>> scenes from the israel gaza borders as the war in israel rages on. president biden posting on social media less than an hour ago, saying, quote, we must not lose sight of the fact that the overwhelming majority of palestinians had nothing to do with hurrica hamas' appalling a. >> this as the idf prepares a full scale invasion of gaza, a newly released recording between a gaza resident and idf intel p intelligence officers reveals they're taking car keys to keep people from leaving. listen. [speaking.>> at least 1300 isr2 # u.s. citizens were killed in the savage attacks a week ago. rachel: a second u.s. aircraft carrier is on the way to the mediterranean sea in what lloyd austin calls a show of force as the u.s. continues to affirm its support for israel. despite that, iran is now warning israel to stop the fighting immediately, saying any further action that they take will cause a, quote, huge earthquake for israel if their operations in gaza continue. >> now, let's get to mike toepin on the ground in southern israel with the latest. >> reporter: good morning, pete and rachel. the artillery behind me has been active behind me over the last half hour. we saw big plumes of smoke cocking crock-- coming out of t. the ground offensive did not materialize. there's reporting in the new york times that weather was a fact to that would have limited the ability of drones and aircraft to spot detail on the ground. what i'm hearing from sources inside the idf, pretty high in the idf, is that there are a number oknack tosser and the sa- factors and the safety of the soldiers was paramount and they're trying to maximize the factors before they begin the offensive into the gaza strip. the idf says they have had success with air strikes overnight. 100 air strikes overnight. they said they've got high value targets, specifically they say they've got another one of the planners of the october 7th massacre, specifically they say he planned the cell that went in and attacked where civilians were gunned down in cold blood. and in the past two days, israel claims they've killed three high value targets, hamas and islamic had jihad, up and down the gaza strip. the northern border, still very tense with hezbollah firing across the border. specifically four anti-tank rockets came across the border overnight. one of them hit a farming area and killed an israeli arab, an arab a man who had israeli citizenship. there has been a lot of artillery fire, ran p come fire- random fire coming across the border. thus far, this has not melted into another front. iran's foreign minister said iran can't sit on the sideline much longer, referring specifically to the combat that's happening here in gaza, and he said he threatened that if israel doesn't stop the offensive, tomorrow will be too late. guys, back to you in new york. >> ominous words, no doubt. tomorrow would be too late. the fire so far in lebanon, trey kind of laid out it feels strategic in nature, a warning, not yet an offensive. is that the sense you have in the north? >> reporter: if you want to call it strategic, i would call it random. rockets, you can't aim them that well. you essentially fire into israel. it's a warning, saying they intend to, as they threatened verbally, start trouble if the offensive continues. if it moves forward you can anticipate more rocket fire in the north. >> mike, thank you so much. >> thank you, mike. >> let's bring in the host of life, liberty and levine, the great one, mark levine, who joins us this morning. good morning to you, mark. would love to pick up the conversation right there where it was left off with mike about the role of iran. we see the united states positioning in the mediterranean sea. we hear warnings from iran. how do you see this spiraling and unfolding in the region? >> first, you notice no american media can report from iran. no american media can report from gaza. no american media can report from southern lebanon. so everybody has to report from israel. and so what's actually going on, on the ground in these areas, people don't get to see unless we have our own cameras in place, drones in place or other countries send us the video. so what's important to understand here is all this focus on israel. what is rail going to do? -- what is israel going to do? they have one mission, to make sure its people aren't exterminated. i hear about negligence oh, negotiations forthe hostages. who took the hostages, we don't know who they're alive. we have old people who need heart medicine, they can't sit there for weeks on end p. you have people who need diabetes medicine. you need babies that need milk and diapers changed of. do you think hamas cares about changing the diapers and bringing milk to the babies. they killed 29 americans and we act like it's no big deal. who is biden negotiating with? qatar. qatar funds hamas as well as iran. who is blocking the passageway out when it comes to gaza? the egyptians. where are the reporters there? they're not allowed there. so much of what's going on by the enemy, the enemy who has killed americans, we don't get to see. not because people don't try but because they don't allow it. so now we're left with stories from cnn and others with the moral ebbing equivalency. we've been asking our self et tu for days. hezbollah on the north, iran is threatening israel. israel doesn't have enough people to the fight all these people. it