What do you make of this strategy from this White House . Well, i watched the whole speech yesterday. I liked some of the content. I liked the fact the president will make it easier for people to get vaccinated and time off from work. He talked not enough about Testing And Treatment which arent nearly as available as they should be. But i quite frankly did not like the tone. I didnt like the fact he seemed to be pitting the vaccinated against the unvaccinated. And i didnt like that as a black man recognizing that a lot of minorities still have historical reasons for hesitancy. I didnt like it recognizing a lot of women still have concerns because they quite frankly have been preyed on by misinformation. Three studies came out this week saying the vaccines dont cause a higher risk of miscarriage. We need to focus on making the virus the enemy and not each other. Dana what about also the fact that as i saw in your tweets Last Night you are concerned about people of color who have long had concerns about vaccines and there wasnt a lot of persuasion there. It was more of as you said, just dictating that this is what you are going to have to do. A lot of these businesses, they have people who work for them and trying to help them and be persuasive about the vaccine. What would you say how he addressed that in his speech . Well, ive been around the country talking to businesses. Many do a really good job of helping provide incentives. Helping provide education. I would have liked to have seen him talk a little bit more about Empathy And Education along with any discussion about mandates. Im not against mandates by employers but they have to be coupled with compassion and making sure you ask people what are your concerns . Explaining to them this is why its important for you as an individual but also for our business to get as many people as possible vaccinated. Especially in healthcare places. About getting more people vaccinated and its not just about portraying the unvaccinated as bad people. We also have to understand there are certainly people who have made this political. And it seems to be policy and politics that President Biden is happy to have with a fight but it will be a fight. What he basically says the authority of the court. They dont have a purse like the congress does, the power of the purse. They dont have the sword, the power of the executive. What they really have is public acceptance. If you have political things like changing the number of justices from 9 to 13 so that you will have seven liberals and 6 conservatives all that will do is make the court more political and less trusted by The Public. We just started our shift down there and in need of nothing but 4 00 in the morning about 13 hours later when we were leaving the same gentleman was standing there where he had four cases of water when we came in he had a stockpile 200 feet wide and 4 layers deep. A civilian in a suit. Jacket off, sleeves rolled up. I really appreciated what he did. I would love to see him and say thank you. Chaos didnt allow for that moment to be more than that. Unified is the largest district so far but others in california and around the country are considering to do this as well. Yesterday the board voted unanimously to require all students ages 12 and up to be vaccinated. Kids who are in sports or after school programs must get their first shots in the three weeks and be fully vaccinated by halloween. They need to show it to come back after campus on Winter Break in january. It affects 225,6to 12 graders. The first vaccine is no later than it is clear the best way to do that and keep kids in classrooms is make sure everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated can do so.
