Of that country will only increase. The last u. S. Planes carrying u. S. Troops and State Department left personnel left Kabul Airport at 3 29 p. M. Eastern time. They cleared afghanistan airspace and thats when we heard from the general. It marks the end of 20year mission which began shortly, of course, after the September 11th attacks. Roughly 6,000 americans have been evacuated since august 14th. About 250 roughly are believed still to be on the ground in afghanistan with the taliban now in control. Meantime, The Big Story here back at home in the u. S. Rescuers are trying to reach people trapped by floodwaters across louisiana as residents are being told not to return to New Orleans and other areas across the southeast. More than 1 Million customers in Louisiana And Mississippi, including all of New Orleans left without power after Hurricane Ida made landfall as a category 4 storm. And many of them tonight are still without power down there. At least one person was killed as a result of the storm so far but louisianas governor expects that Death Toll to rise, unfortunately. Lets go back to the wars as we await the Secretary Of State. We start with national Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin from the pentagon on the end of the War In Afghanistan. Good evening, jen. Good evening, bret. The last plane carrying u. S. Troops has departed afghanistan. The american general who led the operation admitted theres a lot of Heart Break because we did not get out everybody who wanted to leave. Americas longest war is over. The last military Transport Plane took off from Kabul Airport and safely cleared afghan airspace. The last c17 lifted off from Harmid Karzai international airport August 30th this afternoon at 3 29 p. M. East coast time. 2461 americans killed in action, 13 of them in just the last week as they were carrying out a humanitarian mission to bring americans and their allies to safety. 6,000 americans evacuated since august 14th. 122,000 Afghan Allies. Your message to americans and Afghan Allies who were Left Behind . So the military phase of this operation has ended. The diplomatic sequel to that will now begin. In the past 20 years of war, more than 20,000 american Service Members were wounded fighting against the taliban. The group that harbored the alqaeda terrorists who struck the united states on September 11th, that same group marched into kabul on august 14th, 20 years later. Today they are back in control of kabul. On my orders, the united States Military has begun strikes against alqaeda Terrorist Training Camps and military installation of the taliban Rerah Jet Stream in afghanistan. The u. S. Congress authorized the president go after the 9 11 attackers exactly one week after the attacks on 18th, 2001. The u. S. Has been at war ever since. August 7th, 2001, airstrikes began it took 10 more years until forces killed Usama Bin Laden at his compound in pakistan. In addition to the u. S. Troops who were killed, 47,000 afghan civilians were. How did it feel leaving afghanistan to the very group that you overthrew 20 years ago, the taliban . It was very conflicted, actually. But i would tell you i waS Pretty much focused on the task at hand. I will have days ahead to actually think about that. Thats a question and i am going to be thinking about that in the days ahead. General mckenzie added that 2,000 hardened isis fighters remain in afghanistan, most of them let out of prisons by the taliban. General mackenzie said now that the last u. S. Troops are out of afghanistan, the taliban will have their hands full with isis but so might the united states. Bret . Bret jen, Grit Job at the pentagon throughout this thank you. General mckensey as you heard said the u. S. Did not get everybody out of afghanistan. The americans who wanted to evacuate and many on the ground are now facing the harsh reality of the taliban in control of that country. Many are said to be looking at other options to try to get out Correspondent Trey Yingst joins us live from doha, qatar. Trey . Claiming independence over afghanistan this as Hundreds Of Americans and of a begans remain stranded. Civilians outside of kabul food as car with Aid Workers drives by. The Scene Paint a grim picture depicting what life will be like for many people who couldnt make it out of ofing. We tried every option because our lives are in danger. They, The Americans, the foreigners must show us a way to be safe. We leave afghanistan or provide a safe place for us. Afghans still desperate to flee the country made their way to kabuls airport this weekend hoping to fly to safety. Despite having the proper paperwork, many were turned away at taliban checkpoints where the gates controlled by American Forces. The acting u. S. Ambassador To Afghanistan took to twitter today denying that americans were turned away. He did not mention the estimated 80,000 special Immigrant Visa Holders who remain in the