riot. good evening i am jon scott and this is the fox report. ♪. jon: more on those stories and a moment. first agents at the southern border of being overwhelmed by a searsurge of migrants seeking u. asylum. an unsettling video is emerging showing undocumented people being held in cages in arizona. christina coleman's life in our los angeles bureau with more on all of that, christina? >> hi jon, yes, despite the sweltering heat there is a surge in illegal border crossings in arizona tucson sector. take a look at this a photo for this photo has surfaced. you see migrants in a fenced in a holding area or as some describe it a cage free spokespersons of customs and border protection just told me this is a temporary outside overflow holding site for migrants but i am told border agents try to transfer the migrants to other locations as rapidly as possible. however these people are steel dealing with triple digit temps for hours at a time on some occasions. a tucson based immigrant advocacy group humane borders is calling for a stop to this. in a statement they said quote it is inhumane to hold people in cages and keep them outdoors for hours during a heat wave. people who are lawfully seeking asylum are suffering and lives are at stake. including small children. we call cbp to cease this practice immediately provide resources for a more humane border. and in a statement on this matter customs and border protection said the u.s. border patrol has a surge of personnel and transportation resources to respond to the increase of encounters in this area. some of the hottest most isolated and dangerous area of the southwest border where individuals have been callously sent by smuggling organizations to walk for miles often with little or no water. meantime some question the bite administration's efforts to get the humanitarian crisis under control. >> this administration when they open the border up they do not realize the cartel is taken advantage of the open border by overwhelming border patrols all these people k now they got all these open alleys where they are trafficking our women and children. >> "washington post" reports that obtain cbp data shows border agents made about 40000 arrests just last month. the highest one month total for the tucson sector and 15 years cbp has not officially release the apprehension numbers for july we are waiting for that still clearly a humanitarian crisis at our southern border, jon? >> christina coleman, christina thank you. the migrant crisis is spiraling into a huge housing problem in new york city. shelters in the city are overflowing for example roosevelt hotel which mayor eric adam designated in may as the main intake facility for asylum-seekers, is now at maximum capacity. migrants are sleeping shoulder to shoulder on the sidewalk outside. the mayor is asking the white house for more money in drawing up a plan to relocate thousands of undocumented migrants from city streets. let's bring in vicki she is eight new york city councilwoman. this is a sanctuary city after all. the mayor all of the sudden says we do not have any more room. so what is new york city supposed to do councilwoman? >> new york city has run out of things to do. they are going to start to you because quite possibly, thank you for having me on by the way jon and i appreciate it. worse they might start to use the federal lands. which the governor has been given authorization to do it which is a very scary prospect as well. they are going to start to fill up parks and local neighborhoods. i have a situation in my neighborhood in my district in a very small tight town called college a point. the overflow what used to be a catholic high school has not nowbecome a respite center. 300 adult mail and female individuals occupy that residence they are just spilling out onto the streets for the site of the roosevelt hotel as we know now for the past several weeks has become even more frightening to the outlining areas of the city such as my district and a lot of other districts. jon: what do you make of the fact this is supposed to be a century city new york city mayor of the city council has said come on in if you want too. come to new york will open our doors for you. now they're saying wait a minute. >> it has become too much and you not century city back when it first started was an okay way idea that was decades ago. it is time to lift the century city status we cannot have it anymore. we cannot sustain this anymore. it is spilling out like i said before, onto our streets. it is time to stop everything the buses coming in and from the situation to continue. it is unsustainable we cannot do it anymore. the mayor knows it. nothing has taken off the shelf. so we, as cou councilmembers hae absolutely zero control over where they put the migrants in our districts. it is what you hear it loud and clear from the people and i can say first hand from my district is where our reporting them? i have to explain to people when they told me he was going to the former site of saint agnes high school i had to constantly telling them now, it is not our fault as councilmembers. we are getting it because we get the call eight hours, six hours, 24 hours before it happens that