♪ [national anthem] ♪ ♪ [national anthem] ♪ ♪ pete: we go straight to a fox news alert. the idf has killed a senior hamass commander in an overnight strike. the israelis are ramping up attacks with troops and heavy armor on standby for a planned ground invasion. rachel: israeli forces also carrying out strikes and raids in the west bank capturing another 27 hamas terror es. joey: this comes as the pentagon notifies more u.s. troops be ready to deploy, defense secretary austin saying, quote: i directed a series of additional tens to strengthen the department of defense posture in the region, increase force protection for u.s. forces in the region and assist in the defense of israel. pete: and the idf hitting several terror hubs overnight near the lebanon border. more than a dozen communities across the knot of israel -- north of israel are under evacuation orders. rachel: hezbollah says it is right in the heart of the battle. hamas has warned if israel starts a ground offense in gaza, hezbollah will join the fighting. joey: let's get right to trey yingst on the ground in israel with the latest. there he is. trey, what you got for us? >> reporter: yeah, hey, or guys, good morning. just moments ago we saw rocket fire toward the city of jerusalem. those rockets targeted an area that sits to the southwest of jerusalem, yet another reminder that 16 days into this conflict hamass and islamic jihad still have the ability to fire on central israel, serving hundreds of thousandses of people to bomb shelters. right after hose rocket sirens were sounding in central israel, we heard two loud explosions near the border, the israelis likely trying to hit some of those rocket-launching units. we are getting more information from inside gaza about the destruction. about 4-5% of the strip has damage as a result of thousands of israeli strikes trying to lay the groundwork for that expected operation into gaza in the coming hours or days. we do know more than a 4500 gazans have died as a result of those strikes, and additionally, there are efforts underway to get more aid boo gaza to help palestinian civilians in the southern part of the strip that did heed evacuation orders by the israelis. you mentioned 12 different communities being evacuated in the north amid growing threats from hezbollah. as rocket fire and antitank guided missiles continue to be shot into northern israel, the us a reillys are concerned aboud about civilians along the border and have started to are retaliate even heavier, not only hitting the source of that rocket fire, but now targeting hezbollah command certains. one other update overnight, the israelis targeting the the west bank city of janine, they say at a moss ifing fighters were planning -- mosque were planning attacks, they killed an unknown amount of militants. guys, back to you. pete: you got it. thank you very much, trey. appreciate it. we're going to break down a little bit more what urban warfare would look like. yes, they may get involved in the north eventually, but right now we're looking at gaza. joey, break down kind of the nuts and bolts. when this invasion happens, what's it going to look like? joey: so you see here's a sniper up on top of a building. if you're coming many in on the ground, first you've got a chokepoint. the enemy knows you've got to go through this intersection. there's a place for an ied, a land mine or an ambush. they've got a sniper ready. obviously, drones are a big part of this war. all the red here, i guess, indicates where where the enemy might be, and just shows you all the different places the enemy can hide. pete: and they're not going to have tanks, we will -- they will, excuse me, the idf will in an urban fight, maybe opening up chokepoints -- joey: that's exactly right. if you don't want to go down this road, take these buildings out -- pete: making a hole for your troops. joey: this is an actual picture of gaza. pete, let's assume heir coming -- pete: say they're coming way. joey: you've got a chi scraper or a tall building here, that's a sniper, that's a place to shoot with a rocket. when it comes into the city block if this is where it wants to go, again, you see a chokepoint there. pete: intersection right here. joey: the enemy can lay in this wait. when you're deliberately clearing, it may take them half a day to come down that road. pete: absolutely right. joey: there's land mines, bombs, looking for sniper -- pete: joey's exactly right. it's not as if you walk down the road. that's the last thing you can do. you've got to go into this house, into this house, overwatch the next one and, oh, by the way, there's a back alley here, are people squeezing out the back side of that objective. so as you clear, you've got units adjacent to you that you have to coordinate with you so one unit's not getting too far ahead, then you're overexposed. it's very complex going house to house. joey: and clear that real quick. say you come down through here and you have this tall build, or and you see enemy activity. you're going to halt, have have flyover, take that building down to the ground. that's where getting the civilians out of the city is so important. pete: absolutely. to the next slide here -- joey: right here. pete: there we go. joey: this is the type of odder nance that the -- ordnance that has been recovered already. if you'll give me a pen here -- pete: you got it. joey: these are called rpgs. you see this here, the explosive is only housed back here. these use a small amount of explosive, but they use science, basically, to create havoc. these are shot at tanks, armored vehicles, even buildings. anything with a hard surface that was could this heat, high explosive antitank round to go off. one person can shoot one of these, take out a whole troop carrier if they're accurate with it. over here you have some land mines, they're italian-made but not italian-supplied. over here, hay think these are egyptian made but don't quote me on that because with we're not sure. directional fragmentation devices, claymore mines. these hurt people. the direction towards where the idf may come from, and they if frag