>> laura: the real frauds are the focus of tonight's angle. now you may have heard that there is a legal case playing out in new york involving the gop presidential front-runner. the real fraud doesn't involve overvaluing asset, the real fraud is what we witness from new york officials in the courthouse today. right off the bat, the judge, democrat arthur engoron allowed cameras in the room long enough for them to catch his beaming smile. it was weird. the fraudulent display continued when leticia james tried to publicly cleanse herself of the appearance of bias. >> no one is above the law, it is my duty to enforce it. >> laura: what we're seeing occur in realtime is rampant abuse of authority to advance a political vendetta. this was evident in 2018. >> laura: the real point here is if a trial like this is allowed to proceed, who will defend people against the likes of her? she's a partisan hack trying to compensate for her lack of talent with an abundance of vit riol. this entire trial is a fraud because to ms. james trump is a stepping stone from obscurity to ag and if gets a kwksz from the ag to the -- it wouldn't have helped her professionally, yet she thinks the rest of us are as stupid as she is and she tries her best elliot ness impersonation. >> committed fraud, justice will prevail. >> laura: of course justice is whatever the far left demands, she doesn't just want judge engoron to find him guilty of fraud, they want to drive donald trump and business out of new york completely. think about that. they want to force him to sell his real estate holding. in real estate, this is equivalent of putting someone in stock. trump called out fraud within state, federal and judicial system. >> the crime is against me because we have a corrupt district attorney, we have a corrupt attorney general and it all comes down from the doj, totally coordinated this in washington because i'm the leading candidate. >> laura: timing of the trial speaks to the real goal here, to keep trump off the campaign trail. >> sitting in the courthouse all day long instead of being in iowa, new hampshire, south carolina or other places i could be at. this is a horrible situation for our country, never happened before, this is election interference of 2024 and people of the country see it. >> laura: we'll examine the legal weakness in moment along with the 250 million fine being sought. the ongoing damage being done to credibility of our legal system cannot be understated, they are too busy salivating as their death by 1000 cuts way of defeating trump in 2024. >> precedented spectacle in new york today. it is easy to see why donald trump is so unhappy about this trial in addition to embarrassment, it hits at the core of the very identity that he has built up. he looks weak, whiney, sulking and pouting his way around court. >> laura: what selfish, silly people. what we're seeing is sdruksz of many people's faith in the system. this case is not about donald trump, this is about who gets to make big decisions for america and that shows that today and everyday for democrats, plutocratic donors and wholly owned media, democracien moos rule by unelected bureaucrats who agree with democrats. if you are republican, like mitt romney, who is generally comfortable and you run for president, they will attack you as a bad person and do whatever to beat you, they won't try to destroy you or your family. if you try to take real power away from bureaucrat, they will try to destroy your life and put you in jail and they'll keep doing it until they are beaten so badly they have no choice but to back down. hope for the country that happens in 2024. that is the angle. joining me now is mollie hemingway and david schoen. what do the people need to understand in layman terms about how lame this is and how dangerous this is? >> let's me focus on the danger of it. you hit the nail on the head with that and the word ecosystem. brought under 6312, giving the attorney general a partisan elected official, in this case, extremely partisan, incredibly broad power to ruin a life, ruin a career, etcetera. then the case is assigned to a trump-hating judge, politically elected and if you read a news article that appeared this weekend, he hassan tip athy against real estate. the judge no one asked for a jury trial, that is disingenuous, it is true, president trump's lawyers could have asked for a jury trial. there is case in 2011 that said under this executive law, 6312, there was no right to a jury because it is asking for injuncturive relief, not damaging. they are talking about stripping donald trump of hundreds of millions, taking away his international brand. today it seems the judge got a glimpse of what is going on here. you are right, it is dangerous. >> laura: appearance of corruption in this entire proceeding. mollie, last night on "60 minutes," attorney general garland denied there is any or a whiff of bias in prosecution. watch. we do not have one rule for republican and democrats, we don't have one rule for foes and another for friends. we have one rule and that one rule, we follow the facts and the law and reach decision required by constitution and protect civil liberties. >> mollie: this was propaganda aired last night. merrick garland is participating in democrat campaign strategy of indicting trump in the hope to get quick convictions and interfere in the election. that is objectively true. they are participating in this campaign strategy. he said they don't have one group for one and another for the other. look at hillary clinton, secretary of state, mishandled classified information, they came up with of noel legal standard to let her off the hook and go after president trump on -- >> laura: or hunter biden, they are trying to deny it is his laptop. >> mollie: same time the sitting president has issues here, it is not, it is so absurd to say there is not two standards when we are living this every single day and he should not be allowed to have a flippant response. >> laura: "60 minutes" was for the doj. >> mollie: people have lost confidence in our doj. the fact donald trump is doing well in the republican primary and head-to-head match ups against joe biden show the american people do not view this as legitimate. >> laura: that is the damage fauci did to public health in our country and everything we heard about the pandemic, that was called into question and now doing the same thing with the doj. mueller's former buddy wiseman doesn't feel they have a case. listen to this. >> the trial is over, the judge already ruled on the first claims against donald trump and his sons and businesses. he's already lost with huge financial consequences that this judge imposed. >> laura: you can sense the glee coming from thattoduous creature's voice. >> i don't credit anything andrew weisman says. the judge lost all credibility when he said mar-a-lago should have been valued at 18 million, he left out a few zeros. not a person on the face of this earth would think mar-a-lago was valued at 18 million, that is one example. back to timing, you mentioned in your opening monologue, that proved the point about this agenda going on here. donald trump built his brand around the world, it is not coincidental this is brought during election season temperature is intentional and we see all rules suspended. there is case law that says a prosecutor can't speak this way to influence the public. attorney general james and district attorney in new york have gotten away with anything they want to say and then they scream bloody murder and want a gag order and put out speaking indictments. >> laura: trump can't speak, but they never shut their mouths, staggering. >> mollie: based on the belief that donald trump needs to have his own income of all the different people in his family destroyed because they politically disagree with him thachl is not american. >> laura: he doesn't deserve a company or address in new york, they want to drive him out of new york city and bankruptcy and put him in jail so he can't become president. this is crazy land. i think people are on to this. fox news alert, fantastic news, nine-year-old charlotte sena has been found alive. molly line is live with the details. >> laura, the best possible news at this point in time, 48 hours into the investigation, word from the new york city police that sena has been located and in good health. they have an active suspect custody. i have word that her family is on the way to >> it could be. and certainly had hasn't hurt him in the republican primary. now, i think democrats think in the general election it will be a different matter and they will be running ads but, again, we will see how that all plays out. so far and there were people in the democratic party who were warning against this. they saw this coming. that trump has broken every political rule. every political convention thus far. >> laura: r.f.k. getting in the race can run as an independent, could that cut both ways hurt and help trump?