it is coming to such and such area. in this part of your district. they name the location and we have little or no control over it. i have a crisis in college point. jon: what about stopping the problem at the border? >> how about that? >> to handle the influx records wouldn't that be a unique idea? that would be stopped, close the border. abided no more. we keep thinking throwing money at this problem is going to solve the problem. it is not. this is a bottomless pit so what are you going to keep throwing hundreds and hundreds and millions of dollars instead of doing what we should be doing? which is closing the border. that is what people are screaming about over here is close the border. the democrats think this is okay. the mayor of new york has reached overflow. eric adams we are overflow capacity. the state, governor hope but what is she doing about it? she is crying for more money. she was to see this brought out, she won new york city and all the other counties in the state including long island she lost it. now to ease the crisis we have here in new york, take my word for it they're going to start to entertain other areas throughout the state and long island long d progressive already tried that, they tried busting similes migrants to outlying areas for quicker still have control the outline areas. they are not allowed but right now they cannot have that but they will. mark my words. jon: if new york city cannot how the influx you got to wonder how they're doing in places like eagle pass, texas. >> that is what i say jon it is been going on for years.at the border down in texas you've got to feel bad for these people. and now we are getting it so all the sudden we look at it pure absolute wonder, no, close the border. >> councilwoman of new york city, councilwoman thank you. >> thank you jon. >> in orlando, florida police say a man hunt is over the suspect is dead after two officers were shot during a traffic stop last night for werethose officers now in critil condition, jeff paul joins us now with the latest, jeff? >> jon, police tracked down the suspected shooter early this morning at an orlando holiday inn hotel. that is where we ended up barricading himself, refused to come out and that was shot and killed by police officers after he once again according to them fired at law enforcement. the police chief in orlando was asked about his feelings regarding the situation and putting it simply, he did not hold back. >> to put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. for some piece of crab to do this to them because they do not want to go back to prison, is ridiculous but we're not going to put up with a partner going to step their fighting crime and keep our community safer. >> is all started last night around 11:00 p.m. local time. officers in orlando were investigating a car possibly connected to a homicide that took place further south in miami. however, when they stopped the vehicle the suspect reportedly got out and shot at the two officers. investigators say the suspect then carjacked another vehicle and then took off for the two officers who were shot were then taken to the hospital. they are expected to survive all thanks to a team of trauma nurses, doctors, and surgeons. >> we see events like this on a daily basis where our citizens are injured, or become sick. it is a night like last night that is a real privilege for us at orlando health to be able to take care of those who protect us and the citizens of orlando. >> as for the suspected shooter, that is him identified as 28-year-old dayton veil. police say he has a very long and violent criminal history. place initially identified a second possible suspect but they said eventually they determined that person is not involved, jon the pick what you say those officers are expected to recover? >> they are expected to make a full recovery. the surgeon there saying it is incredible that they are going to be able to survive. they were right there at the right time at the right place to get to the hospital and see the right doctors and surgeons to make sure they make a full recovery. looks a bit of good news in an otherwise terrible story. jeff paul thank you. a social media influence are now released from custody after this. [background noises] police say he is the one who incited that riot yesterday in new york city. thousands surged into the city's union square tossing chairs, climbing on cars, crowds where they are trying to win a gaming console. cb cotton is alive to explain more about what led to this chaos. >> hi jon. some crews had to work more than 24 hours later to clean up the mess left behind from this out-of-control crab out of the more than 60 people who were arrested yesterday, police say about half of them were juveniles. new york city mayor eric adams as he believes there may have been sent outside agitator same people traveled from outside of the city for this event he's also putting some of the blame on parents. >> and i looked at what happened in union square, the first thing i did was text my son and say where are you? are you in union square? and i wonder what the thousands of children who were there hurling and dangerous objects at police officers, disrespecting