>> that was the moment during the campaign that mcauliffe lost that election saying the parents should not be involved this their children's education. the last thing we need is a marxist system in the public schools. they have this radicaled agenda including critical race theory and gender confusion as young as the age of 5. as the parent of 5 girls i want my children to be critical thinkers and not critical race theory thinkers. it's important for parents to be involved. we found during the covid lockdown parents were able to see what their children were learning. that's when you saw the empowerment and the rise of these parents to take back the education and protect their children. >> lauren, you are a mom. nothing motivates moms and dads more than trying to interfere in their kid's education. in virginia it was a top issue. and glenn youngkin was leading on education. not often you see a republican leading on this issue but it's because of rhetoric like this. >> it's a sea change for the mid-terms elections and what will happen income year. i am a mom of 3. i defer to mercedes because she has 2 more kids and they are older. i have young children. they have no idea on any of these topics. if you are telling a 5-year-old you have to use the friend's bathroom or this is the color of your skin, they have no clue. keep them innocent and young. you don't need to start at such an early age. i am not teaching these issues in my home and i don't want their school too as well. >> yes. david, last segment you said we should go to communities and the republicans should are you pro police? republicans want more police and democrats want fewer police. i think this on issue too there should be a poll taken. people are coming to the republican party because of defend the police and this could be a key issue. >> we don't need to poll test it. we know that the americans favor republican ideas on education for the first time in decades over democratic yesterday. it's why you are seeing in state after state organizations focussed on school board elections. it's happening in colorado. they had a lot of big victories this election and we saw it here in virginia as well. parents are getting active. organizations are focussing on school board elections. the best way to make sure kids are taught the importance of reading, writing and math is putting school board members in place who want policy and focus on that. >> how much is about control?
