now from the g7 summit. the first time he faces reporters since his son's felony conviction. >> john: it also comes as rush and vladimir putin flex the military muscles around the globe including war games near cuba. we will bring you the president's remarks live with little all-star lineup for expert analysis. >> we talked about how to grow this house majority and how he will help in doing so and how we will help him as well. this is a unified effort by the party, we are feeling good. >> the president was focused on the election, focused on the country and the challenges facing the country. >> president trump talked about what we can to working with a republican congress to fix these problems in january but it all starts november 5th. >> sandra: former president donald trump is set to deliver remarks moments from now after meeting with republican lawmakers on the hill discussing campaign strategy and his agenda for a potential second term. woe does that make the next or go hours exciting grade to be back with you, hello and welcome everyone i'm sandra smith the new york. >> john: good to be back with you as well, john roberts in washington this is "america reports" is ed sullivan might say we are going to really have a big shoe had for you. trump is addressing some of america's most powerful business leaders at both he and president biden's camp tried to sell corporate america on their vision for a more prosperous economy. >> sandra: ox team coverage starting right now making money host charles payne and he is warmed up and on deck to break down their economic agendas. >> john: first aishah hasnie life in washington who has been texting with some senators inside the nrst meeting were they saying? >> hey, john hey, sandra outsources inside that room though senators are telling me that the president started out by talking about flipping the senate. the campaign trail from the upcoming election which is similar to what he did on the house side. he spoke very positively about sam brown of course the new g.o.p. nominee in nevada, a possible pickup for senate republicans that he loves him and his wife. and he also is emphasizing repeatedly that he wants to work with all republicans to get them elected in november and he is now currently talking about inflation and how it is killing the economy. now what is interesting is what kayleigh mcenany just mentioned 10 minutes ago that mitt romney, senator romney who of course has been a trump critic is at this meeting. i believe his flight got delayed or canceled so he has decided to show up. he is in the room right now as is g.o.p. leader mitch mcconnell. so for the first time after four years coming face to face despite their very rocky relationship mcconnell says he is supporting the presumptive nominee in november. now this is the second half of trump's sort of take over of capitol hill. he met with house republicans this morning, talk policy, pledged a whole 100 tele- town halls to help them win seats and keep the house and lawmakers tell us this was especially for a fractured conference in the house and also a big dormant stomach endorsement for speaker mike johnson, listen to this. >> he said break up the mentor things us that we had sustained applause. he said i'm doing a very good job. we are grateful for that. look, we have to have continuity and leadership, we have to have a plan, it has to be very carefully executed. >> no trump is in full campaign mode despite his new york conviction he posted this tiktok video of him with boxing star logan policy is trying to win the youth vote taken from joe biden. here is logan's brother, jake jesse watters show. >> to me it doesn't have to do with democrat or republican it's about which president is going to fight for us and who to represent us the best way possible. that's really what the young people in america want. >> sandra: john, tim biden is paying very close attention to this sort of take over of washington today by the president. they are reacting to have a new ad out tending the air waves across the country in swing states basically saying that trump is attacking democracy and they are trying to tie him back to those january 6 the attacks again. again the first time back on the hill since january 6th. john? >> john: it's getting real, aishah hasnie outside capitol hill thank you. >> sandra: oh it is getting real. showed up for the debate, charles on-site host of "making money" on fox business, always great to debate with you always so smart. this is trump pledging to fight inflation and a something everyone is talking about. >> get rid of inflation and we are going to bring that number down not just where you don't have inflation but we will bring those costs down. we once again slash the record number of liberty destroying regulations. what we did in taxes no one is ever done even ronald reagan gave a big tax cut come we give the biggest tax cut in history. the biggest regulatory cut. and we are going to throw out bidenomics and replace it with maganomics like your hats. >> it's an economic showdown for the ages. who is winning right? >> i think president trump is winning because the american public is saying hey i'm in a bad situation. the american public despite the economists this is the thing about inflation. is a technical definition for inflation and there is inflation people understand. >> sandra: right, prices. >> according to economists we should be thrilled because it's only 3.3% but according to people it's up 20% a cumulative. of prices going from $1 to my $2 and then $2 to my $10 to $2.10 we say inflation is down but know the rate of growth has slowed. it's still up and it's cumulating. when these numbers come up no matter how small the inflation growth is it is on top of what's already happened because that's what these people are dealing with. will give you an example of auto insurance. auto insurance is coming down, it was down 0.1%. do know how much was up for the year in the year over year? over 20%. so that's the reality people are dealing with. how do we get there? so much money coming into this economy. 