& friends" rachel: welcome back to "fox & friends". we're beginning in hour with terrorists attack and israel beginning with a full scale invasion of gaza. >> we're pounding our enemies with unprecedented force and i stress this is only the beginning. our enemies have only begun to pay the price. i will not detail our plan but i'll tell you this is only the beginning. will: fleeing northern gaza and evacuation deadline set to expire in one hour. pete: an agreement is being reached to alphorn nationals to evacuate the gaza strip into northern egypt and trey i didn't knows is live on the -- trey yingst is live on the ground in southern israel. trey. reporter: yeah, guys, new information we're getting in now from the israelis and since saturday morning when that massacre took place in southern israel, they have also been focusing on the west bank detaining 281 pal tin indians and 157 of them hamas. it's the situation in the west bank and the worry they have happening here in the south could boil over and spread throughout the region. we do know overnight the israelis continue air strikes against the gaza strip and we watch from the southern part of israel looking into northern gaza, you can see explosions lighting up the night sky and israelis say two senior hamas officials were killed in those strikes and one is a company commander and a commander for the top elite unit and the head of the ar aerial systems plannig that massacre on saturday morning this. comes as thousands of gazans are fleeing from the israeli military and they've extend that had window to allow the palestinians to leave their home in gaza city and it's an indication pointing to the coming hours that ground operation could begin and we've seen it ourselves and tanks and apcs and infantry troops along the border getting into locations and they appear to be staging and entering gaza and we know we're learning that southern gaza has a lot of foreign nationals that have gone to the border and rafah border crossing and they've been allowed to leave gaza from a backdoor deal that works with the unit and it is egyptian partners and see if that goes through and foreign nationals and we'll get thousands of gazans to heed the warning ands get out of the line of battle. will: trey, two part question on that and we hear a lot about american citizens in gaza. can you help me understand that, is that dual citizenship with tourism and i can't imagine there's a lot of tourism with gaza and american citizens if you have any information on what we're talking about and then the second part of miscue is when we talk quite a bit about the fact egypt won't allow gazan population, why won't they let the ga gazans into egypt? reporter: great question. the americans in gaza and palestinian americans with dual citizenship and they live in the united states and come back in the summer or fall to visit family they have there. we're also talking about aid workers that were there for inter-fashional organizations doing some -- international organizations doing some work when this all kicked and you have no indication this was going to take place and people inside looking to get out and in terms of egyptians and the president of egypt doesn't want any sort of refugees in the sinai peninsula and this has been float to allow pressure and civilian population in the densely populated area to enter the northern part of egypt. and it's critical that some solutions come to the surface here and we're talking about more than 2 million people in gaza. the vast majority are not militants and many people are caught in the cross fire of this developing war. we've seen the images from inside gaza and talking about many women and children, hundreds of them killed since this war started with the massacre on saturday morning here in southern israel. and there is a continued effort by the international community to put pressure on the egyptians and the israelis to allow the passage of palestinian civilians. verifiable civilians into northern egypt and this is something that will continue to be part of the discussion as that conversation develops. rachel: that's a chip to use to make sure there's a place for them to go. my question is that the israelis told the civilians to evacuate. we've heard that hamas is telling them to stay. what are you seeing? whose advice are they heeding and are they leaving in mass numbers? reporter: they are leaving in mass numbers. the number from what we understand has gone down today. there still are people going south and there are traffic jams on the two main rots that lead to the south of gaza towards the hon yunis area and you can hear the fighter jets and israeli jets going back and forth in the northern part of the gaza strip and preparing for that operation and we should note that fox news talked to diplomatic source that indicated hamas was keeping people inside their homes that had been warned about impending air strikes and not talking about general evacuation orders and specifically coming to air strikes and hamas understands there's a parallel information war going on here and comes to the casualty rate, sometimes they're able to use that to their advantage. it is tragic that this conflict plays out on the bodies of civilians because there's many peaceful, innocent people inside gaza including women and children that simply have nowhere to go. pete: trey, does hamas own up to that and how did they rationalize their home and they know what's coming for the civilian population there? reporter: hamas officials lie a lot of time. i was speaking with a senior hamas official in gaza city blatantly lying