>> hey, guys, good morning. for the third straight evening last night. a group of hostages was released by hamas as part of this broader cease-fire deal. we are talking about 14 israeli nationals and three thai citizens. nine children and two mothers were flown by helicopter to this hospital. just outside of tel aviv, where they are receiving treatment at this hour. among that group, 4-year-old abigail, an american-israeli citizen. so often she was spoken about as a symbol of hope in israel and across the united states. yesterday, president biden speaking with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu about her case. both leaders excited she was out of gaza and on that list yesterday. now today we have been speaking with family members of the children at schneider's children's hospital about what this experience has been like for them reuniting with their loved ones. take a listen though grandmother who describes what it was like to see her grandchildren after more than 50 days. >> we hug them a lot, again and again and again. we cry a lot. we laugh a lot. it was like like -- like a wave, like a storm all the feelings flow up. it was amazing. >> as the israeli government works diplomatic channels to get more hostages out. we know israeli leadership is trying to show the world more about what happened in these small communities on october 7th. today, elon musk, visiting israel alongside israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu the pair toured the small kibbutz along the did gaza border to see the aftermath of that massacre. guys? >> >> steve: today is the last day of the four day cease-fire both sides are willing to talk about extending it but the devil is in the details. >> absolutely. we have been talking with regional intelligence sources and also people directly involved in the negotiations. we know the qataris and the egyptians working overtime today to try to get this deal expanded. the initial agreement says that 10 hostages would have to be released for every additional day that sees a pause in fighting. anyone listen to this government spokesperson who described what the next phase of this conflict will look like. >> and we want to see the second stage of that agreement go into place, to the extent is hamas is interested to releases who hostages i have seen they can't locate them that is horrific beyond measure and beyond comment. we suggest if hamas is interested in extending that hostage release pause for additional pause in the fighting to get the list of the names it is wanting to release. >> the israelis are going to do everything possible to use these diplomatic channels and get hostages out of gaza. but we have a firm understanding from the leadership that we have talked to and also members of the military who say that once this cease-fire is over. they will resume all ground and air campaigns against gaza. guys? >> ainsley: trey, you are at the schneider children's hospital that's where we saw that 9-year-old boy run down the hallway into his father's arms. hasn't seen him since october 7th. i was reading an article that said they believe 11 will be released today. is that correct information? >> yeah. we are being really careful with the list because they have been changing so much. hamas is using this as an opportunity to try and put psychologic pressure on israel. and they are very delicate negotiations, but, when they are released. the children will likely be flown here again to schneider's hospital outside of tel aviv. and you mentioned 9-year-old ohad he celebrated his ninth birthday inside gaza. once he arrived here, he was reunited with his father. he just wanted to eat mashed tomatoes and chicken. we have heard that from a lot of the families my grandchildren whole town wiped out and others have no patients like abigail. both parents slaughtered in front of her. so, man, it's great to be free, but life has changed. >> absolutely. you think about 4-year-old abigail, both of her parents were murdered on october 7th. and even that grandmother that we spoke with her son was killed. and one of her granddaughter was killed. while she was reunited with her other grandchildren today. this is still an incredibly painful experience. anyone who has ever lost a loved one, you know that feeling experiencing that today. mixed emotions at the hospital. reunited with loved ones, remembering that not every family member can show up because some of them are no longer here israel was solely responsible for the escalation. safe haven for religious terrorists as well they are like a sanctuary city for terrorism two of thehamas leaders lived t. they give them millions of dollars a year do the people of israel feel like they are getting a fair deal? >> they don't. and we should look at this deal and who is being released. right? it's a 3 to 1 ratio. every hostage that is released. the palestinians will receive three prisoners that were being held in israeli prisons. it's a mixture of people. some of them were in administrative detention that were going to be detained for around a year others were attempted car bombers, people who carried out stabbing and shooting attacks. yesterday really highlighted the exchange. you had these children that were being held