>> not terrorism so far as we know. everything about this crash yesterday. seemed to put everyone on edge because of the timing and the location. much of this was caught on a surveillance camera as a car, you see it there. way in the background careened through an intersection and then flew through the air before crashing and cashing on fire. about 30 feet from me, i seen something airborne. i first thought it was an airplane. it looked like slow motion. i said my god, it's a car. then all of a sudden i saw black smoke, and then and then fire. >> a lot of fire. this set off alarm bells u.s. border check point at the rainbow bridge in new york. both people in the car were killed. customs and border patrol worker was treat ford minor injuries. here's what the fbi said about the crash. fbi buffalo has concluded our investigation at the scene of the rainbow bridge incident. a search of the scene revealed no explosive materials and no terrorism nexus was identified. still, right now, given what's happening in the middle east. you got thanksgiving travel and big events like macy's thanksgiving day parade in new york. everyone from the fbi to the tsa. the local law enforcement is on heightened alert and as for the crash itself, it may not have been terrorism, what triggered still a mystery this morning. the investigation is still underway. joey lawrence and carley back to you guys. >> lawrence: yeah, doug, that's the big question. although they ruled out terrorism what causes a car to go speeding across 90 miles per hour, airborne and then crash those are still unanswered questions. >> they were saying because the car was so incinerated it's going to take a while to figure that out. happy thanksgiving to you. >> joey: you as well. >> carley: we are going to stay on the border because, of course, there was concern that this was a terror attack yesterday. ended up not being, thank god. but it let people think what if, what if it was. news yesterday car explosion, border patrol caught 20 romanians who were illegally crossed from canada into maine, two of those members were flagged as from a transnational criminal organization. so there is a lot focus on the southern border. northern border as well-being highlighted today. >> yeah, joey, it's a big concern of mine. i'm from texas. most of the traffic that is coming across the border is from that area from all those sectors in texas. and so wide open we the criminals understand the biden administration has taken all the capabilities away from our border patrol to guard the area. they are just doing processing at this point. don't want to do 9 legal way and wait in the lines it's wide open even if you want to go to the northern route. >> joey: we focus a lot on the southern border. look at the terrorist watch list caught. part of that we have the northern border is a wilderness and for quite a few months out of the year it's a frozen tundra. so the terrain is much more difficult to sneak n other places other than the checkpoints sometimes than the southern border. the southern border has a desert and river there are a lot of hazards and reasons why one border is worse at one time than the other. the truth is our government -- current government hasn't taken our border security seriously. and here we are. here we are talking about something that happens at the border. our first thought is man, this must be terrorism because that's what we expect because that's what we have seen. >> carley: this is a wild post from chief patrol agent robert garcia. astonishing 550% increase compared to lazarus year by recording 6,925 apprehensions from 79 different countries between october 1st, 2022 and september 30th, 2023. how about those numbers? >> also, i know if you watch the channel, you hear us talk about the got-aways? that number doesn't include the got-aways, why does that matter? a lot of drugs coming across the border, they use that same route to do that. so often we talk about the people and i think it's a valid conversation to have. we got people we don't know their background. they don't know if they committed crimes in their home country. we don't know their intentions. we don't know any of that and they're coming across the border illegally, not being processed. but then you have got the people mean bad for our country that are using that same enterprise to get the drugs. and we know fentanyl is the number one killer of our young people right now. >> look back. i think our government should put pressure on deandre canada. how are these people getting in your country to come here. much like trump handled the remain in mexico policy. if they are in your country they are your problem. don't send them across the border to us to become our problem. i think that the belief is canada has a tighter grip and a better process than maybe a cartel in mexico. maybe that is a truth. maybe it isn't a truth at all. one of our congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez says i agree that the federal government hasn't done enough we have been pressure the biden administration to do. so all the time seeing constant increases of huge amounts of resources to the border. in fact, there have been proposals recently, dramatically increasing the budget for the border. when we haven't even been able to spend the money and fill