past - it's the deadliest wildfire in the united states in the past 100 years. at least 4500 people are now in need of shelter. >> we feel the urgency, as we walk through those streets, as we talk to people, we feel that same struggle, that same anxiety and the same desire to do absolutely everything that we can and in our power to make sure our loved o ones, our families are taken care of. >> the state's attorney general has opened a probe into the wildfire response, critical decisions that happened before, during and after the fire. welcome into this fourth hour of "fox & friends" on sunday morning. we spent time together talking about this over the last couple days. i have a profound love of place, community. i love the united states, it's made up of 50 states, unique. i love the boston accent, how it's different than joey's accent or texas accent. i love america is a beautiful clkaleidoscope. hawaii is so unique, its culture, it's a beautiful flower in t kaleidoscope that is ameria and lahaina is you unique place in american history. i'll be reporting live from maui to bring you the latest. i think the attention turns to something that sadly hidden, what's inside the buildings. 3% has been searched of 2,000 homes and we're at 93 confirmed dead, only two identified and that number is going to be horrific once they get in there and really start looking inside those homes. rachel: i just can't imagine. it was interesting to see the videos of those two young ladies, they are clearly in shock still and i'm sure, will, when you get there, you'll be encountering a lot of people who are still shell shocked over what happened. will: well, my goal is to help bring that story to you, the american people here in the lower 48 to understand what's happened so that not only can we understand america and what's been lost but we can do something to help. here's what i'm attempting to do on my part. there's a gofundme up, called help the people of maui. you can see it on your screen. a lot of people often wonder where does their money go. there's great places to donate. because i've been there for over 40 years of my life in the summers i'll make you this pledge, promise, i'm a part of this and i will make sure my heart, soul, my efforts are attached to that money going to families that need it. my sons were baptized three weeks ago in maui outside of lahaina by a preacher that lost his home and church. it's one example that people that i intend to ensure get the help they need in lahaina with your help. rachel: really important stuff. we have the most amazing viewers. there's never been a time that we put out a request like that and not been overwhelmed and blown over by the charity and the compassion of our viewers s soil really glad you're doing that. it gives a lot of people assurance knowing somebody with your integrity will make sure that money gets to people you know and are suffering right now in maui. joey: we're going to turn now to some news. potentially breaking news. there are reportedly claims that president biden had two missed chance to prevent the kabul attack that killed 13 troops during the chaotic afghanistan withdrawal. we have a quote detailing one of those that says the untold story of biden's fiasco and the american warrior who fought to the end is the name of the book, the quote is i share intelligence about the impending attack. the intelligence community didn't know the gate but said it would be abby gate new to the number of people there. i want to move to the next about one of these potential attacks. it says intelligence officers knew that isis k was staging in a hotel two to three kilometers west of the airport and d2 asks, presumably that's an intelligence officer asked the l taliban to conduct an you assault on the hotel -- an assault on the hotel they never did. the synopsis i'm getting is they were told they couldn't conduct the raid by the taliban, the taliban told us they couldn't conduct a raid in the area they control for their own safety and the result was we didn't do anything to prevent it. rachel: that's what happens when your partners are the taliban and that was what we were told, we were partnering with the taliban and of course the consequence of that is that americans died and i'm surprised that this didn't -- i know this isn't -- we had powerful hearings, i guess a lot of these parents understand that there were a lost intelligence failures, a lot of poor decisions but it is shocking nonetheless. will: 13 service men and womn killed in the suicide bomb attack, the book reveals two chances for the biden administration to do something to stop that, one a potential drone strike on the location of the known isis k members and two, knowing as you said the location of the hotel and having it capable, open for potential raid. joey: the juxtaposition of the drone strike we did conduct because americans were so outraged over what happened, which ended up killing civilians, the intelligence was shaky. this alleges we had better intelligence prior to, we had direct testimony in congress about this, asking for permission to take out what they knew to be the bomber. there's some -- there's a chain of command. there's a decision making process. it's had hard to make these decisions, not everybody gets to be a combat officer to make the decisions. sometimes in the words of i believe it was colonel sheller, you've got to throw your rank on the table and say i've got to do the right thing, if you take it away, that's okay. sometimes you make the hard decisions so people may live. it bothers me so much. it's not just 13 americans in younger, it's 183 humans. just because they weren't americans doesn't mean their lives don't matter. we don't talk about the dozens that were maimed catastrophically. some americans lost limbs. and to look at it and say it was about the optics, they didn't want to provoke the taliban, didn't want to put them in a position where they