[screaming] ] >> stop, stop, stop. >> laura: did she hesitate to shoot because she was worried about being prosecuted herself and the anti-cop atmosphere that swept the country? who knows, but you got to wonder. as far as new york, it is one big giant psyche ward, but where t the -- are armed. this is what police have to deal with regularly. this is a 31 -- old freak who side swiped cops after wielding a gun in the air and holding it to their head. >> got a gun. chill. >> yo. . drop it. drop the gun. drop the gun. >> yo, that's crazy. >> yo, that's crazy. that's crazy. >> laura: obviously the cops had to sideswipe her to get her to put the gun down. hannah correo toted that pistol in the middle of the intersection at north belmar at 2:20 p.m., during the day. according to nassau city police, he had an arrest and another arrest the next day for trespassing, you see it, revolving door of justice, so compassionate and things are upsides down in chicago. police supervisors are telling cops on the beat to avoid chasing criminals involved in organized street muggings. offenders drove away to commit more crimes. duh. law enforcement can't keep the peace or maintain order if they are handcuffed by politicians and the great charles murray notes it started -- homicide surged 30% in 2020. daily life in cities evoke menace and decay of new york city in the '70s and '80s and arrest for broken window offense had fallen by 74% in new york, 77% in washington and 81% in l.a. and collapse of broken window policing, broader retreat by law enforcement in all three cities for felonies, as well as misdemeanors. the definition of personal criminal paradise has to go to san francisco, right? the owner of the iconic 166-year-old gump's department store is trying to sound the alarm. >> you can't get around and in the street you step over needle and human waste and often bodies on the street. this is incompatible with successful business and if that is something businesses have to do to part, it is tragic, really tragic. >> laura: bottom line, democrats believe that any american who works hard and tries to build a better life for themselves and their family a facist, maybe a trump supporter. they prefer criminals because they believe in america, high crime rates are what we deserve at this point. for too many americans, that is what you are getting. if you live in one of the places where crime is out of control and seems to pay for most criminals, you have to hope the voters turn on the democrat party. until they do, this situation will continue to deteriorate and that's the angle. joining me now is retired police officer betsy smith. sergeant, good to see you. this idea of now not chasing criminals who are involved in attacks on just innocent people walking down a sidewalk in frankly large groups of thugs at one time, that has been going on in chicago, i understand now for sometime now. >> well, it absolutely has and mayor brandon johnson, the guy you thought couldn't be worse than lori lightfoot got upset with the media because the media called teen takeovers groups of mobs. it is incredible, for the last three years, the american law enforcement officer has been vilified and demonized by politicians, by some in the media, activists, it has become a pro criminal justice system as opposed to a pro-victim and that is one of the many reasons why 9-10 police departments is short-handed. cops are fed up and they get out of the profession. >> laura: i've talked to so many police officers where i live and other parts of the country and done ride-alongs, you learn so much from the police, how difficult this job is. when you see that video of the middletown, connecticut, next door to where i grew up, wonderful place to grow up, you saw that police officer hesitate, didn't she? he came at her with a hammer and you have to believe something in the back of her mind said, if i shoot and i defend myself, i might be the next person on trial for some type of racial response. that is what i fear is happening all too often. >> laura, it absolutely is. i trained this -- i'm sorry, i travel this country and train police officers and that is what police officers tell us, they pull the gun and ask, am i within policy, will i go to prison, will i get arrested and be vilified and put my family through what so many police officer's families have been through. that gentlemen that attacked that police officer with a hammer, winston tate, he has conviction for dangerous weapon, interfering with police officers, attacking police officers, harassment, robbery, in the last through years and here he is causing problems and that officer showed up to deescalate the situation and she ended up getting injured and having to shoot him. >> laura: thank goodness she survived. sergeant smith, thank you so much. >> senator feinstein. >> say aye. >> pardon me? >> aye. just say it. >> i would like to support a yes vote on this. >> just say aye. >> aye. >> laura: you can see why there are concerns raised about dianne feinstein, it has been happening for years, now the senator is suing trustee of fund set up by her late husband accusing them of committing financial elder abuse by refusing to reimburse her for medical bills. the suit was filed by dianne feinstein's daughter who was given power of attorney over her mother's affairs in july. is a victim of potential elder abuse, financial or otherwise, who surrendered powers of her affairs to her daughter, someone who should be in the senate? mollie hemingway is with us, fox news contributor. in realtime, dianne feinstein, biden, others who shouldn't still be in the senate or position of real authority, but voters keep returning them to office. this looks like real elder abuse here. >> mollie: this is extreme situation of something we've seen in washington, d.c., average age of senators continues to sky rocket. this is situation where, as you note, her