these fires were started. there were multiple that burned across the island of a maui none are fully contained at this hour. hopefully we will learn a bore but right now really the tragic news is the death coal continues to rise. this could be the deadliest wildfire in modern american history. write out the second deadliest wildfire put 80 people confirmed at this hour but. >> fire while just all, our prayers are with you at this hour. we are hearing an extension of your church in lahaina was destroyed by these fires. what can you tell us about that and what has happened to those parishioners in trenton parishioners -- my party or family? >> we are one church about 160 campuses through the nation. through lahaina and united sites i was one of the extensions burned to the ground. we have kept track of our people. we know who survived we are only missing one person right now that we have not been able to find. we are hoping she is okay. they will come and worship here at the cathedral this sunday. it is very devastating. one of the things that happens when you have a fire like this the worst in people come out as well as the best. what i have noticed is the best in people willing to serve with their whole hearts. people staying up all night ministering to the hundreds of people that are here at the cathedral that we are clothing and sheltering and feeding. our businesses have helped too. her. people from all over the mainland have responded to the malate relief fund our church has started at kings cathedral. and god has done a great thing in terms of at least allowing us to help those in need. in fact, the word of the lord gave me when this began with psalm 46 -- one god is our refuge and strength a very present help in time of need. so we are here for the people. we are thankful we got a crew of volunteers that are giving themselves to help others. we are so thankful for the support of groups like city serve, convoy of hope, many stores that have given, the government is stepping in three different things like that people who have donated. people come out of the woodwork and said what can i do to help? it is amazing. tremendous expression of love. aishah: everyone is come together, pastor friend of the biggest need right now is shelter people do not have places to sleep. i am hearing people are slipping in their cars parked in parking lots they are just looking for summer to be safe, take their kids of the kids are not scared. tell me about what you are seeing in the dire needs. >> all i can tell you it was from the people who are here at the cathedral we open up all the pews. people are sleeping on pews. we are feeding everybody, hundreds every night, every day. the parking lot is filled with cars. some of the stories are absolutely amazing. i met a man on a wednesday night an elderly man about 92 years old he was hugging a tree trying to figure out what to do he could not go anywhere and a couple from our church there in lahaina picked him up and saved his life. that story is multiplied in many, many times over. it is hard when you are not there to imagine what it must have been like. but i remember the fire in paradise that happened in california a few years ago. my father-in-law live there. that was quite a tragic saying as well and the whole town burned down i guess we had the same thing here in lahaina. it's hard to even get in there now. you have to go in a convoy. it's still very difficult. aishah: really quickly, pastor, so many of us that are watching this have never been to hawaii. and we feel so helpless, feeling so, so far away. but we are just devastated spiritually devastated watching these pictures and hearing about the stories people jumping into the water, things like that. what can you tell us and how we can help how we can be there for you? >> well, two things. one is to pray of course pray for the people of maui. pray for the responders who were trying to help like our church and many others that are wanting to do something to help. secondly, you can contribute. one of the proms when a tragedy like this happens is you have a lot of scammers that set up go fun things and all of that. you don't know if you're giving to the right organization. we have been you're a long, long time. i've been pastoring a church for 43 years is grown from a church of 100 to thousands and u.s. after they're apprehended with a future court date. these families know that that is when they seek out border patrol, turn themselves and they really do not have a hole out of fear of being returned or deported these days. we'll take you back down to brownsville this happened earlier in the week. a huge mass of several hundred migrants tried to rush 20 ports of entry down there this is the gateway international bridge after a false rumor spread on social media amongst the migrants the border was essentially going to be opened up to asylum-seekers obviously that was not the case. you >> first of all the executive order issued wednesday it should be a rule effective immediately. it should not allow any investment into china's tech sectors. not just the three or four designated. the reason is in china there's no military distinction like in our country. if you invest in the civilian country company all that technology gets pipeline to the chinese military under the doctorate of a military civil fusion that applies in china. >> what can we do militarily question work they are aggressive, they build the islands they are aggressive keep on poking taiwan. the deal with the south china sea. they keep building more aircraft carriers, spending billions of dollars for their armaments and their navy capacity. i was in kansas city at the world war i museum honoring and are murmuring that war. it seems to me there could be echoes of the same with what china is doing. >> certainly. right now there is a crisis in the south china sea where the chinese are trying to dismember the philippines. we have a mutual defense treaty. we need to have our destroyers out there to oppose the chinese craft that are engaging in some very dangerous tactics. some of the chinese a tactics amount to acts of war against the philippines. this is a slow brewing crisis last saturday the biden administration issued a warning to china and writing the united states was prepared to use force to protect the philippines. the american public is not paying attention because of all of the development internally. we are very close we are one incident away from a shooting war with china and the south china sea. >> and finally, what do you expect?
