The democrats have a stranglehold on california but of all the things you just mentioned, they have both houses in the statehouse, both chambers. Think every major statewide office and you think why . Highest taxes, highest gas prices, highest homelessness rate, highest. Yet they are in power. It will take on monumental movement to get them out of power. Trace, this is what is so exciting about the recall campaign. I think it galvanize the movement and i have been here since 2012, nearly ten years. Ive never seen such energy behind the political movement as we have seen the last few months behind this recall. Its a beautiful state. We love it. Its incredibly special place. For a long time but have been able to put up with the appalling, disastrous governor, complete mismanagement of every single aspect of running a state, whether housing, homelessness, schools. Not a single thing they have done well. Yet people have kind of put up with it because its so beautiful to be here. But its so bad now, drive around everywhere, not just central l. A. And San Francisco. You can see the disaster of the Homelessness Crisis which is really an untreated Mental Health crisis. People are leaving because i cant afford to live. They cant pay the taxes. Businesses are leaving. The reality of the incompetence and the cruelty, its catching up with them. Thats what has galvanize this movement. Whatever happens the result tonight, its going to go on, this movement. Thats why ive started this podcast, California Rebel based. Theres a lot of rebels in the state. Not just republicans. Democrats, independent voters are sick and tired of it. We may not get all the way there tonight with the Recall But Change is going to come in the Governors Office come in the State Legislature, in the district attorneys offices. Big cities like l. A. And San Francisco. You have these people on the side of criminals, not victims and regular lawabiding people. Wherever you look, people want change and its going to happen one day. He hasnt done anything wrong. Its a cynical effort by the republicans because they dont have the numbers. This is their only way to try to get the governorship. They think, are we assuming that the state is just going down the tubes . Thats whats hilarious. If you want to take that phrase, you can apply to exactly whats going on, whats being done by the democrats. The reality is so disastrous. So i think, thats why its not just the recall elections going all out all over the state. San francisco. They are recalling the School Board. Do you remember the School Board in San Francisco that was renaming the schools instead of reopening the schools . Theres a Recall Effort. You were talking to tonya owen, fantastic. She is leading the effort to recall George Gascon in Los Angeles. Up and down the state, people are saying no, we do want a way to get away from this appalling democrat incompetence. As we said earlier, we knew that this was going to be the early totals and some of these large counties that came in, like Los Angeles county. Up in the bay area. Our assumption and with the pundits were telling us is that as the night goes on youre going to get some of the leader votes and youre going to get some of the votes from the areas like fresno and bakersfield. Other counties and some of these areas that have more conservative areas. As you get closer to the Nevada Border and you move up the state, we are still waiting for those with the Associated Press and other networks have now decided its not going to be enough. Its not going to be enough and Gavin Newsom will retain his position. This is kind of what we are building up to because Gavin Newsom and the democrats were very confident the fact they believe they were going to end this and we expected Gavin Newsom will be speaking any moment now. When he does get to the podium, we will take it life. I want to bring in Steve Hilton. The measure, not saying its not going to get closer but the fact that its as wide as it is, does it surprise you that the democrats were able to paint this whole Larry Elder movement as trumpism and apparently resonate . Noel. They had so much financial advantage from the corrupt donations that they get from the government unions, the Big Money donations. They have unlimited fundraising wheres the republican candidates had limits on their fundraising. They had the money, the organizing muscle. Voter registration means that they have a massive inbuilt advantage. If this result is borne out to be true. We have no reason to doubt it, then its a really said day for everyone in california. Every parent who wants their child properly educated. Everyone who wants safety on the streets, every school Business Owner who wants to grow their business without the horrendous taxes and regulation. Everyone who wants to see a cleaner, better environment. Its bad news for all those people. However, as i was saying earlier, this whole Recall Effort has galvanized people Up And Down the state. Republicans, democrats, independents, to say we have had enough of the failure and the incompetence and the arrogance of the Cruelty And Hypocrisy