former secretary of state died at his home in connecticut yesterday. he was 100 years old. >> griff jenkins joins us now to look back at the remarkable life and legacy, griff. >> really remarkable. influence shaped american foreign policy for more than 50 years advising five presidents from nixon to trump. >> kissinger is a man who is known to all people who are interested in foreign policy. >> standing here next to the president of the united states. >> griff: kissinger fled germany as a teen coming to america in 1938. becoming an american citizen in 1943. joining the army, shipping off to fight the very country he fled. receiving a bronze star for meritorious service earned masters and bachelor's from harvard. first got noticed by nixon who appointed him as national security adviser in 19 # 9. ultimately served as secretary of state for both nixon and ford. is he noted for easing tensions with the soviet union during the cold war and establishing u.s. diplomatic regions with china. face wearing that american -- native american head cress. here's the thing. he is native american. and now we know more about why he painted his face black and red. it's chiefs colors. >> brian: he >> well, it was a culmination of a lot of things. mainly it was the pandemic lockdowns. we had a little 2-year-old, he was in day care. just watching him force the mask on him every day it was heart breaking and tough and seeing his face every day leaving and going to work. and then you know, it's other things, you know, seeing the taxes not going to useful policies and then also, you know, my wifes she wars god to get the vaccine mandate which she had complications from right out of the gate. ultimately she set a timeline the hospital did for getting the booster shot, which is april 28th. and then so then when we set our timeline that we have to get out of florida. those are kind the like the key items. >> ainsley: terry, how about you moved to winter park in orlando a beautiful area. >> i was actually born and raised in central florida, ainsley, i moved to california in 1986. it was not as liberal as it is now and as time went on, we kept getting more and more liberal laws passed. we got a super majority in the legislature that kept passing more laws and more regulations, the cost of living went through the roof. in fact when i moved from california to texas. it cost less today it's probably 75% higher. i saw this coming years ago you know what? i'm going back to florida. florida is a free state. we have a governor, a lengths lay temperature that actually looks after the constituents vs. california which i think california legislature, they think that citizens serve them. and their needs. that's why i moved bark. it's just a much freer place to live. much less cost of living. and i'm much happier here. >> ainsley: craig, tell me how your life is different in florida compared to california. >> it's a big difference. so, and in california there is really not a sense of community. and then also, too like