to me and he said hamas fighters not targeting ziti real civilians and we've seen them in their homes and kitchens and bedrooms. bedrooms you walk through the streets of be'ere and i should keep my language appropriate but they're lying and it's a joke they're trying to pass it off as the truth. the reality is they came into southern israel and slaughtered women and children in their homes. they also killed a number of soldiers and then they took people hostage back into the gaza strip. it's important that when they do speak and you hear the statements, just yesterday hamas officials took to telegram and basically live broadcast 18 minutes of what took place on saturday morning, tried to promote as a massacre and resistance and slaughter of civilians and no heads up and took no mercy on anyone. saw the videos of babies that they killed and so it's difficult when you try to understand the mindset of the militants inside gaza. if they're willing to do this to israeli civilians, they're certainly willing to inflict this terror on their own people. will: trey, thank you for that report in southern israel. pete: trey is doing amazing work there and also very careful to stick to what we knows and the sources that he has and what he's seen with his own eyes so when he says something like that, it's not hyperbole and he's not trying to mis-characterize anybody. you can imagine the volume of information he gets from hamas sources or folks in gaza trying to spin it one way or another. he's seeing things and relaying to us. rachel: we just saw the video of a 12-year-old boy being bound, his arms bound behind his back, terrified, pulled out of his home, out of his bed, and being taken away by terrorists. i mean, that's just horrifying and they can't say that they weren't targeting civilians when we just saw that video. will: now we'll have israel's response. in the last hour we are a fascinating conversation with aaron cohen, a former idf member on what this ground invasion could detail. >> what you're looking at here is the largest hostage siege until the history of modern warfare and i mean that hamas will not allow the palestinians to exit or major exodus of palestinians and the president will not open at the rafah crossing and they're purposely creating this pressure cooker so that they can use the palestinians without a question as human shields. i wouldn't be surprised if the smoke screen of the counter offensive is used to blend the hostage rescue efforts simultaneously and that creates deception and it also buys -- also allows operators to be able to deal with tired terrorists. tired terrorists don't shoot it straight. pete: a fascinating conversation with aaron cohen and again, he's speculating in many ways and so are we. we don't know precisely the scope of a ground assault but you know top of mind for u.s. officials and most especially on the ground are the hostages, actively in the gaza strip and does it become a full on invasion or as aaron suggested could it be a smoke screen as they move in with infantry units and special forces units to then do a massive hostage rescue or attempt one? on a scale that no one has seen before considering the scope of the enemy and the tunnel system in gaza as well, which we've detailed extensively. will: you've been there, pete, you've seen this tunnel system and you've seen it with your own eyes and you have some perspective on that to give us, i mean, exactly how extensive this is when we say a tunnel system under gaza. pete: that's a graphic, those are graphics based on information given to us by the israeli defense forces. to give you a sense of the scope of the hamas tunnel system inside gaza, they say upwards of 300 linear miles. 300 linear miles of tunnels underneath so our cameras are trained on what's aboveground. what's most significant to idf is what's underneath and you've got to believe they have a sense of a mapping of those tunneling, baa probably new ones they're not aware of and where could hostages be in that situation? it makes it immensely complex and as you mentioned, l i had a clans to go over to israel five years ago with the idf and take a look at hamas terror tunnels in south israel. here's a portion of it. here we are just roughly 700 meters from the gaza border inside a tunnel. >> it's a terror tunnel. they build this kind of structure. pete: every day it's part of your job to find more terror tunnels? >> from october to january, we found just in the last few months three tunnels. pete: you're finding they will right now as hamas continues to dig under the gaza strip into the israeli population? i want to get a sense of what it's like to fight in a tunnel like this. in the infantry, you're usually outside of different conflicts and you're underground but this is a whole nother level. >> it's a psychological challenge to fight inside tunnels like this. pete: i'm cramping up and sore already and we've been in here for two minutes. just imagine the difficulty of fighting in a tunnel like this but also the ideological dedication of a radical islamic enemy willing to spend months and months and months and months and months underground picking away at the soil putting in steel, putting in lights, pumping in air just so that tay can kill innocent civilians. that was one tunnel, guys a. terror tunnel into israel. i mentioned 700 meters inland and gives you a sense of how deep they go, but underneath gaza there's tunnel cities. you've got barracks, you've got living areas, planning areas, cooking areas, they pump oxygen down it there, electricity, it's a maze. will: unique perspective. glad you had the