>> they lost their lives, thousands putting lives on the line every day. will: they are allowing palestinians civilians to get out of northern gaza. social media posts, if you care about yourself and your loved ones heat our instructions to head south. rachel: mike tobin live on the ground in southern israel with the latest. what are you hearing? go ahead. i was just going to say. >> reporter: i was going to say. got the delay we are competing with. as far as what i'm hearing, evacuation corridor has been opened up for an hour and will be open another two hours, not necessarily going that smoothly. the seeds of devastation in the northern end of the gaza strip with the refugee camp, the combat on the ground, the threat to life in the northern end of the gaza strip. there are two main roads. in the middle of the gaza strip, there's the beach road to the western side of the gaza strip that moves along the beach. most people prefer the beach road, easier traveling. the people there could see the beach road and there was a strike on the beach road so what i hear from gaza contacts, they saw the strike, they are not moving south. if they do move south, they were north of the evacuation line. if they move south there have been strikes, israeli forces operating south of the evacuation line. here's a spokesman for the idf. >> many hamas leaders in gaza, we will strike the same methods we use, trying to differentiate between civilians and terror forces. >> reporter: fighting is intense. the palestinians sources, israeli troops made it all the way to a neighborhood that is south of gaza city and that's where the population really starts to get dense. the fighting will only intensify from that point. a lot of roadside bombs and command and control infrastructure and establishing roots for resupply as this over offensive drags on. pete: what do we know about casualty numbers of hamas fighters and idf so far as the combat has turned to the ground? >> reporter: we usually get numbers every day, casualty figures with the idea of cross 300 a couple days ago and the casualty figures when they enter the ground with the idf soldiers were 20 fighters and that includes officers, 20 soldiers who have gone and participated in ground operation. we haven't gotten a new casualty figure out of them. in terms of palestinian casualties those are in the thousands. will: thousands are on their way to washington to what could be the largest pro-palestinian march in history. pete: anti-israeli protesters delay a military cargo ship as part of a rally in oakland, california. >> reporter: good morning. this is a national march in washington, free palestine, coalition of palestinian, muslim american and antiwar organizations hoping it will go down as one of the biggest ever with groups of the answer coalition organizing with those for more than 50 cities, selling out in places like chicago and boston, new york, tampa and michigan. rashida tlaib among others, an outspoken critic of president biden refusing to take down the tweet wrongly accusing israel of bombing a hospital in gaza and demanding an immediate cease-fire. >> the american people are not with you on this one. >> we will remember in 2024. >> reporter: for more than 30 speakers that mark their way down by the white house. organizers expect that. law enforcement could be in for a busy afternoon. look at this footage in oakland. a good professor protesters delay the military cargo ship from departing for nine hours. the protesters claim the ship was carrying weapons to israel and us authorities have not confirmed that and it comes when we see massive turnout in places like london. we see these pictures, tens of thousands taking to the streets. another london protest is due to begin and hours. finally, i will be out in today's march later this afternoon it will be a chance for protesters to stay in front of the white house and shout their message accusing president biden of genocide, the attack into gaza. the president won't be there. he will be at his beach house in rehobeth. will: these are not spontaneous rallies. these are highly organized. when you see cargo ships, that is a lot of information behind the way to put that together. who is funding these protests? >> reporter: every time these get going whether it is black lives matter, go back to the iraq and afghanistan war efforts during the bush administration it appears the one here, the one in washington is largely organized by the answer coalition going all the way back to the early 2000s and they organized a long list of these buses many of which are sold out in places like we mentioned from boston, new york, michigan, tampa, all across the country, to bring people here. we will find out who is funding it. they have permits in the city in freedom plaza throughout the city by the white house. pete: you asked the right question that was on my mind. the answer coalition, very -- the act now to stop war and racism, they are self-described as anti-imperialists and self-described as socialists, communists, they made many anti-semitic statements. this is a hard left organization. that has now joined the in the oprah's are oppressed hierarchy, decided israel's actions. rachel: the tides foundation involved in many of these protests. the tides foundation funded by george soros among others. it is interesting to see his role in this as a jewish-american who survived the holocaust. will: it will be interesting as a follow-up, it is fair to look at these situations and say what is driving these protests? how much of it is overt anti-semitism? i don't think it is the entirety of it. what is motivating the entirety of the group? i think you are right and talked about this. the modern mindset of looking at things through the world, in and of itself is an organized