ainsley: or behind bars. >> lawrence: you love the fact of military going to the military. >> steve: just the hair cut. >> ainsley: coming up in the third hour shave my head. >> brian: unless for a good cause. >> ainsley: i'm kidding. bine brian i would say this. israel does it. we got some. >> lawrence: are you serious? >> steve: haircuts? what are we talking about. >> lawrence: absolutely not we're not israel, we are america. we protect our women. >> ainsley: thank you. >> brian: a lot of them fight. >> ainsley: chip roy has a message for you are you can go straight to hell he said. >> brian: over his dead body. steve. >> lawrence: my grandmother was in the military we have a tradition do the right thing. >> brian: registering for the draft would be a mistake. >> steve: we will be talking about this in 10 minutes. >> brian: get the women into nato. the head of nato coming on at 8:00. >> steve: we have a busy show. meanwhile, listen to this. we have been talking to but out-of-control lawlessness out in california for years with thieves breaking into shops. a lot of retail theft, and brazen snash and grabs at jewelry stores across the state. but guess what happened now. >> brian: now, get. this remember that star studded event that took place in los angeles? there was a secret service agent who was actually robbed at gunpoint. lawrence lawrence they are not safe. madeleine rivera joins us live. maddy, can you tell us what happened there. >> that's right. this happened in california 30 minutes south of downtown, los angeles. authorities say they responded to call around 9:30 p.m. local time on saturday and found a secret service agent whose bag was stolen at gunpoint. secret service says the agent fired his gun unclear if the suspect or suspects were hit. no one has been taken into custody. but police are asking for the public's help. and they have got this photo of a car that was spotted leaving the area. secret service says thankfully the agent wasn't hurt. he was coming back from a work assignment. president biden returned to his close to 9 p.m. that evening star studded fundraiser as you mentioned included former president barack obama, gorge clooney and julia roberts. lego stores hot targets for california theft rings. the "l.a. times" reporting two suspects allegedly stole more than $100,000 worth of lego items from six southern california stores in the last two months. two people from another crime ring were arrested on june 5th after police saw one of the suspects stealing lego products from target stores. and check out this video from last week showing about 20 suspects using hammers and other tools to break into jewelry cases. in a store in sunny vale northwest of san jose. police arrested five suspects in that incident. guys, back to you. >> steve: maddie, i guess the message is be careful who you rob. with that secret service agent they didn't realize he had a gun. once they took off with bag they started shooting at him. secret service doesn't know if he hit anybody. >> yeah. well, this is a big concern in california. theft in general is a big concern in california. i mean, case in point, just take a look at november. crime will be on the ballot in november. and voters there it seems like an initiative to reform proposition 47 for instance, has made it into the ballot and, of course, for a lot of people in california, proposition come under fire loosen restrictions for drug and retail theft crimes. voters believe making their voices heard in november. >> lawrence: thank you, maddy. >> of course. >> lawrence: happen advertiser in chicago when the convention isn't there. you think california is bad. wait until you go to have an entire convention there where crime is out of control. shooting people day to day. robbing people, carjacking. >> brian: try push it all back. >> ainsley: clean it up. >> brian: so worried about it they have joe biden maybe doing a remote. bee will see if they pull that off. >> ainsley: when we heard the story did it surprise you though, brian. california. they have tent cities. safe spaces to do drugs. smash and grab. steal less than $1,000. nothing happens. >> >> brian: gavin newsom got 44% approval rating right now which is unbelievable considering that blue state. and other thing to add to this whole thing is that nicholas kristof column from yesterday where he says hey, liberals. i'm a liberal. we're blowing in all these cities. and the latest example is san diego. you blew up san francisco. you are blowing up los angeles. now destroying san diego with your policies. change your policies before you lose the stated. >> steve: i didn't realize, i think he wrote that he lives in oregon, which i didn't realize. so he is a west coast guy and he says hey. you guys are stinking up the place. democrats. >> ainsley: all right. well, trump is, rallying wisconsin. he is heading to that swing state. the rally is at 3:00 this afternoon. he is there to dismantle the democrats' blue wall. he says his campaign will discuss how joe biden has failed great people of wisconsin. this is the first since the