yet he referred to the murderer, the accused murderer as an illegal while misspeaking the woman, the victim's name, lake and riley. he called her lincoln riley and he doubled down. he called her lincoln twice. and yet he is not apologizing for that. in fact, president trump is coming out and calling out biden for mispronouncing her name. take a listen. he got the name wrong. lincoln and when he asked, what about all the legal citizens who kill people? in other words, making excuses that joe biden went on television and apologized for calling lincoln's murderer an illegal. he didn't want to call him illegal. he apologized. tom what are your thoughts? and it looks like he's meeting with the family. he's obviously using them in the rally. he's going to take advantage of this thing and he should because i mean, it was it was obviously embarrassing to watch him do that. the president. but it was embarrassing politically as well. i mean, when you look at it, you think like you said, guy, he's afraid of the people on the left. but why? why is he so afraid of these people? they're still going to vote for him. and you have so many people in this country, they're starting to realize the absolute horror that's happening, not just on the border, but everywhere in the country, because we have this flood of illegals coming into the country. and then they went ahead and they planned this improvizational moment with him. you know, he had that little button ready because when he started getting heckled, there, he pulled out the button and then he went into his thing and he said, yeah, he was killed by an illegal. he improvised the illegal word there. so he wouldn't have done it if he was . if he was, he wasn't looking at the teleprompter. he was off script. yeah, but it shows you that they the people on the left, the people in the press who are going after this, i mean, they're just as politically clueless as the president is where most people are is even if there wasn't a murder. i mean, we're just talking of the issue of immigration and the idea that you're talking about being. i want to be respectful of all these people who are coming across the border. people have had it. i mean, take the murder off the table and it's an embarrassing situation. well, i mean, anita, what's your take? well, to tom's point, i think the press is asking questions in a politically motivated way, today the president responded to the msn, abc anchor, i think it was yesterday. a reporter from reuters had an opportunity to get a few seconds in with the president to ask a question. and that's the same question that reporter asked. do you regret calling this person an illegal? imagine imagine that person could have asked what policies put in place from coming into the country. if you are elected, these reporters have an opportunity to ask substantive questions but they are asking politically motivated ones. >> there's a lot of talk saying the president did a credit for the state of the unit, it seems washington post is calling out the back early polling doesn't necessarily meet up with the hype. >> couple showed his worst performance in terms of audio watching saying favorable or unfavorable view of his words. it's usually a self-selecting group, generally fans of the president will student as opposed to people who hate the president and will father to do something else that night. i speak about rhetoric and words used? ♪ we are back and it's time now for the big weekend flops, that's our pics here. the biggest veils of the weekend i will go first, i think this story is highly entertaining. cannot see the vice president on the ground. there's no excuse given by the governor's office. they did not want to see that with the vice president. click straight on par cooks i will show up but no selfies. no photos at all. my biggest flop of the week involves the white house is silenced to a gold star mom lost her daughter-in-law when she was killed at a terrorist attack in afghanistan but here's what she told cnn about the president snubbing her family. >> he has not reached out to our family. we have actually reach out to the white house and have never heard back. we asked to meet with them to kind of understand and calling this a success we have not received a response. it has been months. >> her daughter was 23 years old but she lost her life with a 12 other patriots during this withdrawal from afghanistan we all remember the terrible terrorist attack she has yet to hear from the white house. her family has asked for a meeting but no response. >> at least they can do is have a conversation for. >> that is disgraceful disgraceful this calling card is empathy and consoling people. and this is the response? it's an extraordinary success and anyoinanyone who might ques, no time for them. >> it is sad. looked like it that a thumbs down. quick speaking of which it comes down emojis shut down the virtual town hall meeting. or the threat of layoffs came up. look, she is telling them all their being laid off all the thumbs down are coming up the screen. so i guess she said okay, meeting is over. >> what he shouwhat is she expes up? she's firing them. >> thumbs up wake, heart and moji, thank you. >> they could have disabled emojis for that particular zoom call? might have been wise. >> airlines are quietly cracking down on carry-ons like fanny packs out know i always wear fanny pack when i travel. just like delta and others are hiking bag fees are not happy about this. but i have something that's not a flop it is a win in my upcoming book is available for presale now you can get it wherever books are sold at barnes & noble is having huge sweepstake you can be entered for if you preorder from that. i love it free things i recommend that projects not just for moms. >> it's a collection of stories of mothers from box, outside of box gold star mom's. i laughed, cried, this book means so much to me. i encourage everyone to get it hopefully everyone has gotten it for their wives and a moms and d sisters. >> mother's day coming up a quick favorite? what's my stories and that of course talking about my three boys. i had my first on when i was in high sky talk a lot about that. also jennifer griffin, so many others at the beautiful book. >> it does make a great mother's day gift i'm anxious to read it so thank you. all right, that's going to do it for us we had a good time here. we're going to be back tomorrow with sue at 7:00 p.m. eastern for the big we can show. "life, liberty & levin" is going to start in just a few minutes. stick around. ♪ ♪ ♪