just does not. so let me ask you all a question. we ask the question, what will israel do? let me ask you folks a question, the whole country a question. what will we do in the united states if this were our circumstance? why did iran give 150,000 high tech powerful missiles to hezbollah. they wouldn't have any, but for iran. why? to blow israel's cities off the face of the earth. why did they give tens of thousands of missiles to had hamas, to do what they're doing. iraq could say stop in a second and these guys would stop in their tracks but they won't. we send a negotiating team to iran that includes iranian sympathizers and three individuals reporting to the foreign ministry of iran. we have to take some accountability. i want to ask a question. what does israel do? i'm going to say something that nobody is saying. israel has nuclear weapons. they're not going to mention it. there's not a single reporter or news organization that mentions it. it's just what will israel do, what will israel do. what would we do? i encourage people to go to the national park service site which talks about harry truman and his decision. they chose to fight the japanese even though they lost. the first atomic bomb is dropped because truman said we'll lose a million or more soldiers and we're not going to do that. how did he know that? okinawa we had the worst casualties of any battle in american history, a little island off japan. he said i'm not going to put our marines through that. we've been through enough. he said we need to pick cities that are not culturally important but have populations in them. citizens, this is truman, a democrat. just read it yourself or any other site you wish but are also militarily significant. he said do not give any information to the populations, no heads up, we're doing this for a reason, to put be an end to this damn war. israel's running around dropping leaflets and text messages, begging egypt open the damn passway so they can get out, any arab country will you take these people, no, and we're writing about look what the israelis are doing to citizens in palestine. when will america media stop being the mouth piece for people who want to exterminate us, the jews, europe and he everybody else. do they not understand what we're up against? apparently not. how come there's no talk in today's media about the young men that will go into the hell hole, many won't come back, they're reserveists. yesterday they were electrician, truckers, lawyers, medics, would won't come back. what about their blood? who has caused this situation? as for iran, this administration rearmed iran. they were on their backs, trump had his foot on their throat. they slaughter their own people. hamas slaughters its own people. the palestinian authority slaughters its own people. hezbollah took over lebanon. they assassinated the president of lebanon decades ago with the backing of iran a. look at what we're dealing with. and we're sitting here, how many have died in the gaza strip? it you is a human cat you phi. -- catastrophe. yes, it is. my next point is this. what if israelis had not stopped hamas when they did, 48 hours after they attacked israel? do you think -- do you think if these people had the opportunito blow out the entire nation of israel and all the people of israel but for the fact they were stopped wouldn't have done it? we talk about casualties. you have one country trying to prevent them, their own casualties and the casualties of their enemy that's trying to destroy them. you have hamas, backed by iran, hezbollah and the rest of them who not only want jews dead, anybody who gets in their way they want dead. we were attacked on 9/11, and before 9/11. these people murdered marines in their bar racks, these people took americans hoss tj take, these people hope -- hostage. he's these they killed 29 amerin one of the worst terrorist attacks against us. and i'm telling you with exactly the wrong mindset, the wrong psychology, we talk about the greatest generation, world war ii. this is pathetic. this is pathetic. we know what this enemy is. we know what they're capable of. we have video of what they were doing, like having real-time video in the concentration camps. we didn't have real-time video in the concentration camps. we have real-time video right now and then of course this whole thing on these college campuses, this whole thing where one u.s. administration after another has allowed hamas, the mmuslimmuslim brotherhood of pae have allowed this in our college campuses. it's called students for palestine. we have a group called care in this country which backed democrats, has backed them, then they've they given ad vice to the fbi, it was born in a meeting in philadelphia in the 1990s with ties to hamas. we're destroying ourselves from within. we appear to be ready to get israel -- there's two aircraft carriers out there. at the same time, we announce we're not getting involved. we send more mixed messages to these barbarians than is image a inable. i don't care how many air craft carriers are out there, if we're not prepared to use them, they're just sitting ducks. so i'm so furious about this spiral of propaganda in this country, people don't understand also that the media in america during the third li ri reich. covered up the holocaust, covered up the holocaust. the new york times knows it. i did a show on it here. i