
ferried uber so the states going to get you a ride. And i think that the preparations are underway, people are evacuating but theres also a really emotional time for a lot of people. Harris absolutely. Carley i was speaking to
Somebody Yesterday
who lives in
Treasure Island
and he said he lost the first floor of his house during helene and he says he knows by friday hes not going to have a house at all. So people are leaving but the emotional toll will stay. Harris emily. Emily and i think about who i brought up yesterday, those that the infirm, the elderly, those in living assisted facilities, incarcerated, the zoos, theres a lot of people who arent able bodied or arent easy to leave or require the hospitals, hospitals requiring a lot of equipment. So those just chasing the storm and refusing to leave for their own sort of satisfaction, i imlooker them to leave too. All it does is risk the lives of the emergency medical personal that he will then are brought in to save them with the frightening debris and the projectiles that we can anticipate dr. Siegel so true. Harris making me think about what were watching on the screen. Some people do choose to hunker down because they dont feel like they have any other choices so carley what you said about those shelters for people and maybe some helpful transportation with uber, its important. It may be beyond that point though in the next hour or so. This is fort
Myers Florida
and this is where at least 12 feet of
Storm Surge
are expected. So were able to better get our eyes on the storm to see exactly where its going to hit hour by hour. Look at the winds already pick up here and we are hours away from projected
Land Fall
that wont be at this exact spot and its already cooking. Governor
Ron Desantis
holding a

in less than an hour. Earlier he warned of life threatening
Storm Surge
saying belongings can be replaced, you can not be replaced. If you get ten feet of

Label Criticism toward the federal governments
Hurricane Response as, quote, misinformation. Theres a lot of misinformation, and i, i beg you to not pay attention to it. Whats the risk of political figures sharing misinformation during this time . Those who do it do it to try to damage the administration. What do you think the effect of these lies are . Its profound and it is the height of irresponsibility and, frankly, callousness. So lives are literally at steak right now. Im going to divorce the
Disinformation Being spread from any one individual and just say this. Disinformation harms survivors of a disaster, because they lose trust in their government. Disinformation is harmful and really repugnant. People want to do disinformation misinformation. Your whole premise of the question is misinformation sir. Yes, its misinformation. Emily
Jacqui Heinrich is live at the
White House with more details. Jackie. Emily, the administration is highlighting what they call misinformation from their critics while also accusing republicans of politicizing the storm. What upsets me so is the idea that any politician would play political games with these folks, with people who are in the midst of such suffering, loss of life, loss of their homes, loss of normalcy, and then for the sake of political gain tell these lies in a way that is meant to make people distrust the help that is there for them to receive. But
President Biden praised florida
Governor Ron Desantis yesterday saying hes been cooperative and doing a great job. Bidens remarks came after
Vicepresident Harris doubled down on her rift of desantis on
The View accusing him of
Playing Politics by dodging her calls. Desantis punched back saying shes never called him during previous storms. Ive been in contact with the president. Ive been in contact with the fema director. Its interesting, harris is not even in the chain of command. She has no role in this. I mean, the idea that i should be like worrying about her when im focused on the task at hand is quite frankly absurd. A
Harris Campaign Spokesperson answering to that on special report last night. Isnt that the important thing, that hes talking to the
President And Fema officials and coordinating . Yeah, and the vicepresident is engaged in this process, too. She was briefed by fema about the preparations for milton as it heads towards florida. I think shes saying right now not a moment necessarily to have the politics drive the conversation and instead to be focused on making sure people are getting the aid that they need and getting the direction. But the vicepresident is not as engaged as the president , their schedules show. The president cancelled travel to
Germany And Angola so he could stay at the
White House and manage the response to the storm. Meanwhile, the vicepresident is joining their
Fema Meeting Today virtually while heading to a
Campaign Event Tomorrow in las vegas, a rally on friday as well in phoenix. So far shes not adjusted any of her schedule, including these
Campaign Events or her interviews on the
View And Howard stern in light of this storm. Emily. Emily jackie thank you. All right so carley we know the president has stayed thinned help manage the
Response But Part of the resounding claimer from americans is that they want the army to be in status, too, so the military can be managing this response and so many people are
Suffering Catastrophically from helene and now bracing for milton and yet the point is that were covering here, if you dare to say that it seems, the
White House brands you as misinformation. Carley yeah, and to what
Kamala Harris said yesterday on