the residents in the area, attacking each other company how many parents texted their children? >> kai cenat a social media influence or with more than 13 million filers across all of his platforms announced on instagram the giveaway it would begin at 4:00 p.m. friday in new york city's union square park by 3:00 p.m. thousands had gathered for the giveaway which was supposed to include free playstation fives, webcams, headphones, gift cards other items but instead a ruckus unfolded and no one left with anything but plenty of people were injured in the crowd after being toppled and jeffrey at mandrake with the nypd said officers were also hurt but stayed to try to get the crowd under control. he saw at least four people taken away and ambulances. kai cenat has been charged with inciting a riot in unlawful assembly but could possibly pick face other charges according to police me today mayor eric adam praise nypd forgiven the crowd under control the way officers did. >> a great level of restraints we saw yesterday by the new york city police department, that could have turned really ugly. as i am monitored and communicated with the on the ground teams telling them these are young people. we have to be mindful of that as we bring back order. >> we have reached out to representatives for kai cenat and have not yet heard back, jon. >> alrall right cb cotton, thank you. two u.s. navy sailors are charged with providing sensitive military information to china. the sailors accused of giving the ccp details about wartime exercises, naval operations and other critical technical materials. one of the sailors is based aboard the uss essex in san diego the other based in los angeles. officials say one of them made as much is $15000 in the past year from the scheme but they declined to say whether the two cases are connected. ukraine's president zelenskyy is in saudi arabia this week meeting with delegates from 48 nations aiming to end the war in ukraine. but a representative from russia was not invited to attend. meanwhile ukraine continues as drone strikes against russia. greg appel caught has the latest from kyiv. >> jon, russia firing off more missiles as ukraine pulls a one -- two punch against russia on the high seas. overnight a cargo ship bringing oil from russia to syria was hit by a ukrainian unmanned naval vessel basically an explosive drone of the seas it happened near a key bridge between russian crimea and the mainland. the night before, they g did the same thing this time in a russian destroyer. this apparent response to russia's pull out of the black sea green deal getting food to needy countries that is one of the topics at ukraine's summit and saudi arabia this weekend. ukrainian president zelenskyy has met with crown prince in the past. this latest gathering sees officials from 30 countries including the u.s. but not including russia. trying to reach some understanding about what is happening. as the youngest member of the ukrainian parliament old beyond his 27 years tells us ukraine has to strike russia in any way that it can. >> we see russia attacking our ports and our ships again and again so we answer pre-christmas psychological standpoint are you bringing the war to russia not just the ships, not just crimea but moscow? >> russia by invading ukraine russia, by killing our people has brought this word to them. >> more skirmishing near the black sea. russian fighter jets apparently fending off a u.s. reconnaissance drone it said was string to close to russian airspace. a lot of action in a lot of places, jon. jon: greg appel caught reporting from kyiv thank you. a rescue at sea and a happy ending for men he went missing off the florida coast in a 12-foot boat two days ago. the u.s. coast guard says it found charles gregory in his largely submerged boat 12 miles off saint augusta dehydrated but alive. he was last seen leaving a boat house in saint augusta thursday night produced taken to a hospital to be checked out. as president biden enjoys his delaware vacation, the united states credit rating takes a hit. fitchett rating downgrade the u.s. by a notch we will play with that could mean for your portfolio. plus, washington examiner political reporter sarah bedford wasted on housebound closed-door interview with a key former hunter biden business associate what devon archer calls the biden brand. running this kitchen. (vo) make the switch. it's your business. it's your verizon. this isn't just freight. these aren't just shipments. they're promises. promises of all shapes and sizes. each, with a time and a place they've been promised to be. a promise is everything to old dominion, because it means everything to you. jon: drafted a fact to the judge admit it's good denied for president trump's motion to extend the deadline on his election in meddling case for the former president ordered to respond by 5:00 p.m. monday to a department of justice request for a protective order after mra yesterday if you go after me i am coming after you. trump teams after july the deadline to respond until thursday the judge said motion denied. president biden spent his day and dolindelaware after sons for business associate eight a closed-door interview to a house