is benjamin netanyahu talked about the humanitarian way looking out for civilians that was going to be the approach. that evidently behind closed doors is what president biden has been emphasizes. >> lawrence: yeah, that's important, too. you know, there were some allegations that there was some pressure from the white house to free up some of that humanitarian aid. it looks like they are on the same path. they are on one page right now. look, in these moments, brian, and ainsley, and steve, i think that we have to unify as a country and support our leader, the president of the united states. the reality of it is we are about to enter into a long war. >> steve: right. good point. >> lawrence: that i mean our nation's ally. and there are a lot of american bases and embassies that are going to be the target. also, this enemy is the same enemy of us. these are radical islamists. we should not be surprised if there is something here in the united states and so i look forward to hearing the president saying that we're going to stand with israel because we're worried about the attack not just attack that happened in israel but them attacking us as well, ainsley. >> ainsley: the second hour of "fox & friends" starts right now. ♪ >> steve: it is 2:01 in the afternoon in israel. and a fox news alert. president biden is live in tel aviv right now and he is meeting with the israeli war cabinet. we just heard a few opening remarks a moment ago where he met with the cabinet after a closed door meeting with benjamin netanyahu, the president making it very clear israel is not alone. we have got their back. and the prime minister reiterating that israel will do everything it can to keep civilians out of harms way. >> brian: this as protesters gather outside of the site of the hospital that was leveled when idf forces say islamic jihad rocket misfired. the president also blaming islamic jihad forces for that attack while meeting with netanyahu earlier this morning. >> steve: fierce protests erupts as you can see right there after the hospital explosion as many jumped at blaming israel for it. for instance, rioters in lebanon setting fire to u.s. embassy in beirut as hezbollah calls for an unprecedented day of anger. that would be today, lawrence. >> lawrence: that's right, steve, and while the president is overseas, many in the jewish community here at home are feeling the effects of this war, we have team coverage, trey yingst is on the ground in southern israel and jacqui heinrich is at the white house, trey, we go to you first. what else the latest on the ground? >> trey: yeah, hey, guys, we are right now when the israeli military. one of the communities neither border with gaza. i'm not going to give you the specific name because there are some security concerns. i just want to describe the scene of what's taking place. the juxtaposition between the meeting happening with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu and u.s. president joe biden. [explosion] > >> trey: you just heard that explosion outgoing into the gaza strip. we looked at the gate of this community that was totally broken down where these militants entered last weekend and slaughtered so many people as that meeting though was taking place between those two world leaders, the israelis were using fighter jets to strike the gaza strip we could see the explosions happening as we were listening to the conversations there in tel aviv. so it is a very active scene. president biden not just here to show support to israel but also to discuss the next steps for the region, understanding that this is quickly unraveling into a broader conflict as it relates to gaza and the al-ahli hospital. we are getting new information about the explosion that took place. i'm going to bring my cameraman here to the side. some soldiers still coming into this area because they do control it now. but as it relates to gaza, we understand according to the israelis, that this was an islamic jihad rocket that misfired. it was aimed at israel. went up in the air and landed in the courtyard of this hospital, killing so many innocent civilians there. and just yet another reminder of the fog of war and the information that flows here, we have got to be patient and accurate as we try to figure out what happens day by day, guys? >> brian: al jazeera reporting that how significant al jazeera running video saying this seems to be faulty rocket from islamic jihad? >> well, it's very significant and, look everyone in the region should be chasing the facts. and what we understand from the ground is that the evidence would reviewed points to a rocket ms. firing in gaza. i want to give you the play by play of how this unfolded last night. the initial reports came in from the central part of gaza. the al-ahli hospital where we new hundreds were sheltering. officials reached out to fox news to tell us that the israelis conducted an airstrike. we reached out to israelis who told us they were launching an immediate investigation. we continued to talk with sources inside gaza and top officials and tel aviv and jerusalem. ultimately they provided evidence, both video and drone imagery showing this was likely a failed rocket launch. today we received more evidence from the israelis of intercepted communications from militants inside gaza