it's 7:00 p.m. and polls have just closed for races in two major states. first in virginia where control of the legislature all 140 seats it's up for grabs as well as the slew of school board races and other county races. and, remember the outcome in the commonwealth of virginia is one of just four states with legislative elections this year. mamay be a bell where of what is to come in 2024. we'll see. then we have kentucky where incumbent democrat governor andy beshear is trying to fend off a challenge from the state's g.o.p. attorney general daniel cameron. now, remember, beshear's dad was also governor and pretty popular back in 2015. now, polls are still open in ohio for another 30 minutes or so. and polls in mississippi close in one hour. now, governor tate reeves is fighting for his second term and is he going to make his final push right here on the angle in moments. now, these elections come as democrat anxiety, we talked a lot about this last night, is building nationwide as biden's poll numbers among key demographic groups continue to drop. and we have seen democrats are fracturing over the middle east as young voters and americans are now threatening to stay home and not vote next year. and, of course, they are pointing to biden's support for israel as the reason. some have even given biden a new nickname. [chanting genocide joe] >> laura: i think he would rather have sleepy joe than genocide joe. well, what did democrats think was going to happen? i had to ask this question tonight when they embraced the radical anti-american left? i mean, they helped nurture them in colleges and universities. they knew what they were being taught. and now we have a bunch of belligerent ne-yo socialist and professional protesters, essentially. and now those agitators have their own voices on capitol hill. >> my perspective is needed here now more than ever. this movement for a cease-fire is much bigger than one person. it's growing every single day. who will continue to call for a cease-fire. >> time has expired. >> we continue for liberation. >> gentlewoman's time has expired. >> the right and liberty. >> this is a place where our black and brown staff members repeatedly speak of experiencing racism and sexism, islamophobia. elevators, xenophobia and more right here in this workplace. >> no more. >> gentlewoman's time has expired. >> did she say get pushed off of elevators? and now we are hearing that tricky dick durbin. are circulating a draft memo tonight on capitol hill insisting that the united states -- we predicted this was going to happen anyway. that the u.s. should open the immigration flood gates and take in lord knows how many gazans who are displaced by the israeli counteroffensive. yeah, that's a great idea. let's import another nightmare into our country when we can't even keep track of the 8 million people biden has already let in. and how does all of this, including the economy and all these other important issues, how does it all effect next year's election? and how will an infeeble, barely coherent joe biden stand up to all this political pressure? we're going to unpack all of this later in the show. but, first, as i mentioned, polls in a number of states just closed moments ago. i voted in virginia. my daughter voted for the first time. it was very exciting. and one of the most important states, of course, is in virginia. most political poll watchers suggest this could be not just a portending what might happen in 2024 but a key driver of governor glenn youngkin's future ambition. now we go live to stafford, virginia where fox's senior national correspondent rich edson is standing by. rich, what are you hearing tonight? >> rich: hi, good evening, laura. well, they just made the call right here. the polls have closed in stafford, virginia across the rest of the state of virginia. they are packing everything up right now. governor glenn youngkin has been out campaigning throughout the day. he has been hitting a number of different locations. we met up with him close to here in fredericksburg, virginia. he told us is he expecting big turnout here. he says it's going to be close. he has been campaigning over the last several weeks and a lot of these really close districts. there is a handful of them where this race is going to be decided and he says he expects it's going to come down to a few hundred votes. what republicans are try doing here is keep the house, control of the house, flip control of the senate. that would give them unified control of the government. and let them pass their agenda. youngkin told us that he also believed that what they are doing here in virginia, what they are trying to pass here in virginia is going to set the conversation or at least be a very big part of it when it comes to the general election next year, all the way going through november in the presidential election. now, if republicans do get control of the house and senate, some of the things they have been talking about are stronger penalties for fentanyl dealers, more parental notification in schools. environmental regulations, potential roll back of gun control measures and also pushing limits on abortion after 15 weeks. that and gun control, those are really the two big issues that democrats have been speaking about in this election. they have been calling in the big political names across the political spectrum, former president barack obama recorded a robocall. he has been tweeting about these elections trying to get democrats to come out here and vote here, president biden, vice president harris, they have endorsed nearly two dozen candidates across the state of virginia in those really tight races that are really going to decide this. talking about those issues as well former house speaker nancy pelosi was in virginia, maryland governor wes more who is a democrat he was campaigning in virginia. so this is a real national focus that we have had here and also a lot of national and state money. glenn youngkin's pac has raised $18 million. national and state democrats have