We should not expect everything that we had in the last 15 years since hamas took over the gaza strip. So 15 years we tried everything. We tried allowing them to go out and work. We tried making it easier for them to build facilities. We tried we had numerous conflicts with them, but we at the end of the day, we got to saturday morning when a group of theres no other way to call them other than barbarians going and savaging and really killing 900 people and kidnapping many more. This is something that we cannot live with. We as a state, we cannot have an isis entity right next to our door. Okay . So this operation, which i dont know the details of and i cannot elaborate, i can tell you it will be different than anything weve seen so far. With regard to the u. S. Reaction over the weekend on sunday, we heard from Secretary Blinken and finer the State Department as well saying that they could not confirm that iran had been involved in this action. What do you say to that . I think there are different views to that also in the administration. We have information that they were involved. The king dont want to activate a credible peace process. What do you say about that statement from the saudis . Martha, its great to be with you. Its important to recall the context for this. The context is that the reason that hamas attacked today with the full support of iran and im also certain sitting here with a full green light from iran, the reason they did it is because they were feeling like they might be isolated. The kingdom of saudi arabia was about to recognize the home fundamental right of the jewish homeland, the right for israel to exist. I hope that that effort will continue. I think the statement that the king of saudi arabia put out is consistent with their longstanding position. I am confident that the iranians fear a resolution of this between israel and other nations just like the Abram Ham Accords isolated iran. What caused this to happen is the iranians feeling like theyre about to be cut out of The Middle East stability and peace and prosperity. Martha how do you change that dynamic at this point . Well, martha, you start with not giving them 6 billion. You know, ive hearder that story line. Theyre gas lighting the American People. We are big enough and powerful enough and effective enough nation to look after all of these desperate National Security threats. One is Climate Change. Martha does the United States believe that iran was behind this attack . The Wall Street Journal says it was. Can you confirm that for us . Im not able to confirm that reporting. Were going to look at this hard. We havent seen any evidence or intelligence that were speaking that points to direct iranian participation in these attacks. Martha why does the Wall Street Journal have that and the white house doesnt . Im not going to speak about intelligence matters. What were collecting here on national tv. That said, martha, make no mistake and weve been very honest about this. Iran of course is complicit in these attacks because of their longstanding support to hamas and other terrorist networks. Thats why we have more than 400 sanctions against them and beefed up our presence in the gulf area and in the eastern mediterranean. We have to make sure we protect our National Security interests against a Growing Threat by iran. Martha we have reported that the gerald ford Aircraft Carrier is in the region now in the eastern mediterranean. The most up to date, top of the line that we have. That has gone in to the region. The 6 billion that the qataris are holding that was unfrozen in order to get three hostages back, john, that you said, theres Strings Attached to that. Is that money now going to be refrozen . When the sirens went off initially on saturday morning at 6 30, it was my entire Apartment Building, 35 of us live there. Theyre all 18 and 19yearolds. Were all very close. We were packed like sardines in this tiny stairwell and hearing the debris and the rockets very close to us. Martha what it is like in terms of the conditions . Do you guys have enough food, enough water . We have enough food and water. But its definitely a challenge getting to the grocery store. Its scary just to be outside. Nobody wants to leave the apartment. So we have access to food and water. But its just a trip to get there. Martha so the group youre with, are they updating you guys . This is the plan. Were going to try to put you on a bus . What are they telling you . Its everybody to everyone. Some people are staying and some people have already evacuated to various countries. Martha what was your feeling about this when you went there . Did you feel safe in tel aviv before this started happen something. Totally safe. This is unprecedented. I didnt feel unsafe in tel aviv at all. Ive been extremely happy there. Its been like my home away from home. I cant help but think how my life will develop more in tel aviv and in israel. This has been extraordinarily scary. How is everyone holding up . Im sure theres a lot of emotions with your friends and people handle things like this differently, right . The building is full of tears with and a lot of terror. But were all very close. Weve grown close. We live very close to each other. Weve been joking that our Apartment Building feels like more like one house rather than individual apartments. Everyones door is open. Weve really been holding each other up.
