>> lawrence: what's up, brian. it's great to be in the great state of georgia. we have john mclemore with us. we will be serving some folks and asking them about the great debate of the red states and the blue states. that's coming up on "fox & friends." i'm going to serve some food. all right. there we go. let's do it. all right. [cheers] [applause] my most important kitchen tool? my brain. so i choose new neuriva ultra. unlike some others, it supports 7 brain health indicators, including mental alertness from one serving. to help keep me sharp. try new neuriva ultra. think bigger. for almost 100 years, harry and david has been making gourmet gifts to share with loved ones near and far. because giving is about more than a day on the calendar. we believe the world would be a better place if we all shared more. harry and david. life is a gift, share more. i'm sholeh, and i lost 75 pounds with golo. i went from a size 20 to a size 6. before golo, nothing seemed to work. i was exercising for over an hour every day. it was really discouraging. but golo's so easy, the weight just falls off. only unitedhealthcare medicare advantage plans come with the ucard — one simple member card that opens doors for what matters. how 'bout using it at the pharmacy? yes — your ucard is all you need. (impressed) huh — that's easy! the all-in-one ucard, only from unitedhealthcare. steve stove all right. welcome back. republican presidential hopeful nikki haley getting another big boost this time from jp morgan's ceo jamie dimon who is urging business leaders to line up behind haley. dimon telling some of the world's wealthiest corporate leaders, quote: if you are a very liberal democrat, i urge you to help nikki haley, too. give them a choice on the republican side that might be better than trump. here with reaction is host of varney and company and american built on fox business stuart varney. stuart, does this surprise you because given back during the olden days, i think jamie dimon was on a short list to be treasury secretary during the obama days. >> stuart: that was during the obama days. that's right. he didn't make it. he didn't become the treasury secretary. i'm not sure exactly what his politics are. what he is trying to do is rally american business behind an alternative to trump, specifically, nikki haley. as you mentioned there, he said look even liberal democrats should support her because you have got have a choice that's better than trump. now, i find that a little surprising because the economy under trump was really pretty good. we had a #% growth rate at the end of his term. and now that's completely reversed. i think is he trying to say american business needs this alternative. we need somebody who will not go into chaos mode as trump would and nikki haley is the person. she is getting a lot of support. ken langone, co-founder of home depot. >> steve: the koch brothers. >> koch brothers in there. this pac americans for prosperity action that focuses on alternatives to trump they are backing healy. haley. the voters actually want trump but business wants hali or an alternative. >> steve: what he is suggesting hey, liberal democrats, it sounds like during the primaries, liberal democrats don't vote for joe biden because he is not going -- there is no primary really there. go to the republican side and vote look at those people but vote for her. >> just to stop trump. that's what that is all about. >> steve: reminds me of operation chaos that rush limbaugh did back in 2008 when he was trying to stop barack obama from becoming the nominee he said everybody go out and vote for hillary clinton. >> stuart: didn't work but let's see. >> steve: indeed. in the meantime, look at the numbers all the time. they are bad. financial numbers are bad. and now there is something called doom spending because it's the end of the world, we might as well blow the cash. >> doom loop spending know you can't afford it buy in any way. go out on credit card raise your credit card balance, you save a lot less money and i don't know how this is happening. i don't know how this works. because i got figures here. americans need an extra, an extra $11,434 to keep the same standard of living they had when biden took office. >> steve: right. >> stuart: where does that 11,000 bucks come from. that's 1,000 a month. where does it come from? you borrow it and dip down into your savings. save less and borrow more. that's not exactly a great situation to be in right now. >> steve: no i had canning. when you think about it. why save for a rainy day. it's rainy right now. >> stuart: you mentioned before -- what was the end of the world sex? is that what you were talking about before. i think you were actually. that livens up the interview, doesn't it. >> steve: after natural disasters like that where nine months later there would be some sort of a baby boom suddenly all these young americans born and it's how do you explain that? well, remember what happened nine months ago? >> stuart: americans want to consume again, get back into that mode. they can't afford it the way they would like to do it but that's the mode they are in. spend it even though you don't have it. go into debt. save less. that's what is happening. >> steve: check out stuart's show. it is great. it's over 9:00 this morning eastern time. it's varney and company and then american built monday nights on fox business. thank you very much. >> thanks, steve. >> steve: yes, sir. meanwhile, what kind of a day is it going to be? ask j.d. >> janice: take a look at it. still cold across the country. warming the temperatures up a little bit. although we did have freeze advisories for parts of the panhandle florida. it's raining. it's pouring and we could see severe weather over parts of texas and louisiana up towards arkansas. even a tornado risk later this afternoon for the houston area. so that's going to be a concern. large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes, and heavy rainfall could cause potential for flooding. that system is going to move across the mississippi and tennessee river valley up toward the ohio valley and then in towards the northeast. going to be not the greatest weekend for our folks across the east coast. we have a new storm system in the west. going to bring not heavy rain but mountain snow. good news for the skiers. too much rain is going to cause issues including flooding. i also want to make mention we have tremendous amount of rain around the hawaii area. over the next couple of days through the weekend. so we'll watch that as well. we watch all 50 states here in the weather department, fox weather.com for all of your latest details. all right, steve, ainsley, brian, to you, my friend. >> ainsley: thanks, janice. >> steve: thursday "foxcast." meanwhile, fox news alert, in about 10 minutes, embattled new york congressman george santos will hold a press conference just outside the capitol building. >> brian: the new york lawmaker is set to speak out ahead of a possible third expulsion vote. >> ainsley: chad pergram joins us live from capitol hill with a preview. chad? >> the house is expected to debate whether to expel santos today and he holds that press conference just outside the capitol very soon. the ethics committee produced a scathing report about santos two weeks ago. >> if they want to send me home. if they think is a fair process, if they think this is how it should be done, if they are confident this is a constitutional way of doing it. god bless their hearts. >> house speaker mike johnson talked to santos tuesday. santos says the speaker did not ask him to questions. santos says he will not resign. some worry about the precedents of expelling santos when he has not been convicted in court. >> i personally have real reservations about doing. this i'm concerned about a precedent that may be set for that so, everybody is working through that and we will see how they vote tomorrow. >> jobs and other g.o.p. members are leary of expelling santos before he goes to trial. and some republicans wonder about expelling santos amid a dwindling g.o.p. majority. >> when we do this and we have a four seat majority. you are reducing our majority by 25%. i don't think that's very smart. i will gainer damn tee. democrats don't do it. in the republican party we eat our young. three were members of the confederacy, the other two refused to resign after they were convicted. back to you. >> steve: chad, 10 second answer, will he go? >> good chance that they get above the two thirds threshold because there are so many republicans now on board that vote could come tomorrow. >> steve: all right. when he speaks out, we will take it live. >> brian: a special election too even before the election coming up in less than a year. >> ainsley: he represents an area out on long island. >> brian: tough for republicans to win he flipped the seat. >> steve: chad, thank you very much. >> ainsley: trump vowing to make the country great again for young americans. >> brian: l.j. is in fortson, georgia, asking voters what they think. hey, l.j. >> steve: it's a sing along.