daughter has limited power of attorney over her, duties are not being fulfilled in way most want them to be. there are political machination in play with other people whol should not be in these positions, nobody wants to relinquish the power, nobody wants to let newsom appoint barbara lee or adam schiff, they are working to keep her in there, even though it is not in her best interest and the rest of the country gets to suffer. >> laura: senator dianne feinstein's chimed in. >> this whole story makes me sad, i don't think the dianne feinstein i knew would have brought a lawsuit just because others did it doesn't mean it is a good idea and this is doing real damage to her legacy. >> laura: no concern about biden's legacy from claire bear there, mollie. >> mollie: sad as it is to see people in this situation, whether it isjohn fetterman, its bipartisan really. it is not good for people being represented. people are powerful and have tons of people who rely on them for their paycheck, it is emblem attic with centralized power in washington, d.c. and not caring about the needs of the american people or constituents of people in play. it is sad to see. like with john fetterman, his doctor said political activity is not good for him and people use him to stay in power. >> laura: it is a sad commentary on more than just washington. the elderly are not treated well across the board in the united states and this is just one other way they are not respected. i think part of it is that. >> i think that is true, i think a lot of people deal with this in personal life. i can't tell you how many people talk to me about how it pains them to see president biden aging and they wonder why aren't people close to him caring more about him than power. thank you. >> laura: coming up, my training session with mma legend colby covington. and is the tragedy in hawaii biden's katrina. we will ask that next, stay there. we moved out of the city so our little sophie could appreciate nature. but then he got us t-mobile home internet. i was just trying to improve our signal, so some of the trees had to go. i might've taken it a step too far. because katrina was reputationally ruinous for george bush. hawaii should be the same for biden. instead they are using it to further their agenda on the climate. joining me now is michael d. brown former bush 43 geno auriemma administrator and now a nationally syndicated radio host. all right, michael, you have seen the president's non-comments really on the fires in hawaii. i guess he is going to go next monday. how do you rate this response so far? >> well, let's differentiate the response from biden's response. because biden's response is an abject failure. no comment? with regard to going to hawaii, if he wants to go to honolulu and meet with the governor, that's fine. but i can tell you from personal experience that if he goes to maui, it will interrupt operations. because the united states secret service will put an air cap over maui. they won't let any helicopters fly. it will be a complete disaster. mr. president, can you go to honolulu. you can get your photo op. talk to the governor, but i would encourage to you frankly stay away for a little while and let fema, who needs to be on the ground let them be on the ground doing their job right now. >> laura: so the possibility of going to meet with volunteers on their way or even, you know, national guard or beginning to airlift supplies in, that would be okay. but actually descending upon the ruins, which i'm not sure anyone was really expecting him to do, that would interrupt and interfere with the response. that's understood. that's understood. but i want get your reaction, though, to m. calais oman well, the deputy director for water resource management, michael. some say that he is responsible for a delay in releasing water to firefighters. here he is last year explaining his philosophy on water management. watch this. >> one, water is like taking it and looking at it from holistic perspective. we become used to looking at water as something which we use or something that we revere as that thing that gives us life. we all need water to live. so really my motto is let water connect us and not true conversations about equity. >> are you freaking kidding me? equity? >> right now, the plant at pearl harbor, you could move that over to maui. you could load c 5 a's with bottled water and get that moving in. releasing water for wildfires? my god, i didn't expect to hear that on the program tonight. that's absolutely unbelievable. >> laura: michael, i know back in the day during katrina chertoff tied your hands and you got dumped on for that in this case just focusing on the president again, tone really does matter. and, again, he is supposed to be mr. empathy. and you don't see it when you are at the beach. this is a horrific event for the united states. that, i mean, if donald trump was at the beach when something like this happened under his watch, i mean, they always criticize him for being on the golf course, i know. but this really took the cake. >> well, it really did. he should be, i don't think he knows how to use the bully pulpit. he should be using the bully pulpit to talk about everything that's going on and assuring the people in maui and frankly all americans that the federal government is doing every single thing that they should be doing. quite frankly i don't know where the fema administrator is today. i know she was in the white house briefing room yesterday. why isn't she in maui? to your point, you have to be on the ground to make sure that everything can you coordinate is being coordinated. talking to the governor, talking to the emergency manager. talking to the homeland security director. talking to the volunteers on the ground. you got to be there to make sure everything's done right. i know that from personal experience. what she is doing in d.c.?