conviction and his poll numbers are actually have gone up. >> lawrence: yeah, ainsley when you look at the numbers back in 2020 it was about 49% for biden and now at 47%. trump back in 2020 was at 48%. >> steve: keep in mind this particular poll was taken a month ago. something more telling is the fact that when you look at what is happening in the state of iowa, which had the first contest with the iowa caucuses. donald trump is making great strides right now be he is -- look at that 18 points ahead of joe biden. >> ainsley: that poll was after the conviction. >> steve: that one was. that's that is perhaps a better reflection of where people's heads are. >> brian: there was a poll done since the conviction. independents, 21% thinking -- rethinking who they are voting for after the conviction. so, that's why i assume joe biden's campaign thought it would be great idea to roll out convicted felon donald trump. and they are going with $50 million worth of ads to reinforce that i don't know if they had time to ad hunter biden's name into that keep in mind, too. you don't see that a lot coming from joe biden. you see it coming from his campaign. i wonder how aggressive is he going to get there outline what a lot of other people feel 40-plus percent of the country think it was unjust political case. >> ainsley: if you look at marquette university law school poll when it comes to wisconsin where trump will be today, wisconsin voters are split. it just depends on when did you go to the polls why are you voting? what is most important to you? the most important thing to the voters in this poll, 33 percent said the economy, 21 percent said immigration and border security. who does better on both of those issues? donald trump. he does better in that state on immigration, border, economy, israel, hamas war and foreign relations. biden, according to that statement is does better on abortion, healthcare, social security. >> steve: number one issue for everybody is the economy. joe biden is having another fundraiser tonight at the home of terry mcauliffe former governor of the commonwealth of virginia. >> ainsley: lost to glenn youngkin. >> steve: plenty of time to throw a fundraiser. bill and hillary clinton will be there. raise a bunch of dough. the biden team needs a bunch of dough. they are buying commercials. june $50 million worth of ads. essentially what they are drying to do is trying to convince us it doesn't feel like the economy is doing very well but trust us, these numbers are really good. so they're going that way, trying to persuade us things aren't that bad and also that donald trump is a convicted felon and that we're going to hear that 1 million times from the campaign. >> lawrence: question is how do those business owners, those average day americans feel? i was in wisconsin. this is some of the business owners that talked about what the climate is like now. watch. >> i am a business owner, and i'm seeing the effects of pricing with my cost of goods going up by 30%. to operate my business going up substantially i wasn't prepared for. during the trump years, i pretty much started my business around that time. i would say things were substantially different. >> lawrence: really. >> meaning i was able -- i was working as well. but i was able to afford things. i wasn't weard about my future as i am now. i didn't have the stress or the anxiety about tomorrow, you know, just from eating and, you know, supporting myself. >> lawrence: owns a vegan restaurant. not your typical maga type location. but she just just plainly. after he saw this interview he invited her to one of the rallies to talk about the issue. someone who switched their vote because the former president was reaching out, just talking about the economy. not talk about emotion. not talking about all the other nonsense of the day. it's about what is beneficial to her and her family. >> brian: also, what is interesting, since 2021, overall prices, what changes from state to state prices up 20%. 1% over the last year. inflation was i see are ad everything up 20%. that's substantial. biggest to smallest is more expensive. what is fascinating to see the redefinition of what we have been witnessing with the freezing of joe biden, with obama on the save on the fundraiser. and then him freezing during the juneteenth celebration. kjp is thinking this is ai manipulation? >> lawrence: claim we are making it up. >> steve: taking it all in, stopping. >> ainsley: we watched it live. >> brian: that's the comeback? >> lawrence: unbelievable. >> steve: comeback yesterday in the briefing room he was listening to the music. is not dancing a sign of mental illness or something like that essentially. >> brian: was he doing the robot? >> steve: that would be an improvement. >> brian: is he doing the robot. >> ainsley: i could never do it. >> steve: interesting item, speaking of politics in the "new york times" this morning. and ainsley, you have been talking about this for a while. the state of florida. they say that -- democrats are seeing glimmers of hope for the democratic party