campaign dating back to the soviets. it is a communist marxist overt propaganda campaign. didn't matter where you drew the line, it could be race, trans, sexuality, doesn't matter. convince people you are oppressed and someone else's euro pressure and you can divide demand ccp doesn't matter. we know this. i bring this up because bill marr did a good segment, fascinating to see the light where he talked about western civilization is good. without a doubt -- the ultimate oprah search is western civilization and he did an amazing segment on this in which he said there should be more western civilization spreading superior values like the right to vote, equality, superior values. she was exulting western civilization. bill maher was doing this and he talked about this on friday night, the shadow campaign against president biden, gretchen witmer, gavin newsom. >> we like president biden and think he has done a good job, a wonderful job. ruth bader ginsburg did a good job. did not know when to quit. that is why you are here. not like others are doing this in a shadow campaign with gavin newsom. they are going to the battleground states. at least you are honest saying i'm going to do it. i called gretchen witmer. she would be an outstanding president. she is one of those who is running a shadow campaign. >> everyone is waiting until 2028. i am not sure we will have a 2028 election in the way we expect if the inevitable happens and it is president biden against donald trump. rachel: he is saying all the other people are chickens. they are doing this shadow campaign flying on private jets to important states for the presidential election are going to china as gavin newsom did but this guy phillips, dean phillips from minnesota is putting his money at his mouth where it's at, that is what everybody else should do, says he. >> he did his first town hall and it was a disaster because it turned into a shouting match about israel and palestine and driving the democrat party and activists, it is a difficult task to run for president mother alone against a sitting president in your own party when they blocked you out. that is what gavin newsom has done. rachel: on the republican side you had the panel with people weighing in on the republican candidates and the surge, nikki haley, which pete and i think is about desantis so we thought desantis could do it over again. would he run? would he be better off doing the gavin newsom shadow run? you might be right. pete: how much of nikki haley's rise reflects a latent neocon strength that wants to see someone talk about war the way she has. rachel: you think there's an appetite for that? pete: you have to consider it. she has been as far as you can get on that. she has been lindsey graham, john mccain, on this issue and she is rising. you have to go how much of the republican party base is still neocon. will: donald trump the clear front runner far and away, a contest for who could consolidate second place. that graphic has desantis in second. you can intertwine the two of them at this point. desantis was so beloved and so popular it never made sense to me, never did to run headlong into the most powerful political movement the republican party has seen in our generation and attempt to take it on. he tried to criticize but not criticize but then was getting punched by trump so you have to fight back. imagine if he had not declared, the premise of his candidacy just like nikki haley's is donald trump has to fall. the indictments would have to work, that's the premise of his candidacy. if you didn't run and instead ran florida and said i am here in case something -- pete: you think the shadow candidate -- will: if desantis had run the gavin newsom campaign he would be in the catbird seat should something happen to trump which i think he's going to be the nominee. that would be smarter than going with your political ammo and talking about boots and that is where the debate has reached. part of his slide moved to nikki haley. this debate coming up on wednesday is an undercut debate like without the guy who is way ahead. rachel: it's fascinating there's a neocon strain that's rising and that is why nikki haley is doing well or is it that desantis is going down and there are enough people who want an alternative to donald trump, maybe they are worried about all the trials, will he do this and when with everything they are throwing at him. on the other hand, donald trump, ron desantis going after donald trump has not been good for ron desantis, it could be the presidential race has revealed his weaknesses. he looked strong as a governor but some of his weaknesses which are connecting on a personal level are exposed on the trail. pete: he had to fight back. rachel: he had to direct all of it. will: those voters i spoke to earlier, and nikki haley supporter who campaign cochair, jazmine jordan is a republican iowa voter and what they felt about the upcoming race. >> political momentum, nikki has and she's booming, everywhere she shows up there are more and more people flocking to her banner. >> there's a divide. with nikki haley it is a shift on foreign policy. with trump you see america first. i know what i am getting with donald trump. he is consistent. he is reliable. he has the track record to prove he sticks to his word, something i'm passionate about, actions speak louder than words and he delivers. rachel: i don't think there is a neocon surge in the party. we are exhausted by war. pete: i'm not telling you if it is a good or bad thing. rachel: i'm not saying it is. will: what i am suggesting is it is always there. there is a neocon strain in the republican party that did not go away and you are seeing it reflected in nikki haley. i also think your points are legitimate. it could be the alternative to