spent several million dollars on these races. enough to the voting is finished. they have had about six weeks of early voting. that ended saturday. in person voting was today. they are going to just start now opening up those ballots and count. unclear if we are going to get a result tonight. if you listen to what the governor has to say, this is going to be a really tight election. a really tight result. and these really narrow districts which we will be watching. this one could go long. that's something we are going to find out right now. back to you. >> laura: all right. rich. thank you so much. the left is clearly -- >> -- is it too bold to say that after tonight we will understand how the political climate has shifted from 20 to 22 and now into '24? >> virginia, in particular, will tell us whether we are still operating in a world like '22 or whether it is further deteriorated for democrats. >> laura: so the left is clearly desperate to hear some good good tonight in virginia after a number of abysmal polls for biden. joining me now to discuss this and more is newt gingrich, former speaker of the house, fox news contributor. newt, now, we are going to get a few more states in moments but let's start with virginia, now, what will these races tell us about 2024, given the number of democrats, as rich just said who turned out here in virginia to demonstrate the power of the party machine. and they put enormous amount of money into virginia and into ohio and into kentucky. they outspent the republicans by quite a margin. >> i think this is a fascinating test, first of all, because governor youngkin has done a great job. is he at about 57% approval. he is bringing a lot to the table. he has raised a fair amount of money. but the democrats understand, if they lose badly tonight in virginia, that's a terrible omen for '24. and will increase the demand that biden quit running for re-election. so there is a lot at stake here. it's also a good test of whether you can take governor who is very problem solving, go into the suburbs, just remember, are very heavily federal employee and are dominated by "the washington post" coverage. and so, virginia is always in recent years uphill slog for republicans youngkin taking on, done a great job. he has had a very intelligent program of early voting and the truth is i don't care what the polls tell you i want to see what the american people who cared enough to go vote is a very important test of what's going on out there. and i think you are going to see in kentucky, new jersey, mississippi, some local races in new york, it's very interesting test of whether biden has depressed the democrats and whether the issues have aroused both republicans and independents. and i'm very much looking forward to the results tonight. >> laura: well, newt, an unhinged man went after a republican poll worker who was handing out sample ballots in arlington, which is in northern virginia today. watch this. [shouting] >> people tried to overthrow the election. you might as well have been walking my head on the way to the polling station. putting a gun to my head. try to tell me not to vote. you try to steal my vote next year, i'm going to [bleep] remember you personally. bible beating bigots and freaks. >> laura: i wish we played the whole thing. it actually -- it is actually hilarious because these people are so absolutely untethered to reality, newt, i don't think that message of radicalism and anger really does work. i think it looks desperate and frankly sad. >> look, i tell every audience, what you're seeing on the hard left is not a political problem, it's a mental health problem. these are people who genuinely are out of touch with reality. they live in a very strange paranoid world. they have, you know, i mean, people, for example, who can rally in favor of cutting off the heads of babies, are pretty sick. it's not just a political argument. the people you showed a while ago on the floor of the house who were babbling some of the most inco-hashtly, they are defending a level of terrorism that takes you back to the middle ages. this is barbaric behavior. and, yet, in their minds, it's all perfectly appropriate. so, they could easily have been the person walking up to that poll worker, in virginia, and it tells you, i think, how deeply fanatical the hard left has become. >> laura: i mean, what happens if trump wins next year? i mean, i don't think we have enough mental health, you know, counselors in the united states to deal with the grief that they're going to feel. i'm not trying to get ahead of ourselves we saw in 2016 when hillary lost. they were wailing and gnashing teeth in the street. >> there was a left wing democratic project in june of 2020, trying to game out what they would do if trump won re-election. and it basically was a genuine effort of thinking through an insurrection. when trump won and they were shocked, they had meetings in eight cities the following day. it's not like let's give him a chance. it's like immediate, they decided they had to undermine and defeat him series in the american spectator right now trying to explain how we got to the current disaster. and the level of paranoia, the level of hatred on the left the degree to which they -- they just don't hate israel, they hate america. constitution. it's one in the same. enormous problem. newt, thank you so much. great to see you don't. thest results for kentucky's gubernatorial election is starting to come out. have the latest on the ground in moments, ohio polls are closing in just minutes. abortion and weed are on the ballot there. big money flowed in to the state of ohio. we are going to get close to the polls closing in mississippi where governor tate reeves is fighting for second term. we understand there may be court challenges to keep the polls open in certain districts. and his last stop of the night, tate reeves is right here on the angle. he joins us next. don't go away. honey, i think i heard something. ok. ♪ from christmas tree mats... to floorliners... cargo