opportunity to share that with us. it's the word tunnels, you know and a tunnel system i think doesn't exactly communicate exactly what we're talk about here. rachel: it's fascinating to see and you said there's actually -- they have -- we're seeing a narrow tunnel there but you're saying other parts are large. pete: some wide enough for vehicles and that's yours truly biggest fear of those in southern israel was the middle of the night hamas terrific ters coming up through the ground in a field come together kibbutz and that was their worst nightmare come true. israel became a little too reliant on technology on the boarder and ground sensors and sonar and steel plates into the ground to prevent the tunnels and it wasn't the tunnels into israel that became the source of the attack but they'll be a source of the problem in gaza. rachel: a lot to unpack in the coming days as that came to be with so much technology and focus on security in israel how this attack came to be without the israeli government and security forces knowing or even our own is really something to query. will: back here at home, incredibly outrageous story from stanford. a lecturer at stanford conduct ago course that was required and it's a 101 course for all freshmen. sort of a global humanities-type course at stanford this. professor and we don't -- i don't his hi name was revealed or i'd be happy to share that name with you. sectioned off or asked the jewish students in the classroom to raise their hand after they identified he asked them to stand up, he or she, stand up and leave behind their belongings and go stand in the corner of the room. then from there the professor asked those students how many jews died in the holocaust. the students said 6 million. the professor instructed them that's fewer than the number of people dying from colonization and israel is a colonialism pyre and apparently the lesson from stanford, one on the evils of colonization and somehow ends up simulating essentially a anti-semitic holocaust scene of separating the jews in the classroom and minimizing the holocaust. holocaust. rachel: it was an absolutely extraordinary thing that we learned happened and i'm still in shock. i did see a picture of the professor and i believe it was a male professor or african american professor. pete: this is across higher and he is look at where the money comes from for the middle eastern ones over the last 30 years and hundreds of millions of dollars flowing intoe lite universities from saudi arabia and kansas city chiefs far with a very particular -- qatar with a very particular point of view and stan fords to ivy leagues and others. will: it's deeper than that and how is it that blm chicago puts out a fly that we support palestine and has a para gliders of hamas dropping into southern israel. it goes back. the soviet union supported the arabism accept ragainitist states in the -- accept rag re-rafahtist states in the middle east and that's how so many leftist movements caged in race politics in part became also a proxy for for capitalist versus communist in the middle east and the 90s getting into everything is shades of what color you are. israelis and jews are seen as wider and extension of white supremacy and colonization and it's all in the end, it's stupid beyond belief. stupid dressed up and intellectualization and deep into the far left, far right divide communism versus the west. pete: correct. and i think it has its root in anti-westernism and anti-western civilization and marxist and communist and all in common cause with islamists and they found that common cause with universities and grievance politics and identity politics and now it's under colonization and it's code for deconstructing this. >> i think israel found guilty of this when you consider the heritage of the jewish people to that land. pete: which is why you watch palestinians and arabs in jerusalem, they're working hard to undue the jewish connection of jews to jerusalem and ex-kanexcavating and gettiing rf artifacts of the jews. how far do you want to go back? will: one of the dumbest terms being use in modern american is stolen land. there's no such thing as stolen land. you want to go back in history, somebody took something from someone. pete: that's exactly right. rachel: what's interest asking how many my guest betsy i had earlier on the show said how many liberal, ignorant white kids from connecticut were in so many of those protests. i think what you're seeing here is that so many of the problems that coeur country is facing right now in terms of wokism and even, you know, so many of these protests that have given people pause is that all extensions from the university and they're able to -- there's a marxist message being indoctrinated into so many of the kids and they're able to see everything through this very simplistic prism of oppressed versus oppressor and in this case, they're able to look at it this way. i guarantee you, if you put up a map, a lot of kids wouldn't know where to find israel on the map. will: couldn't find new jersey from connecticut. pete: it's only anti-christian, anti-jewish, anti-western enemy bringing islamists together with lesbians. who would otherwise kill -- will: had the palestinian flag sitting next to lgbtq flag next to each other outside the house. reconcile that. pete: can't unless there's a joint enemy. rachel: or a joint. pete: good point. rachel: join fox corporation in supporting israel and emergency fund in the association with the united jewish appeal and scan the qr code here and donate to ugafedn y.org. right now smoke is filling the sky in gaza city as forces target gaza terrorist hubs. will: agents on high alert catching two lebanese nationals in their 20s in eagle pass, texas. former acting dhs secretary ken cuccinelli on the dangers of open boarders, border patrol agents encountering thousands of special interest migrants illegally crocs our southern border and officials apprehending two lebanese naggals and egyptian -- nationals and egyptian man this week alone. 