government to try to do all we can to alleviate suffering. >> steve: meanwhile, lawyers from one law firm say they are nearly positive they know what started it. all evidence, videos, witness accounts, burn profession and equipment points to hawaiian electric's equipment, power company being ignition source of the fire. >> ainsley: more than two thousand structures damaged or destroyed only 3% of that area has been served so far. president biden is facing backlash for not yet commenting on this strategy despite being seen on the beach yesterday in delaware. >> that's right. on friday. here on "fox & friends," we were speaking to will cain who was in mainland, u.s.a. and after the show yesterday. he flew out to maui. he arrived just a few hours ago. it's mid night there i know that your family has had a condo there on the west side of maui for decades now you see it after so much has burned. it's got to be heart breaking. >> will: i imagine what i will see, steve, when i get there a little bit later today will be something that's impossible for me to understand and impossible for so many of the other people that i have gotten to speak to since i landed. two to have survived. we landed a few hours ago took off right after "fox & friends weekend" on saturdays. traveling nonstop. you lose six hours when you come here. so, i'm on the north side of the island. this is basically where the staging operation is for most of the logistics and evacuation for the people on the west side of the maui. only one way in and out of west maui. it's a circle. one way either direction. it's blocked off right now. there is checkpoints and police controlling the amount of people that go in. i will tell you, when i landed, ainsley, steve, brian. i immediately made contact with a pastor who we can call it date, we can call it whatever it may be that plays a mysterious role in our lives but a pastor that i met just three weeks ago when i was on vacation here with my family in maui. pastor that baptized my sons in the pacific ocean right off west maui. i made contact with him pastor with kings church and went to their main church main hub. his church and his home were burned to ash ashes in hine. ashes in lahaina: people from lahaina now homeless. 40 people behind me. i don't know if you see the tents behind me. staging station where they are dropping off supplies. people living in two rooms behind me. war memorial just over here. there is hundreds if not thousands living inside a gymnasium over here because that town as you see on television screen is gray. it is ash. it is gone. and so i met a couple, beautiful couple four or five kids stranded by nieces nephews. l.j. and vanessa. they lived in lahaina. they have video they have given us. they ran from the flames. they told us their harrowing story. watch. this what do you know what is left of your home and neighborhood. >> we have gone back. we sneaked in. we got -- nothing. there is nothing. our two vehicles gone. our apartment gone. the whole complex. >> we hear about how many people have died and we hear about how many are still missing. how about for you and your personal life. >> i lost an uncle, a cousin and nephew. my cousin actually from what i heard went to go look for his parents not knowing that his sister and nephew didn't make it out either. lahaina is small. being born and raised. you see alleluia all these faces and it's heart breaking. >> will: again, i don't know if this is fate or mysterious forces in life. we went to the same church. she has moved churches. united methodist in lahaina which i go to in the summers. they told a harrowing story. if he had taken the left instead of the right he had taken he would have been engulfed in the smoke and flames. you will see it all throughout the morning on "fox & friends." there is much more to those conversations. very emotional as well. tulsi gabbard is going to be joining us as well. she has been all over the island understanding what happened here on maui, guys. >> brian: did you see a lot of security? i know you just got there for a few hours. have you seen a lot of fema officials? have you seen a lot of police officers? any national guard? >> >> will: you know i have seen national guard, brian. they are working. there is volunteers around a lot of these centers where people are being housed temporarily. there is this weird dichotomy where the rest of the island is going about its business. if anyone has ever been here and i have heard from so many people beautiful messages have you hone mind on maui, stayed here and often been 00 west side. that's really cut off, brian, and so those national guarded police presence is all over there and it's keeping people where we are now from getting over there and life goes on. there is the recovery and the survival and support effort over here, there is also the economy and it goes on and it needs to for many of these people way at the harbor, i haven't seen that just yet. i will see the presence tomorrow in west maui. >> ainsley: i'm curious about travel. you said last week that your mom was leaving over the weekend. are all these flights, they