Stephen Colberts show, she said to the people of georgia and north carolina, i beseach you and beg you dont believe in misinformation on the ground that the response to the storm has been lacking. So she is addressing people who just lost everything and are saying im desperate for help not to believe their own lived experience that theyre actually, that theyre actually desperate for help. Its not misinformation if its coming from the victims directly. Weve talked to people. There was a woman on our air that said she start to do cry she was sobbing when she finally got
Fresh Water thats how desperate she was. To your point about the military, emily,
Senator Ted Budd was doing an interview and was asked why it took so long for soldiers from fort liberty, fort bragg, which is in state, to come help out. And she said he said, i think there was a lot of confusion about who is in charge. That is not femas fault. That lies squarely on
President Bidens shoulders. Emily thats right. And kayleigh as we talked about, so to carleys point there are north carolinians right no you that
Need Help, have needed help and the answer to that came in the form of groups like save our allies nonprofits and again the point is, whos in charge. So when we have reports of we
Need Help, we need
Fresh Water, we have no power and also im trying to help and told by the federal government, no, no, no, not this, not this, not how. And then we are told there are many military members who are there but they cant operate in the same way because theyre not in charge. These are valid facts and criticisms and actual reports and yet thats misinformation and thats what the vicepresident goes to tamp down on stephen colbert. Kayleigh definitely. Look its very simple if youre biden, kjp, kamala if you have the facts on your side you do what
Governor Desantis did today, i have the largest mobilization of
National Guard in florida history, the largest mobilization of
Utility Workers ever ive removed
50 Thousand cubic wards of debris. Its what i would do during
Press Conferences during covid i would talk to the admiral we handed out this many gloves this many i95 remembers perfect rateers, for reporters. Theyre not doing that. Why . Instead theyre
Shouting Misinformation at reporters. Thats when you dont have a messaging problem, you have a facts problem. One of you, please,
Stand Up i dont care which one list out for me what youve done. Youve yet to lay out a time line, give us the facts. Were waiting. Emily
Harris Thats the point. In 24 hours we had the president , the vicepresident and the white
House Spokesperson Talk about
Misinformation Label any questions and criticisms as misinformation. Why dont they use that breath for policy or to disseminate information that these americans need . Harris thats like the only thing theyre on the same page about. I mean, if we correct
Karine Jeanpierre
One More Time, the only french i know these days,
One More Time at that lectern for countering whatever the facts are and also countering whats coming out of the
White House, i mean, come on. But with
Kamala Harris, she has managed to do the one thing that
Joe Biden Couldnt do for himself. She makes him
Look President ial in these moments even though hes messed up for two weeks with helene survivors. Think about that. He actually cancelled a trip yesterday, showed up, was working with fema, and then dropped the political bomb on
Kamala Harris by saying, well, shes fighting with, i cant get desantis to return my calls because as you pointed out hes busy saving lives, biden says well i have desantis direct line on camera. Theres more
Drama And Intrigue going on. So at least they agree on one thing, they hate the media and think that we lie when we ask good questions and want to hold them accountable. Emily and not just the media but americans. Americans. Dr. Siegel listen, i think that the
Word Misinformation is wrong. That
Word Shouldnt be used ever and i said that during the
Covid Pandemic and wrote many columns about that. It should be an opening for discussion here. Youre up on a lectern you say how about something like we can do better, we will do better. Heres what were going to do better, here are the facts as kayleigh said, here are the facts. Listen, when j. D. Vance,
Senator Vance wrote in the
Wall Street Journal about how only 500 troops the first day now were up to 1500 troops he pointed out that delay. Look at
Hurricane Katrina when there were 18,000 military on the ground, 50,000
National Guard, and
President Bush still got a lot of criticism for the response there. Were talking about 1500 versus 18,000. They can do a lot better with the national presence. Emily right and again to put them in that c2 status. Youre looking at
Key West. This is live footage right now from
Key West florida. Now in just the last 20 minutes since we started the show, the waves have kicked up enormously growing ferociously and as harris you pointed out this is on the opposite side of the state. This is not even where the worst impact will occur. Harris far from it. Emily yet the
Storm Surge could be record breaking still. Governor desantis set to hold a

President Biden invites president harris are being briefed on the latest lifesaving preparations for
Hurricane Milton as we speak and well continue to monitor them and bring you any developments out of that briefing. Meanwhile,
Vicepresident Harris attempting to separate herself from
Joe Biden but shes having explaining just how shes going to do that. Well, if anything, would you have done something differently than
President Biden during the past four years . There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of and ive been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact. Kayleigh not a thing, not afghanistan, inflation, immigration,
