president's economic vision for the country and reality so many americans are facing. president biden has been on the road this week busy promoting his bidenomics agenda ahead of the 2024 election and marking one-year anniversary of the so-called inflation induction act, which didn't reduce inflation. >> president biden: they call my plan bidenomics, but guess what, it's working? >> kayleigh: new fox news polling shows voters aren't buying what the president is selling. 70% are dissatisfied with how things are going, that could be a problem for the president as voters say the economy is the top issue by a wide margin. also alarming, just 25% of voters say his policies have made the economy better. 52% say he's made it worse. it should come as no surprise that the president is getting low marks for his job performance, just 42% of voters approve of the job he is doing, 58 disapprove. bidenomics clearly not being sold to the american people who say we reject this. take a look at what the administration and democrats are on the airwaves telling us about the economy. >> our economy is doing so well and in good part because of the work we in the senate and the president did over the last summer. >> this is a president who spent the last two years turning the economy around. you hear us talking about bidenomics, you mentioned this west coast swing, talking to the american people about how wages are going up, how inflation is going down over a long extended period of time, more than 12 months. >> in polls, half americans do not feel the economy is going well, what do you attribute that to? >> people are hesitant to accept when they see progress on the horizon. >> kayleigh: people are not accepting it, pop up this other fox poll, grocery prices, 87% say a problem, gas prices, 85%, utility cost 81%. >> dagen: i will not go through the price increases under joe biden because people know that. the inflation rate has eased a guilty bit, but prices don't come down and have not come down. and this is a combination of pathological liars and sadists, because they have intentionally inflicted this pain on the american people. i call it the economic vice of bidenomics, because on one side, it is inflation. then on the other side, it is now interest rates and they, all of those people, chatter boxes on tv put working americans in that vice and joe biden and his cronies are screwing it and screwing it and tightening it and tightening it on the american people. inflation is going to get people because of gasoline and food prices and interest rates, mortgage rates are the highest in 20 years, more than 7% as of yesterday. buyers are locked out. people ran up credit cards because they couldn't cope with inflation, the average credit card rate is about 25%, that is bidenomics. the fact that they are lecturing americans as if they don't understand what is going on is really disgusting. >> kayleigh: yeah, and harkening back to 2016, a gallup poll, 57% said the economy was getting worse. >> kennedy: it was and then it got better, the earlier part of president trump's term was actually quite a boom for many, many working americans and they were starting to see wage increases. this of course, before the pandemic. jen psaki is just in disbelief that the poll numbers are so low and the economy, economic poll numbers are dragging the president's overall rating down. that is because to dagen's point, people see this everyday, they know they can't afford things and were told if the fed kept raising rates, the economy would get better, but they owe more money than they did before, they will not be able to pay the balance on their credit card and people will start defaulting and credit card scores will start going down and hope of being a homeowner for the first time evaporates with it. that could crater based on numbers they are seeing now. people don't feel that and that is what they respond to when asked how the economy is going and how they feel about the direction of the country, they see it in the toilet because they are hurting. >> kayleigh: polls are reflection of people and people spoke in a focus group that politico described this way. eight men of color who voted for joe biden in 2020 were asked their opinion, discouraged one said, pathetic, dissatis faction didn't end there. we keep sending money to ukraine and other countries, what about helping ourselves, that is how voters feel. >> jeremy: i love this is coming to light and people are seeing what is going on, biden thinks the american people will forget what has been going on last four years and forget how they aren't able to afford a home or how wages suffer and we aren't able to afford basic necessities. taking a big bet that people are not paying attention, but they are. it is especially true, loob at focus group and black men, he is hoping the black vote can take for granted that black folk are not paying attention, they will take what i give them. people are paying attention, you have to respect voters and listen. the idea you're going to double down on disaster