packed? what, we have a ton of mulch. ♪ >> steve: all right. welcome back. a career criminal in florida is dead after leading law enforcement on multi-county chase in florida and shooting officers a number of times. the pursuit began after the suspect's wife called cops when they arrived, he shot at them and shot his wife who is expected to be okay. the suspect had a long rap sheet including this including 54 felony charges and at least # 1 convictions. the local sheriff warning all criminals in the area if you shoot at one of us, we're going to fire back. pasco county sheriff chris joins us now. sheriff, good morning to you. >> good morning. thanks for having me on. >> steve: i just gave like the very basic fact about what happened. tell us what happened on saturday night. >> long, extensive crime that occurred. first started in hernando county. the wife said pasco county to pick up her daughter. in pasco county, that's where her husband interpreted her, started firing rounds at her. thank god she is going to to be okay. she was shot at least twice. for our deputies as they were arriving on scene immediately. he started firing point blank at their cruisers. again, by the grace of god they were safe and one went into the driver's side door. from there it went into tampa, hillsborough county. florida highway patrol. tampa police, hillsborough sheriff's office all got engaged it. got to the point he drove his vehicle into a pond and people watched the video. that's where our training kicked. in the fact that, he was going to shoot outside out. he was trying to kill us. like he tried to kill his wife. like he tried to kill the other deputies. because of our training and equipment we were able to neutralize the situation and save and rescue the rest of the citizens because who would have known had this guy stayed out there who else he would have harmed. >> steve: you are absolutely right about the training and also team work. you have got a bunch of different law enforcement agencies involved in ultimately the takedown of this guy. sheriff, why was this guy -- we just put up his resume. he has a best of your knowledge of felonies and convictions. why walls he out on the street? you're right. she was on her way and i will be on my way as well. here we are tulsi in maui. you have made your way all over to west maui. tell me what you have seen and why it was so important to come back to hawaii. >> will, i served in congress for eight years the island of maui was in my district. my heart has been with the people of maui throughout this entire tragedy. i needed to come here and be there for them and show my support but, also, tell their story. there is so much happening here that's not actually making it out into the news. the tragedy of every single life that's been lost. those who are still missing. we must continue to focus on finding every one of those people. there are also so many others who are struggling to survive. and also looking for what happens tomorrow and i just want to say that this community is so special. even those who have lost their homes, who have lost everything, but maybe their car and their phone, are stepping up to see how they can help their neighbor. >> will: you and i have talked about that, tulsi, we have several acquaintances and friends, famous surfer buckeye lenny and citizens on maui where they have stepped up where they have seen gaps in the response. i'm talking about people flying helicopters and plane planes frm hereby to the west side. boats i know my friend is running a boat from gemini who are bore to the west side people are stepping up. >> >> incredible in this time of need the aloha spirit really shines through there are a lot of community led pods service pods north of lahaina, a community cut off largely from the outside world where media cameras are not being allowed. in those who don't specifically have a home there are not being allowed in. they are standing up and getting support, you know, food, medical, basic first aid, toiletries and those sorts of things. setting up in people's yards and garages. serious concern about looting and security. setting up their own security patrols walking through the neighborhood at night. there is a feeling though that there's not enough communication. they are not getting word from of the county or the state or the federal government or fema about what's going on. what's available to them. >> this is a completely community-driven effort. they are helping each other. they are not, unfortunately, seeing that support coming from the government yet. >> will: really quickly, tulsi mentioned it's hard for the media to get through so there is big gaps in information there are people are concerned about what happens next. a lot of focus on what's happened and who we are still recovering and looking for a lot of locals are wondering what happens to my home and land and lahaina? >> given the history of this place and given how a lot of generational land has been developed whether it's into hotels or other things, there is serious concern that this beautiful, historic site of lahaina that was once