challenged the new york times to send somebody to debate me. they can't. because in 2001 they wrote their own report, how disgraceful they were. their chief correspondent in berlin was sympathetic to the third reich. don't think this is wokeism or liberalism. we have an enen enemy from witn that's endangering us. have you to be insane, especially after watching this, to not close our border. you have to be out of your damn mind. if joe biden doesn't care about american citizens, if joe biden's not going to protect american citizens whether it's crime in our cities, open border, whatever it is, i would just say to the israelis, you do what you have to do because i don't -- joe biden gives these speeches, they're very passionate, people like them. he is sending as many arms as they can but tying their hands behind their back, this has nothing to do with weather. they're holding off because they're trying to get the hostages out. we don't even know if they're alive anymore. they're butchers. only reason we keep hostages and probably not all of them is as a negotiating tool to get money because they saw what biden did before. it's like every conceivable wrong thing that can be done is being done right now but i would say this to the iranians who watch this network and every other and i would say this to hezbollah. you push these people, you push their backs against the wall, you want to see hell? i have no inside information of course. i suspect they will unleash it and they're not going to tell the united states because the ununited states would rather israel lose than do whatever they have to do to win so put that on the table of debate now. what are they going to do if they're surrounded? somewhat are they going to do if 150,000 advanced missiles are going to be shot, what are they going to do if iran gets involved, they can't win a conventional war. what are they the going to do? i think i know what they'd do. i know what we would do. we would destroy the enemy. because otherwise, we're exterminated. that's all i have to say. rachel: mark, you brought up nuclear war. i mean, essentially. and also we're talking about america's involvement. and -- >> no, we're not. no, we're not. no, we're not. if you -- look. rachel: i'm sorry, i just -- i -- >> hold on. ray on -- rachel, when youask qu need to answer them, not just ask them. what will they do if there's a multiple front war, what are they going to do have they have hostages, what are they going to do? die, i guess. rachel: we had a general on earlier in the show who said that our military is not doing well, you know, recruitments are low, they're not focused. he described a military that's not prepared in many ways and yet there we are in ukraine. we could have another front here. china's on the move. this those be -- we have to pause and b th think a little bt here because it sounds like it's a world towards war. >> honestly, i don't know what you're talking about. what does ukraine and china have to do with this. i'm talking about the israelis. rachel: the israelis have their issue but i'm concerned that a lot of the talk that's going on now is about involving the united states and that's another matter and it's not anti-semetic to say that we as americans should take a pause. >> okay. look. i didn't say it was anti-semetic. that's number one. so i don't appreciate that either. number two, the israeli haven't askeds us to get involved, they asked us to give them equipment. they have their own arsenal which they never admit. while you bring up all these issues, to me which kind of fox precisely -- you're the prime minister of israel. you're about to send hundreds of thousands of your troops in to take out the enemy once and for all. we saw the slaughter that took place. he's not thinking about ukraine or china and neither are we. and i'm saying to you this. i'm telling you the truth. sometimes it's tough. if israel is going to face annihilation, you think they have the nukes in there to collect dust? i'm not even encouraging anything be done. i'm not even saying nuke them, nuke them. i'm saying iran needs to understand and hezbollah needs to understand that if you think you're going to wipe out these people, you're not. so we have to do a reality. and reality is but america's involved in this -- america, i said they're going to drop them -- in my opinion, they might. i don't know. i have no idea. i'm the only one bringing this up. i'm not encouraging it. but if you're a country that has that kind of weaponry and your people are going to be slaughtered as they were except this time totally destroyed, they need to be thinking about all their options and my guess is they are. i don't know. so when we go on tv and say what are they going to do, they're surrounded, they're going to wipe them out, we can't send troops. fine. but if i'm the president or prime minister of israel, i've got to think it all through. all of it. as far as the u.s. military being stretched, it's not israel's fault. it's nothing to do with israel. it might be nice if we started to fund our military and not treat it like it's some secondary agency and put a 19% increase for the epa. we have a lot of problems in this country. a lot. but that's not on the head of the israeli people who are trying to survive. unless somebody else has another question -- >> it underscores the violence and the threat that has been brought to