On the one hand, you have got authorities searching for Gabby Petito out west, and now you have several agencies searching for her boyfriend Brian Laundrie who investigators fear could be in danger. The Police Department tells us about 50 officers including fbi agents are on the ground conducting this search. They spent most of the day looking for brian in a 25,000 acre wooded area, known as the vast carlton reserve. Authorities say its a place his family says he goes to often. Now, jon, the news about Brians Disappearance Wasnt really known to anybody outside of the family until friday evening. Officers showed up to the Laundrie Residence and spoke to the family At Their own request. It was At ThAt Time when officers learned that brian had been missing since tuesday. Were told investigators took some things from the home, Hoping Search Dogs will help pick up on his scent. As for Gabby Petito, and the investigation into her disappearance, police say the Laundrie Family is still silent about whAt They may or may not know. What i know is thAt They did not share any information about gabby or that situation or what brian shared with them about that situation. Their focus with their attorney on the phone was information to us to help us locate their son. And while the fbi, local police, and more are trying to find brian, Gabby Petitos family is less concerned. Her parents push back saying it is important to make this clear, quote, all of Gabbys Family wants The World to know that brian isnt missing. Hes in hiding. Gabby is missing. This as questions continue to mount in the North Port community about why brian returned home from that Road Trip out west he and gabby had went on together, and why hes refused to speak to investigators. Its inevitable. He has to come out. He has to say what happened. He has to tell people what happened. And jon, police are not considering Brian Laundrie right now a suspect in this case. It is more than 300,000 acres of mixed terrain that Park Rangers are reportedly searching through. The Denver Fbi also tweeting today that jackson police are conducting Ground Surveys in the area that are wrote relevant to the investigation of gab that are quote relevant to the investigation of gabbys disappearance. Gabbys father blasts brian and his family who refuse to talk to police. This type of behavior is cruel. It is heartless. Thousands of tips have been pouring into investigators, including a Shop Owner in victor, idaho, near the Wyoming Border who according to the East Idaho News saw both Gabby And Brian in her shop, the rustic row on either August 25th or 26th. The numbers of migrants currently under that international bridge behind us have just continued to skyrocket, in Law Enforcement and Border Patrol are now having to surge their resources down here to Del Rio in a major way to deal with it. Lets show you what it looks like. Take a look At This video our drone Crew Shot earlier today showing the remarkable scene underneath that bridge. At last count, Law Enforcement sources telling me close to 15,000 migrants are underneath that bridge, after crossing into the united states illegally from mexico. Why that number is so remarkable is because on wednesday morning, there were just about 4,000 there, so you think about it, just in the span of a few days or so, we have almost quadrupled the number of migrants underneath that bridge. They are still coming. Most of them are from haiti. More are starting to show up from africa. Local Law Enforcement sources tellings us there have been some from telling us there have been some from angola, ghana, senegal, coming from All Over The World and almost no room left underneath that bridge. They are building tent structures, structures out of sticks and leaves. It is getting out of control. Take a look At This second piece of Video Exclusive to Fox News. We got an exclusive Boat Ride to the Rio Grande Today where we got to witness literally all day long a constant mass of migrants streaming across the Rio Grande and entered the united states illegally. That shoreline you see has a Dirt Road that connects right to where the bridge is, so they all walk right over to that international bridge, and i kid you not, we saw this happening literally all day long, with no breaks. There was constantly a stream of people coming down from that neighborhood, and thats why it is such a problem At The bridge. You have 15,000 people under there now. It doesnt matter how many people Border Patrol tries to take out with buses, they cant replace them fast enough because of the people coming over from mexico. The Port Of Entry off to our right has been closed down to legal migration, american workers wanting to go into mexico, mexicans wanting to come into the u. S. Legally. They cant do it anymore. They instead have to be diverted 57 Miles East of us to eagle pass, texas. When we left our Hotel Room today, the front desk told us several of their house keepers couldnt get to work today because they need that bridge to cross over. A local congressman, representative Tony Gonzales is reporting that Grocery Stores out here in Del Rio, tiny community starting to run low on food and some local restaurants out here have now been asked by the federal government to close down early and start making meals for the migrants underneath that bridge. The Fda Advisory Panel rejecting Booster Shots for most americans yesterday, citing a lack of evidence thAt Theyre needed. The panel recommending boosters only for those over the age of 65 and those at high risk. Mark meredith has reaction from the administration. More than 180 Million people in this country are already fully vaccinated against coronavirus, but health officials have been so worried about the variants in these virus still getting people sick even if they are vaccinated, so weve seen a lot of people pushing these Booster Shots, a third dose that would help provide some added protection, but as you mentioned yesterday, this Fda Advisory Panel, who is reviewing all the data, they decided thAt These Booster Shots would not be needed for most people. I just dont think were there yet in terms of the data. Other Committee Members have pointed out, more needs to be known about the protection. This Booster Dose is not going to make a big difference. Its not likely to make a big difference in the behavior of this pandemic. So the panel recommended instead americans who are 65 years or older, those that are also at severe risk of getting ill thAt They should take this booster shot. The Fda And Cdc are going to weigh again with a final decision next week. Now the White House had announced several weeks ago it had been working to get these boosters up and running ready to roll them out once they were approved. We got a statement from the White House last night in which it says this was an important step forward in providing better protection to americans from covid19. We stand ready to provide Booster Shots to eligible americans once the process concludes, At The end of next week. But the president was even criticized by some of these fda scientists accusing the White House of basically trying to dictate the policy of the