The List goes on. She had time to prepare for the second go around with that very same question and still she struggled to make her case. You are a member of the present administration. Under a harris administration, what would the major changes be and what would stay the same . Sure. Well, i mean im obviously not
Joe Biden. I noticed. So that would be one change in terms of but also i think its important to say with 28 days to go, im not donald trump. Kayleigh heres why i found this so curious harris, cnn had a sentence that stood out to me. Internal
Harris Campaign research on the president ial debate found that one of the most popular moments for the vicepresident was when she said clearly, i am not
Joe Biden. If thats your most popular moment, why dont you hone in on that and separate yourself . Harris she said clearly im not donald trump. So what we want to know is not who she isnt, we want to know who she is. Thats the question now. How are you different from the last three and a half years which people have said, and aggregate across the nation how they vote theyre not happy with the current circumstances under this leadership so how is she going to be different. This ought to be like and you word worked in an administration and campaign, thats like question one what do you want your legacy to be ms. Harris, how do you want to be different . And then you fan out with examples of how youre going to change things. Either she doesnt know or she really wasnt in all those rooms he said she was in making those big decisions and she
Cant Speak on the current policies because she doesnt understand them . I dont know. All of it is embarrassing. Im not
Joe Biden or donald trump. Thats what see says. Kayleigh dr. Siegel the polling before
Joe Biden dropped out was that he was the least popular president since
Jimmy Carter and then you look at afghanistan, which was a debacle and you look at inflation and the legislation that led to that. You
Cant Think of one thing you would do differently . Dr. Siegel well, you can but im thinking that maybe she doesnt want to come out and say it. For example, people know that she may have destabilized the
Middle East even further they know shes not going to be tough on iran at a time when iran is attacking israel. Everyone knows that shes not going to be tough enough on the border at a time when people are continuing to fly across the border and we have a public
Health Emergency in the united states because of the border. People know that about healthcare shes going to further weaken the free
Market System of the healthcare. So we know. So if she mentions those policies and distances herself from biden, shell be even more unpopular and thats why shes not doing it. Kayleigh
Emily Last Night going on late
Night Television we talked about this yesterday, the
Comedy Tour. It wasnt just a
Comedy Tour it was drinking a beer. And i can just see the
Trump Campaign after this hurricane with an image of her drinking a beer and the devastation that is wrought upon these communities and the
Side By side is not pretty. Emily a
Peril Vacation of how seriously they take americans plights and sufferings which is not at all and not at all do they take
Responsibility Or Accountability for that. For her answer that she wouldnt change a thing not only a punch in the gut for americans who have suffered the last three and a half years but i think i have more extensive training with an
Nfl Cheerleader how to pivot on get out information to reflects positively make everyone leave the room feeling better and my point is that, why didnt she say, while i agree with
Joe Biden on all of his policies, i would certainly have changed the disastrous and deadly effects, i would have changed 13 service members lost their lives. I would change those that have become unemployed that are suffering under high inflation. Make yourself human sister, please, for a second. For a second think beyond your own hubris because thats what it was by the way. Its her how she is, im not biden, im not trump. Shes always reminding us what she is only in the office she occupies and then who shes not because its from a place of snark, a place of ego. Its not actually a place of
Compassion Or Intel jeans carley. Carley this question that she was asked yesterday is very similar to the first
Debate Question when she was, are you better off harris oh, yeah. Carley do you think americans are better off now than they were four years and she didnt have an answer then and shocking she still doesnt have an answer. Because emily you outlined one i have another. All she has to say, picture this, is the country is more divided than ever before and i want to reset the tone and really be a president to all people. And then she harris are you running . Because that was good. Carley hang on. She could say something like
Joe Biden would be the first person to tell you that i am of a younger
Generation And Everyone laughs, so im going to hone in on what young people really want when it comes to affordable housing, healthcare and food, and then be done dr. Siegel youre hired. Carley thats it dr. Siegel youre hired harris be the first to say youre younger, ouch. Carley
Joe Biden would be the first person to say it. Kayleigh good messaging from carley shimkus, lets

Anna Maria Florida right now
Hurricane Milton expected to make
Land Fall in just hours and florida officials are telling people to get out now. Police officers are going doer to door and our next guest has told residents that if they do not evacuate, to write their names on their bodies to be identified later. Joining us now is
Floridas Attorney general ashley moody. Shes at an
