We know the best antidote for anxiety is exposing them to what they are afraid of. Dana are we still having Hang Overs from the pandemic in schools . One would argue a lot of anxiety was bumping up long before the pandemic began and anxiety was there. It is now they are talking about it and using the language around it. Young kids can have stealth stress. Even we can have that as well where it is not necessarily we dont recognize it as Anxiety Or Stress but behavior and not sleeping well. No energy, cant concentrate. Other kids are using the words and know its a trigger. A difference between anxiety and having a Disorder And Help to figure out it. It is normal to feel anxious but that doesnt mean you have an anxiety disorder. Its okay to have butterflies in your stomach. 44 of teens say their phones make them feel anxious. Do you see that in your research . 100 . I think weve been protecting kids in the real world but not online. One of the main things we see is selfcomparison. Your kids might be anxious about a test and prepared for it if they have a surprise pop quiz. Know what you can control. Also know the difference between good and bad stress. Some things that are stressful are meaningful to you. They might sort of be part of what your value system. Working hard for something that you care deeply about. Dana you say make a failure resume. Sometimes kids put us On A Pedestal and when are the times we messed up personally and professionally and talk about that and what you learned from that and have them do it as well.