people, injure them. the more people we have injured, the more people out of the fight. and that's the things we have here, representation from a couple of places, basically hot bombs. you can use one of these to take a house out. again, a little amount of exploratives with -- explosives with a high yield. these are all employ filed individuals. each one of these can take out multiple idf or a vehicle or a house they're held up in, one or two people can employ them. these are ground to ground combat, you've got things made by yugoslavia, iran, potentially egypt, these italian-made land mines. they're getting supplied from conflicts of past all over the renal. pete: and in case you don't know it, you're just waking up, he's an eod tech, he was in the marine corps, explosive ordnance disposal. he knows what these things are and how the enemy uses it. let's move on to the next one. joey: got it right here. we're going to figure this out, a marine and a soldier. [laughter] this is the paris thing we've done. we brought many two carrier strike groups, the ford and the eisenhower. the ford specifically, the latest and greatest and most capable. pete: what people need to understand here, it's a giant airfield, effectively. the ability to project with power. we move forward to the next slide, that's a close mock-up, but what does this group represent for the united states of america in the mediterranean? joey: this is almost outdated, because as of this morning we mow the eisenhower strike the group is coming in with it, and wal know they're coming up through the suez canal, i believe the ship that took out the overhead missiles is evidence that the 26th marine expeditionary unit is coming through -- up through the canal. we'll go into what that means later on in the show, stay tuned. once you get all of this here, these are the capabilities that are amazing. you have an airfield, you basically have an a air base. you can send our sophisticated jets to take out southern lebanon, take out hezbollah, you also is have indirect fire, heavy artillery from the ships to land, big, bad guns to take out anything that the ships can see, line of sight. you have all types of signal technology here. you can jam with these ships, you can provide encryptedded signal with these ships. you have the most formidable military conglomerate in the world at that moment. pete: it's like creating a giant land base right mt. middle of the mediterranean sea that can project people. well done, joey. really appreciate that breakdown. last night on "one nation," an idf spokesperson talked about how they're preparing for this fight. watch. >> in essence, hamas are cowards. their whole strategy is built upon hiding behind civilians or under civilians, and we've seen it in the past that when the going gets tough, they have a tendency to put down weapons and try to flee. as a last resort. however, our working assumption is that hamas has prepared the battlefield, that there are various dimensions of warfare ready for us, specifically tunnels, and that hamas at least in the first and the intermediate stages will fight and will try to inflict heavy casualties on the idf. that is our working assumption. that is how we are preparing for corporations -- operations, and that is how we're going to address the situation. in terms of the assets that we will be bringing to the fore once the next stage of operation commences. rachel: so no word yet on exactly when that ground invasion is will be, but israel saying we're going to come in when we're good and ready, when we believe the conditions are ready. really interesting stuff that you showed there on the screen, joey. these weapons of war, sometimes it's so hard to think about. i mean, these are real human beings on both sides -- joey: yes. rachel: -- who are having to experience all of this war and destruction, the violence that we saw on the israeli side, millions displaced on the pal indian side, up -- palestinian side, up to 3,000 civilians potentially killed on the palestinian side. it's a lot. we don't the know where this is going to go. joey: the hope is all of that we just explain plained, you saw what a hamas has, maybe a little more sophisticated stuff the, but they have ground the to ground combat elements. what we just explain if just off the coast is an amazing military might. the hope is that's a deterrent. hey, we can bring the ham orer, don't make us have to use it. and that's what'll save innocent palestinians. pete: that is the hope, that expeditionary unit, all of that combat power is enough to make bad guys back up. rachel: i read an interesting -- oh, go ahead, jee joey -- joey. joey: there's not tens of thousands of ground combat troops. that's not the purpose of what's sitting out in the water even with the9 26th. that's a couple of thousand, dozens at a time surge create inserting -- surgically inserting and coming out. money of that suggests we're putting 10,000 strong army unit into gaza. that's not what that suggests at all, and that also, it's something to point out and makes me happy because i don't want us involved in a war in that way. a. rachel: yeah, i couldn't agree more. i read a fascinating article about the role of china in all of this. the article said china probably giving technology the, probably helped to take down some of the -- i don't, i'm going to probably use the wrong word -- pete: surveillance? rachel: the surveillance that the israelis had, hang, pete, helping hamass in that -- hamas leaders. helping them in that way. but, of course, china's sitting from above loving all this chaos that's going on as they look gee go politically at strengthening their position. joey: and we have, we're making movements for that as well. my nephew is aboard or a carrier and won't give too much information, but their plans changed, and they're forwarding our back door in the pacific. -- guarding our back door in the pacific. pete: speaking of our back with door, let's go to our southern border -- rachel: do we care about that? pete: we should. [laughter] we do. and. unfortunately, we've broken another bad record. in september of fiscal