The drone was launched from the United Arab Emirates. It struck vehicle. Carrying the Isis Planner along with an associate. The town is where President Trump launched the mother of all bombs against this Terrorist Group three months after taking office. On Thursday President Biden after the deadly Suicide Attack, vowed revenge against the Terrorist Group. To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes america harm, know this. We will not forgive. We will not forget. Will hunt you down And make you pay. The Drone Strike coming after another warning from the u. S. Embassy In Kabul issuing a warning to americans to leave The Gates of the Kabul Airport immediately. A similar warning was issued before the deadly Suicide Attack. The Army Chief of staff responding saying these fallen Service Members died injuring others might live. They represent the very best of america And we continue this mission in their honor. They continue to evacuate folks out of that region. Kevin the argument ive gotten in my conversations with administration officials simply, we are sort of painted into a corner. We are doing the best we can to affect an outcome. Its a worse Case Scenario but i think its fair to say the president did receive competing opinions about how best to get out of the circumstance. For the record, the State Department is sorted behind all this in terms of the move, not so much the pentagon. Do you see any value in how the administration has affected this accident especially given what we are seeing tonight. Theres been a lot of criticism of the administration. You already played And showed that two strong supporters of biden And the democratic party, the Congressman Tom Malinowski And senator menendez, have been critical. There is reason to expect their biden Administration Couldve done better but they have a point that they were left in a very difficult circumstance. The Trump Administration decided to do a deal with the taliban And its the Trump Administration that decided to withdraw all of our troops. If it were up to the Trump Administration, all the troops wouldve been out months earlier in may. The Biden Administration pushed her back as far as they felt they could without occurring a new offensive by the taliban. Also, everyone seems to of been caught off guard. The intelligence was certainly bad. People believed the Afghan National Army And the afghan government would withstAnd attacks from the taliban for months. It actually took a couple weeks for the taliban to take over the whole country And to get inTo Kabul. None of our intelligence officials apparently expected or new that was going to happen. In that way, either administration would have dealt with its Intelligence Failure And been caught off guard. Still, i do wish that the administration had done a better job at the outset. Now i think we have a lot of very talented military And State Department personnel working on this evacuation And i do have confidence that theyre going to work it out. Kevin i want to push back a bit. David said the Trump Administration makes the argument that this was based on conditions on the ground. There was no heart out on a specific date that was one of the arguments i heard in my conversations as well. The overarching argument is given what we know And given the brevity of time we have left, where talking about the 31st, right around the corner, is it your belief we will be able to pull this off . Are we staring down the barrel of an extension of time whether we want to extend it or not. We are not going to pull it off but i think President Biden will get us out by the 31st. That has happened very quickly. The 31st is on tuesday, And thats the date by which the last helicopter full of marines were soldiers has to be out. I agree with david on one thing. Our intelligence has been grotesquely incompetent And its not just our intelligence be accuracy. The 80 Billion a Year Intelligence Bureaucracy but also our fourstar politicians like general milley, Joint Chiefs Of Staff chairman, And our grotesquely incompetent Secretary Of Defense lloyd austin. There ought to be some bipartisan credibility. The republicans ought to stop cheerleading this military thats led us down so much. Not the individual soldiers, not the people on the ground, not at the tactical level but at the strategic level. Getting back to Donald Trump, the afghan government actually was holding out for the Biden Administration. They were hoping that biden would reverse the pullout. They were not negotiating with the taliban consistent with the agreement. I think Donald Trump wouldve helped them to account And how the taliban to account. He wouldnt give senatorial order which is what Joe Biden did to abAndon bagram. We couldve orchestrated a coherent withdraw. Kevin i want to switch it up And just for a second And get your take on the apparent Drone Strike that we believe took out a socalled isisk planner. Do you make much of that . What do you draw from that revelation from the Pentagon Tonight . A couple things, the Biden Administration recognized the need to retaliate immediately. To show isis they were not going to take more attacks from isis without responding in kind. They killed one of the planners in the province where isisk formed in 2015 at the height of the strength of isis when they had a lot of territory in iraq And syria. Thats their stronghold in afghanistan. It also shows that we had good intelligence on where isisk was, where key officials are ending the planners of this attack. I expect there will be more attacks like this, Drone Strikes by the u. S. Military against isisk. Keep in mind that the taliban did warn us that isisk was going to do that. The u. S. Seems to be getting some good intelligence from the taliban. The taliban still seems committed to fighting against isisk. Kevin david makes some important points, christian. He says his family worked for the u. S. Government. For 12 years. They have their visas but they were still denied access to board an aircraft. Joining us now. Its a heartbreaker of a story. As a human being, you want the very best for all the people in afghanistan. Its particularly heartwrenching when you think about how much theyve tried to help this country. Yet they are having great difficulty getting out of the country. The obvious first question is where is your family tonight. They are at my friends house. They can go to their own house for security purposes. They are a little scared because they know, they have all of their information. I made sure i put them somewhere else tonight. Kevin what happened when they try to get to the airport . Talk me through what you learned about that. This has been going on for the past, theyve been going to the airport, back And forth. Theres a group of veterans that have been guiding us through this, helping. Ive been sending him to the airport pretty much every day. 16, 17 hours without eating, without drinking. They couldnt get anywhere. Finally yesterday after 15 hours of waiting, i got him inside the gate. He walked through the gate. They were literally about 30 feet away from the aircraft aboard the aircraft. Unfortunately when they got there, they told us we dont have the right documents. We will not be able to let you in. That was probably the worst moment of my life, hearing that over the phone. Getting my family back out there And sending them home with the crazy people. What they are doing. Kevin the Security Situation is just incredibly, incredibly difficult And frightening for everyone watching around the globe. Im wondering, did you have a moment where you broke down . You felt helpless being so far away . Absolutely. I was almost in tears yesterday. I actually did. I was yelling over the phone, please help, please help. I have the governor of nevada involved, the senator. I knock on every door. Not just for my family, all the people that have been helping us for the past 20 years. To just leave them behind, with those heartless people. Its unfortunate. If the government is going to see this video, i hope theyre going to start taking some action. Unfortunately its going to be a disaster for all the people that work with the military. Kevin before we let you go, we have about 15 seconds.