the capital of the congress dom of hawaii back in the day, nine, 10 generations of native hawaiians have lived there that this land be acquired or taken over and developed into something that causes them to lose not only their homes, but their history and so much of the culture here on maui. and this is a very real concern today. even as people are focused on the emergency of today, it's not at all lost on them that they are concerned about how to rebuild in a way that honors the native hawaii people and hawaii. >> will: that's why information becomes such an important resource. why we need to be over there. why we need to be telling these stories. thank you for inviting me over here. i'm so glad we talked and you came out here tonight to be on "fox & friends" and appreciate how are for hawaii and for america. >> thank you. >> will: all right, ainsley, back to you. >> ainsley: will, i know you grew up going there and fond memories there. your children were just baptized in the ocean with the pastor you told us about. we will check in with you all morning. >> will: thanks, ainsley. >> ainsley: hearts and prayers with the people there church in maui miraculously spared from the raging fires. look at that picture. still standing untouched a symbol of hope for its members. including our next guest camille murano, her family lost everything in the fire and she joins us now. good morning. >> good morning. >> ainsley: so what. >> thank you for having me. >> thank you for coming on. i'm so sorry for your loss. what have you been through? where are you s staying? where did you go. >> oh my god, i don't know where whereto start. it was a very, very long week for us. we started going to work in the morning on tuesday and obviously we couldn't open. there was no electricity all over the island. i mean all over west side. so, as soon as we left where i work at, i made sewer sure that all my family were in my house so we can start, you know, packing and stuff like that. although we didn't have any of the signs or warnings whatsoever. we could see ourselves that the fires was just blowing so fast you don't want to be trapped. you know, i do have my mom who is 91 years old with me. i do also have a grand new grandson that's just 2 months old that day. i just made sure that i had secured them in the car, get out of lahaina and me and my husband actually were the last people to leave our area because we have like -- sorry, 10 furr babies to transport. >> what you able to get them all out research for the other four doug dog, my family out of the family because of funeral services they had to attend philippines. my daughter had to walk where everybody was trapped to get the dogs from their house to make sure we secured them with us. >> ainsley: sounds like you are a good caretaker and good mother and daughter and great sister to take care of all of those animals, too. tell me about your church. did everything around it burn or a good portion around the church burn? >> as far as i know around the church is all gone. so, obviously, you know, in front of the church, that's where the big fire that you guys see on front street started. the big what happened is -- we were all thinking that of course our church is gone. so we went seeing and talking to father and stuff like that. basically that was my only hope. everything else i basically lost. my home, my car my work and other two fur babies left before we could get them. sorry. basically, it's just the church that is left for me in lahaina. >> ainsley: how can we help you? what do you need? what does hawaii need from us? >> at the moment it's been four or five days now. you know what? i don't even know what i need. i just need everyone, i guess, to include us in your prayers i don't know what's next for us i mean the future right now is very unpredicted for us. i know there is help up there overw4e78ing all the love and support is overwhelming, i cannot thank everybody enough everybody found out i'm staying at my brother-in-law's house. serve coming by and dropping off stuff. awesome. >> ainsley: thinking about you every single day and praying for you all. it broke my heart when i saw some of the pictures during our last reporter hit i saw a sign that said missing person's report. and that really hits home when you realize so many people are missing and the numbers are probably going to go up. did you know anyone who had to jump in the water? do you want to see donald trump show up on the 23rd? >> absolutely. yeah. i want to hear all the candidates speak. and, you know, i will vote my conscience when the time comes. but i will vote for the candidate that the party puts up. >> and if we could take a look at you real quick, gail. biggest crowds by far seem to be trump. the people heblegd looked like pence was heblegd and desantis was heblegdz heavily. i think how they handled being heckled is important. but, and they need to be able to address controversies. >> brian: real quick, angel on this and then real quick to kevin. donald trump showed up with all the delegation in florida that is supporting him, not the sitting governor. what about that?
