we have lee carter coming up. but, right now, who does an actual news reporter, who is she going to be talking about? >> ainsley: let's ask alexis mcadams is live there in milwaukee and she is going to break it all down for us. >> good morning. brian kilmeade doesn't sleep. i have heard that before. i just saw him in the spin room talking to the candidates. there were a lot of fiery exchanges out there on the debate stage. we will get to those in a few minutes. really, voters wanted to hear what these candidates were going to do differently for america. they got to hear a little about abortion, economy, some people had some standout moments. during those fiery exchanges most of the candidates on the stage did talk about vivek ramaswamy saying he doesn't have really any experience out there in the political world. that's where ramaswamy prides himself on, listen. >> now is not the time for on the job training. we don't need to bring in a rookie. the last person in one of these debates, bret, what's a skinny guy with an odd last name doing up here was barack obama. and i'm afraid we are dealing with the same type of amateur standing on the stage tonight. >> give me a hug just like you did to obama. ukraine is not a priority for the united states of america. >> the problem that vivek doesn't understand is he wants to hand ukraine to russia. he wants to let china eat taiwan. he wants to make america less safe. you have no foreign policy experience, and it shows. >> well, vivek was slammed, as you guys heard there he also got so much time responding on stage because every time his name was mentioned he got to speak yet again. the candidates talked about economy, hot topic for voters who say they are paying more for everything. >> must reverse bidenomics so that middle class families have a chance at succeeding. we cannot succeed as a country. if you are working hard and you can't afford groceries, a car, or a new home. we also cannot succeed when the congress spends trillions and trillions of dollars, those rich men north of richmond have put us in this situation. >> but nikki haley pushed back saying it's production' fault, not joe biden's. >> the truth is that biden didn't do this to us. our republicans did this to us, too. when they passed that $2.2 trillion covid stimulus bill, they left us with 90 million people on medicaid, 42 million people on food stamps. no one has told you how to fix it. i will tell you how to fix it. they need to stop the spending. i think it's time for an accountant in the white house. >> a conversation about abortion, rather, took center stage in milwaukee, wink. all the candidates up there identified as pro-life but differed on that federal ban. >> and can't we all agree that we are not going to put a woman in jail or give her the death penalty if she gets an abortion? we need to stop demonizing this issue. >> immigration, a main issue for voters across the country. candidates weighed in on their border policies. >> most pressing need of the american people from a national security standpoint is our southern border. as the next president of the united states, i will make that border wall complete. >> so, former president trump was not at the debate and was not a main focus of the night wasn't mentioned until about an hour in. asa hutchison and chris christie were booed when they said they wouldn't back him to be the nominee if he is charged. >> bret: if former president trump is convicted in a court of law, would you still support him as your party's choice? please raise your hand if you would. [cheers] >> and on january 6th the candidates reflecting and reacting to mike pence. >> do you believe that mike pence did the right thing on january 6th? >> here what happens we need to do. we need to end the weaponization of these federal agencies. >> vice president pence what do you think. >> support and defend the constitution of the united states. i think -- i think the american people deserve to know whether everyone on this stage agrees that i kept my oath to the constitution that day. >> mike did his duty. i got no beef with him. here's the thing. is this what we are going to be focusing on? >> vivek ramaswamy was the only candidate who said he could not support more funding for ukraine. >> is there anyone on stage who would not support the increase of more funding to ukraine? >> i would not support. >> but ramaswamy did get a lot of for stance. >> part of the problem we also have a federal government that pays single women more not to have a man in the house than to have a man in the house, contributing to an epidemic of fatherlessness. and i think that goes hand in glove with the education crisis as well because we have to remember education starts with the family and the nuclear family with the greatest form of governance known to mankind. >> governor doug burgum wasn't sure if he was going to be able to show up to the debate because he was hurt playing pickup game of basketball in wisconsin. he had to go to the er. last minute decision he did turn up with a torn tendon. >> they said go to milwaukee and break a leg. [laughter] and so those were just some of the highlights, which i know you guys will get to all of the rest. measures waking up this morning really just trying to figure out who they thought was the best candidate. who was personable on the stage and