24 is sparking concerns as the war rages on in israel and here with reaction with former acting dhs secretary ken cuccinelli and thank you for joining us this morning. this is such a important topic we're talking about here. since 2023, 359 known terrifictists that have crossed over. >> known. rachel: those are known terrorists. ken, we're talking so much this week about the complacency on the part ovisrael with these a-- of israel with these attacks. how complacent are we being in >> we're envieding in the world's most devastating and evil people, frankly, and making it ease jim jordan and turning the door open and -- easy and turning the door open, if you remember the love boat, julie mccoy is at the border welcoming everybody aboard. doesn't matter where they're from and, you know, i emphasize known. the worst ones try not to be known. many of them will come in simply because joe biden made it so easy, but because the world knows how easy it is, more of these types of terrorists types will try and frankly succeed. they can walk right into the country right now. frankly they can get the border patrol help. not the border patrol agents doing this but because of the joe biden and mayorkas policies, they can actually encounter our law enforcement and if they're not already on terror watch lists, they come in under this administration as we have heard, commented on the campaign trails, plural more than one candidate said this that this is building in a future terrorist attack. statistically, there can hardly be any question about that. rachel: ken, during the commercial break, pete, will and i were talking about what kind of coordination there could be with cartels and terrorist organizations. we know that's happened and ma do you know about that? >> so what you should know about the cartels, first of all we've talked before about how the cartels control the flows across the border from the southern side of the border. part of what they can do with that is aim their massive flows at border patrol, occupy them and now the texas national guard and law enforcement and texas is now finally engaged in this, and they can occupy in all the people and take their high value border crossers who are being paid more to move across the border and through what they've protected as safe corridors that are empty of all our personnel and they've completely occupied the limited available american forces and again, i'm including texas now in that, entirely with the flows of what i'll call ordinary illegal aliens and they become a tool in this invasion used to clear the way for much more dangerous and much more high value targets. we're talking about terrorists. this could be chinese spies, russian spies, there's a lot of different types of bad folks that can work with the cartels, pay them a little extra money because that's all they care about to get across that border when we've made it this easy. rachel: i worry so much, ken, about priorities and only so much our fbi and intelligence options can do at one time. we see them foe cuss so much ongoing after peaceful latin mass catholics directing their attention on trump supporters, on anyone who questions the last election. white supremacy is what they claim is the biggest problem along with climate change but how worried are you that we're just not even focused on this and it's such an obvious problem? >> i've been very worried about that since biden started making these re-deck louis pronouncements when he was elected and i'd point out their immigration policies and open border policy haves been underwater in polling with democrat voters since mar of 2021. this is not normal for democrats. this is not normal. this is truly radical policy and you and i are talking about one of the more serious consequences that israel and hamas brought into clear focus and it's going on for two and a half years. rachel: if it's border secure and thinking about what's happening on the board eric side this. ken cuccinelli, thank you so much for joining us this morning. >> good to be with you. rachel: ewe got it. still ahead, biden says the white house is working like hell to bring american hostages in israel home. >> we'll do everything in our power to find them. everything in our power to find them. rachel: let's hope he is. tim kennedy is no stranger to hostage rescue and he joins us next. ♪ your brain is an amazing thing. but as you get older, it naturally begins to change, causing a lack of sharpness, or even trouble with recall. thankfully, the breakthrough in ranger and save our allies cofounder tim kennedy joining us. tim, thank you for being here. what do you make of sot far american administration response to americans being held? >> as you know, it's one of the toughest jobs in the world, hostage rescue and hostage negotiation. what in the past few years there's very, very strategic mistakes about attaching a price tag to americans and beforehand there was a con generals if you touched americans -- consequence if you touched americans and we'd go through hell to find them and go into the desert. if you look at resent exa examps of navy seals going into somalia to rescue one person camtured and every single person that