of these democrats who havent faced a challenge for so long. The movement has grown. Its not unexpected that it was too much to expect it to happen in one step, one night. Its going to happen. The revolution is going to happen in california. You cant get away with this level of incompetence that we have seen from the Democrat Oneparty rule in this state without facing real change and accountability. It is going to come. You go after Gavin Newsom in 2022 . I think Larry Elders star is brighter than ever on the republican conservative side of the aisle. Hes become a national figure. Hes had a very successful radio talk show. Republicans and conservatives need to continue to talk about the issues. They need to talk about why their policies are better and smarter. Not fall into the trap which Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden and everybody used as a tool to try to bludgeon people and make it about a specific Skin Color or make it something other than the issues. Thats what was disgusting about What Newsom did. He took gobs of money. He had a really fancy sign, well late in. He didnt go out there and talk about issues. Issues are what prevail. Trace if The End of the night comes in this thing ends up closer to 6040, 24 republicans in the state of california. Our democrats concerned . Is there a meeting of the minds down the line saying you know what, we are doing something wrong . I dont think so. At least not so far. There will be a lot of examination about the Recall Process in california. Which cost upwards of 300 Million to do something that seems like quite a futile exercise. Democrats are feeling pretty good about this. To the point about republicans trying to spin this as Larry Elder made himself a national figure, Et Cetera, Et Cetera. Democrats kind of took it on the chin and took it like the proverbial men that we are, some of us are, in the 2020 election. Admitted that we lost in the bedrooms and talked about changing in voting patterns. We said yes to ending this pandemic. We said yes to peoples rights to vote without fear of Fate Fraud or voter suppression. We said yes to womens fundamental constitutional right to decide for herself what she does with her body, her fate and future. We said yes to diversity. We said yes to inclusion. We said yes to pluralism. We said yes to all those things that we hold dear as californians and i would argue as americans. Economic justice, Social Justice, racial justice, environmental justice. Our values where california has made so much progress. All of those things were on the ballot this evening. I am humbled and grateful to the millions and millions of californians that exercise their fundamental right to vote and express themselves so overwhelmingly by rejecting the division, by rejecting the cynicism, by rejecting so much negativity that has defined our politics in this country over the course of so many years. I just think of our kids watching all of this. Nightly news. Day in and day out. I just wonder. Ive got four young kids. The oldest is about to turn 12 this weekend. And what they are growing up too. A world where we are so divided. These kids are increasingly fearful, isolated, disconnected. We are teaching them not. It doesnt have to be that way. I think we owe our kids a deeper sense of respect and all of us as adults, responsibility to disregard this false separateness. We are so much more in common as estate and a nation that we give ourselves credit for. I have been all over the state of california over the last many years but notably the last nine months. Conservative parts of the state, Progressive Parts of the state. Folks that i knew were going to vote no and folks that i knew were going to vote yes. One thing thats universal. Everybody wants to be respected. Everybody wants to feel some connection. Well certainly in this pandemic want to feel safe, protected. Those are universal values. I think about just in the last few days. The former president put out saying this election was rigged. Democracy is not a football. You dont throw it around. Its more like, i dont know, antique base. You can drop it and smash it in A Million different pieces. Thats what we are capable of doing if we dont Stand Up to meet the moment and push back. I said this many, many times on the campaign trail. We may have defeated Trump But Trumpism is not dead in this country. The big lie. The January 6 insurrection. All the Voting Suppression efforts happening all across the country. Whats happening, the assault on fundamental rights, constitutionally protected rights of women and girls. Its a remarkable moment in our nations history. But i am reminded of something a few decades ago someone told me. When describing difficult and challenging moment, said the world is too small. Our time is too short, and our wisdom is to limited to end fleeting victories and other peoples expense. He went on to say we must all triumph together. So in that spirit of recognizing and reconciling this moment and trying to understand whats going on, not just here in the state for all across the united states of america. I want to say this.
