you, john. >> john: meanwhile more drone attacks today against the u.s. base in iraq. the latest in two dozen such strikes in the past two weeks. defense secretary lloyd austin will be asked about attacks on u.s. troops in the middle east at today's hearing across the street on capitol hill. meantime, rich edson live at the pentagon. >> the military says it shot down two more drone attacks in eastern syria. the pentagon is trying to separate these attacks from the israeli/hamas war in gaza. deputy press secretary says we have the conflict that's now contained to israel in gaza. then our own u.s. forces in iraq and syria there for the defeat of isis mission. attacks on our troops before not related to this and we have to remember we've seen this behavior before and why we have to keep it separated. the united states continues supplying israel with munitions, rockets for its iron dome missile defense system. a sizeable military deployment to protect u.s. forces in the region. on board u.s. central command deployed the marine unit in case -- supplying israel and ukraine to fight american adversaries costs money. you have the senate appropriations committee talking to lloyd austin and secretary of state antony blinken. senators can ask them anything they want. back to you. >> john: we'll watch that this morning. thank you. >> dana: alabama senator katie britt will be at the hearing today. she joins us now. great to have you. you went to israel and saw with your own eyes and testified as a witness to what happened with your own eyes and you spoke very movingly about that and now comes the part where congress gets involved to see about the funding aspect of this. how do you think it will go with the house side, with the new speaker saying they'll separate ukraine from the israel funding? >> first off we want to make sure we get israel everything that she needs to defend herself as quickly as unified as possible. to your earlier point about speaking direct throe what i saw, i think we have to continue to do that because unfortunately we have people in this country who are having trouble calling evil, evil. i continue to see reports about people saying it never happened. i saw it with my own eyes. these terrorists, monsters, these barbaric attacks were captured by gopro cameras. i've seen them cut off people's heads, rape women, seen them burn families alive. we must eradicate hamas and today in front of the senate appropriations committee we'll be asking tough questions. the questions that i want answers to, there are many. certainly as you just reported about the strikes there on our military personnel and bases abroad, that must stop. when the president says don't, my question is does iran understand that? we now say they now say we have red lines. does iran know what the red lines are? are we ready and capable to defend our servicemen and women and make sure that our nation and our country is safe? >> dana: for the funding for israel. do you think that will be smooth sailing in the senate? >> well, as you know, dana, nothing the smooth sailing these days. we'll certainly see what the house comes up with. supporting israel. standing with them is something that we're doing in a bipartisan fashion. people want to make sure they have the proper aid. we need to make sure that everything -- one of the questions i'll ask today if it's not asked before it gets to me is are we giving them everything we need? is there anything they requested we aren't able to get them? figure out what those things are and make sure we get the proper munitions and weapons to continue to replenish the iron dome and continue to defend themselves. i'm hopeful we'll get something moving one way or the other and get israel what they need as soon as possible. >> dana: do you think ukraine will get the money that the biden administration is requesting for ukraine? >> we'll have a lot of questions about that today, too. people understand that stopping putin dead in his tracks is exactly what we need because an emboldened russia affects china and iran as well. i'm not interested in funding pensions for the ukrainian government. there are a lot of things where we believe that our nato allies and others in europe can step up and do more on the humanitarian front and also questions about how these munitions work with ukraine making sure that they have what they need, making sure that israel has what she needs and also looking at taiwan and where those munitions, what is the plan of action there? if we do with ukraine it will be something that is more narrowly -- the headline is the global war on the jews. anti-semitism surges even in the west and shows why israel exists saying the disturbing fact of the past month jews are under attack not only in israel and not only by hamas, this is how the west slips from never again into nowhere is safe. for people who might not realize that you were a staff member, senior staff member on capitol hill on the senate side before you are a u.s. senator you understand the stakes here in terms of evil. you speak very well to it. we'll have a young woman on a little later who is a jewish student. she is going to college here in new york city and we'll ask her to put us in her shoes. what can you say to somebody like that to reassure them that the united states government understands the plight and is going to fight for her? >> we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you. i have made it my mission to make sure we speak directly to this not only about the atrocities that happened in israel as we know hamas and iran have said their main goal is to wipe israel off the face of the planet but also the jewish people. we won't tolerate this particularly on american soil. as we see these things happen on college campuses i'm proud to sign onto senator scott's bill that says we will not allow taxpayer funding to go to promote groups promoting genocide. when we said never again we must mean it, never again. we stand with the jewish people and we stand against hate. that's another reason we have to secure our southern border. what we saw happen on october 7th and then the open and porous border we have