that is not happening. when you think about comments she made during interviews. and she needs to get serious. she has to nail her next couple interviews and then have a political future after the vice presidency. she only has herself to blame. todd: the vice president's job to make the president look good. kamala harris's only job all along has been promoting kamala harris. to that point, tough to become president, 50% of the country, not a big fan of you and you've done nothing over the course of the last 11 months of your time as vice president. >> poll numbers, it is a big issue for happening. do you have any thoughts on that? >> i do know that. i wish there were consequences to help prevent and deter criminals from committing these crimes. carley: you hit the nail on the head. have an apps so any servicemember or veteran can download that apps and use our e-books to make it happen. carley: there are videos that show little kids hugging and screaming daddy when they see their dad starting to read. it must be so fulfilling for you? >> even when you said that i got a little bit teary. it is extremely fulfilling and means so much. such a simple concept what we do but means so much to the children, parents or family member. it means the world to the spouse, the caregiver at home to know their family members thinking of them. it has multiple positive effect on a military family. todd: the visceral reaction carly mentioned. what about other reactions from a soldier and family when you make a connection like this? >> recently a single mom was getting ready to deploy and traveled from california, this was a year and a half ago to florida to leave her one-year-old son while she deployed knowing she would be gone 6 to 8 months. that is tough in itself, it was dissented more than once which is fairly regularly occurrence in the military so didn't see her one-year-old son for a year. she was recording every single week she was gone. when she got home she flew to florida, her mother picked her up with her son in the car and got in the car and said hi. her son recognized, that is because she had done these readings and reading him a book every single night. just as if she were home. they maintain the same routine. >> when serving the country of people want to donate work and they go? >> we serve 2.5 million military family members and 32 years and couldn't do that without two things, financial resources to do it, and awareness. if you know of a servicemember separated from family or national guard and advise them, let them check it out so they they will do is continue to pander to their base. they want to appear like they are trying to energize their base to keep them on board. when you look at what they are doing, they are lying and deflecting. when they lie they are talking root causes, as long as i have been a border patrol agent, they refuse to talk about what is taking place where root causes exist and when they deflect they blame donald trump for everything when in reality donald trump gave them the most secure borders that ever existed. when you look at what they talk about it is nothing but rhetoric. they provide no evidence when we can give evidence after evidence. and and 75%. it worked, that the evidence yet democrats refuse to provide evidence to the american public. >> the dea says the agency has seized 15,000 pounds of fentanyl this year alone. that's enough to kill every person in the country. hugely important issue. how do you fix the problem? >> you can't fix it unless you're willing to address border security at the root level. if you look at everything going on, the cartels and the way the cartels are able to bring people in with impunity and create gaps in that, they are apprehending that fentanyl. we need to get it at the border, not our inner city or suburbs or rural areas. if we don't stop it at the border it will kill more us citizens but that is not going to happen until we take politics out of border security and all law enforcement through the entire united states. >> why are social media apps doing more to cut down on this? this is happening because it is facilitated on the apps? are they in trouble for doing this? >> you would think that. the doj, you've got to look at who is running everything. the department of justice is supposed to be independent from the white house but if they don't do what the white house wants them to do people lose jobs. that's why the department of justice doesn't go after these different apps. the democrats are in bed with large text, they are running these apps, making money, the large text doesn't care about the lowly united states citizen. they care about the bottom line, how much money they make and that's why the doj did not go after the large tech and all these apps that are able to advertise their services which are illegal services and it is killing our children. laura: operation lone star sense members of the national guard to the border to secure it because it is stretched so thin and there are ten civil rights organizations including the aclu asking the doj to investigate program because they say it is unlawful, racist and xena phobic, what is your reaction to this ask from the aclu of texas during civil rights organizations? >> it is so upsetting to me because this is nothing but political theater. i was just in yuma on monday and in yuma i saw several groups of people crossing the border illegally whiter than i am. what texas is doing is going after people equally. people violating trespassing laws, traffic laws, they are not enforcing immigration laws, nor do i advocate them enforcing immigration laws, they are enforcing the laws of their state which they are allowed to do. because this is political theater everybody knows this lawsuit is going to be thrown out. it's not going to go anywhere but the aclu wants to appear they are doing something when in reality all the are doing is pushing courts and stalking courts with cases they don't need. todd: the texas operation is narrowly tailored under the law. they do what they are doing, not abridging on federal immigration law. there is no chance they lose in court but there bringing it to get the attention. appreciate your time, thank you. carley: president biden's winter of death is coming, the president returning to his president biden's military vaccine mandate is putting our national security in jeopardy. >> the commander-in-chief's mission is to have a trained and ready military to defend the nation and fight our wars. the part of the military i'm worried about is national guard also on the front line of covid for the last two years. there vaccine rate is in the 60s. are we going to let go and discharge a third of our entire national guard, tens of thousands of soldiers because they have less than a one% chance of a fatality? >> texas, greg abbott became the seventh republican governor to contradict the pentagon to formally protest the national guard vaccine mandate. big issue here. todd: the take away for me, if you are willing to take a life and death job like being in the military, like being in the national guard and i am not willing to do it but you are i don't care if you are vaccinated, unvaccinated, black or white, man or woman it does not matter to me and it should not matter to the federal government especially when you look at it from the health perspective, the people in our military are some of the most healthy people in the world and when it comes to the omicron variant specifically we are not seeing the death and distraction we saw previously in the pandemic. why can't we keep these people in the military -- carley: global leaders call omicron the greatest threat, there are studies that show it is a cold that affects the upper respiratory, not the lungs and on the military front on the one hand you don't want members of the military to just not follow just because they don't like them and it is mission critical to have our service members as healthy as possible but on the other hand you are right in saying service members are the healthiest among us and i understand why some people don't want to get the vaccine especially when the cdc came out, their confidence in johnson & johnson is not what it was. people will see that headline and go if j and j, we should get pfizer and moderna and not take johnson & johnson, make the vaccine hesitancy that much more. >> the white house accusing the white house of routing for rising inflation, how does this