connect with everyone and talked about the issues everyone care about here. we know brian is going to be here throughout the morning talking with lots of people including governor ron desantis and doug burgum and ronna mcdaniels. we will see what they had to say about the debate. send it back to you. >> brian: thank so much. we watched governor burgum come right through. he seems to be walking fine with only one achilles. pretty amazing. he tore it. they said don't walk or stand on it. he says i have got to do both and he left. that was the advice he got from the bucks' team trainer who they were able to get yesterday. meanwhile the west best thing at the debate jabs. trump was attacked the most with six. ramaswamy tied him with six. foreperson areas where nikki haley was ready a tack because the foreign policy put out there by vivek ramaswamy, let's just say, this rather unique. listen to this exchange between the two and for me, nikki haley is on the right side of this one in every sense of the word. watch. >> a win for russia is a win for china. we have to know that. ukraine is the first line of defense for us and the problem that vivek doesn't understand is he wants to hand ukraine to russia. he wants to let china eat taiwan. he wants to go and stop funding israel. you don't do that to friends. what you do is instead you have the backs of your friends. ukraine is the frontline of defense. putin has said if russia -- once russia takes ukraine, poland and the baltics are next. that's a world war. we are trying to prevent war. look at what putin did today. he killed prigozhin. when i was at the u.n. the russian ambassador suddenly died. this guy is a murderer. you are choosing a murderer over a. >> i wish you well on the boards of raytheon. >> have you knocked down everybody on this stage but you know what? you want to go and defund israel. you want to give taiwan to china. you want to go and give u.k. to russia. you will make america less safe. you have no foreign policy experience and it shows. it shows. >> the foreign policy experience that -- >> brian: yeah. i mean, vivek knows there is a part of the republican party that wants nothing to do with doing anything except for, maybe, to a degree, confronting china unless it has anything to do with defending taiwan. nikki haley couldn't wait to defend her position. we will see where the american people stand. i also thought it was interesting, too, that she was called out by mike pence too on the foreign policy area. steve, where the american people fall on this, i think donald trump agrees more with vivek ramaswamy than he does with his former u.n. ambassador. so we will see. i'm sure he will use his truth social to weigh in. >> steve: you never know. you know, the good thing about last night, without donald trump there, we could actually hear all of those eight candidates talk about policies for the most part. we saw a lot of policy difference. so people can make up their mind. nikki haley, who we did a -- kind of an informal survey here in the studio, and i talked to some of my friends last night, and they said they felt that she ran away with the show. vivek ramaswamy, you know, there is a lot of buzz about him because a lot of people saw him for the very first time last night. they're going who is that guy? i think he had the most google severance yesterday. he is the youngest guy. had a lot of energy. he came in hot. and probably came in a little too hot. the "wall street journal" this morning says he sounded like a young man in too much of a hurry. and essentially what he is doing is he is running to be donald trump's biggest defender. and he did hack off, it seems like, the entire da dais last nt in milwaukee. we have essentially the zinger of the night yes, ainsley? >> ainsley: sorry. i want to say one thing. >> steve: she is pointing, yes, ma'am. >> ainsley: just raising my hand before we get off this topic about foreign policy because i was glad nikki haley hammered him on it. because a lot of people really like venk. is he a billionaire. he seems -- you know, he sounds cute, working out with his wife. they are very impressive. he has these two beautiful children. he says we have been running for something. he we need to run towards something now, the american vision, he had some good lines and he is brilliant you know he is a billionaire. his foreign policy a lot of people nikki haley said false, false, false. i wanted to hear his rebuttal. i wasn't impressed with it. it was not satisfactory. he said basically i like what israel does at its border. we should do the same thing and i like israel's iron dome. but that didn't answer the question. you want to defund? you don't want us to give money to israel and the taiwan, he didn't address taiwan. he really wants to give china taiwan and then not give any funding at all to ukraine and allow putin to invade and possibly continue on into poland and the baltics like nikki haley said. >> steve: do you know what? to my point, that was so great to have all of the 8 candidates there because you could clearly hear their policy position positions. his policy position is something that makes a lot of americans uncomfortable. going in, to the debate last night. we were talking about okay. i wonder who is going to have the biggest zinger of the night. alexis just played that soundbite with governor