country. A report in the New York Times chronicled a group of students who gathered sunday at a Safe House and then took buses to the Kabul Airport. After waiting for seven hours, they were informed they would not be able to fly out. With the only Air Bridge out of afghanistan closing in hours, thousands are starting to flee on foot to Neighboring Pakistan and iran. The taliban has said that they will bring about security. But we cannot see that at the moment. The thousands of evacuees in places like qatar will spend the coming weeks looking for permanent homes. Those Left Behind will spend the coming weeks just looking for safety. Bret . Bret Trey Yingst in doha, qatar, thanks. As we mentioned Secretary Of State Antony Blinken about to brief reporters as you look live at the State Department there the diplomatic pressure on the taliban to make sure that The Americans and afghans who helped the u. S. Can get out of that country even though there are zero u. S. Troops on the ground. Correspondent Griff Jenkins is at the State Department now with a preview. We heard from the Secretary Of State earlier, griff, good evening. And he basically was setting the table. We wont have a diplomatic presence there on the ground after tonight. Thats right, bret. Good evening, we expect the announcement from Secretary Blinken to be fundamentally the suspension of a diplomatic presence in afghanistan and, of course, they have left the door open based on the behavior of the taliban whether they can be trusted to see if we will have another relationship of sorts. But we also expect the secretary to say that the top priority right now is the evacuation of the what they call less than 250 American Citizens to get out safely who may still want to get out. No question we left some behind. Along with the thousands of Afghan Allies and that task has been made much more difficult now that the taliban are in control of the airport, there is no international agreement on who will operate it. And that means that over Land Routes are going to be the method to get them out and that is no easy task because it is a tough neighborhood considering iran is to the west. Pakistan is to the east. And traveling through the interior of afghanistan you are going through a taliban controlled isisk infested territory now. Thats not easy to get through some of the countries; so that will be something we will hear about along with, i suspect, bret, we will hear more about this leverage the administration believes they hold over the taliban which amounts mostly to billions in international funding which the previous government was heavily depend dependent upon along with access to a global market which the taliban has indicated they are seeking. As we have seen in the last few days no shortage of critics saying that that leverage doesnt amount to what the administration thinks it does . We talk a lot about the taliban history which is heinous history of human Rights Abuse let alone executing people in these different provinces as they came to power. This most recent time. To hear the administration, including the secretary of State Talk about it, they have had pretty indepth conversations with the taliban. Not only for the security around the airport, but also for the way forward. And they think, to your point that they have some kind of leverage in the international community and the way the taliban is going to run that government to be able to get those americans and Afghan Allies out. I think though we have seen the administration, bret, admit that they dont see the taliban as a trustworthy partner until they have demonstrated it in deeds not words and obviously only time will tell whether that bears fruit. Bret all right. Griff jenkins at the State Department, thanks. We will continue to monitor. The State Department will bring you the Secretary Of State as he comes out live. Every single u. S. Service member is now out of afghanistan. I can say that with 100 percent certainty. You would like to bring out everybody who wanted to come out. We arent able to do that. The Situation Wouldnt allow it i think we can a very good job of getting everybody out that we could get out. Given the unique challenges of the tactical situation on the ground. Bret 20 years all the u. S. Troops are now out of afghanistan. Its a major moment but as we mentioned americans are still on the ground in Harms Way. Lets bring in our Panel Mollie Hemingway Senior Editor at the federalist. Juan williams Fox News Analyst and Trey Gowdy former congressman from south carolina. I want go Around The Horn and i might interrupt you if the Secretary Of State comes out and just think about this moment, this time what it means and what we have seen over the past 0 days. Trey, first to you. 0 years, the same group that we ran off is running afghanistan. Women and girls are still second class citizens. Religious minorities are still being targeted. Journalists