liners.... no drill mud flaps... seat protectors... and more... weathertech has the perfect holiday gift. honey, is everything ok? >> law, as most election night parties go, it's a good part of the evening. folks are drinking bourbon. listening to music. and enjoying the atmosphere here. we have a couple hundred folks. governor andy beshear supporters as well as lt. governor jacqueline coleman. buttons and signs showing support for the democrat governor. as polling locations start to report, how things are going. governor andy beshear has some key counties that are reporting in his favor right now. i want to talk about oldham county, specifically, it is historically a republican county but right now with 23% of votes in for the state, and a similar number for that county, he is up by nearly 17 points. and that's w what we need to be looking at tonight is county by county count and whether or not governor beshear is taking hold of some of those historically republican counties. talk about how we got here. governor beshear has faced adversity during his time in office. of course, starting in 2020 we all know what happened. a global pandemic shut down the entire country. but shortly after that, here in kentucky we had deadly western kentucky tornadoes followed by deadly flooding in eastern kentucky. so governor beshear has said we need to get through this together. according to how he carried the state through those points of tragedy. and he has also said that he wants to be the winning team and to keep the winning coach on for another four years. of course, republican candidate daniel cameron is the current attorney general and he has touted his ties to former president donald trump, gaining his endorsement as well as hoping to bring kentucky back to what he calls republican common sense values. we are just getting started here for this evening's watch party there will be a lot numbers to sees a they come in. back to you, laura. >> laura: all right, monica, thanks so much. and that rowdy crowd now. we are just about 40 minutes away from the polls closing in mississippi as republican governor taste tate reeves trieo win a second term against brandon presley, yes, cousin of elvis. and what better place for him to do his final push than right here on the angle. governor reeves joins me now. all right, gov, what's your message for the people of mississippi tonight? a lot of folks watching this race. why would this be that close in mississippi and your answer to that is? >> well, the reason for that is that 80% of brandon presley's money has come from california, new york, and washington, d.c. literally liberal billionaires spending millions and millions of dollars in mississippi. over $12 million, my opponent will spend in the state of mississippi this year. 80% of which came from out of state. we are confident that people are going to show up at the poll today. we have 40 more minutes to get out. if you are in mississippi and haven't been to the polls yet, go vote. let's honor a veteran today and get out and vote and vote to keep mississippi red because we know what blue state governors did in blue states during the global pandemic and what they would do to our state because that $10 million that he received from california and new york, that ain't charity. they don't just want to change the governor of mississippi. they want to -- they don't want to just change the governor. they want to change mississippi. >> laura: the "new york times" wrote this of your opponent, mrs campaign has been built on a bet that his human touch and populist platform can forge a coalition of black and liberal white voters some disinterested republicans among them that is robust enough for him to win. governor, is he trying to posit himself as a -- kind of a democrat populist, maybe trying to pull some of the maga crowd his way. does that ultimately fly in your state? >> what i would tell you is older gentleman told me on the campaign trail 10 days ago. look, what you need to say in every group if a man stands up and tells you is he a democrat best thing you can do is to believe him. the fact of the matter is, my opponent supported hillary clinton in 2016. my opponent supported joe biden in 2020. and so for anybody in mississippi or anyone watching tonight, that thinks that joe biden is doing a great job for america, then they can elect this guy to run mississippi. but if you don't believe that, and i don't think very many mississippians do, they we got 44 minutes to get out to the polls and vote for true conservative leadership in the great state of mississippi. >> laura: well, mississippi is an up and coming state. a lot of friends have moved there and investing there, governor. we wish you the best of luck tonight. we will be watching. >> thank you. >> laura: moments ago a new cnn poll just dropped and surprise oh more bad news for joe biden. former president trump leading biden 49 to 45% among registered voters. but when you look inside the numbers, things start to get really bleak for the democrats, among voters younger than 35. 48% now supporting trump, and 57 -- 47 biden. i can't even read i'm so shocked. and among latino voters, trump is getting 46% which would be historic for republicans. joining me now, again, these are new numbers. kellyanne, former senior counselor to president trump and fox news contributor. kellyanne, this reflects what we saw in t siena "new york times" poll that came out a few days ago. that is not an outlier, that other poll. this is a trend. >> this is a trend and becoming accepted wisdom. laura, when you look at the swing state polls, they kind of mirror the national numbers, which is not always the case. and everything is coming up trump for a couple of reasons. it's partly because of trump's one term in office and his accomplishments and partly because of biden's one term in office. and the fact that very few people including in his own party have confidence in his competence. when you look at the cross hazards you have. you see joe biden that suffers a gender gap. joe bid