burgum who brian is going to sit down with in a minute at the pancake house. i thought his comment about break a leg was very funny. i didn't see this one coming. chris christie had had it up to here with vivek ramaswamy as it appears most the people on the stage had last night. and this is probably the zinger of the night. and it started with vivek insulting everybody else. watch. >> i'm the only person on the staining who isn't bought and paid for so i can say this. the climate change agenda. >> whoa, whoa, whoa. >> the climate change agenda is a hoax. and we have to declare and the reality is anti-carbon agenda is the wet blanket on our economy. so the reality is more people are dying of bad climate change policies than they are of actual climate change. >> bret: governor, listen, listen. >> no. i've had enough. i've had enough already tonight of a guy who sounds like chatgpt stand up here -- and the last person in one of these debates, bret, who stood in the middle of the stable and said what's a skinny guy with an odd last name doing up here was barack obama and i'm afraid we're dealing with the same type of amateur tonight. >> come over and give me a hug. give me a hug just like you did to obama. >> same kind of amateur. >> and help elect me like you did obama. >> steve: chatgpt. and it started with the question about climate change which ramaswamy said is a hoax. nikki haley said she had a really good answer about climate change. she said it is real. and we need to force china and india to curb their emissions. >> ainsley: i loved that zinger. chris christie, not sure how he is resonating with the people because is he so anti-trump and the majority of the people like trump in the party. but, that zinger was really funny. >> steve: it was. >> ainsley: it was clever. did he come up with that before? did he plan to use that in some capacity. >> steve: call him a robot. to your point, you don't know how they resonated. drudge has a completely nonscientific poll up right now. the winner, number one, vivek. number two, nikki haley. number 3, chris christie. and number 4 ron desantis. >> ainsley: all right. that's interesting. but i liked vivek's response was very -- he was quick on his feet because he said really? you helped observe win when you gave him that hug in new jersey when he came up to help with sandy. so, they both. >> steve: i was in new jersey he didn't hug him but he had a big handshake. >> ainsley: he invited him and a lot of people were upset about that, brian. >> brian: yeah. that was a follow-up i did not here. hear. it was so loud. i thought he re-thought the ai candidate. i don't think he pre-thought said i have a strange last name and skinny guy. that just -- that is classic chris christie acting in real time. that's why i was shocked. unless he had something happen i didn't know for him not to come to the spin room because he does so well and he has all those cameras. i was really surprised. i wonder if it means something bigger than that but, ainsley, you want to set up something else, that is another area in which nikki haley was involved in. that's the abortion debate and, of course, mike pence as well. >> ainsley: yeah. i have a friend that spending the night with me. our girls are good friends. she came out to long island to stay with us for a few days. i was watching it with her. it's always fun to watch it someone who is not politically active like we are, because she had so many questions. she was watching you, brian, who are these people with the pence signs or the h haley science. that's how you know where hale is and pence is in the spin room. brian will go over and put his front of the candidate. it was fun to be able to explain and this i realized people at home might not understand any of that the candidates all go into the spin room. not sure why christie didn't. i thought the winning moment last night for nikki haley, look, you are might be pro-life. but republicans are going to have to -- if you look at midterms, who lost? the ones who said absolutely no exceptions to abortion. we do not allow them. they are the ones that lost. so, it makes you step back and look, do republicans need to change their stance on this of? do they need to be more open about this? maybe have more parameters. you can't go after 15 weeks? you can't go after the child feels pain. you can't go up until 40 weeks. i don't know what the answer is but maybe republicans need to look at this so that they have more of a winning message because democrats are winning on this issue when it comes to women. and donald trump has a problem with women. so this could be an area where republicans could really focus. nikki haley said let's be honest, we don't even have the votes to ban abortion. listen do. this. >> i am unapologetically pro-life. not because the republican party tells me to be. [applause] but because my husband was adopted, and i had trouble having both of my children. so i'm surrounded by blessings. having said that, we need to stop demonizing this issue. be honest with the american people. >> i am being honest. >> 45 employee life senators in over 100 years years. so no republican president can ban abortions any more than a democrat president can ban all those state laws. don't make women feel like they have to decide on this issue when you know we don't have 60 senate votes