are still being beaten. Terrorists are still killing americans as evidenced by this week and the best we can do is diplomatic pressure which is an oxymoron. Bret yeah. Mollie . Yeah. Thats exactly right. The taliban are bigger, stronger, they control more territory, they are more well equipped as a Military Presence and than they could have dreamed of being on September 11th. People are very focused on how incompetent this withdrawal was and it was and contrary to what we just heard about how it couldnt have gone better, it was a disaster. And it was horrible and awful, the lives lost. And just the failures there. But, really we need to not forget that 19 of the last 20 years of this War Led by woke generals and political leaders who moved to Nation Building instead of having proper metrics for success of how to defeat an enemy, they have caused this the taliban are in a position of strength not because of the last 10 days but because of the last 19 years. We need to never fight a war this way ever again. It is one thing to do this with the taliban. Its entirely another to do it with a nuclear adversary, which you know, something we might be facing in the years to come. Bret you know, juan, obviously, the administration is trying to put the best foot forward here talking a lot about the accomplishment of the Air Lift of getting 123,000 out. And not focusing on too much on The Americans on the ground saying they have a plan to get those out, talking about the success that they see of getting u. S. Troops out. But there is a lot of pushback. You heard a little bit about it from mollie and trey. Heres g. O. P. Backlash about how this has gone. We are now less safe. The taliban has more Black Hawk helicopters than australia. We have weaponized them. Just because we decided to quit fighting doesnt mean the terrorist goes away. So they are still out there. They are invigorated and emboldened and excited about the success they see in bringing america to its knees. Bret thoughts on that, juan . Well, i think two things to say and, let me just say i think this is a bold Headline Day for america the forever war is over. I think we accomplished the goals that we set when we went in there 20 years ago. That afghanistan was not used as a terrorist Launching Site. The american people want this war over. And when you think about the 13 heroes whose bodies came home this weekend to dover, you think you know what . Those people died good cause. They helped with this evacuation to get people out safely. And its, you know, more than 100,000 people, all of our Military Personnel now gone. Theyre the last people who have died in this, you know, americas longest war, as you said, bret. I think the key thing in response to those quotes that you just played is to understand that the Terrorist Threat is very different today than it was 20 years ago. The element of surprise is gone. We have hardened our targets. We had networks of intelligence. We have the capacity which we have shown over the last few days to strike back at terrorists in a way that we did have not 20 years ago. Pretty wreath some of the Family Members have already expressed publicly that those marines that Navy Core Corpsman and u. S. Soldier didnt have to die it was unnecessary because of the way this was handled. Thats their words. Thats the criticism that those 13 did not have to die. There was not a single casualty since february of 2020. Prior to this moment. Now, the second thing is that this Terrorism Threat is real no matter how you look at it so the War In Afghanistan on the ground may be over and the troops may be out of Harms Way there. But, juan, you know that if it pops up and it likely will, its a Witchs Brew of radical islamic terrorism there that were going to go there and the problem is that the intelligence assets dry up when you dont have some aspect of ground presence. Well, i think we still do have some but clearly not what we had previously with our troops there and with our mission, you know, our embassy there. But i think that its important to understand that the mission, the mission was to prevent that it area, afghanistan from being used as a terrorist Launching Site. And i think that we have accomplished that. And, again, when you look at the reality on the ground and say that there are americans there, there are a lot of americans apparently out of that 250 who choose to be there most of those that are left there in terms the afghans are people who wanted to get out but we just couldnt manage it and i think that when you look at this and you look at four President S, bret, you look at President Bush who chose to go in there, and didnt know how to get out. You look at President Obama, you know, he put more troops in but it was like a bandaid. He didnt really know how to get out. President trump negotiated with the taliban, thats, you know, and now President Biden under estimated the strength of the afghan