1.9 trillion the so-called covert relief we did not need. then another trillion with this inflation reduction act which is one of the worst named things since obamacare. since the affordable care act. so i think trump is winning by default, but also he makes a great point with things like regulations these are hidden costs. we had a heated conversation on housing. one of the problems with housing and lack of supply is bureaucracy, regulations. local builders it's the things they have to deal with to comply with some are smart but some are not smart. everyone who was ever with city hall knows a lot of the red tape is not there to prevent anything negative from happening, it's another step in a large government that feeds on itself the bigger it gets the bigger it must get. >> sandra: and the price of materials and the lack of skilled labor there's a huge problem there and what we need is more houses and that's just not happening right now. meanwhile the other side of the debate is president biden periods strategy has been to take on wall street. take on the big, greedy corporations and the businesses for this economic peril the american voters as they are feeling, listen. >> any corporation that is not bringing their prices back down even as inflation has come down even as the supply chains have been rebuilt, it's time to stop price gouging. a little bit of corporate greed going on too. too many corporate's charging more and more for less and less. that's why we are cracking down on corporations in price gouging. >> sandra: as i sang the energy market that would be illegal activity. if they were actually all getting together and saying let's take our prices so we can all have them higher no, this is a free-market. of if one company sees the president so my prices are too hide, that's the way this works. so i get it, it sounds good and it's popular. you walk into a store you want to blame the company jacking the prices up. >> of course. is not even that i just say the air inflation. you open a bag of chips and it's all air. i thought there were some chips in there. where other corn chips? but the fact of the matter is again corporations have to pay for the stuff too. they have to pay for the cost and they try their best. no one wants to ruin their customer, they want the customer to buy maxim step and come back a week later and buy the same step buried you know? it's a smart balancing act that works very well for us. >> sandra: but they will save those corporations are reporting record profits. they did with oil gas prices as well. i will ask you your response to that when someone debates he wanted, but it's the job of the corporation to plan for the future. when you don't have that level of uncertainty you don't know what's coming around the corner, your job is to protect your company and your shareholders. >> it's ironic when you say that it reminds me of the debate may be terkel election cycles ago remember that? and i always tell people corporations aren't people, but corporations are a species that wants to survive. like every species on this planet and they are smart. you don't live day-to-day you can scroll away some money, if you can make a few profits or your corporation continues and by the way, inside that corporation are a lot of people. you were coming at paychecks, they pay their bills, they put their kids through college. so we don't want to destroy corporate america. by the way, president biden can't have it both ways. you can't brag about how strong america is versus the rest of the world and not at least applaud why we are that strong. >> sandra: i told you i had charles warmed up. [laughter] to came to play, charles. >> john: new york city police may have thwarted a terror attack finding nine loaded magazines and much more during a early morning traffic stop. ryan is live with the details. do we know what the suspect's possible motives may have been question marks bigelow, john the central motive is still under investigation but based on what we know we can infer of this suspect could very well been planning a terror attack of some kind. 27-year-old judge sansone was walked out of a police precinct this afternoon and will be arraigned shortly on criminal weapons possession charges and for having an obscure license plate. sansone is not facing any terror charges at least not yet. police at 1:30 in the morning yesterday nypd officers patrolling queens, new york, spotted a black ford explorer with a blackout license plate. the officers pulled the car over and inside made a disturbing discovery. a stockpile of weapons in disturbing messages. sansone had a 9mm handgun, loaded magazine, terkel axes, multiple knives, with, stunk on, and a baton. >> people get arrested with knives every day but this magnitude nypd paraphernalia in the car. he added nypd body armor. >> he said he'd been living in his car and shared extremes jihadist abuse online. a baton that read "you left me no choice i am sorry" and a message in arabic that wrote "god forgive me" also caring that official body armor from the nypd in handcuffs and a vest which is a uniform worn by the new york city subway system. this is after the fbi director's of the threat of a terror attacked in the u.s. is at a whole 'nother level and after the new dhs inspector general report including the u.s. at risk of admitting dangerous people in the country with failed vetting procedures at our southern border. john? >> john: that has been proven. brian, thank you. now this. donald trump is not usually the one wants to get deep in those details. i think there'll some scorekeeping going on and a mix of some comedy we may get some of the remarks coming afterwards and i think the question for the g.o.p. as it unites find the guy who is going to get the domination here don't like nomination here is talking about scorekeeping in the past going to override the a strong point that they democrats are making one of the most winning arguments is also on the ballot in the state of florida voters love a chance to determine what their state's abortion policy looks you don't want to be stuck in your transition with no plan moving forward. so couple of groups tossing things around including the heritage foundation and what they said against that and i think you're right on the point of abortion, that is something that could whomp a 2024 result that is good for republicans much like you saw a little bit in 2022. the thing about politics as you never want to get too bullish. want to run like five points behind. the senate is very good prerogative, there are some fundamentals politically speaking for them including the fact that biden ran into his lowest approval rating ever during his presidency the other day. and trump is trusting on the economy of the number