us when we look weak which i know we can all agree on in that context and israel's got to do what it's got to do. mark levine, you understand the ins and outs. thank you, sir. appreciate you. >> you got it. >> still ahead had, northern gaza will meet with prime minister netanyahu and other officials. as they rally against hamas terrorists, it's been revealed that tens of millions of dollars of covid relief money were sent by the biden agency as, quote, evidence ebbing t -- effectively a branch of hamas. >> thank you. so our tax dollars are used to fund through covid relief money organizations under the guise of aid that are arms of hamas. rachel: makes you wonder what else covid money went toward. >> yes. rachel: like crazy. >> which is when you see those memes on the internet of missiles coming from both directions, both u.s. funded, i mean, israel buys their weapons and says that's legit but we're giving it in covid relief to hamas tied organizations. you know they know that. 10 seconds of looking and you know who is affiliated with hurricane irma. rachel: the ngos have been used to steal our tax dollars and fund idea logical problems for -- ideological projects for years. it's happened at our southern border as well, so many ngos are undermining american law but that's what they do. the people pay off the politicians, the politicians give our money to ngos and ngos assist in opening our southern border and that whole process which we know has a political objective as well. >> there's american money sloshing around into every side of every war in every debate in every aspect that you could possibly imagine. it would not be true to pretend we can spread our wings across the globe militarily or with our dollars and somehow we remain with the compass pointed north in all turns. we have money going everywhere. it leads to one of two conclusions, either stop militarily or financially spreading yourself around the globe or elect better leadership if possible to stop this kind of thing. >> what are we getting for it? the money, military aid to egypt and we can't get them to open their border. rachel: i thought maybe we could get senator menendez to help us out with that, could he help us open the border, he might be the guy to call. >> yeah. rachel: oh, boy. just such a mess. but yes, we are over-tended on so many -- over-extended on so many fronts, that's why i brought it up with mark levine who i respect and like very much but concerned about the military industrial complex if you will, what you were referring to in terms of money being sloshed around. >> you also brought up ngos. rachel: are ngos and everything else. unwe have a war in ukraine, we're clearly funding that, we're going broke, this whole situation right now could cause an oil shock. we had a guest on earlier who talked about that, what that would do to us with our policy now that we no longer -- the biden administration declared war on american energy. there's so many facets so what's happening right now and i think it's important for americans to understand what our limits are. >> yeah. and at the same time let israel do what israel's got to. rachel: that's fair enough. >> to defend itself. >> we're >> it will be tough fighting. you know, as a veteran of a lot of urban fights, fallujah being the most close quarter, because it was a set play. i think what you'll see in gaza is going to be more reminiscent of world war ii, world war i, mariople in ukraine, sub-terrainan fighting, this is rough business. honestly, if the enemy, the terrorist, hamas and hezbollah, they pride themselves on symmetrical fights, terrorists die en masse when they fight conventionally. this is a fight that ends in tears and bloodshed for hamas. they'll be treated on the battle field. what it will take to do that, that's the thing that's going to be the gut punch. israel is on the right side. they've got the fight. they're fighting for their survival, fighting for their people. getting from point a to point b in an urban landscape like northern gaza with all that rubble, that's some of the most difficult fighting we could imagine. >> you know, david, it was pointed out to us the other distinguishing thing is you guys had at least the support of some suni locals. i don't know that there's any support at all in gaza for -- i'm sure there's not for israeli forces. the other one i heard brought up, st stalingrad, world war iia city completely destroyed. take that to your fight, what that means, you talk about crawling over rubble, constantly exposed to snipers, what are you talking about. >> we went 30 years since black hawk down, 97% of those casualties occurred outside of buildings. the fight is to the objective, once you get into the building now it's the ok corral, it's all on your training, target, you know, target acquisition, you know, finding out who the target is. we had the advantage of not having a civilian population present. this is very, very difficult for the idf because no one wants it -- we are -- think about how many hundreds of lives americans over the years have given so that we don't have to engage civilians. that's the difference between what the west does, nato and israel, when we fight. we fight for the innocent men and women. we fight so that we are willing to put ourselves in front of fire, go back to the elections in iraq. you saw marines and arrest a myy soldiers, standing in