government. There were a lot of mistakes here. Bret all right, trey, last word. Im just trying to process how afghanistan is no longer a Launching Site for terrorism with the 13 coffins that i saw at Dover Air Force Base apparently it still is a Launching Pad for terrorism because 13 of our soldiers were killed within the past week. Bret and we will have you back in a bit. Again we are waiting for the Secretary Of State tony blinken at the State Department and well bring that to you live. President biden met yesterday with the families of the 13 u. S. Marines and troops killed in the Suicide Attack near the Kabul Airport. First Lady Jill Biden joined the president at Dover Air Force Base to grieve with the Loved Ones as the dignified transfer of remains unfolded. 11 marines, one army soldier, one Navy Corpsman paid the ultimate sacrifice there the oldest was just 31 years old. Five were just 20. As old as the war itself. All of the fallen heroes have now been identified. They are marine Corps Lance corporal David Lee Espinoza of rio bravo, texas. Marine Corps Sergeant Nicole gee of sacramento, california. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Darin Hoover of salt lake city, utah. Marine Corps Lance corporal Kareem Nikoui of norco, california. Army Staff Sergeant Ryan knauss of corrington, tennessee. Maureen corps corporal Hunter Lopez of i understandio, california. Marine Corps Lance corporal Rylee Mccollum of jackson, wyoming. Bret breaking tonight, looking live again at the State Department just getting word there that Secretary Of State blinken will come out at the both the hour. We heard he was going to be in the 5 00 hour Eastern Time then the top of the 6 00. Now we are hearing 6 30 p. M. Eastern time. We will bring you there when the Secretary Of State speaks about the end of the War In Afghanistan and the way forward for The Americans still on the ground. Meantime, back here in the u. S. , Rescue Workers are working nonstop in Louisiana And Mississippi to help those affected by Hurricane Ida after it slammed into Louisiana Yesterday as a category 4 hurricane. Wind speeds topping 150 mileS Per hour. Hurricane ida had the potential to be one of the more powerful storms to make landfall in the u. S. Senior correspondent Mike Tobin is in New Orleans tonight. Good evening, mike. Good evening, bret. The number of people killed by Hurricane Ida has just risen to two as the Health Department has confirmed a drowning victim. Rescuers are fearful that relatively low number could rise as they struggle to reach the areas hardest Hit Ida Hundred Ida slammed into Louisiana 16th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. It was loud. We could hear the wind and hear things hitting the house and hitting the vehicle. We heard a lot of crashing sound. Waves slammed into this dock. Wreaking havoc, ripping pieces of melts off buildings and uprooting trees in southern. A levee failed in will he fit, New Orleans. Leaving 200 people in imminent danger from the high waters necessary tailgating rescue. Slow moving storm is still causing flooding throughout the region and tornadoes remain a threat. President Biden Meeting virtually with governors in the Fema Administrator noted that more than 5,000 guardsmen have been called called. Generators are being sent and drones being used to assess damage to the power grid. Folks get knocked down. We are there to help you get back on your feet. Most important element though is coordinating all the branches of government. In New Orleans, Bourbon Street was left littered with debris, buildings in other areas of the City Collapse and huge trees were uprooted including one that survived Hurricane Katrina. But one thing was clear, this hurricane was not katrina. So far we have not had reports of massive loss. Of life but we did have a tragedy where we believe an individual was driving a car and therefore drown. That maybe due to the more than 14 Million spent by the federal government after katrina to rebuild the leveeS Protecting the city making them bigger and stronger and far more capable of with understanding huge displorms all of our levee systemS Particularly our federal Levee Systems and the Hurricane Risk Reduction system performed magnificently. The Entergy Company says suffered catastrophic dang during the storm. Even one that spanned the mississippi and withstood katrina. 2 Million people are without power. 