for the economy, is absurd. >> kayleigh: he won 92% of black voters and not looking like he will this time around. the,a achillese heel, biden hopes optimism contrasts with trump. he will not talk about indictment, he will paint rosey picture of the economy while republicans are enmeshed in distraction. >> dr. nesheiwat: i took a look at bidenomics to see what was in it, my takeaway, higher taxes, especially on wealthy and corporations and massive spending when it comes to climate change and they want to dump more money into covid. hello, i've had three or four cases of covid this week, they are spending recklessly, it is no surprise poll numbers are tanking. our economy is flailing, on average about maybe $20 is what average american has in their pocket after bills are paid, that is almost nothing. how do you live like that? >> kennedy: how do you afford an emergency. >> dr. nesheiwat: exactly, it is difficult and we see credit card rateses going up. 30% of students cannot read and loss of energy independence makes everything go up, gas, groceries, cost of healthcare, co-pays and premiums, we need major changes for sure. >> kayleigh: we do and average american paying $709 per month more, that is extraordinary. presidential candidate vivek ramaswamy is giving us peek at what foreign policy would look like on his watch and seeking inspiration from a former president, we'll tell you who. not joe biden, next. veteran homeowners. are you applying for a car loan? [applause] >> the north star of my foreign policy will be the modern monroe doctrine, combined with nixon's doctrine. nixon doctrine was that other nations have to be the first protectors of their own national security, i agree with that. we will revive that, not combine that with the modern monroe doctrine, a doctrine that we will reimmrement. if you are a foreign nation, you do not mess with the united states of america on our own home soil. you do not test us onnure on waters or in the western hemisphere and if you do, you will have hell to pay for it. >> kayleigh: jeremy, former president trump, his policy was america first, another key part but not america alone. prizing relationships with israel, democracy in middle east that ended with normalization of relationships with countries in the middle east and advancing america first. >> jeremy: right, i like vivek, great guy, adding young energy, he is no richard nixon. his foreign policy was very elementary, he had to basic foreign policy concepts. he is a successful tech bro, we don't want national security strategy dictated by chatgpt. the bottom line, we shouldn't be ceding taiwan to the ccp. almost impossible in five years to have our own semiconductors in the united states, that is fanciful and unrealistic. he wants to cut off aid to israel, you don't withdraw from the world and from ceding territory and telling our friends tough luck, we'll will not strengthen our allies that is not what made us a great country. there has been a time we tried vivek's style of foreign policy, that was in the 1930s and we saw how that ended up. >> kayleigh: to quote him, he believes he will be able to receive peace in the region and additional aid won't be necessary. here is what he said about taiwan, play that. >> rich men -- >> kayleigh: okay, that is coming up segment, a tease, here is taiwan. okay, we do not have taiwan. i have the quote, i come preparedic loo the press corps whose question i answered. line talking about china, it know means we will nothe fies somebody's else's war if they are not defending their own territory. that stuck out, no one wants to be in war in china. we have been critical of biden when he suggested we will fight to defend taiwan and white house has to clean up. neither tapei or beijing. >> dagen: to second what jeremy was saying and to your point, policies of what sound like vivek ramaswamy was trying to layout, get you into wars historically, rather than avoid them. talk about the nixon doctrine, that was related to vietnam. that was related to expecting asian allies to tend to military defense. when people think about nixon and that came across like a word casserole people would have trouble digesting, people think of nixon opening relations with china and landing on the ground and meeting for the first time with malsadon 51 years ago. and looking back, that could be seen, i think someone in the hill wrote last year looking history may well judge nixon's opening to china as one of the most colossal dismattic blunders in history. the enemy of my enemy is my friend. trying to offset communist russia at the time. look in terms of trade and also what china is trying to do to us and the world with rising power of russia, i don't really know if you want to follow in nixon's footsteps any way, shape or form. >> kayleigh: vivek's foreign policy will be popular with swath of republican voters. this was cnn, they were shocked to find this answer with the focus group. >> if you think the united states should be supporting ukraine in the fight against putin, raise your hand. nobody?