Emergency Operation Center in
Tampa Bay area. Ashley your warning echoed that of the
Taylor County Sheriff in helene he said write on your arm to be identified. My family left
Tampa Yesterday said its a ghost town. Do you believe people have heeded these very stark warnings . Well, florida, as you know, just experienced a destructive hurricane in less than two weeks were on the heels of
Hurricane Helene and i can tell you, standing with
Law Enforcement officials, in the aftermath of that destructive hurricane, seeing a
Concrete Slab where a house once stood or looking at a home that is crumbled and talking to a sheriff that said we had
A Thousand calls for help, we knew where to go because there comes a point where we cant get out there and rescue people we take down where that calls coming from we go straight there and thats when we see what happened when someone chose to stay in one of these areas that weve asked folks to evacuate. So i think coming off helene, many of us are imploring, based on what weve seen and witnessed, you know, please think over that natural human instinct, and we know that its there, to protect your home. We know that you want to get back in there as soon as possible. We know harris we have breaking news, the president of the united states has just had a briefing, so has the
Vicepresident Kamala Harris. We see him live here. Lets watch. At my direction,
Administrator Criswell will be in the
State Emergency
Operations Center in
Florida Tonight, and kamala and i are going to keep pressure on the company so prices stay stable on gasoline, flights and goods people need. Finally, were teaming up with state and local officials to support impacted communities. I spoke with the florida
Governor Desantis with mayor the tampa mayor, the clear water mayor, and the
Pinellas County Chair woman peters. I offered them everything we need, everything we have, everything they need and i made it clear to them they should reach out if
Theres Anything more they need. I gave them my personal
Phone Number here at the
White House to contact me directly if thats necessary. Let me close with this. I want to thank the governors of all the affected areas over the last couple weeks. Florida, north carolina,
South Carolina, georgia, tennessee, virginia. You know, weve been in constant
Contact And Theyve been very thankful and appreciative of the help the federal government has provided and im appreciative all theyre doing as well. Ive told them to contact me with anything else they need. We have made available an unprecedented number of assets to deal with this crisis. Were going to continue to do so until the job is done president. But now i want to be clear about something. The last few weeks theres been a reckless irresponsible and relentless promotion of disinformation and outright lies that are disturbing people. Its undermining confidence in the incredible
Rescue And Recovery work that has already been taken and will continue to be taken. Its harmful to those who
Need Help the most. Theres simply no place for this to happen. Former
President Trump has led the onslaught of lies. Assertions have been made that propertys been confiscated, thats simply not true. Theyre saying people impacted by these storms will receive 750 in cash and no more. Thats simply not true. Theyre saying that the monies needed for this crisis is being diverted to migrants. What a ridiculous thing to say. Its not true. Now the claims are getting even more bizarre. Congresswoman marjorie
Taylor Greene a congresswoman from georgia is now saying the federal government is literally controlling the weather. Were controlling the weather. Its beyond ridiculous. Its got to stop. Moments like this there are no red or blue states. Theres one united states of america where neighbors are helping neighbors, volunteers and first responders are risking everything including their own lives to help their fellow americans. State, local and federal officials are standing
Side By side. Let me repeat. No one should make the american people question whether their governments will make sure when a disaster strikes theyll be there. We will, all of us. Im going to turn it over to
Vicepresident Harris, if thats okay with all of you. Thank you. Madam vicepresident. Thank you mr. President. And, liz, thank you for the work that you have been doing. As the president said we have been working around the clock to prepare for
Hurricane Milton and to ensure that people are safe including ensuring federal, state and local resources are being coordinated in a smart and efficient and effective way. We have also been in constant contact with the leaders in florida to make sure that we are cutting any
Red Tape that might get in the way of getting relief to folks, to make sure also that communities receive the resources and the support that they need as quickly as possible. Already, we have sent more than 1,000 federal personnel to be on the ground in florida to assist with what needs to happen in the state to prepare for this hurricane, and we will continue to scale up those efforts. To the people of florida, and in particular the people of the
Ta Tampa res region. We urge you to take this storm seriously. As has been said before, this is a storm that is expected to be of historic proportion, and many of you i know are tough and youve ridden out these hurricanes before. This ones going to be different. And so we ask you that by every measure, understand its going to be more dangerous, more deadly, and more catastrophic. So please listen to your local officials. They know what theyre talking about. They know what theyre doing and if you are told to evacuate, please evacuate immediately. Do not wait until it is too late. And in the hours and days ahead,