trump crowd looking around for anything. pete: which is why the donor class wants to consolidate that group for a long time, the only way you get near trump is through consolidation but desantis is going to run through iowa and new hampshire, the state where they think desantis would have to show a strong showing in iowa but he may not come in second. one of the things that will help clarify the calendar is the next debate coming up wednesday. these two plus joey jones will join me on fox nation. we will react to the debate. you are forced to watch it on another network but join us as we react on fox nation right after the the bait, you watch it and give you a breakdown. rachel: i will be coming to you from miami. i'm going to miami to do breakfast with friends so i will have a great breakfast. pete: he couldn't have said the name of the restaurant. rachel: just give it a try. la careda. i will have a cappuccino. all right. pete: a few additional headline starting with this. fox news digital exclusive. cameras in a florida courtroom as the family of a murdered microsoft executive faces his accused killer for the first time yesterday. during the arraignment former executive's ex-wife sheila gardner fernandez pleaded guilty to all charges including first-degree murder. she is accused of paying a hitman police say killed jared reagan in front of his toddler in jacksonville. new york city mayor eric adams is shrugging off his campaign practices after the fbi raided the home oppose she fundraiser leave it seizing documents and laptops, the democrat telling one outlet, quote, where there is smoke there is not always fire. the ongoing probe is related to an alleged kickback scheme involving adams, the turkish government and the brooklyn construction company. can there be smoke without fire? they are being nice, trying to give you something. pete: i don't follow it at all. will: coming up, the dream of homeownership might be further from reality as interest rates skyrocket and high school debt stacks up. rachel: how the biden economy is failing families next. will: tune in for continuing coverage of the war in israel tonight at 9:00 pm eastern. this isn't just freight. these aren't just shipments. they're promises. big promises. small promises. cuddly shaped promises. each with a time and a place they've been promised to be. and the people of old dominion never turn away a promise. or over promise. or make an empty promise. we keep them. a promise is everything to old dominion, because it means everything to you. when my doctor gave me breztri for my copd things changed for me. breztri gave me better breathing, symptom improvement, and reduced flare-ups. breztri won't replace a rescue inhaler for sudden breathing problems. it is not for asthma. tell your doctor if you have a heart condition .. your risk of thrush, pneumonia, and osteoporosis. call your doctor if worsened breathing, chest pain, mouth or tongue swelling, problems urinating, vision changes, or eye pain occur. ask your doctor about breztri. rachel: stephen moore is criticizing president biden for, quote, killing the american dream of home ownership. fixed mortgage loan now 7.7%, the highest seen in decades. as americans try to grapple with that reality, household debt totaled $17 trillion in the year's second quarter. stephen, welcome. explain to our viewers why it's becoming so expensive to own a home? >> president biden came into office and borrowed $6 trillion. never before have we seen this kind of massive borrowing and spending spree in washington. a lot of that money was printed so what happened was the federal reserve had to raise interest rates as inflation went through the roof and one of the impacts is what you are talking about, mortgage rate, do you know what the mortgage rate was when trump was president? three. rachel: i bought a house during that period. >> now it is almost 8%. for most people, a first time home buyer, their mortgage payment under trump would have been $1200 a month, now it is $2400 a month so it is double and as you said this is an assault on the american dream of home ownership. people can't afford higher rates and it is causing havoc in the housing market. rachel: they look at where their parents started their life come buying a home, they can't do that, they are living with their parents, renting and don't want to. there is obviously a political component to this. are you seeing the biden administration doing anything to reverse this trend, it doesn't look good in this coming election. >> you would think they would. the first obvious step would be to take a chainsaw to the federal budget and cut as much spending as we can. in the last month we borrowed half a trillion dollars. this is insanity and everybody knows it but the aid package, republicans say we have to pay for this, we can't keep writing checks and biden says we will keep borrowing and borrowing and it comes on the heels of a lousy job report showing the economy slowing down. i were the democrats i would be nervous, 70% of americans today saying this for the last year and a year and 1/2, the us economy headed in the wrong direction and they are getting financially squeezed by high inflation. rachel: i don't think americans understand how much we were borrowing, and young people trying to get -- >> it is the single biggest fastest growing component of the federal budget. not defense, not healthcare, not education, not roads, just paying interest on the debt. you can't run a country like that. rachel: can't run a family like that, can't run a country like that. thanks for warning us, which you could do more about it. maybe next time. >> may be donald trump can do something about this. rachel: you are looking at life pictures of gaza where the ground operation continues as israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu rejects the white house plea for humanitarian pause. general rob spalding is here with insight on that next. hi, my name is damion clark. and if you have both medicare and medicaid, i have some really encouraging news that you'll definitely want to hear. depending on the plans available in your area, you may be eligible to get extra benefits with a humana medicare advantage dual-eligible special needs plan. all of these plans include a healthy options allowance. a monthly allowance to help pay for eligible groceries, utilities, rent, and over-the-counter items like vitamins, pain relievers, first-aid supplies and more. the healthy options allowance is loaded onto a prepaid card each month. and whatever you don't spend, carries over from each month. other benefits on these plans include free rides to and from your medical appointments. you pay nothing for covered prescriptions, all year long. all plans have dental coverage which includes 2 free cleanings a year, fillings, and a yearly exam. they also have vision coverage including vision exams and a yearly allowance towards eyewear such as lenses or contacts. and hearing coverage, which includes routine hearing tests and coverage for hearing aids. you'll also have a $0 copay for the shingles and other routine vaccines at in-network retail pharmacies. plus, your doctor, hospital and pharmacy may already be part of our large humana networks. so, call the number on your screen now to speak with a licensed humana sales agent. wouldn't you love benefits like a monthly allowance to help pay for eligible groceries, utilities, rent and over-the-counter items? cease-fire. benjamin netanyahu says they will continue. what is your take on the situation? >> any pause is going to lead to further israeli deaths and more troops getting killed during the invasion or it is going to lead to more israelis getting killed because hamas thinks it can get away with it so i don't think it benefits the civilians in gaza because hamas doesn't care about them anyway. they are using this to get more israelis. pete: israel has to keep pressing if they want to maintain momentum. >> absolutely. they need to take defense and read gaza of hamas. we should be supporting that. we shouldn't be advocating a pause at all. we wouldn't be pausing if this was us. pete: why are we advocating a pause. what is this about? >> it is part of the propaganda effort not just hamas potential of things to come. let's go off the wall and get a closer look at some races that may shape the political landscape. off year elections are an opportunity for parties to get a sense of the public and where they are. will: not a political presidential election, not a midterm election. 2023. not year. but you could see an indication of the future. kentucky's governor race is interesting. governor, democrat governor in a red state. it is a swing purple state to some extent but both senators are republican but a democrat governor. pete: andy bashir is relatively popular. all things considered from what we understand about a 64% approval rating including 43% of republicans and this goes to his handling of covid. his dad was a popular governor. the economy is strong in kentucky and the tornadoes that went through the state that he handled well so even though the voter edges with republicans he's in a good place. will: if those are the things the driving popularity, competent management. often our politics inappropriately so leaned into ideology but sometimes it is just get the job done, covid or natural disasters and if you do competency can win support. pete: his opponent, daniel cameron, endorsed by donald trump but a right of center state, running a lot on education saying this woke ideology in schools, congress is not doing anything about it, i will. will: this is a big one. pete: kentucky is one of those states that had a trigger law after roe versus wade was overturned, complete ban in kentucky. bashir is pro-choice. cameron is pro-life and wants to make sure kentucky stays that way. abortion is one of those issues democrats think they have an advantage on. kentucky will be a test case for that messaging in a right of center state. will: mississippi is a governors race. the incumbent republican governor. his first name, he is related to elvis. pete: he's a distant cousin of elvis pressley. name id will be strong. will: facing an unpopular incumbent. it is misleading because you can see at the end, reeves is at 11 point margin, he does face some scandals that are headwinds for his reelection. pete: welfare scandals that have been in the background for some time. he won narrowly when he won in 2019, 52% of the vote, healthcare is a big issue. hospitals have closed in the state and there's a debate, one of the state that has not accepted expanded medicare. that's the difference between reeves and presley. how much it will resonate we will see. will: we've been talking about virginia, governor glenn youngkin because of the school walkouts in loudoun county. in virginia, when glenn youngkin won as governor and we internalized a message about woke politics and education. republicans also won the house at the time but there was not an election in the senate because of covid and information from the senses. this is the first time you see if the message has an affect in the senate or -- pete: covid 19 messed up the redistricting maps. in this election, he was put in power, the republicans took the house of representatives as well. youngkin's name has been floated in the presidential cycle and he has said i want to focus on virginia. that was part of desantis's premise, look how well we did in florida. a lot of eyes will be in virginia to see does the senate flip from democrat to republican and can he hold