one issue for folks and it 21 plus point margin at some points but you can't swamp them with the other issues. be one we are still five months out but when you look at the battleground polls, even this commonwealth of virginia where i live down 48-48 trump leads in so many states >> if they give you talk to folks of the dnc as well as at the biden campaign they will tell you they will fight for every vote. i thing the fundamentals on the senate side favor republicans. the fundamental on the house side actually favor democrats in this one but the fact there is a new congressional seat in the state of louisiana there is also a new congressional seat in the state of alabama. both of those will open up an opportunity for democrats to likely pickup two seeds there and not to mention the new maps in georgia and new maps in new york also paint a picture in which mike johnson may not be the speaker of the house no matter what the outcome looks like. >> john: the margins are narrow to be sure. >> and another caution for republicans as well is there is an enthusiasm on the right who has been saying for a long time don't use all of these tools to vote in new ways so the republicans have to make do on that part too. >> john: it's about getting ballots in a no of states people thought were not in play are very strongly and play. somewhere actually leading in. but we have to get elected. if you take this beautiful place and make it something very special again. right now it's not special. right now it's being scorned and used as an example of when they look at the crime on the streets. when they look at all the problems we have they are using us as a bad example of democracy. and they are getting away with murder and we will not let it happen. so i just want to thank you for coming and i want to thank everybody here, you are all either elected or you are going to be elected again and reelected. i'm with everyone of you and you know that. i will be with you always. thank you very much for inviting me. we are going to have great success. i think we will have tremendous election. november 5th is very important but we really start much earlier than that, north carolina as an example you have north carolina in september 6th, your pennsylvania starts on septembe. these are different from the old days we have election day in paper ballots and voter i.d. unfortunately maybe someday we will get back to that. but you don't have that right now. but this is an outstanding group of people. i am with them 100%. they are with me thousand%. and we will work it out. i've had a really great relationship with just about everybody here just about all of the senators and if it wasn't fantastic, it gets worked out. and we have one thing in mind which is making our country great. so thank you all very much, we appreciate being here, thank you. [applause] >> sandra: all right, we will see where this goes. perhaps if he takes any questions or any of the other leaders decide to speak but in short and direct a direct targeting of the current president and his candidate for november. he led with borders, john. >> john: he led actually right off the top with russia saying we are in a situation where we will have russian warships and a nuclear submarine and apparently russian warships were carrying hypersonic muscles sailing just 30 miles off the coast of florida. down to cuba for war games in the caribbean. one russian reporter who was in "the washington post" said this is a retaliation or a response of the very least to president biden allowing ukraine to use american weapons to strike inside russia. so the sabers are being rattled here, and as to where it goes in the future, the u.s. defense department doesn't seem to think as much of a problem. the russian navy being just 90 miles off the coast of key west. but the former president seems to think it's a big deal and something needs to be done about it. >> sandra: indeed. he also commented after having multiple meetings with members of the republican party there in washington that he has a great relationship with the g.o.p. that was really one of the goals of those meetings today. they are attempting to unify the party, unify their message, get together on strategy as we are now getting closer and closer, middle of june as we head into november, john. >> john: the president said he is with the folks in that room 1000%. they are with him 1000%. although he did not release after that that if things are not perfect, they will get worked out. i was interested to hear he stuck to policy and party unity. he did not bring up the court case, he did not bring up any of the other grievances. he certainly does that at his political rallies particularly when the teleprompter goes out and he has to go off script and start ad lib. riffing. he tends to talk about a lot of things that are really on his mind in cases like that, but at the moment we are seeing a pretty good degree of discipline here in terms of campaign messaging and party unity. we will see a long that lasts. >> sandra: there been some promises on what they can do to turn things around that voters currently don't like happening in the country right now. they have to get together, get their messaging, get their strategy and figure out what exactly that is because as the debates come up, details will be demanded for sure. >> john: the president said we are a country in decline. much the same message as he was giving in 2016 during the campaign that we are being left out all over the world, we have a leader being left out all over the world and it's very notable that he said that one president biden is at g7 because traditionally politics ended at the water's edge but now whether it's coming from the united states toward italy or from italy toward the united states, those gloves are off. that old policy has been left by the wayside. and now it's just full on politics from here until november 5th. regardless where anybody is in the world. >> sandra: the republicans earlier through speaker mike johnson when he spoke with members of the republican party and the senate yesterday he said when he comes in showing his optimism that former president donald trump can win in november we have to have a very aggressive first 100 days agenda. johnson said that as he was huddling with senate republicans during that lunch meeting yesterday. first year will be important and i think we cannot waste a moment because there