Everyone gets to use the bathrooms they need to use. Amendments the original plan, Inclusivity Training for all Loudoun County public School Staff and a provision to renovate and modify single use restrooms within five years for greater privacy. Still from many in the community, deep concerns remain. Under the guise of inclusivity we are taking action on a policy its unnecessary. Its ambiguous. Its divisive. Its antifamily, antiprivacy, antiteacher. A lot of parents voice their concerns its going to allow men and womens bathrooms. Its an abridgment of a lot of womens rights and a lot of opportunities taken away from women in favor of that. Strong opposition but only by a couple members. Todays vote took place during a sparsely attended meeting in ashburn. Due to the Boards Decision to delay a vote on the policy after the public Comment Period from tuesdays meeting stretched well beyond four hours. Shannon we have seen this get very heated. Now the new policy requires Mental Health Professionals to complete training on Lgbtq Related Issues including antibullying measures. There is bit more. Theres also a push thanks to the policy to include antiharassment and antidiscrimination training as well. This also enables the superintendent of the county to develop regulations and procedures to ensure consistency across all county schools. The new policy also comes to bear after the general assembly in virginia required all School Systems across the commonwealth to adopt transgender affirming policies. Shannon that isnt very specific.
