[laughter] listen, in that cold open you probably saw all the close to 2,000 southwest flights were canceled. this morning i went to the "dallas morning news" web site to see, to read more about it, and i saw this story. and it's so extraordinary, i figured we've got to tell you about it. the headline is how could the mass migration of haitians to the southern border have been a surprise? 15,000 people under that bridge, some say their arrival seem ised more like a coordinated effort to the ease the overwhelming number of migrants at mexico's southern border. so in other words, and they talked to about a dozen people on the record, but they did not use their names because they were not authorized to speak. and it sounds like in the southern border of mexico where all those people are from guatemala and from haiti this particular just before they amassed under that bridge, nobody was allowed to move for weeks. and then suddenly 250 buses just showed up and carted everybody off. and they said, and the "dallas morning news" said the only way, these experts are surmising is if it were coordinated. and mexico denies it, but they say at the same time some corruption could be involved. do ya think? rachel: also mexico's former immigration chief, she is what she -- this is what she said. this is such a complex operation on a grand scale that we all saw it didn't happen by chance. you're talking 200-250, maybe more buses. you can't do that without having an organized structure. i don't know whether the authorities were indifferent, just didn't care or just looked the other way, it's hard to see how this operation happened with -- i'm sorry. steve: that, to me -- rachel: i'm sorry, without authorities knowing about it or being caught off guard. that, to me, is obvious. first of all, that doesn't surprise me at all. there has been -- this entire southern border disaster of people coming across the border has always seemed deliberate to he -- steve: yeah, but to see it happen so suddenly, 250 buses just show up and they cart everybody off if from mexico's southern border to get them out of mexico's hands? rachel: remember, steve is, it wasn't long ago that we saw many of the migrants wearing biden t-shirts. biden, let us in t-shirts. a lot of people are wondering, who was passing out these t-shirts to all the migrants that were, you know, coming across -- steve: we still don't know. rachel: our press is not interested. brian: right. do you switch that because you know exactly who's letting you in, you can't say messaging of the biden administration is not getting through. they're wearing your t-shirts, you campaigned on this. so what's so aa hazing is we had the homeland security secretary as well as secretary of state go into mexico city and the attorney general but not the vice president. the vice president who's got the title of handling the border, she quickly said i don't want to handle the border, i want to go to the root causes. this is one of the root causes, mexico. now mexicans are actually coming in again, and where's the vice president? let's go live. okay, not live, but on tape when she should have been live many mexico city. listen to what she was doing. >> just think about so much that's out there that we still have to learn. you guys will love that. i'm very excited about space. we're going to learn so much as we increasingly, i think, are curious and interested in the potential for the discoveries and the work we can do in space. so that's one of the things i'm most excited about. but the other, you guys are going to see, you're going to see the craters on the moon with your own eyes. with your own eyes, i'm telling you. it is gonna be unbelievable. brian: right. steve: so excited. rachel: i thought it was an snl clip. what's going on? this is so crazy with all these giant problems that are happening in america, and she's having, like, a little sit-down with kids -- brian: the comment about the whipping incident, the so-called whipping incident. by the way, they're still investigating that incident because nobody did anything wrong. steve: well, she is the chairman of the national space council, and she appeared in that thing where they talk about space. she's being ridiculed because it's like she wants to go to space but doesn't want to go to our southern border. rachel: right. [laughter] steve: just going back for a second about how the coordinated effort to get 20,000 people from southern mexico up to del rio, texas, think about it. so who gets paid every time a migrant comes across? rachel: the cartel. steve: absolutely. if there was some coordination, it was probably like cartels going, you know what? let's just hire 250 buses, we'll get 'em across the u.s. border, and we'll get paid. rachel: right. because the cartels under the biden administration are really in charge of our borders. our border patrol is completely -- steve: sadly, that's true. rachel: it's absolutely true. and, again, we talk about not just the, you know, lack of security for our country, what we're seeing right now in afghanistan with what happened, our generals are saying, hey, listen, terrorism's going to be on the rise here, we have an open border. but also look at what's happening to these people. most of these people will end up as indentured servants to the cartels if they haven't paid off what they owe to get them off that bus and across border. many people are dying coming from colombia with, many haitians will die, we won't even hear about it, children abandoned in the desert, human trafficking, sex trafficking, child trafficking. this is an absolute human catastrophe. and, you know, our vice president is, you know, talking about moon craters with, you know, kids. it's just unbelievable. brian: and they officially canceled the contracts to build the boarer wall. the money -- border wall. the money had been put aside, and there's, of course, buyouts and payouts to the contractors. so it's a lose-lose for everyone. even in the so-called bipartisan infrastructure bill, there's no money for the border. rachel: that sounds like a great infrastructure job, doesn't it? building our wall? brian: joe biden was for it in 2006, votedded for it. steve: moving on to the schools, it was just last week when the department of justice and merrick garland said that the fbi would investigate any parents who go crazy at school board meetings and violence and things like that. you know, violence is terrible, but usually it is handled by the local police. you don't call in the feds. rachel: and there's been no violence, steve -- steve: there have been some instances where people have gotten socked, people didn't like -- there was an incidence, i believe, in ohio where an agitated parent socked a school board member in the face and stuff like that. it's limit are, but nonetheless, the feds are on the case. so yesterday a couple of my neighbors who are running for school boards, they stopped by the house, and they were just talking about -- they're lobbying, do you have any ideas what's going on in schools, and for 20 minutes they listed everything going on. brian had a woman with -- had an interview with a woman where in pennsylvania now schools will be required to post the curriculum online so that parents see what is being taught. that sounds pretty good to a lot of people because in our town we don't really know what's being taught. not the case in pennsylvania. rachel: yeah. usually the way you find out what your kids are being taught is you're sitting around the dinner table or you're in the car and they say something. you're like, what? really it's gotten to the point where parent literally have to talk to kids about what they're being taught because, you know, we're not getting just reading and writing and math. they're getting a lot of indoctrination, and this is why parents are fighting back. meanwhile, our doj is saying, well, we don't want parents, you know, sticking their nose in the business of -- yeah, don't get mad. if you do, we're going to call you a domestic terrorist. here's mark levin blasting the doj and merrick garland over that very controversial memo he put out. >> the bill of rights is under attack by the attorney general of the united states, merrick garland, and his staff. and now we've learned it's also under attack by joe biden's staff as well as others at the white house in a coordinated attack to try and silence parents and taxpayers, the citizens of this nation who elect their school boards, who send their children into these classrooms. why? if we start our children off and we tell them all the bad things about somebody is telling them all the horrible things about us, they never learn to love us and then eventually accept that we have our faults. this is what is happening to our children right now. our children are being taught that our country is terrible, it's racist, it's irredeemable. and, of course, as they get older, they're not going to love our country and accept its faults in the9 way that you do with parents. this is very dangerous stuff. we're teach teaching children to hate our country, to distrust each other, to hate themselves if they're white. this is a poison, just as mark levin said. steve: miranda devine wrote an op-ed today in "the new york post," it's fantastic. critical race theory and what is being taught in the schools will probably be the most impactful issue facing the midterms, and what she said was, you know, what was merrick garland thinking to poke mama bear?