here looking to eat pizza. they were exchanged for a woman who tried to set off a car bomb in israel years ago. and was facing more years in her sentence. and this was the exchange for three palestinian prisoners to one hostage. and so there is frustration among the israeli people. everyone that you talk to here, they say this is not a fair deal, but they are willing to do it because they want to get as many hostages out as possible. understanding this war ♪ over. >> this is a pause in the fighting. the conflict really just beginning when you look at the timeline of what the israelis have played out. >> steve: trey, thank you very much. life report from children's hospital there in israel. we're learning more about the people on the big screen who have been released. also, we heard a story this morning about how somebody who has got dual israeli-russian citizenship. ron kervio he was kidnapped from that raid. is he not on this big screen. is he still being held. his aunt told israeli public radio that he was in a building that was shelled and then collapsed and he tried to escape and he did escape. and he was on the loose for four days. and then he was recaptured. and hold back into his layer somewhere. >> ainsley: that little girl abigail that brian was talking about. >> brian: on the bottom in the middle of the screen. >> there she is abigail. she turned four when she was in captivity. she does have two siblings 6-year-old and 10-year-old. locked themselves in the closet 14 hours while their mom and dad were shot in front of abigail went next took to another little girl's house that she goes to preschool with american and israeli citizen. has both citizenships. she is going to live with her aunt and uncle and grandparents where her siblings are now. >> brian: they think it's equal change. you took a 4-year-old, you took an 85-year-old and you are getting back convicted criminals. so does anyone in this is equal out there, those people shutting down manhattan bridge yesterday? here's the headline are black voters leaving democrats behind? the question is do republicans have a game plan to get them back? we just had a panel join lawrence a second ago. let's listen to what they had to say. >> recent polls suggest a small but rising number of black democratic voters are turned off by joe biden's message. his messaging is not resonating with him like they used to. also, there is a perception that they are being left behind. this is supposed to be the greatest country in the nation we are failing our american people every single day. that is the frustration that americans are failing. >> brian: your thoughts if someone says what's the plan its for republican treat black voter. >> i would say you don't treat them based on the color of their skin. build an economy gives them an opportunity and i'm proud of what we have been able to do. i have been leader in the last two cycles where republican have lost in the presidents, the senate and the governors we won. who did we win with? we elected the most republican women. we elected the most black republicans since reconstruction. we elected the most hispanic republicans. it needs to be a party of opportunity. a party that everybody is welcome into. that doesn't mean we win the majority overnight. we have shown time and again there is an opportunity for you to be able to not only move ahead but your family as well. >> brian: there is a story today that the rnc has just $9 million in 2020 they had $61 million at the same time. in 2016 irhad just about the same. what's going on with the fundraising on the republican side because you have 70 lawsuits in 19 states on the election overall you have to try hard to keep the house majority. why isn't the money flowing in to the republican coffers? >> look, in the house we are in aening have toker position than we have been. 20 million ahead of where we had been before when i left. the recruiting is even continuing to expand. i just gave $3 million last week. i may not be speaker. but i'm going to do everything in my power to make sure republicans have an opportunity to win i believe if joe biden stays on the ticket it could be the very best night for republicans. we were in a stronger position in the house to have a better election cycle this time than the last two cycles when we won. you look at the retirement, spanberger, look at clot kin. these are democrats who retired in places that we were challenging. you look at restricting distrust in north carolina. pick up three to four seats. republicans should win. joe biden, the president cannot fix this problem. hills number one problem is his age you look at the economy. he champions the economy people found they cause this inflation. you look the a foreign policy. there is no president facing a re-election weaker than joe biden since jimmy carter. >> brian: you are in the prime of your political life. you are no longer speaker because of eight votes when you had. >> eight with all the democrats. >> brian: what's next for you to be a chairman of a committee? would it be joining a republican administration? >> look, i look at the one thing they have always found about me is i never give up. i don't know what the best place for me, but i am always going to work to