4500 workers are on the ground. No estimate for when the lights will be back on. Bret . Bret thats a Big Deal, mike. The power obviously and having covered Hurricane Katrina 16 years ago its a much different deal with the levees right now so the big Issue Town there right now iS Power . The big issue iS Power. One of the things to look for, the pumps that drain the city of New Orleans, those Function Storm pumps those function but the Sewage Pumps are dependent on the power grid. You can start to have a Health Emergency here if they dont get those things online and pumping soon. Bret we will follow that closely Microphone Bin in New Orleans, thanks. Now from wet to fire. And wind. The entire city of south Lake Tahoe is under evacuation Orders Tonight as a massive wildfire whips closer being fueled by high winds and dry conditions. The new orders come a day after communities several miles south of the lake had abruptly been ordered to evacuate as the colder fire raged nearby. We talked about this fire for days and days. The colder fire has scorched more than 177,000 acres after this weekends fierce burning containment of this fire dropped from 19 to 14 . Well watch that up next, getting americans out of afghanistan without the assistance of u. S. Troops. We continue to wait on the Secretary Of State on that. Someone who resembles Someone Else. There are growing Concerns Tonight about how they will get out after President Obama promised u. S. Forces would remain as long as american civilians needed to be evacuated there. Here is white House Correspondent jackie heinrich. We get folks out there who need assistance. And were doing the best we can. President s message of the last two weeks for americans and allies in afghanistan today he directed at those in the wreckage of Hurricane Ida. The if the not speak at all on afghanistan hours before the last u. S. Troops and diplomats left the taliban controlled country. Up to 2450 American Citizens allies Left Behind. We remain in touch with American Citizens. The White House has touted diplomatic leverage over the taliban to ensure safe passage with troops now gone. Without forces on groted the Ground Safety Will hick on protection outside the country. Is there any concern that he would limited in our ability to respond in a timely manner if we have got 8 hours of flight time and then they can only hang out over the target four or five hours before they have got to turn around and go back. Well, first, i would say the fact that we have had two successful strikes confirmed by centcom tells you our over the Horizon Capacity is working. Less clear ability russian president Vladimir Putin shut down President Bidens effort to set up shop in asianamerican countries. I know putin in that reported June Meeting spoke for china in that. Did we ever get an answer for china ourselves on their position on this . I cant speak to these private diplomatic conversations with from her i can tell you we have a range of partners in the region. With the final warplane now out of afghanistan u. S. Troops will begin to make their way home. Fresh in the mind of the President S critics is the image of the president appearing to check his watch as the bodies of 13 fallen u. S. Service members returned home. Former governor Mike Huckabee tweeting in part many of us remember President Bush 41 checking his watch during a debate and how awful it looked. But this is shocking. It will be remembered,. Bret, we dont have an exact number on how many americans are left in afghanistan or where in the country they are. We also dont know exactly how many Afghan Allies are still trying to flee. The President Says he will speak tomorrow on his decision not to extend the Withdrawal Date but said for now it had the unanimous recommendation of all the top military brass. Wreath . Bret we will follow that Jacqui Heinrich live on the north lawn. Thank you. Stocks were mixed today. The S P 500 and Nasdaq Finishing in Record Territory again. The dow lost 56. The S P 500 gained 19. The nasdaq added 136. A large portion of u. S. Oil and gaS Production took a hit when Hurricane Ida slammed the Gulf Of Mexico over the weekend. And even if you werent in idaS Path you actually may still feel the effects. Fox business grady trimble joins to us explain. Good evening, grady. Hi, bret. Most of the Gas Stations in the new Orleans Area look like this. No gas at all and many of them, including this one, are dealing with Power Outtax and damage of their own Search And Rescue missions top priority of Law Enforcement and their partners with the federal government. But the White House is also monitoring for Fuel Shortages in Louisiana And Mississippi. There are a range of tools at our disposal that the federal government has to address Fuel Supply shortages natural Disasters Emergency waivers of fuel obviously if warranted by e. P. A. Help ensure adequate supplies for fuel is available. Even people not dealing with the immediate impact of ida can expect gaS Prices to go up a noticeable amount. Gas buddy estimates they will increase anywhere from 5 to 5 centS Per gallon thats because operators halted almost all oil and gaS Production in the Gulf Of Mexico in advance of the storm on top of that. This region accounts for one fifth of the Countrys Refining Capacity S P global says nearly 75 of the states Refining Capacity is off line right now. Including louisianas two largest refineries operated by Exxon Mobil