talking about just that, that a rocket was aimed at israel and it fell short inside gaza. so we continue to gather information. i have spoken with people who are in gaza, who went to the site today and they sent video and photos of the aftermath. and what we know is that hundreds of palestinian civilians were killed in this explosion. >> ainsley: trey, they also say if you look at the images there is no crater there is a fire in the parking lot. that's an indication that wasn't israel. israel strikes generally leave these large holes in the ground they say. can you tell us more about that? >> >> yeah, absolutely. there is no crater from what we have reviewed the images of video. i received a 6 minute video of the scene earlier source gaza what happens. whatsapp. you heard from president biden there. he said simply he believes israel is telling the truth in this matter. we posed these questions, we will continue to investigate. as it relates to the airstrikes. you heard in the stance they are continuing to hit the gaza strip. when they do, we know what these craters look like. we know how large they are. they can provide evidence what types of bombs strike gaza thousands of them since this massacre last saturday. you can get a real picture of what it looks like in the aftermath of the strike. this hospital, so far, we have to continue to look for that evidence that points us in another direction. so far it does appear this was a failed launch from inside gaza. >> steve: trey, as you are speaking right now you are on the left side of our screen. on the right side of our screen ask that is going on in the west bank. the gaza strip is a very relatively smaller area than the west bank of the palestinian lands. and what they have done is they have called for a general strike today in the west bank to protest the hit on the hospital and shops and banks and universities are closed and protesters are calling for abbas to get kicked out of his job because he is not doing enough for them. can you just describe and i know you are on the border with gaza right now but can you explain the tensions in the west bank? is there a possibility that that could blow, too? >> absolutely. and it's part of the reason to believe that palestinian president mahmoud abbas canceled his meeting with president biden despite the evidence that has come out regarding the explosion at the hospital in gaza city. in terms of abbas' popularity in the west bank, it's very low. many palestinians see him as a trader someone who works with the israelis too closely on security agreements. speaks to the americans too often. so abbas is trying to maintain his popularity there are politics at play amid this gruesome war that is unfolding. so it's not just abbas but also other leadership from the jordanians and egypses pointing the finger at israel. as it relates to the west bank, overnight we saw riots and unrest, clashes taking place between protesters and security forces there. remember, there are thousands of militants in the west bank that are members of hamas and islamic jihad. we have embedded with the israeli military in the past. just a few weeks ago, we were there as they were engaged in a gun battle in the city that sits just next to israeli territory. and ultimately the israeli forces killed hamas militant that was firing on them while we were with them. it gives you a sense that the threats are not just coming from gaza and the northern border as we have discussed with lebanon but also internally. in the west bank is boiling. the protests continue, they have seen the revs the arab world and the unrest in oman jordan and istanbul, turkey. and beirut and lebanon outside the u.s. embassy. and there's a real sense from the u.s. administration here on the ground today, president biden speaking with his counterparts that this could boil over, and the threats from the west bank are legitimate, they have ammunition and weaponry and depatriot in many c --deep hatred for the israel people. steve go ahead, lawrence. >> lawrence: quickly trey, iran's mission is to get the arab world back together. they want the shias and the sunnies on the same page. this is why they like hamas with the disinformation. i'm just curious as we look at the west bank with some of the palestinian people that are out there protesting and talking, are they buying what hamas is saying and do you think that hamas is winning the disinformation war on the ground? >> so without getting too deep into the complexities of all of this, the palestinians are largely sunni and iranians are largely she a, but, when it comes to the region, and the unrest and specifically the palestinian people, historically, iran has stepped in. and it has created a scenario that we are faced with today across the region. where the iranians are saying if the israelis enter into gaza, and destroy one of the largest proxies in the region. second largest region hamas behind hezbollah that they will have to get involved. it creates a scenario for the israelis where they have to have strategic patience. if it spills over across the region they are going to need the support of the united states. it's why you are not just seeing hand shakes and hugs on runways and tarmacs. you are seeing military assets headed this direction. you are seeing levels, order 4 orders