Ainsley Fox News Alert. The striking Dock Workers are set to return to work this morning after reaching a tentative deal last night. The international Longshoremens Association and u. S. Maritime alliance releasing a joint statement saying they, quote, have agreed to extend the Master Contract until January 15th, 2025, to return to the Bargaining Table to negotiate all other outstanding issues. Brian union and employers have agreed to a 62 Wage Increase over six years plus protections from automation. They still got to work that out. The Dock Workers had been seeking a 77 increase. It started the offer at 44 . President biden reacting to the agreement saying todays tentative agreement on the collective Bargaining Process represents critical progress towards a strong contract. I dont want the ports to close. I dont want it to effect christmas or our supplies. We all rely on these. Grocery stores, big box stores. Its a lot of money is that money going to be passed on to us . Yes. Because thats what happens in situations like this. 54 ships now that are offshore waiting to get in. They cant just, you know, the ports are open today. Work will resume. But, will there are bottlenecks. There is going to be a logjam. That was just after three days. Lawrence where are we going to see the increases. When i go to the grocery store, because of this, is it going to be the meat products. The produce, where are we going to see that immediate impact . Its likely going to be slow. Because, when you are paying your workers 62 more over six years. You have to find ways to make that up in other places. So, i dont think any company is going to come out and say because of this im going to do this. I will tell you what the Shipping Companies were doing before we had this deal. Some of the european shippers. One declared a Force Majeure ripping up contract because they are on strike. The legal terms of that are not good anymore. So we are going to increase our Ocean Rates between 20 and 50 . Theres no company in the world that can absorb that and not pass off on that cost to a consumer. Brian also, another thing at work. Any had ideal January 15th to work it out. Automation. Cant accelerate and use automation and. Everybody is concerned about workers and ai. I get it. But not when it comes to shipping and delivering. Dont touch that machine. Ainsley no intern is allowed to do that taking the job away from someone trained to do it . All the candidates want that union support. They want the Blue Collar support. But the question is at what expense . I mean, are you supporting these 47,000 Dock Workers at the expense of the entire nation who will kneel the effects of whatever you decide to do . We will. No one wants to come in and invoke Taft Hartley but what happens they should have. Ainsley working so hard and working overtime and working long hours. Help us, crazy schedules, no, but a 77 Pay Increase over six years is hard for a lot of people to swallow. I dont think they got all the sympathy that they thought they would have gotten. Most of my friends are democrats, he said i am voting for Donald Trump. I was better off. I made more money and my business was better off under Donald Trump.