and marathon. No word on when they will be up and running again. So aS Power crews are out assessing the daniel and trying to restore power for the millions of people without it in their homes, it will be also it will also be critical, bret, for them to restore power to these refineries so that gaS Prices dont increase even more. Bret grady trimble life in louisiana. Thanks. Up next Adam Smith on americas longest war coming to an end and what comes next. We are still waiting for the Secretary Of State as well. Bret with news of americas longest War In Afghanistan coming to an end lets bring in Adam Smith the chairman of the house armed Services Committee. Congressman, mr. Chairman, thanks for joining us just your thoughts first of all 30,000 feet on this day. Being. Its a huge day, hoble. 20 years of history that well be reviewing for some time. My other thought is i spoke with Secretary Austin not long ago the mission that our Service Members just carried out having to respond so quickly whether we should have anticipated it or not, they had to respond quickly get in there and they got well over 100,000 people out, obviously we tragically lost lives in that effort. I think we really need to thank those service people who werent in there and did their level to get people out of afghanistan in very desperate circumstances. Thats my dominant thought. Then, of course, we have a lot of policies to figure out going forward. Bret yeah. When the president talked about this and the evolution of the past two weeks, it did change about how this is going to go how he answered and what General Mckenzie said today. A commitment holds to get everyone out that, in fact, we can get out and everyone that should come out and thats the objective. Thats what were doing now. Thats the path were on. And if there is American Forces American Citizens left we are going to stay until we get them all out. No American Citizens came out on what we call the joint tactical, the last five jets to leave. We maintained the ability to bring them in up until immediately before departure. But we were not able to bring any americans out. That activity ended probably about 12 hours before our exit. Although we continue the outreach and would have been prepared to bring them home until the very last Minute But None of them made it to the airport and were able to be accommodated. Bret mr. Chairman, the President Said we were going to stay until all The Americans were out. The last five plane full of people out of kabul did not include any americans and yet, there are some 250, some people say 300 American Citizens on the ground. Some of whom despite the characterization that they want to stay want to get out of afghanistan how can we as a country have left even though it was big Healthcare Lien Effort herculean effort. I had many d we had a classified briefing last week. Look, the mission was clear that context and i questioned they september saying we will have the mission complete by August 31st. I was like what is the mission . Publicly as you said the mission was get everybody out. But that really wasnt the mission. Because of the danger. And it makeS Perfect sense to have this fix. Onced the taliban stops our ability to be there the mission got a ton more dangerous and it was dangerous enough as it was given the threat from isis so what the mission really was get as many people out as we possibly can by August 31st when our troops come out and try to make sure we maintain the conditions with the taliban to continue to get people out after that. Even after our troops have left no, i dont think they made that as clear publicly as they should have. They kept saying things like the President Said when that was not really what they were trying to do. I understand that. They were in a very dangerous situation. And they were arguably putting more lives at risk by staying than by going. But that should have been a lot clearer than it was. Bret mr. Chairman, you know as chairman of the house armed Services Committee that we have the best military in the entire world that can do really anything it wants to dont you think we handed too much control over to the taliban, too much Hat Tip to the taliban. Too much control around the airport . Why didnt we control that environment and try to get more of those people out . First of all, i disagree very importantly to what you said the idea that The American military can do whatever it wants. I think that outlook and that attitude goes a long way towards explaining the struggles that we have had in afghanistan over the last 20 years. The American Military is the most capable Military Force in the world if any military in the world can get something done then its going to be ours. Bret it can secure an airport it can secure an area. It can make safe passage for americans. Im getting to that. Bret okay. But said. Bret i gotcha . And that attitude gets us in a whole heck of a