it's been a busy day. >> dana: it has. there's plenty to learn, and it takes a long time to understand it, and it's worth the investment. first of all, i do think and i'm not just saying it because i work here -- the coverage on fox news is incredible. remember, fox news did not jump to conclusions and say that israel had bombed the hospital. smart enough to know that when hamas officials say that israel bombed the hospital and 500 people died, you say "it's make sure that's true." that wasn't true. ten days later, you have mainstream media like "the new york times," bbc, reuters, others saying "we should've waited a moment." i think our coverage here is great, we have good people in the field. listening to some of the podcasts, the nonmainstream media is really good. barry weiss. if you are looking for something that's good forever ready to read and your family, especially junior high, high school, college students, "the free press" by barry weiss is excellent. i listen to the magazine podcast every day the nurse "call me back with dan dan -- " -- -- there is not a moment that you spend in college that could be more important in this. partly because now, you have a situation where the most important class in u.s. politics is the older liberals who are running institutions, and the younger base who wants to upend all of those institutions. we are going to be dealing with this for a generation. whatever happens in the next year or so, six months, however long it takes for israel to do it it's going to do, that's important, but this is a generational struggle. radical islamic terrorists who hate your way of life, they are patient. they don't stop. learning about it now is really important. it's a great question. >> greg: thank you, dana. that was helpful. >> dana: thank you. >> greg: piers, what's your take? [laughter] >> piers: i watched you yesterday. you said -- "what a weirdo." this is incredible complicated politically, militarily, all of it. i talked to some people who know. my brother was a british army colonel, retired last year, 37 years in the army come served in iraq, afghanistan, fought urban conflict against people who wanted to kill everyone. my brother and my sister's husband's are the, british army colonel, same deal, iraq/afghanistan. they are concerned about what israel does here. they are extremely wary of watching a full-blown invasion of gaza. they completely understand the desire to wipe out hamas. i get that. i think they should be eradicated. the question is how best to do this. a full-blown ground invasion -- if you look at iran -- their motivation, hamas' motivation. they want to kill as many jewish people as they can, wipe out israel. iran, the same. what's best-case scenario for them? this was all heading to peace in the middle east. even the saudis were getting into bed with the israelis. that's why they have done this now. they did on such a horrific scale that they knew they would goad the israelis into potentially overreacting. now, what's a proportionate reaction to -- what was october 7th? i don't know. it was so atrocious, barbaric, medieval, i don't know how you determine a proportional response. what i do know is if they get this wrong and level of gaza, hundreds of thousands of palestinians potentially die, which could happen in a ground invasion and hundreds of thousands more get displaced, back to their homes where destroyed? going to wipe out a mind-set which motivates and drives hamas. is a going to stop the radicalization beyond palestinians -- is it's going to stop the radicalization beyond palestinians wanting to go to groups like that to? i think you could have the opposite effect. biden and his administration trying to urge sometime in caution from the israelis -- not caution and getting rid of hamas, but the way they do it i think is going to be fundamental to how a piece of this region can or cannot be achieved or damaged. >> greg: all right, judge. >> piers: rip me away, judge. [laughter] >> jeanine: the way hamas fights is they will put civilians in a situation where they are going to be harmed. this is a question that hamas has to answer, not israel. israel was attacked, as you say, in a medieval, barbaric way. we knew that iran was behind this. we know it from the get-go. why all of a sudden is the pentagon and the white house saying "iran has its fingerprints all over it?" they can't deny it anymore. they simply can't deny it. we've got this person in yemen, the west bank that's all riled up now. we got israel telling their people to get away from the northern border where lebanon is. now we've got the united states saying 600,000 americans in lebanon and israel. they have to evacuate. we are getting ready to get in the middle of this war, because we have been pushed into it. we have fed the monster from the time barack obama came into office. then, when trump came in, he took it away from monster, and biden gave the money right back. in this love affair for a nuclear deal. now, iran is making billions on the international oil market, and we are like "it may or may not be iran." it is iran, we know