>> this is a very active situation, as we were flying in a couple hours ago, you see the flames from the air and firefighters battles on the ground. search and rescue still underway and there are fears the death toll could go up. unfortunately, 36 people confirmed dead temperature is unclear the cause of the fire. but maui was a tender box. you had hurricane dora, a few hundred miles that whipped up 80 mile per hour gusts fanning the flames and grounding helicopt helicopters. the city of lahaina burnt to the ground. some people were jumping into the water. take a listen. >> i was the last one off the dock when the fire storm came through the tree. it took everything with it. i just ran to the beach and ran south and just helped everybody i could along the way. got to know when you can. >> four shelters established on the island and people have had to evacuate their home. tourists being told to stay away from the island of maui. the airport packed with people trying to get out, so far 11,000 have gotten off the island so far. >> carley: thank you, bring in tulsi gabbard, she joins us live now. just devastating what is happening in your home state of ohio. what are you hearing right now? >> carley, it is truly heartbreaking to see this tragedy unfold. that community of lahaina on maui is historic, close, tight-knit community and to see how the fires have destroyed that community and how many lives have been taken and how many families have been displaced. yesterday the death toll was sadly six people passed because of the fires and that has gone up to 36 and what i'm hearing from friends and community leaders on maui, they expect the number to increase more first spngd responders are able to get to the areas impacted by the fire. the community is coming together, no question about it, i ask everybody to send prayers there way. we have red cross and a number of local organizations doing everything they can to support folks who have seen everything and all of their belongings, homes completely gone in an instant. >> carley: responding to a emergency of this scale is made more difficult because of where hawaii is. in california, you can pull resources from other states, hawaii doesn't have that luxury. >> that is right. we are the most remote island chain in the world, far from the resources necessary for a community to fight this kind of fire and really to look at how do you begin to provide immediate resources to the community and how do you put the pieces of everyday life back together. there are schools, maxed out shelters, limited resources. this is a critical time. i have been in touch with samaritans purse, who have a lot of experience mobilizing sources quickly. they have aviation assets to move equipment and supplies needed at time like this. >> carley: samaritans purse does such good work. this seems like the worst possible scenario for so many people on so many different fronts. power was out, cell phone towers were out so people trying to call 911 couldn't get in touch with anybody. the fire was moving so fast due to wind that some had to jump in the ocean to save their lives, that is absolute desperation. >> it is and it is hard to imagine exactly what that feels like to see these flames. you look at the image, it is like end of days scenario where you are surrounded and only place to go is out in the water and a lot of boats docked in lahaina have been destroyed. i represented this district in hawaii for eight years in congress, maui is one of the islands that was part of my district. when you look side by side to what was to what people are waking up today, it is kind of difficult to conceive what they have been through over 24-36 hours and how to move forward from here. >> carley: we'll keep everybody impacted by this in our thoughts this morning and going forward, historic situation unfolding and images out of hawaii are unbelievable. ask you about this new polling in from reuters just released showing president biden approval rating 42% and only 13% say the country is heading in the right direction. what do you think is driving the numbers? >> i think people are sick and tired of permanent washington that cares more about power and interest and tired as i am and many other, i was a democrat for 20 years, left the party out of frustration of the democrat elite, personal interest more than about the interest of the american people. most people in my community in hawaii and across the country want leaders who put their interest first. that's it. american people need to be the ones who win in the situation rather than one party bickering and fighting with the other. lengths democratic elite are willing to go to preserve power and gain more are dangerous for our country. the consequences of their decision of undermining rule of law, politicizing federal agent in national security state to further political interest, these are things we will continue to feel consequences of for quite sometime to come. american people are seeing what this abuse of power are doing to our country and are concerned about it. >> carley: tulsi gabbard, thank you, we appreciate it. brand-new bank record released by house oversight committee appear to show the biden family made $20 million from business deals across the globe. mike huckabee will look at the new evidence next. a man, his tractor and his family. these are the upshaws. though, he goes by shaw. which stands for skilled hands at work. from cutting hair, and mowing grass, to roasting marshmallows, he's got a grasp on what matters most. there's a story in every piece of land, run with us on a john deere tractor and