in the house. >> 70% of the american people support legislation to ban abortion after a baby is capable of experiencing pain. >> ainsley: brian? >> brian: and that will be 15 weeks. senator lindsey graham brought that up. should you go back to federal legislation when you just worked so hard to kick it to the states? it nikki haley was looking to engaged not a democrat but a pro-life republican who she served with in the cabinet. meanwhile, ainsley, you were mentioning working the spin room yesterday. that's what i did. here's how the candidates sounded after leaving two hours on live television in front of millions of people on the stage. watch. >> this is now "fox & friends." good morning, everybody. hope you had your morning coffee and wake up every morning with "fox & friends." that's with steve and ainsley and brian here who is at the debate. >> the first g.o.p. debate is in the books. it has concluded. two hours, a lot of fireworks, a lot of points of view. a lot of biographies. now it's time to check out how all sides feel how they did right here in the spin room. ♪ the scrum was with nikki haley. how did you do? >> i think, great in terms of explaining why i'm different from everyone on that stage who is a neocon. i think that the differences i felt like at times i was on stage with joe biden and liz cheney when, in fact, within the republican primary. i think that kind of debate is great. we are just getting warmed up. one of the things i have learned about politics is a lot of professional politicians they will say anything to be able to make their point even if it's outright false. my focus tonight wasn't on attacking other candidates. a little different than some of the other candidates on that stage. it was delivering my message. i think we succeeded at a scale i'm pretty happy with. >> were you flattered to be attacked. >> yes i was. i think it was great badge of honor. one has been a former vice president much the united states. another u.n. ambassador. another a different governor much a different state. all coming for a 38-year-old guy a political newcomer who is the first time on a debate stage. so i do think it was actually pretty flattering a great experience. >> when chris christie went after you and said another guy on the stage had a funny name with skinny arms and he equated you to president obama. what are your thoughts. >> my thoughts was chris christie is the guy who gave barack obama the hug that escalated barack obama to the credibility to win a general election which i think was wrong. but, you know what? chris christie, i think, like much of the establishment, does -- you saw it today. felt threatened by my friends. i'm the outsider in the race. i think that a lot of professional politicians had a sort of anaphylactic response to that. and the reality is we do need an outsider in the white house. i think the choice we face is do you want a super pac puppet. this is the super pac primary. the amount of money being spent via super pacs to put up slogans vs. independent patriot who speaks the truth that's, i think, the contrast in this primary. a lot of those professional politicians that have been preparing their entire life for this moment do feel threatened by my presence on that stage. i want to say they are good people. i'm going to need them in different roles, but i will be the one leading from the white house after i deliver a landslide in the general. >> brian: you have to feel good about your performance tonight. what was your mindset going in and at what point did you say to yourself this feels good? >> my mindset is how do we go and address the american people and talk to them about the truth of the issues and what do we need to do to move america forward? we have serious issues, whether it's on the economy the fact that republicans and democrats both got us in this situation, the lack of transparency in the classroom. crime all-time high and open lawless border. national security is going to be a huge issue for the next president. we need a foreign policy approach not just four years vision for the decade to keep americans safe. >> brian: when you say most popular politician is donald trump a guy you said is your friend. >> we have to face the fact that trump is the most disliked politician in america. we can't win a general election that way. >> brian: what went into that statement? >> it's true. it's true. you can look at any of the polls. he is my friend. it was an honor to serve with him. i agree with most of his policies. buff he is going to spend more time in a courtroom next year than he is campaigning. we have to be realistic about that. do i want to clean up weaponization in department of justice in the intelligence agencies? you bet. is he going to be the reason we are going to do it? absolutely. but, at the end of the day, we have to beat president kamala harris. it is too dangerous to think about what happens if she wins. and we can't have a former president sitting in a courtroom campaigning from there. it's not going to work. >> brian: how is he winning by so much? >> well, i mean right now this is the kickoff of the campaign season. the first debate gets things going. and then we will go into the next few months. we got to debate every month. this is where people can see their opportunities. i wish he would have been on the stage. i