>> thank you very much. i think it's partly because we are listening to what people are saying in my county, jasper county, in iowa. think there's kind of a disconnect of what's happening here and what people think is important with what's happening in washington d.c. right now and as a people want someone who will give them a seat at the table come give them a voice and not always be told what they should think of, what they should believe and even what bills they will hopefully appreciate someday in the future that you see happening in washington right now. >> expand upon that a bit. you are unsuccessful in getting this essay in 2020, so this is your second attempt. congratulations for winning it, but what you think changed in the last year? what do you think is so important to people right now that it changed their mind and that time? >> absolutely. i think it was building. no one thought i even stood a chance in 2020. we came very close to unseating a strong income but i'm a democrat who had grown up here and lived here and was part of the community so i think it's the continual message that we are listening to you. we go out there and door knock and hear stories about voters and we also had a very strong legislative session in which republicans had the opportunity to say hey, we heard what you have been saying and we enacted those things you thought were important and i think people want more of that. >> sounds like a resounding-- you are about 60%, your opponent 40%. this is a democrat district for decades. do you think this a win is a bellwether for republicans winning big, not just in iowa, but the midterms in 2022? >> absolutely. i think what you saw happen here in jasper county is exactly what's happening across the country. people are frustrated. people are disappointed. people keep seeing messes everywhere they feel like no one is listening to them. they have the few telling them many what they can and cannot do, so we will continue in iowa, continuing jasper county working on the agenda we bully people have given to us and we will continue to enact them and make life better here and across the nation and we have to stop some of the craziness we have-- we see happening in washington d.c. >> if he could, what are the fiercest-- first few things you would want to change?