panel this week. that associate, devon archer said hunter biden used then the vice president to bold in the biden family brand to secure business deals abroad. lucas tomlinson live in wilmington, delaware with the latest, lucas. >> devon archer also testified ukrainian company at burisma where he and hunter biden set on the board together would have gone bankrupt if it were not for the help of then vice president joe biden. democrats review and read the transcript from devon archer very differently. >> there is no question that joe biden is helping his sons business including getting a prosecutor fired to help his son's business. sons business brickwork there's no evidence whatsoever that joe biden is in any way implicated in the mistakes of hunter biden has made. this entire affair is a whopper. >> let's read right from the transfer, jon. this from devon archer to the hospital think burisma would have gone out of business if they did not have the brand attached to it. because people would be intimidated to mess with them illegally. another revelation to come out from devon archer's testimony i tsame day putin invaded crimea n 2014. vice president joe biden the west wing of the white house a year after that, in april 2015 joe biden allegedly dined at café melania act hunter biden's business partners. including a russian billionaire and her husband a former mayor of moscow who many of you viewed as corrupt. the house oversight committee leveled the following accusations against the democratic colleagues on the committee. >> one the one thing that drivee crazy as any time i go down into a skiff and get a briefing from the fbi or any time we do a transcribed interview like we did last week you will either have jamie raskin or dan goldman come out and tell the press complete lies about what we just heard. >> out of both parties are doing this testimony viewed differently. apparently there fbi briefings very differently. jon: more on that in a moment to right lucas tomlinson thank you. so, let's bring in a sarah bradford she's a political investigative reporter at the washington examiner reported yesterday on devon archer calling the democratic claim on the family business dealings quote categorically false. sarah, thanks for being with us. democrats say essentially devon archer exonerated joe biden from any charge he was a meddling and his sons of business or aiding his sons business. republicans say it was pretty much an open and shut case i guess then vice president was misbehaving. how do you see it? >> i think the one thing devon archer said that was so significant was that joe biden was a knowing participant in this for lack of a better word grafted he was running rather on democrats for years have suggested hunter biden was a private citizen he's a lawyer and landed these foreign form contractson his own profes. what devon archer told the house oversight committee as that was not the case. the only thing hunter biden had to sell to these companies was the ability to the vice president on the phone anytime he wanted. these companies show that big bucks for that privilege that it's all hunter biden really brought to the table. joe bided indulge the scheme he met with hunter biden's business partners in person, spoke to them frequently by phone. was clearly aware of what hunter biden was doing. and was willing to at least create a perception hunter biden had access to sell if not offering even more help to these foreign companies that goes against everything the democrats have said about joe biden's involvement in the business for the past three years. jon: for the interesting things he probably told the committee is once joe biden was no longer an office, hunter biden's lucrative deal with the burisma sort of went away or at least his board' his salary was greaty reduced. >> right 201,400 biden joined the board he was making $83000 per month to serve on the board and do very little else than make phone calls to people he knew and washington d.c. and that is according to devon archer break just as those contracts, a lot of them ended or became a lot less lucrative when his father left the vice president office many did not begin until joe biden was in that naval observatory some these llcs through its all this income was routed. many of them were not even incorporated before joe biden took office. it's pretty clear to the extent hunter biden had anything marketable. it was his father's position. think of how far afield we are from i never discussed business dealings with my son. now that we know n nutley to joe biden discuss business dealings with his son but he participated in meetings and conference calls for years. so it is pretty clear joe biden has been very misleading with the american people and he so far has not really answer for that. jon: hunter has never been charged with the foreign agents registration act. paul was convicted, general flynn was convicted of violating ferret restrictions. does this change anything in that regard? >> i think the case with paul in particular is one a lot of critics point to when they are claiming a double standard here. paul was convicted four of violation for very, very similar work that he was doing around the same