i'll pick it up where you left off. i'm laura ingraham and this is the ingraham angle. glenn youngkin has a very big announcement about his race against democrat. he's here exclusively tonight to tell us what it is. a series of elected officials, some men take a tumble and raymond arroyo takes it all. twins exposed and that's the focus of tonight's "angle." dr. fauci like joe biden worked and lived in the d.c. bubble for 50 years? both are elderly fixtures in the washington establishment. both are well-liked by the undelete for different reasons. and both are politically liberal and neither has been held accountable by the press and the significant failures and inadequacies. fauci's been protected by the beltway media for so long, that he equates their approval without the american people. thus anybody who is in throwing laurels on him must be a conspiracy theorist. or just dumb. >> why do you think you have become so controversial and honestly, do you think there's anything you have done that has contributed to that? >> i have stood for, always making science data, and evidence be what we got ourselves five. people who feel differently, who have conspiracy theories, who deny reality that is looking them straight in the eye, those are people who do not particularly care for me. >> laura: you see what he did there? he honestly believes that he's beyond reproach. at the reality that millions disrupted fauci long before covid and for good reason. 40 years ago at the height of the aids crisis, dr. anthony fauci headed the same national institute of allergy and infectious diseases, which he leads today. he also ran the government's aids research program. 1987, he says he was approached by leading aids activist to consider promoting the drug for the preventative medication. despite the pleas from physicians such as dr. joseph donovan who was successfully using facts from the aids patients, fauci declined to act citing the need for an clinical trial. he was focused on the aids vaccine of course which never materialized. 2015 interview, he said that delaying the use of the prophylaxis showed an egregious negligence by perpetrators claiming to protect those with aids. the peoples whose responsibility was to look after them and had compassion or interest. it could have prevented tens of thousands of deaths. he specifically named fauci as one of those perpetrators. now, fauci has been occurring favor since the early days at nih. 2005 book about the eight epidemic shows how larry kramer booked a audience with fauci and if you want an appointment, we do not call the secretary, you call the press officers who booked their talks and interviews like movie stars. you could have easily advocated awareness as a preventative treatment and the fact that the federal aid czar influence is and was infamous. it's the same tony fauci. fast forward. remember, you do. he dismissed promisee therapeutics like hydroxychloroquine despite please from the doctors would use them successfully on thousands of patients. this is across the globe by the way. the fda follow suit. how many lives could have been saved? how many lives do you think could have been saved had people had an open mind about hydroxychloroquine? >> i struggle with that one. i start to think about it. our numbers were staggering were staggering. >> laura: we could have saved 10,000 lives? >> no, more than that. >> laura: 100,000? >> laura, i hate to say things like that, but, yes. >> laura: of course, fauci is the same media hound that he was at 40. whether posing on the cover of people, in style, appearing with celebs and late-night comics. >> they made fun of fauci antics but my birthday in november. >> you're a busy man, i'm always grateful for you taking time. did you get sucked into politics when you talk about the medicine the medicine. >> have you fantasized about dumping a horses head onto rand paul's bed? >> that's hilarious. >> laura: if flip flopping was olympic sports he would've been the most decorated athlete in the history of the game. he lost credibility with the public long ago not because people disliked him personally, right wing nut jobs, but because he regularly swims in a sea of contradictions. from the use of masks, the danger of covid in children, to football games becoming super-spreader events. >> i thought covid's about to have a feast. >> i thought the same thing. it's unfortunate. but it never happened. corporate cases and hospitalizations and deaths now down in every football state across the south were florida even hospitalizations held 64% last month with 90,000 fans packed in the gator stadium. >> laura: thumbs up for nbc for acknowledging that. let's not forget that fauci praise health care workers as he should have, when at the same time going on to 4,000 off the job by enforcing a vaccine mandate. he repeatedly refused to recognize what's been borne out by research. the robust and durable natural immunity. enjoyed by those previously infected. our media, they have given fauci a pass on all of this and a lot more. simply because they prefer him to the political figures criticizing. an intellectual mission compared to fauci, joe biden had been propelled by pretty much the same forces in the d.c. swamp. corrupt u.s. media ignoring his efficiencies and declining mental acuity. the political system that awards time served over result in marriage. for decades, everybody in the know in d.c. knew that biden was not particularly smart or clever. for as long as i can remember and i've been in washington for a long time, biden's reputation was always sides of an all-around hands a goofball. one that's been elevated way beyond his ability and propelled by his own incompetency. with fauci, there's plenty of reasons to believe that biden is somewhat compromised by old relationships with china. the press and big tax, they worked overtime to deep six the hunter laptop story from the 2020 campaign. just as they largely ignored fauci's connection to chinese medical researchers. now, neither has been aggressive, we know that and denying chinese transparency on the origin of covid. why? the press doesn't really care at this point. the fact that the w.h.o. seems more focused on the china cover-up question than the biden administration. it tells you all you need to know here. compare how biden and fauci talk about republican governors who decline covid mandates, to how they speak of the ccp. >> the chinese scientists we dealt with, i have dealt with myself over the years if not decades, i have faith that they are not distorting things. >> i've told president xi myself. i'm not looking for conflict. if these governors will not help us be the pandemic. i will use my powers, though mike to get them out of the way. >> politics still trump the science. you look for an instance of the governor of florida. >> he feels vaccines are not important for people, that there are important for some people. that's completely incorrect. >> laura: republican governors are never acting in good faith while china is given the benefit of the dealt with the swamp twins. the press themselves, come on. at the any semblance of objectivity covering any of this. those journalists working as