year '23, it was the highest month on record of border encounters. nearly 270,000 people encountered and, again, remember, that number in context is not gotaways, known gotaways, unknown gotaways. these are just people who turn themselves in, most of which are released into the interior of the united states bringing the total for fiscal year '23 to 2.5 million people at our southern border. rachel: another record we're breaking is the number of known terrorists who have come across. every single year with joe biden has been in office we've broken that record, and now look at us. 2023, when the world is on fire and and terrorism has nebraska been a bigger threat, i think, since 9/11, here we are. 169, these are people who are on the terrorist watch list, so imagine how many have come in that we didn't catch and how many aren't on the terror thest watch list but are just getting into our country and have really bad intentions. this, to me, i mean, at this point you couldn't -- this is dereliction of duty. this is such an obvious threat to our country and that the border remains open. and, by the way, the number of the package deal which is really a ukraine deal, i mean, $60 billion of the 100 is going to ukraine, but there's this, you know, tiny amount, it seems tiny but it isn't, it's, like, what, $14 billion going to the southern border supposedly for security? trust me, it is just to increase the processing and speed up time of moving these e people into into our country. this is an a absolute, this is a scandal. pete: it's a scandal, it's it's an invasion, is what it is. it truly is over the course of that administration. when you look at those numbers that we put on there, the fact that it was zero, it was zero in 2019, now it's 170, and when you know we're at the pace of 1,000 known gotaways a day right now, 1,000 people that cross the border, we don't know who they are, certainly not screening them against the terror the watch list, those are the ones that are foolish enough to get caught or turn themselves in. most people who would have nefarious intentions would find a way around. rachel: for people who don't understand, how is it we though there's 1,000 gotawaysesome. pete: they either see them through video but they can't get to them -- joey: they have ground sensors -- pete: and they can detect them or there's footprintses and and they know. it's obviously an a estimate at some level, but they have a good sense of how many people crossed that they weren't able to -- rachel: and we've had plenty of people on the show who are very informed on these issues say there is absolutely a relationship between the cartels and terror, international terror organizations. they coordinate, they help get them over the border, they share tactics. pete: china's working with hama- rachel: you can be sure. pete: -- the anti-american axis is alive is and well, and they're going to use each other to the detriment of the united states. joey: one more thing on the border that i think is really a part of this speaker race, one of the things republicans wanted was funding for the border. the administration says they want it too, but it's how that funding's used. honestly, it's not about putting money at the border, it's about changing policy at border, and that doesn't cost a dime sometimes. rae e ray no. you don't need one dollar more than you already have right now to close the border. and as you said, pete, we were at zero not long ago, and we have add that record numbers of dollars going towards our border enforcement. it's not enforcement. remember, when they talk about securing the border, just replace the word processing with enforcement, because that's all we're doing. okay. so here's, here's a reaction from some of the people who are running for office for president on the republican side talking about our border. listen. >> israel has some of the best border security in the world. they know it's life or death, and yet this still happened, and there'll be probably explanations about how it could have happened. but do you not think that our enemies are just going to not exploit a weakness in our country if you have a porous border? >> this is not a technical challenge, it's a failure of political will. and the fact of the matter is the current administration has lost all of its commitment to enforcing the rule of law at the southern border, is undermining the rule of law law across the united states. pete: i saw that desantis clip and i asked, is he still running? no, his numbers aren't going up. anyway, the problem's not going away. rachel: he's doing better than pence. [laughter] vice president had an event where 13 people showed up. that's not good. joey: thank thanks, pete. right now israeli forces on the brink of a major ground invasion in gaza. we've that talked about it for days. as the u.s. increases its show of force in the region, the pentagon sending more air defense systems to the middle east while to ordering more troops to be ready to deploy if necessary. our next guest, former special forces green with beret daniel fielding, served in afghanistan, he joins us most. first and foremost, thank you for your service. we look at what the pentagon just put out, we have more troops in ready to deploy mode. don't really tell us what they are, but what they do tell us is they're going to use the thad system and the patriot missile system, one of them being, the thad, both of them being intercept devices. basically our version of the iron curtain. what does that tell you about our posture in the region? make it arexvy. ♪ rachel: our next guest laying out the growing ties between hamas and china, arguing that the ccp is using the terror in israel to stoke a new cold war with the west. steven nosier writing in a new op-ed, quote, china is following the same playbook in the middle east that it did in russia; promise to to aid the aggressor behind the scenes, then when the attack the happens, loudly call for a negotiated settlement without mentioning that it was your partner who committed the barbarous act in the fist place. steven nosier joins us now -- nosier joins us