time in the same country in ukraine he failed to register as a foreign agent sounded hunter biden. many of the people who were working alongside him on the burisma contract in the same types of things making phone calls to the exact same people at the state department according to the e-mails off his laptop they had to register everybody else involved acknowledged the government the work they were doing constituted foreign lobbying. it is interesting to note that when hunter biden face a judge with the plea agreement and the tax charges the whole plea deal started to unravel when the church start asking questions. is it still going to prevent the justice department for moving forward on a potential bearer charges the justice department was a force to say no that could still happen and that is when the whole deal unraveled it's a really significant piece of this. jon: hunter biden's attorneys apparently thought this deal it wasgoing to prevent any future convictions or prosecution. all right, sarah bedford political investigative reporter for the washington examiner, sarah thank you. >> thank you. >> fall out from fitch's decision to knock down america's credit standing print house majority whip financial services committee member tom joins us to talk about that, next. we're traveling all across america, talking to people about their hearts. wh-who wants to talk about their heart! [laughter] well, it's congress and actually it saved us and the debt deal it was not just congress he was kevin mccarthys republican house that did something to the white house never thought could be done, republicans agreed on a debt ceiling proposal and pass it off the house floor. if we had not done that, jon, this a president and this administration would have been willing to go as far as a default to get more spending they are the ones driving the incredible inflation the energy cost and creating this fiscal challenge that if we do not address the spending, jon, we are going to have trouble on the horizon but we have time they just have to start listening to the facts and recognizing and may be acknowledging their policies are having a bad effect. jon: mortgage rates have been inching up since the fitch announcement is not necessarily all because of that. but any time you have instability only treasury bond market that tends to be a problem for mortgage rates. >> well, true but i do not think a member the interest rates have been going up prior to this. i do not think you are going to see a relationship in the short-term u.s. treasuries are still the place where people want to go. you are going to get repaid. but, if we do not start to address the spending the out-of-control spending of this administration we are in for more trouble that is why it is very disappointing that once again we got a president traveling around the country trying to promote 'bidenomics' which has put us in this terrible position for beva treasury secretary that just wants to deny there's any issue that she has to deal with. it is going to be up to republicans to continue to lead on track this administration long, jon. jon: her tongue but forcing cuts in social security benefits perhaps medicaid benefits down the road because this is spending cannot continue the way it is. >> that is what we have warned them about. the sad part is the democrats in this administration have refused to acknowledge we have a spending problem that we have a debt problem that needs to be addressed and it needs to be addressed now. cbo told a joint meeting of republicans and democrats several months ago if we do not start to address the spending problem, you will look back 80 years the debt service in this country, jon, was about $9 trillion if we do not address this and now, in the next 10 years our debt service will be at least $10 trillion. and it is very possible the u.s. would have to borrow money to literally stay afloat in 2032. this is a serious issue. by the way cnn i do not know if you sought, cnn put a poll out this week that americans trust the republicans in the house to actually do what needs to be done. that is going to be the theme as we go forward. if this administration refuses to address what is ailing this country which are there policies their so-called 'bidenomics' which i complete failure they are going to pay for it at the about box next year. jon: have not seen a balanced budget since the clinton administration be nice to see again. congressman tom amer thank you. >> thank you jon. >> facing that world alone americans are in the midst of a loneliness epidemic new report recommends strategies to end their solitude. more on that ahead. gives our strongest hold and 5x food seal. if your mouth could talk, it would ask for... poligrip. there's never a dull moment for the nelsons'... fifth generation montana ranchers. since 1868, they've been... move! riot. good evening i am jon scott and this is the fox report. ♪. jon: more on those stories and a moment. first agents at the southern border of being overwhelmed by a searsurge of migrants seeking u. asylum. an unsettling video is emerging showing undocumented people being held in cages in arizona. christina coleman's life in our los angeles bureau with more