had something to do with it died in the desert and releasing $6 billion of restricted funds and this type of hostage rescue could not be more complex and it's the largest hostage rescue in america since teheran, sings the embassy. rachel: how much of this, i'm so fascinated by all this, is it that we're going to go in and rescue or is there negotiations going on? what do you think are the plans being made right now and how much of it is even possible as they're starting to bomb gaza right now? war crimes play a big part of this and they burnt babies alive, they killed babies, they intentionally targeted holocaust survivors and kidnapped americans knowingly that these were americans. sot atrocities they know they've committed in the past week, what would they use hostages for to protect themselves, protect their positions and then use them for leverage in other negotiations. these are truly evil people and they -- i can't grasp the type of things that they would do to these people in an effort to try and win other leverage opportunities in negotiations and the thought of going into gaza is incomprehensible and it's inconscious what they're doing but on the the thought of going into gaza block by block and finding the people and a booby-trap in every corner and these people are buried inside of tunnels and they could use chemical weapons and nothing is beyond what hamas could do and use hostages and even the young children as hostages as leverage for other things. it's just truly see $150 a barrel and benefits iran and benefits russia. there's a lot of geopolitical consequences to increased price of oil. will: refugee crisis and whether or not they'd be allowed into egypt and this of course we give a lot of this could impact the budget as well. accepting the jeff gees and calls to refugees and set for the united states and next milled eastern opportunities have. >> there's rumblings and deserves it is own major more than worthy of its own long conversation and what serves supporting them with an additional line and america going back here to the living room with rachel. will: there was a moment this week and you're well aware probably that congresswoman rashida tlaib displayed the palestinian flag along with lgbtq outside of her office. then in turn, republican congressman brian mast wore an idf military uniform into the halls of congress as well. he said tlaib has her flag and i have this. mast served with the idf and of course served honorably with the united states military, lost both of his legs in service. this is what he had to say about why he wore an idf uniform. >> what's with your threads today? tell us anything about those? >> certainly. tlaib has her flag, i've got my uniform. will: we've had a conversation about this this morning, the three of us. i so respect congressman mast in the service that he's given to this country. i find it a bridge too far to wear the military uniform of the military government, i have one believe you have one allee gins and that's to the red white and blue. you are to serve the constituents of the people of florida and no divided loyalties and don't mean you support our allies and i believe that is wrong hawaii he did is wrong and you serve america first. rachel: i agree with you, liliana, who heartedly and would go a step further than that. i don't like the ukraine flags or the palestinian flags being worn on lapels and i believe that our congressmen should have america's interest first and they should display that as they're representing our country. i think about myself, i'm mexican american. i would not -- when it comes to what's happening at the border, i look at america's interests. i believe what's happening is an invasion there. as a mexican american, my interests are america first, and so i think that he was trying to make a point and it was a bad one and a bridge too far as well. pete: me concern is with the divided allegiance of the hamas caucus and rashida tlaib and unable to identify the slaughter. that's the point brian mast is making. if you're not calling out hamas what they r squad, then i can stand with my allies in an even more dramatic fashion. i didn't know the fact that brian mast not only served with the u.s. military but went onto help with ordnance disposal in the idf. i don't have any doubt where his allegiance lie withs the united states of america. she was trying to make a statement in contrast with the hamas support from rashida tlaib. rachel: for the record, he is -- i looked into it, he is not jewish, he's christian. he went there, i think, with those allegiances in mind to serve but it's interesting he chose to use this as a way to make a statement with rashida tlaib and the squad. will: that's a new explosion on your screen over gaza city. kind of a large explosion that we're monitoring this morning there. pete: there's been so far 6,000 bombings dropped on gaza. i mean, when you look at the siege of isis, that's what we would drop sometimes in a month. what you're seeing is unprecedented preparation of the battlefield from israel. because they understand the danger of a ground invasion or incursion or hostage rescue and have to prepare that ground to protect their people. let's hope civilians are getting out, which is what israel is calling for and hamas wants to prevent. rachel: according to trey yingst, there are many, many palestinians trying to get to the border there and get out of the country. we're hoping they can do that. we'll get live analysis by the way are from retired general anthony tata and jocko willinik later in the show. can we get real clear about life with psoriasis?