are so many things to do, john. >> sandra: we brought back mary catherine hamman richard fowler, richard just went to the eye doctor. [laughter] of the glasses. what did you think, mary catherine? i noted the message discipline. >> look, i think it is a good sign to see sort of political campaign discipline prompt versus political rally from. you lose some of the energy, you lose some of the comedy but you had the big issues, he did not go off track with his own grievances, he did not go into the past 22020. he even noted the need to vote in more ways and early for the g.o.p. which i think is a good sign moving forward. as with all of these things, it matters how many of those events he can put together with that kind of discipline. >> john: obviously he will spend most of his time on the campaign trail but if you are the nominee for your party, not officially the nominee just yet, that will happen next month. but you want good relationships with people on capitol hill. you want to try to mend fences with people who you had big disagreements with like mitch mcconnell and others in the senate, some members of the house as well. you think he has gone some distance, richard, to doing that today? >> i think he's trying to as we know mitch mcconnell was not in that frame and also as was said earlier mitt romney was not in that frame as well as some of the rooms up in leadership i think it's worth pointing out because we have heard that come up with him and i'm sure president biden will bring this up as well as what is happening in cuba. i think over decades we have seen an american foreign policy has been up, there has been foreign aid given to the caribbean but its neglect of focusing on how do we ensure our backyard is safe and our backyard is part of the american family? and i think we've seen this fail over and over again we see china making millions of dollars in investments both in cuba and jamaica and the bahamas where they are within their biggest embassy this happened during the trump administration's. this spans parties we need to have focused in on that the caribbean and our hemisphere understand america's a superpower and they look to america as a leader. >> john: when i heard the reports that russian naval strips stomach ships were off the coast of florida the only thing missing was a big middle finger balloon tied to the bout of the ship. i was thinking what would ronald reagan have done in the situation: what would jfk have done in the situation? we remember it wasn't going that far, but it was a pretty provocative move. >> i think adversaries are pushing boundaries because they have seen people push boundaries and get no pushback, right? i think this is where trump has a real advantage with the american people because he says a strong military, our money not wasted, russian ships off the coast i believe he said that would be unthinkable with me in office and frankly many american voters look at him and say i think that would be less thinkable with trump in office and that is something biden must contend with and have an answer for. >> not sure about that, i think during the trump administer ration or during the obama administration was on normalizing of relations with cuba under time some of that world back. at once again i think this goes beyond political party. we want the caribbean not to be beholden to china or russia and in america whether it's a democratic or republican administration has to change its footing toward the caribbean central and south america. >> john: center? >> sandra: here we go. richard, great to see both of you mary catherine hamm as well, i am just looking through some of the updates coming capitol hill right now, mcconnell after returning to the capital and for meeting with former president donald trump this just into us said he had a good meeting was his words, he shook hands with trump, and they called it an entirely positive session. i wonder, richard, as we do see this attempt to unify unity happening on capitol hill, does it make democrats nervous? >> i'm not hearing anything. go ahead. >> john: she was asking of all of the republican i mean she was courting mitch mcconnell saying it was entirely positive session just wondering if all of this show of unity on the republican side is making democrats nervous. >> i wouldn't say it's making democrats nervous because it's very clear that trump is the leader of the republican party. i think we know that by seeing how he plays out and how those candidates usually went. i think this is a clear sign to democrats we have to focus on are we democrats have to focus on is how to they unite their base and more so how did they unite folks who came to joe biden in the in 2020 and the 2022 midterms and were unlikely in this and that's what we are likely to see in the next days. >> i think in party unity trump can be mercurial. i'm not sure exactly where that goes. >> john: so far it seems all kumbaya at least at the moment thank you again. >> sandra: president biden meeting with president zelenskyy before the news conference and placing questions from reporters. martha maccallum ahead with reaction to biden's trip to the g7 as well as former president donald trump's activities in washington today. my name's eric. i am 39 years old. i've started thinking about getting botox® cosmetic for the last couple of years. i just see myself on video calls all day and i really start noticing the lines. i'm still eric and i got botox® cosmetic. i'm seeing a lot less prominent lines than i did before, the results have been subtle but noticeable. botox® cosmetic is fda approved to temporarily make frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines look better. the effects of botox® cosmetic may spread hours to weeks after injection, causing serious symptoms. alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness may be a sign of a life-threatening condition. do not receive botox® cosmetic if you have a skin infection. side effects may include allergic reactions, injection site pain, headache, eyebrow, eyelid drooping. and eyelid swelling. tell your doctor about your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. see for yourself at botoxcosmetic.com. ♪ >> john: any moment on president biden and zelenskyy said to have a joint news conference at the g7 in italy and while the president is out of town's top 2024 arrival sweeping and president trump meeting with congressional republican
