a year there's a breakout and there's nothing we can do about it. now you've got a destabilized middle east with nuclear weapons. that's what president trump was so concerned about. >> reporter: even brett mcgerk had said recently, we are still hopeful that diplomacy can find a way but if it cannot find a way we are prepared to use other objections. there is no question, we are not going to allow iran to get a nuclear weapon, period. it looks like iran regional neighbor israel is not going to wait either, with iran ramping up its nuclear capability and getting closer to that breakout point, that's when they can build a bomb, israel has openly said it will take its own measures to stop day p ran. and guys, -- tehran. and even the nuclear watchdog agency is not happy. they've been roughed the entire mainstream media on this. we'll go into the numbers. i'm going to give you a preview. it's zero, nobody in the mainstream media seems to care about this. if this were an attack on our country, i think people would care. you have to keep in mind, china is not our friend, not just our adversary, they are our main enemy right now because of what they can do with everything you just one of his former associates, one of hunter's former associates spoke on condition on anonymity and believe that hunter brought the chairman of this energy consortium to meet president biden, he can would stop to ask pressing questions like specifically what countries instituted travel bans that saw no spike from the del the take vair yantd or any other variant in the past, the answer is there are none because they don't work. todd: there's the underlying hypocrisy comparing administrations. here's a tweet, when president trump took bold action to impose travel restrictions into the united states from coronavirus hot spots, joe biden attacked him calling this decision a disgrace, and that's a question, why is it okay for biden to put in a travel ban but when trump does it it's opec will meet to review the deal they put together earlier this year to boost output, in july they executed a plan to put 400,000 barrels a day into -- back into the global markets, about 12 million barrels a month and that has added 50 billion barrels market since july. you can see why the countries that are producing are going to react to n a announcement coming out of the administration and its allies of reducing crude from other country's reserves. they're going to sit back and they want to see how that's going to impact demand and if so, they're going to probably consider a pause on increasing that production through the rest of that agreement. if they decide to hit pause, then future prices are probably going to be impacted, they could go up more. we assume demand could increase if the recovery continues. given the fact that the cartel has such a huge portion of global supply, this is a battle the biden administration won't win right now. carley: if the countries don't increase oil supply in response to what president biden did, releaseing the 50 million barrels, it goes against what the president wanted to have happen and this could ultimately increase gas prices, am i understanding that correctly? >> you're exactly right. last tuesday the president ordered the release of 50 million barrels from the strategic oil reserve. if i could put that in perspective, as he did that, he assured americans this will have a positive impact at the pump. the result is that six hours after the announcement prices went up. it took a covid variant announcement on friday to have a greater impact on the markets. 50 million barrels sounds like a big number. the reality is, it's one half of one day's global energy consumption, two and-a-half days of u.s. consumption. that's monday at 4:54 a.m., to wednesday at 4:54 p.m., that's all it would impact. the number sounds like a big number but it isn't considering the global market. carley: another thing i wanted to ask you about, the interior department asked the biden administration to increase the cost of drilling on federal lands. do you think the biden administration, president biden is going to go you through with that and what would that do to gas prices? >> well, yes, they're going to go through with that. this has been the plan all along. the reality is, what will happen is it will make domestic production even more constrained, it will move it completely off federal lands. again, it's a counterintuitive move. what this does is essentially devalues the federal asset of oil and gas on federal land. it makes it so hard for companies to produce off of federal lands that they'll move of elsewhere, either with the texas, oklahoma or somewhere else. carley: well, tim -- >> it doesn't have to be this way. carley: you're right. it doesn't have to be this way. it's getting colder and people are concerned about the cost to heat their home. it could go down if the biden administration wanted it to. tim stewart, thank you for joining us this morning. >> thank you very much. todd: coming up in the next hour, we're learning new details about big money payments from the chai tease to hunter biden. -- chinese to hunter biden. joe concha here to break it down. carley: plus carrie severino, claudia tenney on deck this monday morning. ♪ >> we do know that this is a variant that has a lot of mutations, like 50 of them. that is a new record. if omicron is one more wake-up call, then let's wake up. carley: we begin with a fox news alert. we are awaiting remarks from president biden this morning on his administration's response to the new omicron variant. todd: it all comes as travel restrictions for non-u.s.