President Biden and i and our administration will continue to do everything we can to protect the people who have been in the path of this storm. And once the storm has passed, we will be there to help folks recover and rebuild. As we continue to do for those communities in florida, georgia, north and
South Carolina and across the southeast who have been devastated by
Hurricane Helene. Finally, as the president mentioned, to any company that or individual, that might use this crisis to exploit people who are desperate for help through illegal,
Fraud Or Price gouging, whether it be at the gas pump, the airport, or the hotel counter, know that we are monitoring these behaviors and the situation on the ground very closely and anyone taking advantage of consumers will be held accountable. The
Bottom Line is this hurricane poses an extreme danger and we urge everyone in florida to take extreme caution, and we are with you, and we will get through this together. And with that, i will hand it over to
Homeland Security Advisor liz sherwood randall. Thank you
Madam Vicepresident. Mr. President,
Madam Vicepresident , you will now receive a briefing on the latest forecast for
Hurricane Milton and actions that we have taken to prepare for it and be ready to respond to it you will hear from administrator of fema deanne criswell, the director mike brennan, the director of the national
Weather Service ken graham, secretary of
Homeland Security mayorkas and the
Come Endan of the
Coast Guard Admiral linda fagan. Well begin with
Administrator Criswell. Over to you deanne. Thank you, liz. Mr. President,
Madam Vicepresident , i just want to assure you, we are taking this storm very seriously. As you will hear from dr. Brennan shortly, milton is currently a category 4 storm and will remain a hurricane as it crosses over florida. At your direction, mr. President, i will be traveling down to
Tallahassee Tonight to meet with my team as well as our
State Partners and i will be there to assess the damages and the impacts immediately following the storm. Working in close coordination with the state to ensure that they have everything that they need to support their priorities. As you have always directed me to do, i am leaning forward to make sure that we are strategically placing our resources and our teams to be able to rapidly respond in florida. There are currently over
A Thousand federal personnel on the ground in florida supporting the efforts from
Hurricane Helene, as well as the previous storms that have happened over the last few years. And i have directed, at your direction, an additional 1200
Search And Rescue personnel from fema, the
Coast Guard and the department of defense, to stage in florida so they are ready to take action as soon as milton makes
Land Fall. This also includes 30 highwater vehicles, helicopters, as well as boats, to be able to go in and support the counties and the states as needed. Ive also moved over 500 ambulances to help assist with the response, 6
Incident Management Assistance teams into one specifically into tampa and others throughout the region, multiple
Power Assessment teams and dozen of medical
Facility Asment teams so they can go in and check on the health and medical facilities as soon as the storm passes. And, mr. President and
Madam Vicepresident , i have also moved millions of meals and liters of water into florida to support any of those immediate needs. I real appreciate, mr. President and
Madam Vicepresident , your continuous effort to help lift up the warnings and the guidance that you just gave about what people need to do in the path of
Hurricane Milton. This is an extremely dangerous storm and we need all of the residents that are in the path of the storm to listen to their local officials. They will tell you if theres still time to evacuate or what you need to do if you are still where youre at. They will give you the right information about what you need to do to protect yourself where you are at right now. Sometimes just traveling a few miles inland can mean the difference between
Life And Death and nobody has to lose their life as a result of this storm. Much so, in short mr. President and
Madam Vicepresident , i assure you we are taking this storm extremely seriously. We are focused and we are ready to support the people of florida. Deanne, youre doing a hell of a job. You always have. Weve been through a lot of this together, all three of us, including the vicepresident. And i have one question right now, though. What are you most worried about today and into tomorrow, and what messaging can we do to help people in the hours before it makes
Land Fall . Mr. President, the biggest concern is making sure people have gotten out of harms way. Over the next 24 hours, we are going to see significant winds, we are going to see
Storm Surge, we are going to see flooding from the rain. People need to be able to take this storm seriously. They need to move, if they still have time to move, out of harms way. And we are prepared to support florida with additional
Search And Rescue assets to help save lives. Thats our immediate concern, mr. President, is saving lives over the next 24 hours. Have you ever seen a storm like this one since youve been in charge . I think this is going to be one of the biggest ones we have seen after it makes
Land Fall. We saw a lot of impact from
Hurricane Ian, but this one is different. This one just looks different and i think were going to have a lot of impacts and people that are going to need our help, sir. Thank you very much. Administrator criswell . Yes, maam. Are we concerned about any