the positions that were allocated in the last budget cycle. so we are overallocating in some areas, dramatically under allocating for things like what we are seeing here, shelters and other services here in new york city, chicago and other municipalities as well. i actually think we need to check the math. i want to hand it over to you guys. i want to say she is not far from where a lot of republicans are on that idea a lot of republicans were say going we just lobby for and try to deal for more money, without being able to talk about where it goes that really doesn't help us secure the border. she is not saying those words exactly but the sentiment. >> i had to read that three times to figure out what she was saying. i think her perspective is that we are spending too much federal funding to secure the border and then we are cutting back on social services. so, that -- it would be her position as a democratic socialist. one thing i do want to point out, this is something that christopher wray said when he testified on capitol hill a few weeks ago. and he -- when he did so, he said it in such a sort of monotone way. you know, he has a very even way of speaking i don't think people caught it. it didn't get as much attention as it should have. we assess that the actions of hamas and allies will serve as inspiration, the likes ever which we haven't seen since isis launched its so-called caliphate several years ago. in just the past few weeks. multiple foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against americans, and the west. he testified on capitol hill, we aired that testimony live. the biden administration knows about it. now there needs to be action to secure both borders. >> lawrence: such a valid point, carley. what's happening on the world stage right now. you would think that there would be some action. aoc, just to go back to her for a second, she was talking about the unfilled positions. you got to talk about how the border patrol have been demonized. whip gate that was not true. they are not able to do their day-to-day job. essentially border patrol agents doing processing right now. just say hey we haven't filled the position. let's get to why we haven't filled those positions. not pay them effec effective fog all the technology there. all the funding when it came to building the wall. there were things that they were motivated before in the prior administration. and now you took the wind out of the sails. >> joey: you are a texan, you understand this at the granular level. for most texans what we see is basically government is arguing where should we put this money are and where should we put that money while people are dealing with the actual ramifications of people crossing the border. fentanyl going into cities. no law and order no. actual border around our country. but we do have a great country and we have one we are very thankful for. >> carley: some people are it wouldn't be thanksgiving in america in 2023 if there wasn't an article questioning if we should be celebrating thanksgiving at all. this one comes from the nation, the title is should america keep celebrating thanksgiving? and this author goes on to say for many americans, the image of thanksgiving is one of supposed unity. the gathering of pilgrims and indians when a harmonious feast, but this version of on secures the harsh truth, one steeped in colonialism, violence and misrepresentation by exploring the indigenous perspective on thanksgiving, we cannot only discern some of the nuances of decolonization but gain a deeper understanding of american history. let's tell a different story by dropping the lie of thanksgiving and begin a truthgiving. i have heard this before. we are hearing it again. >> lawrence: well, i -- do you actually think the people getting around the table multi, you know, ethnic communities, i mean, we are almost 50% minorities right now as a country. when we are all getting together why are thinking about the slaughter of indians. that's just not happening. i think any moment of unity, the democrats have and the liberal perspective have tried to destroy and take us back to our past. i'm not saying let us not remember any of it. this is a time of unity. do you think the people that are gathering on the street on sixth avenue. >> ainsley: all those thousands of people out there? >> lawrence: are all talking about colonialism and wanting -- that's not just the case. people want to live a little bit. >> joey: i don't think there are a lot of americans look back and think the story of thanksgiving is that of feast. it was war to create this country. there were villains on both sides. if you know anything about the native tribes they went to war more with each other than us. thanksgiving was actually the celebrating of somewhat of a treaty between colonizers and some of the tribes against other tribes. it was messy. but here we set hundreds of years later in the greatest country in the world. a country that wakes up every day trying to be more fair, more prosperous and even in some cases more equitable. all of those things that a lot of progressives say are the righteous cause, that is engrained in our country. we want everyone in this country to have an opportunity, and we can't sit down and be thankful for that without being scolded and preached at?