fda when it came to boosters, even a few officials decided to resign from their Government Post over all this. The president s also been facing growing political pressure from republicans across the country when it comes to these vaccine mandates. He says the governments ready to roll this out within a matter of weeks and months, but we have seen a number of lawmakers saying they are going to push back, challenge these mandates in court. It could complicate the administrations efforts to get those mandates sooner rather than later. We are expecting the president to talk about covid next week. Hes going to be going up to the u. N. General assembly, making his first speech there since taking office, and covid is expected to be a major focus of his comments. Jon . Jon Mark Meredith live in delaware, thank you. From what i have read, doctor, you think the fda made the right call here. Thats right. You know, they found insufficient data in the younger population, and in people over 65, there is some data now thAt The booster does reduce the risk of significant illness, severe illness and hospitalization, but i think it is important for people to be careful with the language. The idea that you need a booster or have to get a booster or are required to get a booster, thats not correct terminology because the relative Risk Reduction is mild, and it starts from an already very low Risk Level that you have against severe illness understand you have once you have the standard vaccine regimen. Jon why was the White House pushing this booster for millions of americans . Pharma convinced the White House to purchase 400 Million doses in anticipation of boosters. They basically said people are going to need boosters without the data. Well, the government agreed, and they have 400 Million dollars prepurchased with Government Tax dollars. Thats more than the number of people in the united states, and the Fda Expert Panel basically voted a vote of protest, and it was against the political pressure thAt The fdas been under saying thAt Theres insufficient data. Jon it sounds like this is a case where the science is actually winning out over the politics. It is an inspiring moment for science to see scientists push back and say look, this is not the way the process works. You dont buy the vaccine, tell us it is going to be needed and prepare the public and create this expectation without the data being there. My fear, jon, is that its distracting from our message right now, where weve got to be united and let nonimmune adults, adults without Vaccination Immunity or natural immunity to get vaccinated quickly as delta rips through that segment of the population. Those are the people dying right now. Jon as you all know, Joe Biden ran for president saying he had a plan to beAt The coronavirus. It sometimes seems like the administration is just kind of winging it. Well, it has been very frustrating to see mistake after mistake distracting from our main message. For example, the massive battle thats ensued over Cloth Mask in 5yearolds. Again taking us off the message that we have a tool to reduce covid from a serious public Health Threat and down grade it to a mild common cold like illness. You say this, american Public Health agencies should be producing data on breakthrough infections, boosters, and national immunity natural immunity. The Cdcs Failure to report meaningful data has left policymakers flying blind, in the absence of good data to answer the basic questions americans have been asking. Political opinions have filled the vacuum. Strong data might have prevented much of the polarization over covid. You see that. I mean, there are people who are virulently antivaccine and other people who say you dont get the vaccine you are threatening my life. It is very sad to watch the politicalization of this infectious disease. People are not speaking to each other. Livelihoods are being ruined for no good reason. People are being kicked out of their jobs because they have natural immunity, and the government inexplicably does not recognize it. Why is all of the good research coming out of israel . Democrats could use revenue from new citizens as new taxpayers to cover the cost of the bill. But some republicans think the democrats effort to wedge immigration into the bill shows desperation. I think it speaks to their lack of seriousness at dealing with things like the border crisis. The splashdown i mean, the takeoff, the launch of a rocket is always a very harrowing time, but the landing, you know, the Deorbit Burn, the high temperatures encountered as it comes through the earths atmosphere, that is all Highstakes Stuff too. Its just that we dont get to see it as well as we do the liftoff. Thats correct because transmission is not easily transmitted when it is coming down because of the atmospheric effects that go on during the landing process, so but the astronauts as clayton will tell you they surely know whats going on. Jon so clayton, what are they doing . Whats going through their minds, and, you know, how much of this are they actually controlling . And how much are they just kind of Along For The Ride . I think from my understanding, theyre mostly Along For The Ride. I know they will displays up thAt They will be able to monitor and make sure thAt Things are going as planned, but having not trained on their vehicle, im not quite sure how intimately theyre involved with the actual systems of the vehicle. On the shuttle, i came home on mid deck one time and on the Flight Deck the second time, and you are much more involved on the Flight Deck monitoring systems and watching for errors or issues that could crop up because you have to help the rest of the crew solve the problem. I think with the Space X Crew dragon, it is pretty automated. It is pretty planned out, and they are mostly Along For The Ride. Jon staying with you, clayton, for the moment. I mean, you know, the Space X Dragon capsule has not been without its problems. There were a couple of Launch Pad explosions that were pretty spectacular. This business of going to space is, you know, it can seem routine, but theres always an element of risk here, and were going to see thAt Tonight. Yes, for sure. If you think back to columbia, most of us at nasa felt that entry was the easy part; right . Launch was the difficult part. We had challenger occur back in 86, and so that was the thing we worried about. Once we got past a certain point, everybody breathed a big sigh of relief. Columbia came along and we had the issue there. Nothing is really certain until they hit that water. Even then they need to be floating safely and able to be picked up by their pickup group. So, you know, Space Flight theres three ds of Space Flight, difficulty, dangerous, and dollars. We have to keep those in mind, especially the dangerous part. These are people with families, and the goal here really has been heartwarming. I think youve probably seen the footage of the interactions thAt This crew has had with children in the hospital. I mean, its been a Fundraising Campaign for st. Judes, 200 Million Dollars has been the goal. And theres been all kinds of interaction from them there.