lot of trouble. So i want to make sure that we understand that second, as far as the mission on the ground, i have spoken with General Mckenzie, he does not agree with your assessment of our ability to secure that area in that environment between isis and a possibly hostile taliban. They tried after they secured the airport which wasnt easy at first step. They then went outside of the airport to bring people in to help them out. But the ability militarily is explain to me to secure afghanistan, you saw the vulnerability that we had when the Suicide Bombers showed up so i think we would have been placing a great deal of lives at risk if we had tried stay longer and do that extraordinary difficult call but i think the risks were higher than most people realize. Steve. Bret i agree with you having been on the ground its tough and the military did an amazing Job Divhoog they did; however, with the decisions that were made, how we did it and the closing of Bagram Air base and the stopping of Air Cover for the afghan forces. Seemed like it was a confluence that could have been done differently. It certainly could have been done differently. I do think that President Biden is getting a lot of unfair criticism for having made the tough decision that so many before him would not make. And that was to acknowledge that we werent going to be able to sustain an afghan government forever. That it justthat that mission was not working. The big criticism i have and we talked about this in our hearings in the armed Services Committee and our meetings at the Defense Department back in january and february, we should have gotten the civilians out sooner. We should have started that process in march and april. They were still going through the normal Siv Process which takes a ton of time. You know, they should have sped it up like they did once we went in on this mission much sooner than they did. I think that is a very legitimate criticism. Bret Harmid Karzai international airport was not defend be in a city of 4 Million people. Ba game Air Base sure seemed like a better option. We will have a lot of time to look back and mr. You would like it bring out everybody that want to come out. We werent able do that the Situation Wouldnt allow it i think we did a very good job of getting everybody that we could get out. Given the unique challenges of the tactical situation on the ground. Bret they did get most of them afghans 5 to 6 of thousand americans. There are 250 to 300 americans still on the ground. Were back with the panel. We should point out that the Secretary Of State has started to have a statement at 5 00 and 5 30. 6 00, it was going to be and then 6 30. Now its 6 50, so we dont know whats happening. So were going to stop showing the podium because we dont think is he coming out before the end of the show. Trey, the interesting thing about The Americans that are still on the ground as we are talking about the 2506789 administration saying there are some people wanted to stay. Some people wanted to be there. We know there are some people thatted to get out of the people that are on the ground. Let alone the fact that the taliban a Navy Veteran Mark took him about a year and a half ago. And there was effort to make a deal. But they still hold him. Hold hostage an american. So the thought that suddenly these americans on the ground are going to have an easy time just getting to the airport i hope they do. We all hope they do. Theyre holding an american hostage currently. Yeah. I mean, going through tsa is one thing. How would you like to go through the taliban to get to the airport . Look, biden said americans were not leaving until americans are gone and were gone and there are still americans there and equally, importantly there are people who sided with america who will be killed because come Hell Or High Water Joe Biden decided August 31st, thats it. We are out. Bret mollie . People keep conflating the proper decision to end the War In Afghanistan with the manner in which it was done. We just heard about President Biden saying he wasnt going to leave until all americans were out. He also said it would be a safe and orderly Withdrawal E said it was highly unlikely that the taliban would fall to the taliban it is the withdrawal that has been the problem and this ending of the war does not change the fact that that incompetence must be dealt with. Bret juan, quickly . I well, i think there was never going to be any easy exit and now you have war lords vs. Isis vs. The taliban making it even more dangerous scenario there. I just think its a Capital Letter Day to say this 20 year forever war is over. Bret we hope its over for good, juan and we dont have to go back in and do something else. We will follow it day to day. Panel, thanks. When we come back, some final thought as we wait for the Secretary Of State. But we will have some final thoughts here. Thritis. And take. It. On. With rinvoq.