in florida. now, keep in mind it's an almost impossible state to win for democrats right now. gift fact there are 1 more registered republicans than democrats and 3 million unaffiliated people two ballot issue in forgives going to put part-time in the voting booth in november. one of them abortion and the other is recreational pot. and so they are thinking that's going to get their base out plus. for the most part, florida has a little higher average age. a lot of those people, the democrats say are sympathetic to joe biden. it's going to be an imocket. but any just say the "new york times" point is it's making it interesting in florida. >> brian: maybe republicans have to spend. rick scott close to elections. i know the house is up in arms but there is a senate version of the national defense authorization act, which has got a lot of stuff in it, but it includes, this wire women to register for the draft. >> steve: right. >> brian: i don't know if we are ready for this. the u.s. armed services committee send it out of committee. quote it amends the military service act selective service. just registering. it doesn't mean you have been drafted. larynx. >> brian: i i have been registered for a while. lawrence lawrence not like a period of time where war could not be at the brink. if there was any time that a woman would be drafted it's now. when you look at the national stage. >> brian: we're not even close to that. >> steve: volunteer army. >> lawrence: volunteer army recruitment all-time lows. not doing a great job with that. if we continue to insert ourselves in international conflicts, we could be right there as well. but, i just think as an american principle, we typically, men defend our family and seems like we are going back in time. >> ainsley: this will be year for fiscal year 25. authorizes 4.5% pay raise for military. >> that's good. >> increases basic pay for the junior enlisted service members. it does require women to register for the draft, for these select services. i will tell how this scares moms? older moms that have teenage boys or 20-year-old boys or girls now. >> here's thing. and brian you are right about that. you know, right now there is no draft. young men are automatically registered now. >> lawrence: required to by law. >> brian: do you have to go. >> steve: here's the thing. this passed 22-3 with 10 republicans on the committee. so a majority of the republicans voted for this. and here's the thing. the senate has repeatedly passed this same thing over the last couple of years but it never gets passed both houses of congress. and this new version also includes restrictions on abortions or transgender healthcare for military personnel and their families. and it is unlikely to ever the senate. >> lawrence: chip roy from texas. >> brian: he seems open to it. >> lawrence: can you go straight to hell over my dead body. >> ainsley: with his picture of his daughter. she is not going he said. >> lawrence: ainsley, how do you feel about that. >> i feel two fold about it. these are select services, and i just learned about this, you know, recently. we all did. so i haven't really thought what my opinion might be. but my dad did serve in the army. and it's been great to our family. my dad served for 20 years in the army reserves. and that helped my mother when she was so sick. so it helped with the cost of all of her medications. dad would go to the post and pick it up. so we were grateful to the military, of course, we love our military and we support it. but, for my daughter, i would be really -- she is 8. but if she is able to serve in her 20's. i would like for her to make that decision. >> steve: listen, i'm the oldest one on the couch. i was of age during the vietnam war. so my number was in the pool. i had a very high number. but it was the last year of the draft. >> ainsley: did you have friends that went? >> steve: a lot of my friends from high school went the older class men. >> ainsley: how did you feel. >> brian: know problem registering for the draft. >> ainsley: select supervisors what is would it be desk job? >> brian: there is everything. we go in there and you can be in the band. you know, not everyone just goes over there with face paint on. >> how do they decide who is in the battle though? >> i think lawrence would ultimately decide. >> lawrence: the reality of it is you can give options. but it's what is the need of the military at the time? >> ainsley: that's true, if your country needs you. >> i don't think so that they are somehow going to send women to the frontline. i think this is just another strike of america going away from our traditional values of men serving and protecting. israel has to do it because they have a small force. america is not in that same position. >> steve: also remember what warfare is like these days, so much of is remote. guys with joysticks. it's drones, it's bombs dropped from two miles up. >> lawrence: there is a ton of women that are watching isr over the night protecting our guys. i don't want to discredit. like my said my dr. grandmother my grandmothe