by americans and u.s. state department telling american citizens to exit lebanon immediately. there is a sense from the intelligence community and officials that we have spoken with. there is a sense from the israelis and the americans that we are on the brink of a much larger regional war. and these moments that we have and the situation with the hospital in gaza and daily bombing of the gaza strip, the response with rocket fire, the war that is taking place, each of these moments, individually, are adding up to a much larger conflict across the middle east. >> brian: go ahead. >> ainsley: trey, what's the response of our president there? it shows solidarity that we are with israel. there is some criticism that it is delaying the ground invasion and could be putting the hostages more at risk because it delays capturing them. >> trey: largely what we have heard from soldiers on the ground is that they are happy the united states is supporting them. they realize this was the darkest day in israel's history, the slaughter of more than 1300 people, both soldiers and civilians, people taken hostage back into the gaza strip. communities like the one we are in right now that we can't give you the name of at this moment but later on today we will have fresh reporting from, where you look inside the houses. the americans can relate to the israelis. these were not combat at that particular times. these were not soldiers at war in their homes. arrest resting. from what we understand happy that the united states is showing such a high level of support. and they realize the threat from the north. the threat from hezbollah, the largest iranian proxy in the region is real. they understand their air defense systems are advanced but could easily be overwhelmed when they are facing precision guided munition. they realize if this erupts to a multi front conflict with many players involved there will be casualties on the ground. any sort of support they can get especially from the united states is appreciated. >> brian: all right, trey, look forward to follow-up report. also as you know with the embassy in lebanon, they're allowing nonemergency personnel to leave they saw the fires that started last night over an airstrike that looks like islamic jihad responsible although they are getting the blame. thanks so much. meanwhile ogo over to jacqui heinrich with the white house with the president's comments in israel saying it looks like terrorists were responsible for that hospital attack. jacqui, the president is going to be back soon, right? he is going to be in, going to be out. not going to stay in a hotel room tonight. >> yeah. this is a very quick trip as far as foreign trips go. but, you know, brian, i can't overstate how significant it is that the president in his very first words in israel absolved them of any blame in this hospital bombing based on what he has seen. that incident derailed the second half of his trip. he was supposed to be going to jordan to speak at the jordanian king. the president of the palestinian authority and the ejinxes to try to secure safe passage for civilians, palestinians out of gaza. something that the u.s. has really been emphasizing is important to the trajectory of israel's war and the ground operation it is getting ready to launch. the u.s. has been saying that getting civilians out of harm's way and getting aid into gaza will be important in how public opinion of this is shaped, support might erode for israel's mission toker rad disindicate hamas if every president spoke to the stakes here. listen to this. >> based on what i have seen appears it was done by the other team not you. but there is a lot of people out there who are not sure. the world is looking. israel has a value set like the united states does. and other democracies. and looking to see what we're going to do. >> even though the jordan leg of biden's trip was canceled. he still has much to do in israel. u.s. officials said a key objective is determining u.s.' war plan and strategy. recall that the president said it would be a mistake for israel to occupy gaza again. something they said they have no intention of doing. biden is also going to work bring hostages home and relay a strong message to other actors in the region like iran and its proxies not to get involved here. u.s. position to aircraft carriers troops on ready to deploy orders. biden will also be working the phones on the flight back to the u.s. put out a statement urging calm in the wake of the explosion at the hospital. the president intends to speak with both president mahmoud abbas and president sisi on the flight home so this would be i guess tomorrow night and expect those calls to happen on the way back. >> jacqui: this hospital bombing clearly derailed a lot the of president's planned trip. however the israelis have been blasting the media for taking hamas' word for it basically. believing the terrorists in the initial coverage and whereas israel, for instance, was pressured to verify its claims that babies had been murdered by hamas. the israelis taking strong issue with that. and the claim that israel was responsible, that initial claim has prompted backlash within the u.s. including from some progressive democrats over president biden's backing of israel in this. so it's a really good moment