it's a iran. i spoke to my friend -- and today, they are moving most of their planes out of lebanon. they are putting them in cyprus, qatar, kuwait, and turkey. they know it's coming. it's inevitable what has happened. we have created a monster and now we have to deal with it. with nine american serviceman in iraq, and of the three attacks in syria, we've got 13 attacks on our armed forces in the last week. what are we supposed to do, put our tail between her legs and run away? we are the united states of america! hamas has made a decision to control palestine. the arabs will not assimilate the palestinians. why? they are afraid of them. because they have a mind-set. you cannot buy this mind-set away from them. they grow up in grammar school learning to kill, hate j jews. the end of this will not be pretty. kirby cannot deny that war with iraq is possible, and we are partially sponsor before putting iran in a situation to fight hamas, hezbollah, and -- and after we have fed the monster, we can't run away. we got to deal with it. instead of feeding it, we ought to freeze the funds, $6 billion, $10 billion in sanctions that we just released to them of money that was frozen in iraq. we've got to break them financially. otherwise, we are going to suffer consequences. >> greg: there you go. >> piers: do you agree with m me? [laughter] >> dana: i was thinking back to when i was press secretary, there was not social media. that came in the year after. i was never more recognized than i was when we traveled to israel and south korea. why? because people who rely on the united states for moral clarity over the leadership, they will hang on your every word if they are in trouble, and that's why it's so important to get it right. >> jeanine: jeanine, what dana says is accurate, that jews are victims of 51% of the hate crimes in this country. muslims are victims of about 10% of the hate crimes. that doesn't even reflect what's going on in europe. it certainly doesn't reflect the whole topic that you saw -- what they are talking about where jews are being murdered. >> piers: i would like some mental clarity to the mental thought process. when sibley asks you a very simple, clear question to comment about rising anti-semitism, which is very palpable around the world, and shocking, your natural reaction is not to immediately pivot to something completely different the way she did and talk about another group of people. two things really. one, i was in london the day of october the seventh, i was walking down, the israeli embassy is there. there were already thousands of people gathered i mistakenly thought they might be there in the support of the people of israel. they were screaming and celebrating what hamas had done to innocent israeli civilians. i found that shocking. there were thousands, within hours. then, i had dinner over the weekend with a high profile jewish female friend of mine in israel at the time, flew out soon afterwards. she articulated to me the sense of real fear. first, trauma and shark amongst jewish people around the world, but fear. the fear wasn't just because of potential reprisals or anything to do with what happened octobe. the fear was the reaction they were seeing on the streets in new york, london, sydney, people saying "gas the jews" in sydney. these are supposedly civilized democratic responsibility societies with dutch fast populace is in these countries, was to celebrate what had happened. that's a terrifying thing for any jewish person to witness on their television screen or in person. my message to karine jean-pierre's let's not have any more failings of moral character. listen to the questions you are being asked. the entire world, as you said, dana, they are watching not just for clarity, but a position, which makes people on the receiving end of this disgusting abuse and threats and everything that's coming with it, that makes them realize we are watching and taking this seriously. i thought would happen was a complete disgrace, honestly. >> jeanine: jesse, growing up -- american are taking courses on firearm safety, going to shooting ranges around the country as they fear for their safety. >> jesse: i think every american should do that: hispanic, black, jewish, however, go get trained up. i certainly have been. i love how the next day, she comes out and says "i want to clear up one thing, i love the jews." [laughter] >> piers: until we stop celebrating weakness in losing, this is -- the kids are being told "don't worry about being dumb, that's fine," but what happens when they get to the real world, when they get out of the portal and have to compete for jobs over people, whatever it may be? they don't know how to be competitive in that environment, because -- don't have to have one. we have to bring back the mentality that winning is a good thing. used to be at school, being better them people around you was a good thing and nothing to be embarrassed about. >> greg: they found jobs at disney, anheuser-busch. >> piers: in the corporations are seeing their profits tanking. these decisions -- the result -- of being dumb.