here in the united states it's really a tragedy and unfortunately we don't know who is here and where they are going and what their intentions are. in september alone we caught 18 known terrorists on the terrorist watch list at our border which is more than we caught in the entire four years of the previous administration. so we have to take this seriously and make sure we are not only doing what we do we're standing firmly with the jewish people across the globe and here in this country and let them know we understand never again and we stand with them and it means never again. >> dana: u.s. senator katie britt. you have a hearing in less than 20 minutes. we'll let you get to it. thank you for being on the show. >> thank you. >> extreme maga members of the republican caucus, extreme house republicans, maga house republicans, extreme house republicans. extreme republicans. >> does president think the anti-israel protestors in this country are extremists >> we've been very clear about this when it comes to anti-semitism. there is no place. we have to make sure we speak against it very loud and be very clear about that. >> john: karine jean-pierre yesterday saying there is no place in america for anti-semitism but refusing to call anti-israel protestors extremists. jacque heinrich live at the white house with more. they do tend at the white house to throw the word extremist around with some abandon, but not in this particular case. >> we'll get to the domestic issue here in a moment, john, but the issues overseas are beginning to be a bigger thorn in the side of the white house. you remember right after the october 7th attacks it was president biden who said if this had happened to the united states, our response would have been swift, decisive and overwhelming. but ever since the humanitarian crisis in gaza began to unfold the u.s. has been urging restraint and just yesterday prime minister benjamin netanyahu pushed back. >> just as the united states would not agree to a cease-fire after the bombing of pearl harbor, or after the terrorist attack of 9/11, israel will not agree to assessation of hostilities with hamas after october 7th. calls for a cease-fire are calls for israel to surrender to hamas. >> nobody wants to admit that the u.s. and israel aren't exactly in lock step here. israel is not embracing u.s. calls for humanitarian pauses publicly although time has shown they have responded to previous u.s. pushes to delay the ground invasion. officials here are concerned that any daylight between the u.s. and israel could give an opening for bad actors to take advantage of. >> what we have said should be considered and explored are temporary localized humanitarian pauses to allow aid to get to specific populations and help with the evacuation of people who want to move more to the south. we support that. we do not support a cease-fire at this time. >> the white house is trying to tamp down this evolving domestic problem. alarming rise in anti-semitism across the country especially on college campuses. >> we have seen an alarming rise in reported anti-semitic incidents at schools and college campuses. there is no place for hate in america and we condemn any anti-semitic threat or incident in the strongest -- in the strongest terms. >> the white house was careful as you noted, john, not to call the anti-israel protestors extremists yesterday. they denounced anti-semitism and the white house announced new efforts to combat it including additional help from d.o.j., department of homeland security and cesa helping to clamp down on this on campuses across the u.s. >> john: not describing it as extremism. jacque, thank you. >> dana: israel's delegation at the united nations invoking a horrific symbol of the holocaust wearing yellow stars from the nazi era about the war in gaza in a show of disgust with the united nations for their silence on hamas's terror attacks. watch here. >> just like my grand parents and the grand parents of millions of jews from now on, my team and i will wear yellow stars. we will wear this star until you condemn the atrocities of hamas and demand the immediate release of our hostages. we walk with a yellow star as a symbol of pride, a reminder that we swore to fight back to defend ourselves. never again is now. >> dana: jews during world war ii were forced to wear yellow stars. the united nations meets this morning. speaking of them the united nations security council convening on the israeli/hamas war. >> john: netanyahu channeling winston churchill saying israel's victory will be your victory as troops gear up for a fight that could be unprecedented. >> dana: new york city already bursting at the seems with migrants. how dire the crisis really is. >> the blame for that should go to the white house and to the governor who are not doing enough to make sure that new york city is not the only place that dealing with this. and it's natural. treat it that way. aveeno® daily moisture with prebiotic oat is proven to moisturize dry skin all day. you'll love our formula for >> we've interviewed and spoken quite frequently on fox and you keep asking me when will it going to happen? i said we're in no rush. we're strategic and doing things stage by stage, step-by-step and strike by strike. i would say what we've done is gradually expanded and continued to increase our activities in the air, on the ground, and at sea. we're taking the fight to them, destroying them and killing them one-by-one. just one example is from earlier today nasim ajina in the northern gaza strip, battalion commander was one of those that instructed and organized the kibbutz in the north where many people were butchered and massacred. we're determined to dismantle and destroy their capabilities. the stages that we do it, it's a very organized plan of action. that's why we've said that we are expanding and increasing activities in order to take the fight to hamas in order to protect our people. >> john: you have had some success taking out hamas leadership and you took out the person responsible for the parra gladeers. the leadership of hamas military wing, they remain elusive. do you have any idea where they