start telling yours. get $1,000 off a 1025r tractor and 0% apr fixed rate for 60 months. every business deserves a great deal. that's why comcast business is launching the mobile made free event. with our business internet, new and existing customers can get one year of unlimited mobile for free. it's our best internet. powered by the next generation 10g network and with 99.9% reliability. plus one line of free mobile for an entire year. it's the mobile made free event-happening now. get started for just $49.99 a month. plus, ask how to get one free line of unlimited mobile. comcast business, powering possibilities. >> ashley: bank record obtained by house oversight committee show biden family made 20 million from foreign nationals while joe was vice president. republicans argue this could be evidence of a prescribe. >> i believe all the pieces are there and there is pattern with romania, ukraine, china, kazakhstan. you are seeing where joe biden communicated with these people and you are seeing things of benefit delivered to the countries and people in exchange for the money. we'll continue to follow the money and get closer to the biden's bank accounts. >> ashley: mike huckabee joins me. good to talk to you this morning. piggybacking off what james comer said there, 20 million allegedly coming to the biden family from china, russia, ukraine and kazakhstan to the biden family. white house says republicans do not have anything, they need to stop looking into this. what do you think? do house republicans have enough to start impeachment inquiry? do you think they have a smoking gun with this? >> it looks like this, the gun is warm. 20 million to the biden family and for what? wasn't like they did heavy lifting, stand on concrete floors and had to sweat through their socks everyday. this is showing up to a dinner and saying, my dad is the vice president, why don't i you sit down and have nice food and you never know when he will show up and hand you some money, million bucks to ukraine. why aren't there members of the press, there are a few, peter doocy among them. they turn their head and say there is nothing to see here, like the scene from naked gun" when leslie nelson tells the crowd, move on, there is nothing to see. there is a lot to see and they need to dig in deeper and maybe the democrats and press, which is the same, will start paying attention. >> ashley: last time i spoke to you, i said it is only matter of time before the media has to start talking about it, it is making them look bad they are ignoring this. joe biden said i have nothing to do with it, never on speaker phone, doesn't mean it didn't happen. turn gears, 900 u.s. school districts are shifting to a four-day school week this coming year. math scores are down five points for fourth graders and eight points for eighth graders, is this time to be moving from five day school weeks to four? >> it may not be bad, we don't know. schools are taking a chance. let it play out. i like to think school would be cautious and do on a spot basis. it presents real challenges to parents, many parents are building their own work week around the fact kids are in school monday through friday. if not on monday, that presents problem. the school says they will pay child care or make it available for $30 per day, that may help parents. i don't want to be critical, maybe there is value in it to give kids concentrated school week. thing most troubling, what covid did to kids of america is inexcusable and unforgivable and has lasting impact we may never recover from. >> ashley: you are right in aspect maybe shorter week will drive their attention span up more. in school districts and not-fo independents in missouri, going to add 35 minutes tuesday through friday to make up for lost time on monday. where will kids go if they don't have child care? it makes me nervous they will be on the street getting in trouble. is that concerning to you? >> very much and quite frankly, it would be different if they said monday's we will focus on art, music, theater, have activities to stimulate their learning. they will basically take the day off, if districts don't offer child care for affordable price, i think it is really problematic, especially for parents who are barely making ends meet. you have a single mom working a couple jobs, how will she pay for that? she probably can't and that's a problem. >> ashley: more strain and stress on the parents. mike huckabee, thank you for your time, have a good day. >> thanks, ashley. >> ashley: socialism pays well for bernie sanders and his family, new record show $200,000 went to a nonprofit that was run by bernie sanders wife and his son. >> carley: knock me over with a feather. cheryl casone is following the money, she is here next. proven, full-spectrum relief for all bipolar 1 symptoms. and in vraylar clinical studies, most saw no substantial impact on weight. elderly dementia patients have increased risk of death or stroke. call your doctor about unusual changes in behavior or suicidal thoughts. antidepressants can increase these in children and young adults. report fever, stiff muscles or confusion which may mean a life-threatening reaction, or uncontrollable muscle movements which may be permanent. high blood sugar, which can lead to coma or death, weight gain and high cholesterol may occur. movement dysfunction and restlessness are common side effects. sleepiness and stomach issues are also common. side effects may not appear for several weeks. ask about vraylar and learn how abbvie could help you save. hey, i just got a text from my sister. you remember rick, her neighbor?