to make sure that we, you know, verify information and it speaks to just how much of a hair trigger this entire situation is on. brian. >> brian: absolutely. i think it's important to point out if you flip channels you see some of the disdainful questions over to different idf spokespeople who don't even want to think about taking their word for it let alone finding out information and getting things like a transcript and video. also important to point out. just 10 minutes ago. al jazeera has been reporting all night it looks like islamic jihad was the one behind it. i think they have a lot of sway in the islamic community. >> ainsley: they are terrorists. >> brian: they started this whole thing. let's bring in k.t. mcfarland. will great to see you. how important is this trip so far? how successful has it been for the president? >> the pictures you are seeing of the two presidents side by side with the american flag, the israeli flag, the american flag, the israeli flag. that is such an important picture to send to the entire region not only to the other muslim countries in the region that america stands with israel but to the whole world, to send it to europe, to send it to the united states, and particularly to send it to iran. you know, two weeks ago israel was on the brink of an historic peace agreement with saudi arabia. that would be final step in the abraham accords. peace in the middle east. who was left out of that? iran, iran knows it can't defeat israel militarily it. can't defeat israel economically. but it hopes to defeat politically. and by dividing the united states and israel. so that -- this trip is of critical importance for the survival of the state of israel. >> lawrence: k.t. can you talk about i don't think we can state this enough. hamas and the reps of them they use these videos, disinformation as recruitment tools on the battlefield. can you dive into that a little bit? >> iran uses hes and hamas unbelievable spin machines. they want to show israel committing atrocities, even if israel isn't committing atrocities, they want to do it. why? because they want to sway world opinion. they want to isolate israel. they really want to drive the wedge between the united states and israel. so far they haven't been able to in two weeks. where are we in another two weeks if there are more civilian casualties. if israel does go in on the ground in gaza. that's what iran wants. because iran wants this war to continue. so does china. so does russia can so do a lot of the bad guys in the world that we have enriched with high oil prices and their covers aree full. >> steve: i don't blame them given that. counk.t. west bankcalling for ad hezbollah calling for a day of unprecedented anger over the strike at the hospital which, you know, we have seen israel's proof that they didn't do it. and, trey yingst a moment ago said that the west bank is also a tinder box. how, you know, how worried are you, as a professional, that this is going to get much worse? >> very worried. you know, if israel is attacked on three fronts, on the west bank, east of israel by the palestinians on the west bank and now gaza, and then potentially hezbollah, what happens next? is israel going to fight a three front war? is the united states going to get involved? iran wants this to happen. but it doesn't want to have direct conflict with israel or the united states. the thing that i worry about going forward is where are the palestinian refugees going to go? israel isn't going to accept them. egypt doesn't want them. jordan certainly doesn't want them. fought a civil war with the palestinians 40 years ago. so what happens to those palestinian refugees and the humanitarian issue? so far, for example, so hamas -- the u.n. sent fuel oil and food as a humanitarian assistance to the palestinians a couple of days ago? what happened? hamas stole it all. they stole it from their own people to use in the tunnels for their own fighting. so, this gets worse. it gets worse militarily and certainly in a humanitarian way. >> ainsley: k.t. really quickly, the gaza strip, if egypt doesn't let them, in the innocent palestinians, if it doesn't let them in, and israel won't, could america send in boats? >> honestly, i think that's very uncontroversial statement to say that the blame for tears actions committed by hamas falls on hamas and not on anyone else. and i'm -- that open letter was signed by around 80 yeshiva organizations teams, i think it's something to be said when it's a shock to be able to say terrorism is bad, actually and the blame for terrorism falls on those who commit it. i'm happy that i was able to have that happen nyu, but, on other college campuses, that's what i mentioned in that letter. on other college campuses not such a given. other college campuses they are supporting hamas. they are marching glory to the martyrs, supporting hamas terrorists. >> lawrence: talk about how it is so reprehensible. you actually witnessed some of these sort of acts. >> yes. last week, a number of israeli students were hanging around fliers, photos of these hostages were taken into gaza last week. and someone on columbia's campus was so bothered by this that they punched an israeli student. the fact that people can support hamas and feel so triggered by photos of innocent civilians who