might have to fight their way out of there which is what should have happened because we lost lives anyway, the idea that you hide your bad decisions and lack of intelligence and now it's coming out, thank god it's coming out. i don't remember his name. it was a marine marine corps gel that looked at the camera and said the taliban was our partners in providing security for us. you know what happens when the taliban provides security for you? you die. rachel: that's what so many gold star parents are so sad about, again, i want to show you some of the footage from the testimonies and the hearings we saw last week. this is kelly barnett and darren hoover, gold star parents of marine staff sergeant taylor hoover. >> my son, 12 others left this earth thinking their command cared nothing for them. the wounded feel that their command felt nothing for them. the survivors felt that their command felt nothing for them. i feel this as well. all i wanted to know, where my kid was, where he fell, how long did he last, did he fight. i was told to my face, he died on impact. that's not true. >> those who had power over our military know that they made a conscious decision that throwed the chaotic and frantic withdrawal from afghanistan. ultimately, the president, do what our son did. be a grown [bleep] man. admit to your mistakes. learn from them. so that this doesn't happen ever, ever again. you all need to resign immediately. our sons and daughters have more integrity in their little toes than every one of them combined. joey: i had close friends that were there that day. they start ad support group -- started a support group. it was such a traumatic thing that combat experienced marines had to find support and work through it, not because of what they saw, because they know the truth will never get out and they have to live with it. will: so powerful. rachel: their pain was compounded by the president talking about beau, lying about beau's service, looking at his watch when the bodies arrived. there were so many ingig at this anies they -- indignities they faced. joey: one of the first words to a mom was i know how you feel. the first thing does was look her in the eyes and make it about him and his son that in her words he got to say good-bye to. will: we move to this, a story that is outrageous on a couple levels. lpga pro golfer amy volson she spoke out on her pro life views while seven months pregnant, she spoke out, a writer wanted to publish her views. the writer was incapable of publishing her views. it was told to him, the staff was i believe his quote going nuts. rachel: revolting, mute any. >> he wasn't able to have his article on amy olson published in global golf post. this is what amy olson's unpublished interview with steve eubanks was to say. when roe v wade was overturned i was playing in a major championship and people from around the world were outraged. a year later people are celebrate i'll be playing with an unborn child they recognize is a life. this year, there will be 157 playing in the field. recognizing that our child is a human being that will be out there with me. she's pointing out the hypocrisy and the irony of those that cover golf. rachel: those that cover golf and the hypocrisy of a culture that if somebody says i want a child, suddenly the child actually exists. but if somebody says they don't want that child, then that child loses its rights, its humanity. >> it's ability to exist. rachel: and it's ability to exist as well. joey: the real rub, what she's saying, they're willing to take advantage of me as a pr story because i'm playing pregnant but the same people that are willing to get pr off my unborn child was outraged of the protection of my unborn child a year ago. rachel: and censors the story. joey: that's an important thing to say. rachel: and they censored the story, it's unbelievable when they talk about erasing women. women have been concerned about the trans movement, how it erases women. they want to erase pro life women, take them off the pages like we don't exist. will: i said it was outrageous on several levels. the second level is they won't let her story be told. steve eubanks wanted to write it. we don't know if he agrees or disagrees with her. he was told by the global golf post, no. here's what he said. >> i knew at the time it would be controversial but i knew it was news. when it went through the editorial process and came back, the executive editor told me that the only way that the piece would run is if we removed the abortion and christian stuff. that was anti-news and quite frankly anti-christian. and i just couldn't bide by either of those. i knew i had to walk away. >> i expected back dlash from people that disagreed with me. i didn't expect the story not to run. what concerned me, is the media is con considering itself the ge keeper of acceptable opinions and what can be said and not said in the public discourse. rachel: that's a big problem in our country, one of the biggest problems we're facing and this seems like, you know, it's a golf story but it's not really. it's really about what opinions are as she said acceptable and in many cases some people in her case, her story wasn't told at least in that publication but other people are being punished in much more serious ways for having wrong think, we did a story yesterday, we have other people sitting in prisons in d.c. for having the wrong opinions. this is the thing that happens when we start criminalizing wrong think, if you will. joey: we did reach out to global golf post. we have not heard back. we can presume they're still going nuts over there. all right. rachel: we'll turn now to your headlines. a career criminal in florida is dead after leading police on a multicounty chase and firing at officers several times along the way. one sheriff in the pursuit said this should be a warning to all criminals in the area. >> this is tampa bay. this isn't other parts of the