>> one thing that is missing, she didn't giggle, she didn't laugh through any of that. i think maybe her biggest problem is joe manchin was president she wouldn't be next in line but when you do this kind of argument that insists you are the vice president and state your name you're losing the argument. this is a fascinating display once again when it comes to temperament, when it comes to having a defense of, she's talking -- has a lot of influence. you can really win and take over this argument when you face and expect that question and handle it with grace and even humor without giggling and own it and push back with confidence as opposed to weird self defense of. alicia: we almost didn't get that answer because her aid jumped in, something was wrong and charlemagne didn't buy it, did he? >> that aid is simon sanders who announced her resignation a couple weeks ago and she jumped in trying to prevent the question from happening. did the vice president no favors but what is profoundly scary, one of the main questions this administration is getting is who is running the country. any other leaders in any advanced countries get asked such a question? anyone else find it disturbing? don't answer that, here's another question being asked, will a ticket the received 81 million votes, the most in us history, are you running for a second term? we see a poll this week, 22% of the country want mister biden to run again. we are not 11 months from the inauguration and the funeral plans are being floated for team biden and inflation at the four your high, that is horrific and skyrocketing violent crime, the border is anything but secure, the perception of the administration, the perception that president biden is too old, too incompetent, this plan is not equipped to be commander in chief. alicia: there are slips and there are slips. in this atmosphere with the president continuing to refer to the vice president as the one in his job, that has got to be concerning. >> when we get to elect our leaders so we know who is in charge or making those decisions, it is a fair thing for a lot of americans to seriously question that not just because of the bizarre things president biden says from time to time, some of these decisions are completely out of touch with what ought to be done and out of touch with reality. earlier today, you made a good point somebody, a very good description but what was in place of it, this business, this idea of snapping at the questioner and accusing the question of being republican reveals not only the testing is on her part in desperation on her part but how out of touch of ar. it is not republicans who are so exercised about joe manchin but kamala harris's own party, the left flank of her own party, joe manchin has taken control of the company and it is absurd, it is 50 some senators who have serious reservations about this wack job proposal the biden administration is putting forward, put inflation on steroids if they go along with it. for her to accuse this guy of being a republican pushing republican talking points, you're concerned about joe manchin. alicia: normally with a man like that either would have spoken to him ahead of time or they wouldn't have known what his attitude or his approach would have been, there would have been no need for miss sanders to stop the interview. it shows you the lack of either professionalism or they expect an interview to be easy but the fact they didn't see this coming is shocking to me considering who they were speaking to. >> for cleanup by the harris team, the covid problem, she said we didn't see delta coming, on advice and direction we relied on, didn't see delta coming, or omicron coming and there is more it in a response to fox news her team said the vice president's comments referred to the mutation, this administration new mutations were possible. it is the reason we ordered extra tests, extra gear and extra ppe. it is reason the president, vice president and the entire administration, early and often, the best way to get on the other side of the pandemic is to get vaccinated. we were and continue to be prepared. one more time with this, they are trying to clean things up at a time when folks are starting to work. tammy: we all make mistakes and can get ahead of our speech but she elaborated when she said they didn't know. she through a variety of people under the touch, with anthony fauci saying the science we relied on didn't know that. make sure why they didn't know, it is a remarkable -- that was the honest answer. it is possible but hard to believe because the average american every year you get your flu shot and you know the virus mutates. what we have to expect, the good news is omicron is a mutation as they do where they get more contagious, killing the host is not a good idea and become looser. we see this trend with generally people know it. this is why americans become afraid. we hear from people, seem to be related to mister magoo and telling us what we need to do in our lives and seeing the backtrack, reverse, clarify and i think that does not engender trust and confidence by the american people. joe: i always tell them when we do homework at home, raise your hand before jumping in. steve: 9 you do that at the dinner table that night? joe: i remember two words that mister biden said, when i heard them at the time, that takes a lot of