are? >> they have a target on their backs for sure. we'll utilize all of our abilities and from the mastermind of the massacre, the man who financed it and organized it and gave the green light to go and all of the people. that is why we're moving to this paradigm change. reality on the ground is one hamas will never, ever be able to have the power of government. none of these people will be able to come out of this scot-free as to say. we're going after them one-by-one. this is the reality of when a terrorist organization that has become a terrorist government with a terrorist army decide to go to war with israel, i would say they made a very dear mistake and they basically signed their own destiny. they have no place in the realm of existing in the living. >> john: one more question of you. israel highlighted hamas leadership is operated from an underground labyrinth beneath a hospital and computers graphics of what it probably looks like. i'm reading that as a prelude to actually going after the hospital. am i right? >> i won't talk about specifics and specific intentions or operational plans but we're extremely concerned how hamas has turned many hospitals, not just this one, into command and control positions, into places of hiding out, of where they are taking refuge, not to be made healthy. hospitals are for health. but to use them to launch, stage, plan, collude, in order to conduct more atrocities. indeed, we're very cautious about hospitals because they are protected and they need to be protected. that's the right thing to do. but that right to protection is not 100% or not fully defended when it becomes abused by terrorist organizations. that's international humanitarian law and the fundamentals of warfare. when we're trying to operate within the realms of humanitarian laws like our brothers and sisters in the u.s. military, we are identifying places where this terrorist organization has decided to intentionally lay its terrorist infrastructure. intentionally abuses the civilian arena and intentionally conducts its attacks from these positions. they are jeopardizing the people that are most in despair. we're going to seek out and hunt down hamas. we are determined to come to a new outcome, a new security reality for the people of israel. and for the people of gaza as well. we all deserve to live in peace. >> john: thank you for joining us. >> dana: john, in moments top national security officials will be questioned in a high stakes hearing in the wake of the middle east war. our cameras are rolling. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get them. plus jewish students at some of the mostly let schools in america say they don't feel safe as anti-semitic rhetoric is spreading. a columbia university student joins us. >> i will not be gas lit. i am a black native american knew i shall woman and right now i'm one of those students who feels neither safe or welcome in her own home. we rely on hard work and honest manufacturing to deliver high quality, heirloom inspired bedding, bath towels and more, all made in the usa. experience the farm to home difference for yourself. go to red land cotton dot com and receive 15% off your order with code fox news. so many hotels... administration provides any funds directly to iran but rather allows it, critics say, to sell billions of dollars in oil in international markets in violation of u.s. sanctions. so in 2018, the trump administration imposed stiff sanctions on iranian oil and gas exports warning that anyone doing business with iran cannot do business with the u.s. the following here iran exported as little as 500,000 barrels of oil a day. under president biden, however, those exports have tripled without the same enforcement allowing iran to sell more oil mostly to china in violation of u.n. sanctions. >> the student statement aims to recontextualize pointing out that military operations and state violence did not begin with that day but rather represented a military response by a people who had endured crushing state violence from an occupying power for many years. i can't believe an adult signed that. >> it is beyond me and when i learned about this letter that was signed by the professors, this is what i mean when i'm talking about as i was saying in the press conference that the propaganda has begun to insidious. i comment in terms of undergraduate students the issue of lack of education, lack of critical thinking skills frankly and intellectual capabilities hopefully as a result of our relatively young age but to see now distinguished professors signing on. these are people who we have had previously considered to be experts in their field and at the very least people to respect and to see now that they are really setting up -- it really just shows that this will be a very long -- it's a generational thing. a long battle. they're willing to back up the students who are clearly in the wrong and that is not debatable. it is not. the fact that these professors are acting as though it is makes it clear this is going to be a seriously long situation. >> dana: i told the viewers i wanted you to put us in your shoes. i imagine it's very disorienting because there is inconsistency in what your fellow students will stand for. >> absolutely. just as i was saying yesterday they are inconsistent and contradictions all of which directly undermine their own goals frankly, which is why i like to point to these inconsistencies and contradictions as a way to show everybody, including the students who i might even consider to have fallen prey to propaganda, because some of us are unable -- we don't have these skills yet and still developing. so i think that these students, it's very upsetting to see these contradictions. >> dana: is it strange to be in we are a sisterhood and we are a community especially overall at columbia. and to now have that completely taken away is disorienting is not a strong enough word. really, it's devastating. i don't social media is the reason. it is not at least one of the reasons. it is not the sole reason for why we're seeing what we're seeing. this is what happens when you get your education and information on