country where law enforcement are hindered because the elected officials say we don't want you to do anything, we don't want you to protect citizens because we're all about the defund the police movement. we're all in this together with our citizens and if you shoot at one of us, we're going to fire back. rachel: the pursuit began after the suspect's wife called police. when the police arrived on the scene he shot at them and shot his wife who is expected to be okay. he had 18 felony convictions prior to this. wow. robert f kennedy junior doubling down on his opposition to the u.s. involvement in ukraine while campaigning in iowa. >> 15 million americans were told they were being cut from medicare that month. that month, we sent over $113 billion, so we have a lot of money when we need it for the bankers or for the war machine. but we don't have it when we need it for regular americans. rachel: a lot of money for the war machine, he says. kennedy making his first appearance in iowa this weekend. fellow democrat marianne williamson was also in the hawkeye state to campaign. and a theory known as girl math is going viral on social media. the so called math is reimagining certain transactions including rules like anything under $5 is free, a return is actually a profit. i'm totally guilty of that. [laughter] rachel: and that all discounted items are free. the most popular one appears to be ladies defending pricey concert tickets for artists like taylor swift, claiming if you buy tickets far in advance it also counts as free. will: if you return something, you made money? rachel: i agree with that i buy a bunch of stuff and return some of it and i've got all this money free. joey: she can go to kohl's, she can leave with the stuff she got and kohl's cash, they give her money to shop there. she made money for being there. i don't know how accurate it is. that's how she presents it to me. if something is on sale, you get all of them. we didn't have to buy all of them. rachel: she's saving money. joey: that's what i hear. i don't have a clue. i don't know. rachel: i'm surprised in the pc culture we were able to run girl math. but there is some truth to girl math. will: we don't we also do girl directions. [laughter] rachel: that's true. how about girl driving. will: kathleen doesn't like a map. go until you see a mcdonald's. take a right. we're at a big tree, take a left. rachel: it's the worst when guys go go south and then north i'm like i don't know where south and north it. anyway, thank god for google maps. joey: there's a saying in the hunting and gun world that i'm a big part of that i'm afraid when i die my wife will sell my guns for what i told her i paid for them. we spend money too. will: ahead, republicans calling out the doj for protecting democrats while going after political enemies. >> it's two tiered justice. >> they're taking the rule of law, turning it on its head. will: our next guests know two tiered justice systems. joey: how you can join a mission to help hawaii, coming up. what is your experience? what scares you or worries you about what you're seeing now with president trump? >> well, good morning. rachel: good morning. >> this definitely sets a really dangerous precedent in my opinion. i don't like the fact that we're seeing the main opposition leader to the biden administration being prosecuted while at the same time we're seeing all of this corrupt stuff that hunter biden is doing and almost nothing is happening to him. i think i can relate a little bit with my situation in venezuela. we saw how the main opposition leaders in venezuela are currently being incarcerated or being, you know, not allowed to participate in elections and it's completely scary. however, i don't think we are in the same situation which is hopeful, in my opinion. i believe we can still trust the justice system hopefully trump is going to receive a fair trial, which is something that we lost completely in venezuela. we cannot expect something like that to happen in venezuela. here, we're not there but we could definitely get there if things become worse. rachel: we have a judge for this trial who worked with hunter biden, who we know is a total partisan, so we'll see. i mean, there is hope. we have a system. but it certainly looks to be breaking and it's interesting that alarm bells are going off for you. tamina, tell me about the situation in iran. your grandfather was in danger of being executed and you guys escaped. so what are the parallels that concern you here? >> one of the main reasons that i came to the united states was because there is no reliable justice s system in iran. my grandfather was almost executed without trial only because he was a public servant in the previous government before the islamic revolution. i see some trends happening in the united states. one thing that concerned me about the hunter biden plea deal was lack of transparency, obviously transparency is the hallmark of the democratic system and it's protected by our constitution. the other thing that really concerned me about former president trump's indictment was the fact that his attorneys were named as co-conspirators. in iran, a lot of attorneys that represent political opponents are also prosecuted and in this case one thing that really concerned me as a law student is i do not want to see attorneys that simply gave plea gal add -- gave legal add a vice to their r clients threatened to have licenses revoked. i believe there is hope. we have a justice system that has levers of transparency. however, we need to remain vigilant. rachel: that's a great point you bring up, we could see charges against people giving legal advice to somebody is a new next level thing for america and something we should be concerned about. what kind of advice would you give to americans? you seem to be a little more hopeful, maybe because the system is so bad in venezuela. but what are the things that you would advise