on all of that, christina? >> hi jon, yes, despite the sweltering heat there is a surge in illegal border crossings in arizona tucson sector. take a look at this a photo for this photo has surfaced. you see migrants in a fenced in a holding area or as some describe it a cage free spokespersons of customs and border protection just told me this is a temporary outside overflow holding site for migrants but i am told border agents try to transfer the migrants to other locations as rapidly as possible. however these people are steel dealing with triple digit temps for hours at a time on some occasions. a tucson based immigrant advocacy group humane borders is calling for a stop to this. in a statement they said quote it is inhumane to hold people in cages and keep them outdoors for hours during a heat wave. people who are lawfully seeking asylum are suffering and lives are at stake. including small children. we call cbp to cease this practice immediately provide resources for a more humane border. and in a statement on this matter customs and border protection said the u.s. border patrol has a surge of personnel and transportation resources to respond to the increase of encounters in this area. some of the hottest most isolated and dangerous area of the southwest border where individuals have been callously sent by smuggling organizations to walk for miles often with little or no water. meantime some question the bite administration's efforts to get the humanitarian crisis under control. >> this administration when they open the border up they do not realize the cartel is taken advantage of the open border by overwhelming border patrols all these people k now they got all these open alleys where they are trafficking our women and children. [laughter] well, it's congress and actually it saved us and the debt deal it was not just congress he was kevin mccarthys republican house that did something to the white house never thought could be done, republicans agreed on a debt ceiling proposal and pass it off the house floor. if we had not done that, jon, this a president and this administration would have been willing to go as far as a default to get more spending they are the ones driving the incredible inflation the energy cost and creating this fiscal challenge that if we do not address the spending, jon, we are going to have trouble on the horizon but we have time they just have to start listening to the facts and recognizing and may be acknowledging their policies are having a bad effect. jon: mortgage rates have been inching up since the fitch announcement is not necessarily all because of that. but any time you have instability only treasury bond market that tends to be a problem for mortgage rates. >> well, true but i do not think a member the interest rates have been going up prior to this. i do not think you are going to see a relationship in the short-term u.s. treasuries are still the place where people want to go. you are going to get repaid. but, if we do not start to address the spending the out-of-control spending of this administration we are in for more trouble that is why it is very disappointing that once again we got a president traveling around the country trying to promote 'bidenomics' which has put us in this terrible position for beva treasury secretary that just wants to deny there's any issue that she has to deal with. it is going to be up to republicans to continue to lead on track this administration long, jon. jon: her tongue but forcing cuts in social security benefits perhaps medicaid benefits down the road because this is spending cannot continue the way it is. >> that is what we have warned them about. the sad part is the democrats in this administration have refused to acknowledge we have a spending problem that we have a debt problem that needs to be addressed and it needs to be addressed now. cbo told a joint meeting of republicans and democrats several months ago if we do not start to address the spending problem, you will look back 80 years the debt service in this country, jon, was about $9 trillion if we do not address this and now, in the next 10 years our debt service will be at least $10 trillion. and it is very possible the u.s. would have to borrow money to literally stay afloat in 2032. this is a serious issue. by the way cnn i do not know if you sought, cnn put a poll out this week that americans trust the republicans in the house to actually do what needs to be done. that is going to be the theme as we go forward. if this administration refuses to address what is ailing this country which are there policies their so-called 'bidenomics' which i complete failure they are going to pay for it at the about box next year. jon: have not seen a balanced budget since the clinton administration be nice to see again. congressman tom amer thank you. >> thank you jon. >> facing that world alone americans are in the midst of a loneliness epidemic new report recommends strategies to end their solitude. more on that ahead. gives our strongest hold and 5x food seal. if your mouth could talk, it would ask for... poligrip. there's never a dull moment for the nelsons'... fifth generation montana ranchers. since 1868, they've been... move!