front of men, women and children, they were absorbing the rounds so people could have a shot at democracy. this is the opposite. hamas is using this as a shield, this as propaganda and shame on the media outlets out there, giving the fuel to this islamic enemy, allowing the propaganda in newspapers, op-ed sections, on college campuses. there's a lot of shame to go around and that's one thing we didn't have in 2004 was a media that was hell-bent on showing the american forces in f a allujah as the enemy, this is a troubling time. >> the other thing you didn't have, i think this is to be true, you didn't have a hostage situation going on at the exact same time. you point out civilians embedded into the enemy and you've got a shield of at least, what do we have, erin cowen was on the program earlier, he used the number 400 hostages. so you've got -- i don't know if those actions will take place separately, a hostage rescue, then the ground forces come in or if it's sigh mull contain si, another factor. >> we didn't have a schizophrenic state department and administration. with all due respect to the commander in chief, where are we? we're getting reports that he's trying to tell netanyahu when to go in, when not to go in. the only thing more shameful than an american president telling an israeli president when to invade, when not to take terrorists out, is the fact that our allies don't even care. that's the problem. when we become insignificant because we can't make decisions, when we decide that the americans left in afghanistan aren't worth leaving the gate, when 13 brave american souls are lost and we even leave the wire. we are depending on ngos and state department and veterans showing up out of their own pocket to rescue americans, that's what we did in afghanistan. the world is watching everything the united states does. and when our enemies have no fear, we're more insecure as a people. >> david, scheduled to be on the will cain pod cast tomorrow for a deeper and longer conversation, had his experience and how it applies to what may happen in israel. still ahead, far reaching consequences, that's what the iranian regime is vowing if israel goes ahead with the ground invasion of gaza, maria bartiromo joins us on that, next. we're traveling all across america talking to people about their hearts. ooh, take this exit. how's the heart? we'll talk with the former crown prince of iran, he was exiled of course, his father exiled. we're going to talk with him about the backdrop of iran and their threats and then of course we're talking about the united states and the impact here with a wide open border. we've seen people come in and get apprehended on the terrorist watch list. kari lake is living i she will join us as well. we'll focus on the impact to america in these dangerous times and you've been reporting. your conversation with mark levine, you were spot on to bring up china and to bring up the issues around this nuclear debacle here because china, if i'm china and i'm sitting in beijing and i'm xi jinping, and i know eventually i want to go into taiwan, when do i want to do it? do i want to do it while joe biden is in the driver's seat? probably. so we are waiting and watching for aggression out of china that could happen any moment as well. and china supports iran. iran supports these terrorist groups, hamas and hezbollah so you were absolutely spot on to bring up china and i totally agree with you. rachel: thank you, maria. you've done such a great job of talking about our economic state. we're in a lot of trouble economically, not exactly a great time to have wars and problems on all fronts globally. maria: that's right, rachel. that's why we're also speaking this morning with kevin mccarthy, california congressman who was ousted a week and-a-half ago as speaker of the house. here we are facing one of the most dangerous times in this country's history for the world with two wars underway as we speak and we don't even have a leader of the house of representatives. what i'm told right now is there is a real effort to get jim jordan across the finish line but the last i spoke with some congress people late last night, they felt he didn't have the votes. i don't know. we'll see. kevin mccarthy's going to give us breaking news on this when he joins us coming up as well. so we're talking about all the iimplications r zeroing in on an impact to a safe and peaceful america. rachel: maria, looking forward to the show. thanks so much. you have a great lineup as usual. maria: we'll see you in 10 minutes. thank. rachel: still ahead had, finding strength in times of crisis as the world marks one week since the heinous actions of hamas terrorists. one american rabbi joins us live with a message for the jewish community throughout the world. quote, huge earthquake for israel if their operations in gaza continue. >> now, let's get to mike toepin on the ground in southern israel with the latest. >> reporter: good morning, pete and rachel. the artillery behind me has been active behind me over the last half hour. we saw big plumes of smoke cocking crock-- coming out of t. the ground offensive did not materialize. there's reporting in the new york times that weather was a fact to that would have limited the ability of drones and aircraft to spot detail on the ground. what i'm hearing from sources inside the idf, pretty high in the idf, is that there