ingraham angle" from washington tonight. we have a jam-packed show, including an interview with the parents of an 11-year-old who say their daughter was forced to share a bed with a biological man boy while on a school trip. and how rioters are compared. and poison ivy is tonight's angle. >> life on campus for jewish students feels like this. >> i was forced to leave my study group halfway through the semester because my group members told me -- deserved to die. >> being a jew at nyu means being physically assaulted while wearing an israeli-american flag and having my attacker roam freely on campus. >> a mob, many of whom were not law students or harvard affiliates, got into our building chanting phrases. i watched someone hide under a desk. >> laura: it took a lot of guts for the students to speak out. they did speak out regarding antisemitism at our nation's colleges and universities. shortly after the october 7 massacre, americans have seen what many of us have known for years, our institutions of higher learning have become institutions of liars earning big money for doing nothing. where were the diversity deans when the slaughter of innocent jews were held or do only trans transgender, blm types? when they are asked about antisemitism, pivot quickly to islamophobia. >> during these past months, the world, our nation and campuses have also seen a rise of incidents of islamophobia. we are seeing a rise in intimidation and threats toward individuals based on their identity as muslim or arab. we have launched standing together against hate in addition to fighting antisemitism, it will also fight islamophobia, also on the rise. >> laura: do you recall any huge rally on any campuses urging annihilation of muslims? mobs roaming about campus, terrifying international stations from the mideast? >> has there been a large gathering in support of slaughter of muslim or elimination of arab states that you are aware of since october 7. >> not that i am aware of. >> then you agree, they are not equivalent problems. >> congressman, i abhor all actses of hate. >> laura: that is rehearsed. this begs the question, what happened when students brought their concern to college administrators? >> day after day mit failed to enforce own rules on antisemitic actors such as the chaplin intimidating jewish students, dei staff declaring israel has no right to exist, faculty dismissing student concern for safety telling them if they are scared, they should just go back to israel. >> wow, fair-minded americans should be thankful for mike johnson, steve scalise and elise stefanik. supposed respect for free expregsz is what factor constrain their response to some of the pro-hamas rallies. >> free exchange of ideas is foundation upon which harvard is built and safety and well being are prerequisite in our community. diverse viewpoints are debated. those arguing for speech code, need to be countered with -- and we are doing that. >> laura: since when have the schools been known for respecting viewpoints other than those fiercely left wing? imagine this, imagine someone, i think pretty sensible, ron desantis, what if he came to speak on campus in an open forum in cambridge? i mean open forum, not invitation only, scripted questions. how would it go down? we know what routinely happens on campus? stan ford students shouted down judge kyle duncan. kristen hawkins was yelled at until she was asked to leave the room. in april at san francisco state university riley gaines was met by an onslot of trans activists and she was forced to free the building. last year political view of college professors demonstrate how conformity of thought is policed on campus. 50% of professors are liberal, just 26% conservative. self-censorship at exam time when a paper is assigned or a student is called on in class, we're never going to know how pervasive it is, but from what i've heard from sons and daughters in school or recent grads, they say things like this. i keep my head down. then i write what i think the professors want to read. that is how they get a's and now university presidents want to throw up their hands and say we're not for speech codes, they have always been for speech codes. come on, man, to quote joe biden. there is active wing in the antis antisemitic party. if the -- doesn't turn out, he could be in major trouble and colleges have resorted to this twisted dance that are bubbling up on campus. for their part, democrats have backed themselves into a corner and the best they can do is try to blame republicans. colleagues claim to be committed to combating discrimination on campus, they are simultaneously stocking culture wars that can be divisive and discriminatory. i hope my republican colleagues will denounce the culture wars. >> laura: i guess he's talking about biological men who compete in field hockey or swimming, those are vulnerable students, have you seen them? please. more bad acting. there is zero empathy for the jewish students traumatized here and they only started pretending to care when donors noticed. donors like bill achman. your views are protected. whenun stereos tell you life on campus is unsafe and there is a double standard where only certain people are respected, believe me. this fester antiamericanism and antisemitism will still be there. so now it is up to donors and alumni, to put their money where their principles are. that is the angle. joining me is one of the students who spoke today, a senior at upenn. great to see you. were you satisfied with what you heard from the university president today? >> not at all. particularly when elise stefanik asked if the code of conduct of university of pennsylvania allow students and professors to say and rally around the idea of the genocide of jews. it was a very direct question. and president mcgill said there needs to be context provided to calling for genocide of jews. i don't understand what context she is referring to and it is terrifying for myself and other students. the genocide of jews doesn't violate the code of conduct, are you serious? >> laura: are you surprised by what you have seen? i'm not surprised at all, i lived this in the '80s at dartmouth. it has gotten worse since then. the anti-israel and pro-hamas sentiment on campus surprising to you? >> there is going to be hate where anybody occupies space, there will be hate. >> laura: you can't outlaw hate, this is different from that. >> 100%, when students and faculty are not held accountable, it becomes a bigger issue and something that can end in a student seriously getting physically harmed and i hope universities agree that should be avoided. >> laura: i know you and another student are filing a lawsuit for egregious violation of civil rights law, but i want to play something else she said in line with what i said in the angle about what they are doing about all types of bigotry on campus. watch. >> we are in the midst of making certain that all antibigotry efforts ensure education on antisemitism. some parts of the program do and some parts of the program need to be enhanced. we are working on that now and will make sure that is included, antisemitism. >> laura: antibigotry efforts are underway on campus. >> i feel for anyone who experiences hate, jewish or not. as someone who -- >> laura: welcome to the world, i'm hated by a lot of people. this is different, this is calling for genocide of jews and excusing of beheading of