We should stick to our guns and get this thing done properly, in terms of completing the mission and the mission is get our people out and were going to walk out not having completed it brian we are. That, its a stain on our national honor. Theres just absolutely no way about that. I also hear, because we want to work with the taliban, weve got people in the State Department that believe we should recognize the taliban as a legitimate government, because we have to work with them. The taliban enabled 9 11, as 3,000 dead in the united states. The taliban killed 2,400plus americans, and wounded thousands of them some of them tragically maimed catastrophically for the rest of their life. Ive been warning for two weeks now that we Cant Trust the taliban to conduct security at the airport or to help secure our citizens in kabul, and we saw the consequences of that yesterday. Between, remember, we apparently gave the names of american citizens and afghans and partner citizens as well to the taliban to help them get through screen ing checkpoints. Just think about how insane that is. Thats like giving the taliban a Hit List for our people and our partners, but also, if were trusting them to screen people get to the airport, how did that Suicide Bomber get through the taliban Screening Point . So we need to hold not only the terrorists who committed this atrocity accountable. We need to hold the taliban accountable for it as well. Steve well you know, senator, it was the guys at the pentagon who said this is a good idea. Lets have the taliban who are terrorists, well have them protecting our people, and then to your point, it looks as if yesterday, the bad guys were able to get past the taliban and who knows, maybe one of the guys goes oh, thats the guy. We just know that the president says im going to find you and bring you to justice but to do that, they would really have to put boots on the ground again and thats the last thing Joe Biden wants to do. It has hundreds, if not thousands of yards of standoff from civilians or other approaches to it. It would have been much easier to secure that Air Base than it is to secure the airport in downtown kabul, where streets are running right along the fences but again it gets back to what you said its all about Joe Bidens desire to get as many troops out of afghanistan as quickly as possible without regard for the security consequences or the safety of our citizens on the ground or our partners, or those afghans who served alongside us and who have been approved to come into this country. What Joe Biden needs to do now is reverse course. He needs to stay at that airport as long as necessary, reopen bagram, if necessary, to make sure we get every last american citizen out of afghanistan and that we bring to justice those who killed 13 brave american troopers. And thats why its so concerning, because very vulnerable to Storm Surge and we could see Storm Surge of over 12 feet with Heavy Rainfall, close to a foot of rain its possible in some of these areas and to see these models in agreement coming just west of New Orleans again the worst of the Storm Surge, the worst of the Heavy Rain is always on the right hand side, so thats why we are so concerned and the Storm Surge is what really inundates these areas these low lying areas so i am really really concerned with louisiana, if you live across mississippi, alabama, florida and texas you need to pay attention, but louisiana, you really need to listen to your local officials.