are a number oknack tosser and the sa- factors and the safety of the soldiers was paramount and they're trying to maximize the factors before they begin the offensive into the gaza strip. the idf says they have had success with air strikes overnight. -- catastrophe. yes, it is. my next point is this. what if israelis had not stopped hamas when they did, 48 hours after they attacked israel? do you think -- do you think if these people had the opportunito blow out the entire nation of israel and all the people of israel but for the fact they were stopped wouldn't have done it? we talk about casualties. you have one country trying to prevent them, their own casualties and the casualties of their enemy that's trying to destroy them. you have hamas, backed by iran, hezbollah and the rest of them who not only want jews dead, anybody who gets in their way they want dead. we were attacked on 9/11, and before 9/11. these people murdered marines in their bar racks, these people took americans hoss tj take, these people hope -- hostage. he's these they killed 29 amerin one of the worst terrorist attacks against us. and i'm telling you with exactly the wrong mindset, the wrong psychology, we talk about the greatest generation, world war ii. this is pathetic. this is pathetic. we know what this enemy is. we know what they're capable of. we have video of what they were doing, like having real-time video in the concentration camps. we didn't have real-time video in the concentration camps. we have real-time video right now and then of course this whole thing on these college campuses, this whole thing where one u.s. administration after another has allowed hamas, the mmuslimmuslim brotherhood of pae have allowed this in our college campuses. it's called students for palestine. we have a group called care in this country which backed democrats, has backed them, then they've they given ad vice to the fbi, it was born in a meeting in philadelphia in the 1990s with ties to hamas. we're destroying ourselves from within. we appear to be ready to get israel -- there's two aircraft carriers out there. at the same time, we announce we're not getting involved. we send more mixed messages to these barbarians than is image a inable. i don't care how many air craft carriers are out there, if we're not prepared to use them, they're just sitting ducks. so i'm so furious about this spiral of propaganda in this country, people don't understand also that the media in america during the third li ri reich. covered up the holocaust, covered up the holocaust. the new york times knows it. i did a show on it here. i challenged the new york times to send somebody to debate me. they can't. because in 2001 they wrote their own report, how disgraceful they were. their chief correspondent in berlin was sympathetic to the third reich. don't think this is wokeism or liberalism. we have an enen enemy from witn that's endangering us. have you to be insane, especially after watching this, to not close our border. you have to be out of your damn mind. if joe biden doesn't care about american citizens, if joe biden's not going to protect american citizens whether it's crime in our cities, open border, whatever it is, i would just say to the israelis, you do what you have to do because i don't -- joe biden gives these speeches, they're very passionate, people like them. he is sending as many arms as they can but tying their hands behind their back, this has nothing to do with weather. they're holding off because they're trying to get the hostages out. we don't even know if they're alive anymore. they're butchers. only reason we keep hostages and probably not all of them is as a negotiating tool to get money because they saw what biden did before. it's like every conceivable wrong thing that can be done is being done right now but i would say this to the iranians who watch this network and every other and i would say this to hezbollah. you push these people, you push their backs against the wall, you want to see hell? i have no inside information of course. i suspect they will unleash it and they're not going to tell the united states because the ununited states would rather israel lose than do whatever they have to do to win so put that on the table of debate now. what are they going to do if they're surrounded? somewhat are they going to do if 150,000 advanced missiles are going to be shot, what are they going to do if iran gets involved, they can't win a conventional war. what are they the going to do? i think i know what they'd do. i know what we would do. we would destroy the enemy. because otherwise, we're exterminated. that's all i have to say. rachel: mark, you brought up nuclear war. i mean, essentially. and also we're talking about america's involvement. and -- >> no, we're not. no, we're not. no, we're not. if you -- look. rachel: i'm sorry, i just -- i -- >> hold on. ray on -- rachel, when youask qu need to answer them, not just ask them. what will they do if there's a multiple front war, what are they going to do have they have hostages, what are they going to do? die, i guess. rachel: we had a general on earlier in the show who said that our military is not doing well, you know, recruitments are low, they're not focused. he described a military that's not prepared in many ways and yet there we are in ukraine. we could have another front here. china's on the move. this those