are taken is abhorrent, and the fact that the university hasn't come out to stand against professors who are praising hamas, who they haven't come out to denounce student groups like students for justice in palestine who are also praising hamas, it is so clear to me from this instance that anti-zionism absolutely insights anti-semitism. there is absolutely no justification for hamas' abhorrent actions on october 7th. and the fact that university students are supporting them and getting so riled up that they punch israeli students is disgusting. and i really implore the university administration to denounce these actions immediately. >> lawrence: gideon, it's not just her university. you witnessed some acts as well when you tried to put up signs. >> yeah. unfortunately within 24 hours of putting up signs of like 2-year-old israeli who was kidnapped and actually a student at the university's cousin is currently captive in gaza. once i hung up those posters they were ripped down within 24 hours. >> lawrence: what did they say? >> all the sign said was kidnapped. the age of the person, and their name, and brings them home. that's all it said. kidnapped by hamas and we have american -- we have people in america cheering for the kidnapping of american allies and the kidnapping of americans. they are americans. we have people that are stuck in gaza. and we have people on our campuses cheering that on as resistance. it's insane. >> lawrence: lizzy, a lot of these folks say as they are ripping down the posters, that we don't -- that they don't stand with hamas. that they stand with the palestinian people. but, they say the same sort of rhetoric that the folks hamas are saying and chances. >> at this point, anyone who is taking part in tearing down posters is not standing with israel and is condoning these violent actions. it is despicable. i want to say that i don't think it's necessarily these students' fault because they have been indoctrinated in this hate by their professors, by people like the professor at cornell who called the attacks on october 7th exhilarating. the professor at columbia who has praised the attack. so these students are being taught to hate israel and thereby hate jews. >> lawrence: it's hard to believe that you are seeing this in america. rabbi, in the next hour, you are going to give us some hope because that's what you do in these times like this. ainsley, i'm going to send it back over to you in the studio in new york. >> ainsley: fascinating panel, our hearts and prayers are with all of them. i know that lizzy was there in israel when this attack happened. great job, lawrence. thank you. all right, coming up, we will speak with a spokeswoman for prime minister benjamin netanyahu. but, first, 96 americans rescued from war torn israel thanks to florida congressman cory mills. one of the evacuees includes the son of michigan congressman bill -- how do we say his last name huizenga. thank you. they are both coming up next. ♪sing15 o ♪ or more - can be overwhelming. so, ask your doctor about botox®. botox® prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine before they even start. it's the #1 prescribed branded chronic migraine treatment. so far, more than 5 million botox® treatments have been given to over eight hundred and fifty thousand chronic migraine patients. effects of botox® may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. alert your doctor right away, as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. don't receive botox® if there's a skin infection. tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. in a survey, 92% of current users said they wish they'd talked to their doctor and started botox® sooner. so, ask your doctor if botox® is right for you. learn how abbvie could help you save on botox®. providing for your family is a top priority. but what happens when you need affordable health care? >> frankly, one step before that, our office had been working with constituents working with the state department finding their own flights in and out and i had seen reports cory was there and wanted to hear what was going on on the ground and how safe or dangerous it was. we felt safe about the school and location, my wife and i visited over easter time and had the location understood well. cory said, get him out now, i will get him and make sure he gets out. i'm thankful for him and never forg forgotten.org group. it is sad we have to deepy depend on folks like cory. clearly the state department doesn't have a fully formed plan. >> steve: that is your honor understatement. the state department called you when you were sitting on your couch and said, how can we help you. you don't need to be evacuated from the united states of america. >> correct. i was thankful congressman mills team did a great job, they contacted me friday, i was out by saturday and home by sunday. the government was four days and asking where i even am. >> steve: congressman when cory mills plane with your son took off and was far and away from the guys with guns, how relieved were you? >> i can tell you, his mom and i were very pleased and it was commercial. cory utilizes charter and commercial planes. adrian was able to get a commercial plane from a country in the neighborhood. we were thankful. >> steve: indeed. adrian, anybody yo