babies. >> and what has been happening onnen approximaten campus started three months ago, since roger waters dressed up. these were professors inviting them and my class list has been shortened to not as many classes because professors, one of which tweeted during the hearing today issue had hashtag, gaza holocaust. >> laura: i think the antisemitism and antiamericanism is like this, gone like this and i am so happy that you came to capitol hill, as difficult as it was and i wish you all the best with what you are doing. we stand with the jewish people. thank you. joining me is victor davis hanson, from the hoover institution. this is the left the world has created. do you think there will be any awakening on campus on the part of administrators or is this legalese you heard from university presidents today? >> no, there won't be anything until they take seriously any effort to reform them. if congress people said you don't reform and treat jewish students as you do other students, we'll tax huge endowment or get the government out of the $1.9 trillion student loan business, they might pay attention. what is happening on campus, since 2000s, influx of middle east student who pay with oil-fed scholarships and if you are dei member of marginalized group, you can't be held to be racist because you are victimized and you can say almost anything about anybody else and you are exempt from any consequences. in the '70s we had 20 or 30% of jewish students in ivy league schools and because of new admission, where you don't judge comparative high school gpa's, jewish population has gone down to 10% and below. put that together and you have a huge group of people who feel there is no consequences in expressing antisemitism and there isn't. if you substitute latino, black, gay, trans, they would be expelled in two seconds, everybody knows that. >> laura: you would never see the light of day nor get a recommendation letter or offer to work. the president of mit, one of the preimminent institutions in the world addressed this. >> our staff are charged with making campus welcoming for all students. staff are being trained about antisemitism. >> laura: victor, 15 seconds, too little too late? well, she already admitted there are places on campus where jewish students were not safe and she just said don't go there, she has no credibility whatsoever and when students break the rules, they may lose student visa than enforcing laws, no credibility at all. >> laura: it is up to donors and alums now. why are well dressed chinese nationals shows up at our border? the video next. the power goes out and we still have wifi to do our homework. and that's a good thing? great in my book! who are you? no power? no problem. introducing storm-ready wifi. now you can stay reliably connected through power outages with unlimited cellular data and up to 4 hours of battery back-up to keep you online. only from xfinity. home of the xfinity 10g network. >> laura: why are so many chinese nationals crossing the southern aboborder? 24,000 chinese nationals were arrested by border patrol, more than the years of five years previous combined. wow. "new york times" says many chinese nationals fly into ecuador and pay smugglers to guide them through colom bia and panama en route to the united states. does the group in the video look like they trekked through the jungle? how did they get the rolling suitcases through and who is facilitating the trips? joining me is gordon chang. you think biden and xi in san francisco discussed the issue of all these chinese coming into the united states? >> actually, i don't think so, this is something biden can't deal with. he is allows thousands, maybe tens of thousands into the united states. on 9/11, it took only 19 terrorists to kill 2977 americans on one day. >> laura: this is why hunter biden making money in china is a problem for many reasons, but you wonder whether people look the other way. in fiscal year 2023, 21,000 of the chinese nationals who crossed were single adults. what does that tell you? >> it tells me these are saboteurs. they are military age, traveling without family members and pretending not to speak english and some have links to the chinese military. remember the secret biological weapons facility that was discovered this spring in california, that is pathogens and 1000 mice genetically engineered to spread disease and i believe some saboteurs were meant to take some of the mice and spread around the united states. >> laura: the numbers shocked yours truly and i thought i had seen it all. there is something very disturbing going on and you're the best person to talk about it. thanks so much. most republicans are cracking down on china influence in united states. patrick mchenry, the guy with the bowtie wants to let it grow. blocking amendment to the ndaa. he says he is doing it because the measure would strengthen rather than weaken the objective of xi jinping and chinese communist party. joining me now is robert lighthizer. how do you respond to that sensible legislation? >> we have to remind ourselves and i think gordon did that and you do it constantly, we're in a cold war with china. they are aggressive and threatening adversary and every time your viewers watch the news and watch wars going on, realize those are proxy wars and paymaster for both of them is china. this is most serious geopolitical threat we have faced as a nation. i start with that. the argument mr. mchenry has and i know mr. mchenry, he's had a great career in the house. he's a smart guy, he was chief deputy whip, he did good things. on this, the most important geopolitical issue is wrong. their argument is if you invest in china, they will become like switzerland, that is the view the clinton administration had. >> laura: it is ridiculous. >> by the way, at that time, you and i both said it was nonsense, this is the why we gave china this relationship. they are more authoritarian, more aggressive, more antiamerican, they spy on us more. they send over 24,000 people, frame of reference, that is about two army divisions. >> laura: bob, china is, let me say, china has structural problems, real estate collapse, other issues, why would mchenry and why would any republican, let alone any elected official want to throw them a lifeline? reagan didn't do that with the soviet union? >> it makes no sense at all thchl is very important amendment, not nearly strong enough. it was watered down by chamber of commerce and biden administration, it is important we pass this and i hope mr. mchenry realizes this is going to be very important part of his legacy, he's had a fine career and to have this as your legacy. one other point, he's one guy. 400 house members would vote for this, leadership is responsible, too, not just this one guy, everybody has responsibility. this is a very popular provision, 96 votes in the senate and get 400 m the house. >> laura: speaker johnson and mcconnell, we want to hear from both of you. blm rioters get off easy and joe biden just made a stunning decision. katie pavlich and ryan are here next. wow. so sudden. um, we're not about to have the "we need life insurance" conversation again, are we? no, we're having the "we're getting coverage so we don't have to worry about it" conversation. so you're calling about the $9.95 a month plan -from colonial penn? -i am. we put it off long enough. we are getting that $9.95 plan, today.