de facto surrogates for the democratic party and those big tech ceos that block free expression to protect them, landed us in that mess we are experiencing today. fauci enforced logons and mandates, we have thrown the economy into inflation with reckless spending and anti-oil and gas policies. think about this, independent media, they wouldn't stand by day after day with the president refusing to answer questions being ushered out of the room. they would be demanding answers. if not stuck in a january 6th time warp like they are today. in every way, trump and his cabinet ready anticipates of the swamp twins. most were newcomers who did not want to work fuel system, they were going to blow it up figuratively because they knew that the old system was not working the american people. now the swamp twins are back in charge. they use the pandemic to kate terrorizing control the population wasting billions in federal funds and keeping the panic going. there is one quarantine that i'm anticipating. a permanent quarantining of these two. that's "the angle." let's bring in tonight's medicine cabinet joining me now, dr. peter mccullen, dr. jay by jay bhattacharya stanford university professor of medicine. starting with io, what do you make of fauci's reaction to criticism after he has been so wrong and so contradictory on so many issues over the last 20 months? >> criticism and science in my field is common. we accept his skepticism and it's heavy basically welcomes. again, hefty in discussions especially when we are facing emerging problems. americans need to see is themes of doctors not one individual, nih, we need teams of doctors, treatment experts, vaccine safety and efficacy experts and those who have competencies and expertise and in-hospital care in order to bring the pandemic to a close. it cannot be done by one person alone. certainly not one person and his level of competence. >> laura: new research guys out of the u.k. found that people who previously recovered from covid-19 were about 71% less likely to contract it a second time. it represents about the same level of protection the study found was offered by two doses of the vaccine. i should note that the institute compiled 81 of the research studies finding the same periodf doctor, how much of the compendia of studies or new studies before they medical leadership in the country starts taking natural immunity seriously? my goodness. >> it's remarkable to me. what we have is an institutional led by dr. fauci. he was in charge of the science of funding and immunological research and denied natural immunity which we have known -- we have known about it for quite a long time with this. the evidence is mounting but we knew it one year ago. the fact is that we have so many people forced out of their jobs from vaccine mandates who do not acknowledge natural immunity. nurses who got covid during the last year were covered. i'm quite immune. immune. if dr. fauci to deny it. it's amazing to me. >> laura: there's the issue of the that the j&j vaccine, fauci was on abc yesterday. he was addressing the effectiveness of the j&j covid shot. take a look. >> dr. fauci, the advisory panel recommended booster doses for the j&j vaccine. should the 15 million people who got vaccines be concerned given the recommendations? >> laura: no, not at all. i think they should feel good about it because what the advisors to the fda felt is that given the data that they saw, very likely, they should have been a two dose vaccine to begin with. >> laura: dr. mccullen, i heard that -- i heard it this morning. he just casually throw set out. i guess it should have been a two dose. what? people listening to that are more confused than ever. they told us one shot was enough. now it should have been two shots and you can mix the shots up apparently. am i missing something here? speak of what are missing is data with the delta variant. the j&j application only had 4% of cases with delta. all the data they are relying on in the second j&j sean has to do with the legacy variance. also, beta, gamma, these are extinct now. we've had no significant insurances with any of the vaccines that they provide adequate coverage. only 4% delta is not enough. >> laura: back to your point, dr. bhattacharya about the mandate pushing people out of the edge though mike judge, the hospital recently forced out 100 50 employees for not being faxed. if here's how the ceo spun it. >> that's a great this appointment that even within the hospital system and the signs we believe in firmly, we were not able to move the opinions of the individuals to the right place. it really shows how strong the misinformation campaign is. >> laura: dr. bhattacharya, no mention of the employees who quiets had natural immunity. nothing. basically saying it's a messaging problem and misinformation problem. >> i mean come on when you basic scientific facts like the people who recovered from covid, have better community than people in were vaccinated, you can a brief distrust. when leaders of the scientific communities and communities deny the basics facts, you should not be surprised when people start disbelieving you. they're starting to make excuses like that, the nurses and the doctors that they hired our science deniers, it makes no sense. i think really we need an absolute revamping of the scientific community and the public health community. we need to look at it in the mirror and say what have we done wrong? >> laura: no, dr. mccullen, chomping at the bit and obviously you're from texas. you know the medical system very well. i've got to get your quick thoughts on that. >> briefly, you know, those who are covid recovered and completed immunity, they are the best employees to have. more vaccinated health care workers getting delta than unvaccinated. >> laura: we have people with breakthrough infections with the double and vaccinated it, those that are immunocompromised like obviously the late colin powell was who lost his battle yesterday. it's happening all over the country unfortunately. gentlemen, great to have you both on tonight. thank you. kamala harris violating federal law in an effort. if jonathan truly has answers and speaking of virginia, glenn youngkin has a big announcement tomorrow. he is next with a preview. musical musica d records... after age 65, without a serious support system. kathy martin has one in medicare from blue cross blue shield. she won't go a day without the right card. because she can't go a day without running. the medicare coverage trusted by more doctors. this is the benefit of blue. find your local blue cross and blue shield plan at benefitofblue.com hey i'm joe montana. find your local blue cross and blue shield plan when you get to be our age, you have little patience for nonsense and inefficiency. after years of practice, you become a pro at pretty much everything. so when i qualified for medicare, i got with wellcare. wellcare is no nonsense. they're pros at putting everything together to make things easier. their plans include things like prescription drug coverage dental, vision, and hearing coverage. it just makes sense. ♪ ♪ yeah. do you want a medicare advantage plan that just makes sense?