chutzpah to say and that is stop and control this virus, you elect me i will stop it, i will control it. no human being should make a promise like that but this is the same guy who said elect me and i will find a cure for cancer. what do they say about expectations? make low expectations, and instead i'm hearing about cures for cancer and controlling a virus that will mutate and cannot be controlled and we have more depth under this president than we did the previous year under donald trump and no vaccines at last check in 2020, for the type of therapeutics we are seeing so they know they are failing on this, and in the los angeles times this isn't helping. tammy: diplomatic whiplash from defunding to refunding the police, racing to contain rising crime but is the sudden change of heart too little too late? what is the media's role? what has been the media's role and what have they done to make it worse? joe: the media is a broad word and on the local level you don't see people complaining about the media. opinions are thrown into the reporting. a 30 minute newscast you see every night they are reporting the news. if someone breaks into a story, smash and grab or somebody's murdered or staffed or attacked, that will be presented without opinion, then you get weather and sports and that is the end of your broadcast, local media if you watch it in the cities they have been covering this stuff and covering it well because you don't have the gas bags on the air telling you it isn't happening or people promoting like alexandria ocasio cortez, the congresswoman who denies this is happening despite what you are seeing on screen. even when you try to spin this there are cameras everywhere and social media makes this go viral in a hurry. any politician sees this they can't deny it is happening or downplay it. the images are the images. gavin newsom dropping all this money at the problem now has nothing to do with him morphing into clint eastwood. it has to do with the fact the governor knows how to read polls. when it was fashionable to march with black lives matter or relax bail laws refunding the police newsom and so many others were at the front of the line. they are -- their drinking bases fed up with it. it is time to act like they care about the problem but police forces, talk to cops, they are demoralized across the country. you see resignations going through the roof and criminals and felons are important, too little too late for gavin newsom and other leaders to talk tough because we saw the movie in 2020. charlie: that is a great point. you couldn't have said it better. gavin newsom is no john wayne. has the recovering democrat or liberal, you always have a unique insight into the mind of people. i am not talking about gavin newsom but democrat or liberal leaning voters. do they want this murder and mayhem in their neighborhoods? tammy: obviously not. what is interesting is they believe a lot of that rhetoric was rhetoric for a campaign, that it would never happen. then people vote down the line when they are on the ticket and go about their business but that is the most dangerous thing for politicians to do, to lie to the population and have it become so apparent right away on issues that affect local small businesses, safety of people in their own homes being able to go to a park, these are things they can't lie about. social media, just like at the border, if they keep images away from you they would do but in this case they can't. when you are looking at california and here's what happens when you hear about this, this is an indication of the democratic party nationally realizing this is a terrifying reality and they are going to get blown out next year unless they reversed themselves and it comes down, orders from washington, newsom and london breed don't believe it. this would continue on even with the destruction of the city. it goes down to the background of what i experienced on the left that there is a genuine malevolence for the average americans what toward this country and what we stand for and we've got another year to deal with this but we are making some headway here. charlie: they are wildly out of touch even from their own voters. moving on, are more lockdowns coming? could it be that problematic for them? joe: charlie: we are not 11 months from election. i will be quick. this is one of those moments, fully vaccinated will mean three shots. original two vaccine shots plus the booster in a matter of two months max as these cases continue to go through the roof and we have pfizer's ceo talking a fourth shot already but here's the bottom line is i believe it here. the antiviral pills against covid from pfizer and covid is what we should be focusing on. pfizer saying it is 90% effective in preventing hospitalizations. it is effective against omicron. let's get this on the market not next week, not tomorrow, now. covid is never going to go away. we need to learn to live with it freely and treatments will only be the game changer. tammy: that is what americans want, we take it seriously but we will not be manipulated around politically. thank you, everyone. the fate of biden's progressive agenda is unclear as the senate punts its spending bill into 2022 and even aoc can see the red wave coming next. ♪♪ saturday night ♪♪ that makes it all right ♪♪ yeah ♪♪ d me felt more energy in just two weeks!