think it would have been good for him to be on the stage so he could have answered some of the questions but he wasn't. we have to go forward. we have a country to save. >> >> brian: did you miss trump on the stage. >> i think it was a missed opportunity for president trump not to be here. republican voters deserve to hear from every candidate and i hope he shows up in california. >> brian: it's important for feel judge you, it's important to judge yourself. the most important vote is your wife. how did he do? >> he's got my vote. >> brian: kind of cool guy walking behind you name on it in the spin room did. you ever think you would have that. >> it's very humbling to me. >> brian: holding the sign you keep it lower. other people keeping it higher. what did they tell you? >> they didn't tell me anything. i keep asking is it in the way? what should i do? >> brian: grade yourself? >> i won't do that because it's my first time and i think i will leave that to all the professionals to give us a grade. but i would say top grade for someone who is standing on one leg. >> steve: good line. >> brian: right. literally he is standing on one leg. they said that it is totally cut. his achilles tendon is totally cut. shishribbled at his heel. bret if he can't stand can he sit he said no. they're all standing. it would have been interesting. >> ainsley: i was thinking about that when we played the ronald reagan debate yesterday. i was wondering are they going to stand behind podiums or sit down. it is fun to watch them sit. >> steve: that's one of the requirements. i heard -- brian, talk to the governor here in a minute. apparently they made a provision if you want to, governor, because you have the torn achilles, can you sit down during the commercial break. i don't think he did. you could see he was walking around. speaking of walking around, brian, you have people behind you. walk around and talk to about the big show last night. >> keep in mind, locally, it's 5:25. these people are dedicated. they have a big day ahead of them they all stayed up until about 11:00 eastern. what's your name. >> jason. >> what was your thoughts. >> vivek responded well to the attacks. he performed beyond exception. >> brian: you chose, you don't want to be on camera, actually she liked vivek too. is it safe to say that. voice off camera liked vivek. what's your name? >> well, i think, brian, i love the fact you have a sports background first time on the debate best national debate i have ever done standing on one leg. no excuse there i think you start out as the rook i couldn't come in and say hey, they might actually be following the rules. after i spoke less than one minute. >> brian: got out in a minute. >> i got one minute in the first 30. we won the fourth quarter in talking about our energy, economy, national security. these are things that touch every american. >> brian: do you know what's interesting you are pro-life and signed a six week ban in north dakota. you understand the rest of the country doesn't necessarily agree with you. also understand it's one of the hottest issues in 2022 and likely in '24. here's how you handled it last night. >> we should not have a federal abortion ban. we should not. the reason why we shouldn't is very simple. it's the tenth amendment. in the constitution. in the constitution, which the states created the federal government, not the other way around, it says that there were certain duties allowed to the federal government delegated to them by the states. the rest are left to the states, comma, or importantly to the people. >> brian: so you understand where the country is. how do you feel about people on the pro-life movement thinking that's not good, that you should go for a federal ban? >> well, i think, again, for me it's the constitution. because it's -- we had 60 senators we could pass this and put our policies on all the states. what happens if a democrats have 60 senators and all of a sudden they do it. i'm sure every republican would be back going no, no. it's tenth amendment. power to the states. the constitution is the constitution. and we need to make sure this has been -- we spent 50 years giving this back to the states. it's at the states right now. it should stay there the states are sorting it out. that's where it should stay. >> brian: you want to be on the stage in the fox business debate in september. criteria goes up. and what is it now and what's going to change how closely you are qualifying for this next debate? >> we crossed every hurdle except one last poll know going to be there in september looking forward to it. >> brian: you now need 2% in the poll. >> i think it's 3. >> brian: you need how many donors. >> 50,000. we're already passed 50 threshold iowa and new hampshire. the threshold the two states where we actually launched our campaign. we have been at that or well above that we needed one national poll. >> brian: what do your accounts look like when you went online are you getting donations after last night's performance. >> it's only been a couple hours since i went to bed. we have a great crew of supporters that came in from all over the country here from chicago. i met them after i got done with the spin room last night. so i haven't checked anything this morning. i know that for us. we are the least well-known person on that stage going into this