americans in this situation? >> well, i think my main advice would be to remain vigilant, to care about your rights, to go out there and probe when you see something is that not right. we're part of the dissident project. we visit high schools to basically teach students about our own experiences in countries we left behind so they can learn the basics of individual liberty, of, you know, human rights and everything, right. so that's my advice, take care of your rights, protect your freedom, you can easily lose it if you don't do things right. it happened in venezuela. we were a democratic nation. not anymore. so, yeah. rachel: a lot of people feeling like they are being persecuted right now so they want to keep quiet. he is saying keep up while you can, essentially. is that your advice as well? they've got to finish 11 appropriation bills when they come back in september. they've got to deal with the fbi in one of those and that is funding for what the fbi wants. is there going to be any accountability here for any of it? we're talking about the most recent allegation of corruption and coverup at the top of the doj this morning with ted cruz, texas senator will give us his take about the allegations that president biden committed brianery. is it true and what will happen to a sitting president with these incredible allegations. we're also talking about what shoe is next to drop with investigative reporters, they will join me to take this on. marsha blackburn as well is going to talk about the china angle. once again, we have joe biden responding to communist china in a weak manner with this executive order that he signed into practice this week by limiting some investments in chinese companies that are tied to the military. it doesn't go far enough. it's narrow according to experts i've spoken with and it's another weak response and all the candidates are talking about this right now on the 2024 campaign trail. they all hit iowa this weekend at the iowa state fair. we'll catch up with vivek ramaswamy to get the state of affairs in the 2024 election. what you raised, joey, is one of the key points and that isal we allegations of corruption at the highest levels, the fbi and doj. joey: maybe you can get vivek to rap for you while he's on there. he has a musical acumen, we hear. that's a jam packed show. stay tuned in. it's coming up at the top of the hour. maria: i'll see you in 10 minutes. joey: coming up, we get a taste of the u.s. open. chef david burke is serving up main dishes from the menu. i've got to get out there, check some of that food out. ♪ or they've lost the same 10, 20, 50 pounds over and over again. they need a real solution. i've always fought with 5-10 pounds all the time. eating all these different things and nothing's ever working. i've done the diets, all the diets. before golo, i was barely eating but the weight wasn't going anywhere. the secret to losing weight and keeping it off is managing insulin and glucose. golo takes a systematic approach to eating that focuses on optimizing insulin levels. we tackle the cause of weight gain, not just the symptom. when you have good metabolic health, weight loss is easy. i always thought it would be so difficult to lose weight, but with golo, it wasn't. the weight just fell off. i have people come up to me all the time and ask me, "does it really work?" and all i have to say is, "here i am. it works." my advice for everyone is to go with golo. it will release your fat and it will release you. we all need fiber for our digestive health, but less than 10% of us get enough each day. good thing metamucil gummies are an easy way to get prebiotic, plant-based fiber. with the same amount of fiber as 2 cups of broccoli. metamucil gummies the easy way to get your daily fiber. joey: the u.s. open is almost here and so is the popular flavors of the open event on august 24th, featuring a huge lineup of premium foods from celebrity chefs. rachel: we have one of those celebrity chefs with us right here, it's the famous chef david burke. he joins us right now. joey: we're so lucky to have you. rachel: there's a half eaten pie over there because i've already started. >> i saw it. >> that will be at the open. we run a restaurant at the outside of the arena at the u.s. open. we've been there for about 12 years. it's a great event. joey: what do we have here. >> thursday coming up, we have flavors of the open, an event at the park at the u.s. open and there will be a variety of chefs, melba wilson, myself, as well as kwami anwachi will be serving food with t tennis pros and other celebrities, that's thursday at 6:30. we'll be making the em pa that , made with spinach, artichokes and cheese. rachel: we're pretending this is dough and you go like this. >> it's a little harder. tortilla is what you make the di quesidlla with. >> first it was sushi, now it's cerviche, salt, pepper, lime juice, add some mango, avocado. you can try anything, it's all edible. rach.rachel: he just gave us fd lobster as well. this is thing. all right. mix it up. i'm going to grab a spoon. joey: that's real good. >> mix that up. it needs olive oil. rachel: a little olive oil, sure. let's try it. this looks amazing. >> looks so good. >> it's very healthy. rachel: it is, actually. >> until you eat a whole big bowl of it. anything is healthy in moderation. i would eat too much. rachel: i'm going to try this. >> it's kind of seasonal. i mean, it's -- rachel: oh, that's great too. joey: thank you very much. >> the flavors of the open, we're making the empanada, we serve with mango. joey: this is fantastic. rachel: we don't have a lot of -- >> here we go. >> you want to try that out. rachel: this is one of the best key lime pies i've ever had. amazing. thank you for joining us. >> thank you. more of this key lime pie. ♪ another one bites the dust. ♪ another one bites the dust. ♪ and another one's gone, and another one's gone. ♪ another one bites the dust which hotel?