Misinformation Or Disinformation regarding evacuations that we need to clear up at this point . Theres been a lot of misinformation out there,
Madam Vicepresident , thats for sure. But i have not heard anything specific to the evacuations. I think that the local officials, the state officials, have been very strong in getting that message out there and getting people to move out of harms way. I was in florida on monday, i met with the mayor of tampa as well as the mayor of st. Petersburg and we saw people evacuating and so they are listening to their local officials and that is encouraging. Thats great. Thank you. I think well move on then thank you
Administrator Criswell. Well move to
Director Brennan from the national hurricane center. Thank you, liz. Mr. President,
Madam Vicepresident , good afternoon. As
Administrator Criswell mentioned, we are just hours away from seeing a potentially catastrophic hurricane
Land Fall along the
West Coast of florida with the center of milton expected to cross the coast late this evening or very early
Tomorrow Morning as a powerful major hurricane and a large hurricane at that. We are already seeing multiple life threatening hazards playing out across florida, multiple
Tornado Warnings in effect across portions of southern florida, winds increasing, heavy rainfall spreading across much of the state and conditions are going to rapidly deteriorate over the next few hours, especially where
Land Fall is going to occur along the
West Coast. Thats where were expecting that devastating
Storm Surge of as much as 1015 feet aboveground level from somewhere near the
Tampa Bay region southward to
Port Charlotte with significant
Storm Surge extending hundreds of miles even farther south to the
Fort Myers and
Naples Area and that is why we have been supporting so many
Evacuation Decisions to get people away from that devastating
Storm Surge. Time is running out now for people to leave along the
West Coast before conditions deteriorate further. Additionally milton is going to be a powerful hurricane when it makes
Land Fall and move quickly across the state and remain at
Hurricane Intensity as it moves across
Florida Tonight and as it enters the
Western Atlantic during the day tomorrow. So that is going to bring the risk of
Hurricane Conditions to much of the central portion of the state. We have
Hurricane Warnings in effect from
Fort Myers up through tampa to
Cedar Key along the
West Coast all the way through the i four corridor across orlando to
Daytona Beach up to
Saint Augustine including
Cape Canaveral area and the
East Coast down to port saint lucie. So a large area is at risk of seeing devastating wind impacts widespread power outages, structural damage and that can lead to a very unsafe environment after the storm where we tend to see a lot of poststorm fatalities in this very dangerous environment thats left. Additionally, we are expecting very heavy rainfall, 612 inches, amounts as high as 18 inches across the heavy populated i four corridor from tampa to orlando to
Daytona Beach which could lead to widespread catastrophic and life threatening
Flash Flooding and urban
Flooding Tonight and into thursday in that area, and that a area where we lost about 16 people in
Hurricane Ian to that same type of flooding. So there is a a tremendous risk to both
Life And Property there. I do want to thank the
Administrator And Fema and her for her teams support and our coordination on thatten a i finally want to thank the
Noah And Hurricane
Air Force hunters flying into milton for days now providing us tremendously valuable direct data that has helped inform our lifesaving forecast and warnings. So thank you mr. President,
Madam Vicepresident. Mike i know youre tired of hearing from me ive been talking to you so much lately but i appreciate your constant
Input Youve given me and letting me know whats going on. What more can you tell us about how the location of this storms going to affect the
Storm Surge in florida . I mean, because thats pretty consequential, right . The surge . Is that what youre focusing on . Yes, mr. President. Just a shift of a few miles in the
Land Fall location will make a big difference in what area sees that very worst
Storm Surge. So a track of the center to the north of
Tampa Bay would push the highest
Storm Surge into
Tampa Bay itself, a track five or ten or 20 miles south would push that higher
Storm Surge to the sarasota
Port Charlotte area. Even as close as we are to
Land Fall its not really possible to tell exactly where that worst surge will occur. Its one wobble away from shifting ten or 20 miles. So thats why weve conveyed that risk across such a large area to help support the evacuation of much of that west central coast of florida. But
Tampa Bay is particularly vulnerable, correct . Correct, yes, mr. President. Its one of the most vulnerable locations along the entire
West Coast of florida because water gets funneled up into the bay. If you were to see a worst
Case Scenario there you could see
Storm Surge as much as twice as high as they saw during helene where it got up to seven or eight feet in the bay it could potentially get up above thanks a lot, i appreciate it. Joe. And might, it is good to see you again and thank you for all your work. For the folks living in florida long time and experiencing these storms, many times you are talking with them about how th
@type":"Organization
archive.org
@type":"ImageObject
800
600
//ia600402.us.archive.org/35/items/FOXNEWSW_20241009_160000_Outnumbered/FOXNEWSW_20241009_160000_Outnumbered.thumbs/FOXNEWSW_20241009_160000_Outnumbered_000001.jpg
@type":"Organization