now with more. such an important topic because i don't think a lot of people are making the connection between that -- hamas and china. am i correct, hezbollah and hamas if are proxies for iran, and iran is a proxy for china. >> absolutely, rachel. and china's trying to operate from behind the scenes, but if you follow chinese social media, they attacked israel as soon as hamas launched this attack on israel, chinese social media lit up with all kinds of anti-semitic posts. that sort of marketing and support for beijing has continued. no one believes this ragtag terrorist group can plan such a complex operation, breach israel's highly sophisticated defenses, disable its communication system all on its own. that couldn't happen. so how did it happen? well, i think one of the reasons is two years ago hamas switched to electronic equipment made in china. they're now using huawei phones, there's a new operating system that maybe israeli intelligence had trouble penetrating. but the chinese were listening in because they're always listening many on their electronic devices. so they must have hone the in advance that hamas would -- known in advance that hamas would attack. also the cyber attacks that took down the defensive network in israel couldn't have been carried can out by hamas or even iran. i think they got help from north korea, another proxy for china, by the way, and china itself. and hamas brought advanced weaponry9 to the attack, and i found this particularly interesting, a number of independent chinese dissident sources have said that mohamed -- who is hocker straiting and planning -- orchestrating and planning the massacre, he was actually trained in china in the late '90s. he went to the people's liberation army's ordnance engineering college in china. he studied artillery technology, learning the skills that he would later use to launch the massacre and kill israelis. so, you know, he also has a chinese-muslim wife. not a uighur, the uighur is the minority that is being persecuted and killed as we speak. he has a uighur, chinese-muslim wife, and the suggestion is she's a conduit to realtime intelligence going back and forth from beijing. so we have lots and lots of connections here. rachel: right. >> the other thing, of course, the same praybook is followed by china in the middle east that it followed vis-a-vis russia. you had putin visit china that right before the invasion of ukraine, sign a half dozen agreements and sign a perpetual friendship agreement, and china's been supporting russia ever since in its ukrainian invasion is. rachel: right. >> same thing happened, bashar assad from syria visited, the iranians visited, the palestinians visited, and guess what? the next thing, you have war break out in the middle east. not by accident, rachel. rachel: no, i think you're absolutely right. and by the way, putin was visiting china as we were doing wall to wall coverage, putin was in china visiting with xi jinping. xi jinping's hero is mao, and he said great chaos is needed9 in the world. of respond to this question, what is the aim of china in stoking these wars and getting us involved in so many of these different spheres, you know, places around the globe? is it that they're trying to distract us and disorient us from focusing on them? is it that they want to bankrupt us? we're $33 trillion in debt, and we keep spending so much money. what's going on? >> well, all of the above, rachel. clearly, it's an attempt to divert resources and deplete our munitions by getting us involved in yet another hot spot around the world. their immediate goal, of course, is taiwan, but no one should think that china's ambitions are limit to just recovering the free democratic island of taiwan, because its ambitions are global. unlike iran, which is a regional player, wants to dominate the middle east, unlike russia a which wants to take back ukraine and the other certificate yet -- soviet republics, china has global ambitions. i read the chinese literature. they believe that they have a national right to rebelling monothink, to -- hegemony, to replace the united states by the middle of the 20th, this century, the 211 1st century, they want to replace the united states as the dominant power in the world, so they're doing everything they can to weakens us to achieve that goal. they'd like to do it from behind the scenes -- rachel: i only have a few seconds left or, what should america do in this moment as we have ukraine, you know, the war in israel and gaza? what should america do with regard to china and its influence? >> well, we should realize there's an arsonist looses in the world, that it's lighting fires of conflict wherever it could. we should decouple from china. we should rebuild our military, of course, but we should also cut off technology access, financial access of china to the united states. if we do that, we can set china a on a path to collapse. the same way we did to the soviet union. rachel: yeah. well, much harder to do when our own president is compromisedded to china. steven nosier, thank you so much. >> i mean, it's become radicalized. i mean, you have members of the democrat party who are supporting hamas. you have tlaib and you have a caucus in the yates congress who call it -- in the yates congress, and they support -- in the united states congress, and they support, they have not spoken out about these horrors. and you have the leader of the democrat party in the house, hakeem jeffries, i did a little homework. he hasn't said one single word about dem about contact members -- democratic members in his caucus who are supporting this isis organization. where is hakeem jeffries? you know, he supports israel? what about speaking out about the horror within his own caucus? why is he silent? sue jee we love -- we look at these protests, in our country a lot of these are young college kids. a lot of them are probably middle class, white kids. what is it that allows them to see what happened in israel and chant things like from the river to the sea, kind of paint over the true horror of it for this decolonization or anti-israel or, anti-u.s. notion?