thing. for us to be able to talk about biden is going 180 degrees in the wrong direction on the economy, energy and national security. people are getting to know us. that's a good thing. >> brian: whether you getting your achilles fixed? [cheers and applause] >> steve: we always say the key is look at the gold one, the yellow one and the independents like that a lot. >> they sure did. republicans an a. independents a b. democrats an f. here's what came behind this, right? this is one of the lines of the night. a lot of people said they were disappointed in desantis. they expected to hear more from him last night and original thinking. in this moment a lot of people questioned his authenticity. i like what you are saying but aren't you one of those rich guys from the north of virginia even though i know he was from florida. i'm not sure that you are not one of those -- some of those guys. >> steve: i think the second richest guy on the stage behind the governor was vivek ramaswamy. here he is, once again, warrant yellow line because that's the independents. they are the ones who elect a president. here is he talking about the american dream. >> i'm an entrepreneur. my parents came to this country with no money 40 years ago. i have gone on to found multi billion dollars companies. i did it while marrying my wife and raising our son two sons. following our faith in god. that is the american dream. and i amgen winly worried that that american dream will not exist for our two sons and their generation unless we do something about it. and i do think, bret, it's going to take an outsider. because, for a long time we have professional politicians in the republican party who have been running from something. now is our moment to start running to something. to our vision of what it means to be an american today. >> steve: lee? >> you can see the republicans really liked him gave him an a over all. independents a b. democrats a d. his night is very, very interesting to me. he had some really big moments. he alienated a lot of independents throughout the night and really turned off democrats. that's going to be a problem for him. again, this is a republican primary. this actually might have helped him last night. some of the moments really did repel independents in particular. >> steve: why? >> there was a lot of commentary saying he seemed arrogant. people didn't like the answers he had on climate change. the interaction he had with nikki haley actually came across as not so positive for him. and i think there was some people who are saying he was kind of like that kid i went to high school with who i didn't like so much. >> steve: oh my goodness. all right. post game show. kind of analysis we're looking for. >> yeah. >> steve: talking in the green room. you said it seemed like the number one person who finished with the independent voters you talked to nikki haley. here she is channeling somebody really famous. >> this is exactly why margaret thatcher said if you want something said ask a man. if you want something done, ask a woman. [cheers] >> first of all, we do care about clean air, clean water. we want to see that taken care of. but there's a right way to do it. and the right way to do it is, first of all, yes, is climate change real? yes, it is. if you want to go and really change the environment, then we need to start telling china and india that they have to lower their emissions. that's where our problem is and these green subsidies that biden has put in, all he has done is helped china. >> steve: so democrats gave her a b? >> democrats gave her a b. some answers they gave her an a. she had an outstanding night last night across the board. republicans gave her an a. independents a b and democrats a b. many said she was the sleeper candidate that she had an amazing night last night. really, really great answers and some very tough issues. this was one. another standout moment was her answer on abortion. people really are going to be giving her a second look. >> steve: okay. you know, it's early. it's still five months before anybody votes. but, when you look at your many independent responses took part in your poll last night. who would you say the top three favorites with independents are. >> with independents i would say coming out of last night, if that was the only data point i had to look at, i would say that nikki haley is on top. >> chris christie had a very very good night. and i think, even though vivek was very, very polarizing he is going to get a lot of attention and depending what people saw of him they are either going to love him or hate him. is he probably going to continue to have a little bit of momentum. >> steve: something you have done this time you haven't done in the past you are tracking the none of the above voters, right? >> that's right. none of the above voters are the people in the polls that you hear about okay, it's 42, 44 biden, trump. and it's like what about the other 16%? those 16% who say they want nobody else? >> well, it might be a good idea to have everybody in washington, d.c. pass a mental -- [laughter] >> ainsley: what's he referring to, carley? >> carley: thank goodness for this moment. he was very serious during the debate. uncharacteristic attack dog considering is he usually such a nice man. he was, you know, all fire last night. but he did elicit