improve this country. and i believe republicans in the majority. i'm going to work. >> brian: you also have to be intrigued by a position that gives you -- that is reflective of your experience. >> the one thing i have always learned growing up. surpass expectations in any job you are given. i don't care if that's pinging up trash and you will get another opportunity. i believe there will be more opportunities for me. it doesn't matter what the title is, i have an opportunity, just like everybody in this country trip to help improve it i'm excited about being able to do it. >> brian: lastly, this upcoming election speaker johnson endorsed donald trump you said i'm going to wait. did he make a mistake endorse ago candidate before the primaries started? >> steve: trey, in the last hour there was an update yesterday, an 84-year-old hostage, a woman was released. she was listed yesterday in critical condition. what's the latest? >> >> trey: yeah we are talking about alva. she is 84 years old. her daughter speaking out about her condition. she was in such critical condition the israelis did not take her to a hospital in central israel rather took her to the medical center city closer to gaza. she is 84 years old. according to her daughter, she was not given the medicine she was needed when she was held for more than 50 days by hamas. she is yet another example of the brutality that hamas inflicted on the civilian population taking elderly women and children into gaza on october 7th. clearly not giving them medicine or the support they needed to survive. critical and devastating time. but, again, doctors say today she remains in critical condition. they received her at the medical center and say her vitals were extremely low. her heart beat was low and she was cold. steve? >> steve: all bad. trey, thank you very much. all right. meanwhile, desperate israelis waiting to learn whether their loved ones currently being held hostage will be in the next round of releases expected some time today including our next guest whose cousin and 5-year-old daughter were finally released on friday. but, it's far from over as four more relatives including 3-year-old twins remain among the some 200 hostages still held by hamas terrorists. elena joins us now. i know you were watching one of the releases over the weekend and you spotted your loved ones and you immediately posted it on instagram or social media. how did you know it was them? >> i mean, i knew it was them because i know what they look like. >> steve: yeah. >> and we were hopeful they could be in the first group. we were just waiting. patiently. and it was very, very exciting to see them released. >> steve: absolutely. this is what everybody has been praying for. at the same time, it's bittersweet because you have other relatives still being held by hamas? yes, very bittersweet. four relatives. cousin, husband and 3-year-old twins. we are very anxiously awaiting news about them. we also don't know what will happen to -- because of now only women and children being released. >> steve: i know you have the other family members who are missing. do you know for sure they are alive? we do have some indication we have no idea. it's really hard to know. >> steve: absolutely is. i understand that after your loved ones were released doctors did reach out to family members and said, okay, you're going to have questions but you have got to ask delicate questions at this stage as they decompress from being held hostage for so long, right? >> right. i think the doctors just prepared my family how to receive them. how to be gentle and just handle this very delicate situation he think that's common practice and standard question i ask. >> steve: what would you like to tell the people watching right now about what your family has gone through? >> we have been through a nightmare. absolute nightmare of hell and psychologic warfare is very much real, you know we have high high coming home. on the other hand of low of waiting for the rest of our family mentionly and emotionally just taking a great toll. >> steve: it's has to buoy you and your spirits to know some come out. >> i'm so appreciative of the support and calls for the release of all the hostages. >> we are so grateful for that we would like to continue seeing support for all of the hostage families special for the soldiers and young men that are there. like hersh we are all waiting to hear what will happen to hersh. we need to pressure everyone to continue on this path of releasing the hostages as quickly as possible. >> steve: let's see if they are going to release some more today and god-willing family members will be in that batch. thank you for joining us. >> thank you so much. >> steve: hang in there. all right. 