be -- we have to pause and b th think a little bt here because it sounds like it's a world towards war. >> honestly, i don't know what you're talking about. what does ukraine and china have to do with this. i'm talking about the israelis. rachel: the israelis have their issue but i'm concerned that a lot of the talk that's going on now is about involving the united states and that's another matter and it's not anti-semetic to say that we as americans should take a pause. >> okay. look. i didn't say it was anti-semetic. that's number one. so i don't appreciate that either. number two, the israeli haven't askeds us to get involved, they asked us to give them equipment. they have their own arsenal which they never admit. while you bring up all these issues, to me which kind of fox precisely -- you're the prime minister of israel. you're about to send hundreds of thousands of your troops in to take out the enemy once and for all. we saw the slaughter that took place. he's not thinking about ukraine or china and neither are we. and i'm saying to you this. i'm telling you the truth. sometimes it's tough. if israel is going to face annihilation, you think they have the nukes in there to collect dust? i'm not even encouraging anything be done. i'm not even saying nuke them, nuke them. i'm saying iran needs to understand and hezbollah needs to understand that if you think you're going to wipe out these people, you're not. so we have to do a reality. and reality is but america's involved in this -- america, i said they're going to drop them -- in my opinion, they might. i don't know. i have no idea. i'm the only one bringing this up. i'm not encouraging it. but if you're a country that has that kind of weaponry and your people are going to be slaughtered as they were except this time totally destroyed, they need to be thinking about all their options and my guess is they are. i don't know. so when we go on tv and say what are they going to do, they're surrounded, they're going to wipe them out, we can't send troops. fine. but if i'm the president or >> it will be tough fighting. you know, as a veteran of a lot of urban fights, fallujah being the most close quarter, because it was a set play. i think what you'll see in gaza is going to be more reminiscent of world war ii, world war i, mariople in ukraine, sub-terrainan fighting, this is rough business. honestly, if the enemy, the terrorist, hamas and hezbollah, they pride themselves on symmetrical fights, terrorists die en masse when they fight conventionally. this is a fight that ends in tears and bloodshed for hamas. they'll be treated on the battle field. what it will take to do that, that's the thing that's going to be the gut punch. israel is on the right side. they've got the fight. they're fighting for their survival, fighting for their people. getting from point a to point b in an urban landscape like northern gaza with all that rubble, that's some of the most difficult fighting we could imagine. >> you know, david, it was pointed out to us the other distinguishing thing is you guys had at least the support of some suni locals. i don't know that there's any support at all in gaza for -- i'm sure there's not for israeli forces. the other one i heard brought up, st stalingrad, world war iia city completely destroyed. take that to your fight, what that means, you talk about crawling over rubble, constantly exposed to snipers, what are you talking about. >> we went 30 years since black hawk down, 97% of those casualties occurred outside of buildings. the fight is to the objective, once you get into the building now it's the ok corral, it's all on your training, target, you know, target acquisition, you know, finding out who the target is. we had the advantage of not having a civilian population present. this is very, very difficult for the idf because no one wants it -- we are -- think about how many hundreds of lives americans over the years have given so that we don't have to engage civilians. that's the difference between what the west does, nato and israel, when we fight. we fight for the innocent men and women. we fight so that we are willing to put ourselves in front of fire, go back to the elections in iraq. you saw marines and arrest a myy soldiers, standing in front of men, women and children, they were absorbing the rounds so people could have a shot at democracy. this is the opposite. hamas is using this as a shield, this as propaganda and shame on the media outlets out there, giving the fuel to this islamic enemy, allowing the propaganda in newspapers, op-ed sections, on college campuses. there's a lot of shame to go around and that's one thing we didn't have in 2004 was a media that was hell-bent on showing the american forces in f a allujah as the enemy, this is a troubling time. >> the other thing you didn't have, i think this is to be true, you didn't have a hostage situation going on at the exact same time. you point out civilians embedded into the enemy and you've got a shield of at least, what do we have, erin cowen was on the program earlier, he used the number 400 hostages. so you've got -- i don't know if those actions will take place separately, a hostage rescue, then the ground forces come in or if it's sigh mull contain si, another factor. >> we didn't have a schizophrenic state department and administration. with all due respect to the commander in chief, where are we?