some laughter there, i think it's nikki haley pushing mental acuity test the most and serious answer was let the voters decide but that was a funny way to start things off. >> ainsley: talking about biden and also other people in washington too that he disagrees with. chris christie got the ufo question and watch his response. pretty funny, too. >> christie, do you believe that the recent spike in ufo encounters. [laughter] >> i got the ufo question? >> martha: yeah, you do. >> come on, man. and especially coming from a woman from new jersey. i think it's horrible that just because i'm from new jersey you ask me about unidentified flying objects and martians. we are different but we're not that different. >> carley: this moment made me actually laugh out loud. people talk about authenticity a lot. maybe a little bit too much. this is an example of it he didn't know he was going to get a ufo question. lightning round of questions where tim scott got one on religion. they were talking about mental acuity. and then it was ufos. he is like come on, martha. new jersey does take a lot of criticism for being new jersey. can i say that because i'm from there that's what he meant by that as well. >> ainsley: i thought it was pretty funny just saying what we were all thinking no one wants the ufo question. >> carley: it's a good one. it's on people's minds i understand why it was asked. >> ainsley: he pivoted to another topic quickly. tim scott addressed transgenders playing women's sports. watch. this i had a good fortune of a mom who worked 16 hour days making sure we had food on our tables. she taught me if you are able-boyd deed in america, you work. if you take out a loan, you pay it back you commit a violent crime, you go to jail. and if god made you man you play sports against men. it was during closing statements he left people with that an issue everybody is talking about right now. if that's your stance, that's something that you are going to want to say that's a quick response that landed. >> ainsley: great way to talk about his story, his mom and upbringing and finish it off with that. >> ainsley: a little lefty as well. >> ainsley: most googled names after the debate, carley this is a list where you definitely want to be number on within nikki haley, followed by donald trump and then ron desantis and doug burgum according to google trends you want to be number one that means that you piqued people's interest. maybe some people didn't know how were and then going i want to learn a little bit more about him. that's how vivek ramaswamy started his debate you may not know who i am but this is my story and people were interested enough to look up more information about him. >> ainsley: i noticed a lot of them were mispronouncing his name and he has been on our show a bunch he says it's vivek rhymes with cake i used to say ramaswamy. it's rama-swami. >> it's kamala. she corrected us. >> carley: i do have to say donald trump is always, always number one on these google trends lists, even when it was democratic debates that he wasn't a part of. this is the first time that i have seen him in the third place position. >> ainsley: who spoke the most? >> carley: i think this is so interesting and mike pence spoke the most. he had 12:37 of talk time. there were a couple times where did he not abide by the 30 second rule and went a little bit over that's probably why vivek ramaswamy got the second place 11 minutes and 47 seconds. chris christie. then ron desantis who i would have zoomed spoken the most. and then nikki haley, tim scott, doug burgum and asa hutchinson. >> ainsley: always interesting to see who shines in the second debate. what did they learn from the first debate that will be fun. that's coming up on fox business who was attacked the most? this debate could have gone one of three ways would the candidates attack bind or trump or each other. it turns out that movies the candidates obviously went after biden the most followed by trump and then vivek ramaswamy came in third. once again everybody thought it was going to be ron desantis. vivek too long took a lot of incoming fire last night. >> >> ainsley: what topic was talked about the most? >> ainsley: abortion followed by donald trump and credentials. credentials means are you the right person for the job and education and border security. >> ainsley: interesting. >> carley: that's how it all wrapped up. >> ainsley: what a night team. second hour of "fox & friends" starts right now. ♪ ♪ >> i will not let you down. who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name and what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage. >> i think it's time for accountant in the white house. >> i was a house conservative leader before it was cool. >> america can do for anyone what she has done for me. >> i'm from a town of 300 people. it's a big deal to make it on this stage. >> the job of the president of the united states is to stand for truth. >> i'll bring out the best of america. >> it is time for a new generational conservative leader. >> american people will have a champion for life in the oval office. >> we're in the middle of a national identity crisis. >> this country could use somebody in the white house that understands small town values. >> i will never let the deep state bureau democrats lock you down. >> margaret that