19 minutes before the top of the hour. coming up, a disturbing scene outside of the american museum of natural history right here in new york city. listen to this. >> good morning. i'm doing well. i know this was rejected by the house. but now the house is saying they will revisit it. what do you expect and why did they reject it? >> well, i believe that -- i believe there was not a clear understanding and it became an either-or proposition. you know, can you support public schools like i do but also supports education life and we need to keep telling that story and that's what we intend to do. >> it's $10,500 that's allocated per child that would normally go to a public school. if your child wanted to go public school that money would be sent there through the education savings plan. if you wanted to put your child in a private school. you could use that money to go toward the private education? >> yeah. that is correct. and another key point is that this proposal uses a separate funding stream for the education savings account. public funding does not go down. largest increase in public education investment in the history of texas. but it also empowers parents to meet the unique needs of their children and to make sure that they have the opportunities to skied. >> ainsley: i know the vote was 84-63 for rejection. some of those who voted against it were rural republicans and, of course, democrats did not like this either. why did they vote against it? >> i think it was a misunderstanding you could support your public schools and also give parents empowerment to meet the unique needs of their kids. are many rural republicans supported. this i have a district that's about 75% rural. rural republicans supports it well it. ♪ an either/or proposition. can you support your public schools like i do but also provide opportunities for every kid all of our kids are unique. i have tree kids that went through texas public schools. they all had unique opportunities and challenges. this bill simply provides every tool in the toolbox for parents and i look forward to continuing the discussion and hopefully changing some minds. >> ainsley: okay. well, representative, thank you for joining us. i wish you the best today with your debates. >> all right. thank you very much. thanks for having me. >> ainsley: you're welcome. now to a fox weather alert. more than 10 million americans are under a winter weather warning. the storm is giving post thanksgiving travelers issues. especially in the midwest and the great plains. some areas getting as much as 2o a.a.a. over 55 million people were traveling over the weekend. so let's check in our meteorologist a adam klotz for r fox weather forecast. hey, adam. >> good morning, ainsley. that exact weather system you were just talking about is beginning to bring cold temperatures across the country. we can feel the temperatures actually dropping here this morning out on fox square, a lot of folks are going to be dealing with that let's dive right into it. first off, where is that wintry weather system, it continues to march itself off towards the east with that it's dragging that cold air if we can bring up the graphics we will see it. there is snow now running across portions of the east coast. that ultimately is going to lift off towards the north. still snow falling across portions of new york. last couple of days, a little bit of lake effect snow. pulling all of that cold air. this is what it feels like across the country right now. you see some spots in the northern great lakes getting into the negative tis. 19 degrees in st. louis. 29 degrees in dallas. some really cold air has settled in across the country. not too bad right now along the east coast. but it is going to only get colder here the next couple of days as you are looking there at tomorrow's forecasted high temperatures. ainsley, those are the weather headlines for now. tossing it back over to you. >> ainsley: thank you so much, adam. >> steve: let's talk a little bit about what happened over the weekend here in new york city. lower manhattan on the east side of manhattan, there you've got that is the foot of the manhattan bridge. and as you can see, a pro-palestinian demonstration essentially stopped traffic on one of the busiest days of the travel year. the interesting thing is they were calling for a cease-fire even though there was -- that was day three of the cease-fire. >> brian: idiots. >> steve: organizers said there is widespread support from people in new york city to do this. i got news for the organizers. people were furious they could not get across the bridge. >> ainsley: this happened on the busiest travel day of the year. it happened yesterday, sunday. people trying to get back to the city to get back to work. >> brian: it's insane because i was leaving giants stadium yesterday. everybody surface roads and you could not get anywhere any way on this type of day stadium of 60,000 people. you could hear people some of the quotes in the story listen i sympathize with you but i have things to do. i have to get some places. you have these models going i have a shoot i have to get done. and people have lives they have olive. who are you winning over by sitting on this bridge you? are not credit is firmly pro-israel. and this democrat president is pro-israel. what do these people do they even know what they are doing. >> lawrence: we got to get back control of our streets. this is illegal. they should have all been arrested for this. >> brian: it takes hours. >> lawrence: it takes hours. in the summer of 2020 they said this was okay. they did this in my home city of dallas. they shut down our bridge and the police chief had to bus be brought out. the paddy wagon and put in jail. guess what?
