Shannon, good evening. There are now reportedly enough votes in the new York State Assembly And Senate to impeach New York Governor Andrew Cuomo if he chooses not to resign. This, as the new poll says nearly 60 of New Yorkers believe the governor needs to go. [chanting] hey, hey, Governor Cuomos got to go. Tonight 70 of New York State Lawmakers mostly democrats are calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to step down. He stands alone, the executive without a mandate with no partners and a distraction to the public and the public safety of New York. The growing political pressure comes as four District Attorneys from albany, West Chester, Manhattan Open Criminal Investigations into the governor requesting all evidence gathered by the Attorney Generals office be turned over. The albany d. A. Is investigating allegations made by an unnamed Executive Assistant who says cuomo groped her seconds before asking to take this selfie in the Executive Mansion she claims cuomo put his hand under her blouse in a separate incident months later. The West Chester d. A. Is investigating claims by a State Trooper who says she was sexually harassed months after cuomo suggested she join his security detail. As he passed he took his open hand and ran it across her stomach from her Belly Button to the hip where she keeps her gun. Former Aide Charlotte Bennett says the governor made inappropriate sexual remarks and put her in uncomfortable situations. The City Writing in a statement they intend to, quote, Demand Relief from the federal government for the alarming number of immigrants being released into the city of mcallen and that as these immigrants are released the federal government does not test them for covid19. Back on monday, we were in Downtown Mcallen as we watched Border Patrol Drop off bus loads of migrants every 30 minutes releasing them from their custody to a catholic charity that no longer has the capacity to take in so many people. The city of mcallen says the federal government has released over 7,000 covid positive migrants into their city since february. Including more than 1500 in just the last week alone. The biden administration is now reportedly planning to begin offering covid19 vaccines to illegal immigrants in federal custody. Now with these Emergency Shelters going up to try to help contain the crisis, locals we talked to arent happy it was done overnight with no warning. Once that investigation started and then you started to hear these allegations about shower. It all sort of snowballed at once, and i do think that the uberous was a big piece of what made this more challenging for cuomo because he was seemed to be absorbed in all of it. We can have a number of democrats step forward and say its time for him to resign he has got to go. But they know, probably, as he does, he doesnt intend to do it. What he did was, at least offensive, unwanted, maybe criminal. But, again, another point about the media its all about the unwanted sexual advances now about what amy was talking about, deaths. Nobody was raped, nobody died an the sexual advances a lot of people died in Nursing Homes. The moral order here is out of place and the media is not helping us get it in the right place. Go in front of these women who were abused by him, assaulted and saying its because they dont understand what im trying to do like i have always been this way. I mean, its so disgusting. Its every day that he is still in power i have to shake my head and say New Yorkers wake up. This guy he should no longer be the governor of New York. He doesnt have many friends in albany but what he does have, you know, the new York Governor is very powerful, has a huge say in the distribution of money i think he is counting on that power to get people to come over to his side. There is a lot of federal funds coming into albany and if you hope to get it, i think he is trying to, you know, imply you better Play Ball with me. Stand up for me. Thats his calculation. I think if he believes that he will be impeached and convicted, he will leave on his own accord but not until then. He will want to go out on his own power. But if he thinks he can brazen it through if he thinks for example there wont be enough votes to convict in the new York State senate, i think he will stay there. And he will follow as bill set the Ralph Northam Book or something. Andrew cuomo is a fighter and he is not going to you know, he is not going to go down unless he has to. Its one thing for the fellow democrats, you know, its easy to call for someone to step down. Lets see if they will back it up by voting for impeachment and so forth. Okay. Lets start here. First of all, one of the things that the more progressive squad backed way of the party really backed is this extension on a ban on evictions. The Supreme Court has already gotten involved in this and i want to note this from the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board the Eviction Ban has to end some time say five justices this summer let the Eviction Ban stand until expired but Justice Brett kavanaughs caveat the Policy Couldnt be continued without clear and specific congressional authorization via new legislation, obviously that didnt happen. Mr. Biden may be bending under Progressive Pressure to reinstate the ban this would be strikingly lawless as the White House has admitted so Bill Mcgurn, how much pressure is the White House under to do the bidding of the far left progressive part of the party . Well, i think they are under a lot of pressure not just on this but on everything from all the other bills that they are considering to the Hide Amendment and so forth. The progressives may not be the numerical majority in the democratic caucus but they are driving the train. You know, its Bernie Sanders Reconciliation Ideas that are going to get put through. Look, we have had moderate democrats mentioned before. That the progressives takes on crime and so forth, you know, almost cost him the election. Nancy pelosi can only spare a few seats. And what is most instructive about the case you mentioned about the eviction continuing this, Joe Biden is continuing even after he admitted he doesnt really have the constitutional authority to do that. And one reason that Nancy Pelosi and want him to do it is i think they are not sure they have the votes or dont want to go on record. Thats one of the things about the progressive experiment they really dont want to put it to the legislative test and to go out there and have votes. They would much rather have Executive Orders and so forth. That speaks to the Deep Down fears a lot of this stuff is not popular. This gets to the Lefts Argument during the Trump Administration that he was busting up norms and getting things done through Executive Orders which the opposing party is always going to have that criticism of the president in power. They kept talking about how he was going to eviscerate the way things worked and the checks and balances and the various duties and obligations and privileges of each of the branches and, yet, here what we continue to see from the far left is to say as Bill Mcgurn pointed out if we cant get it done legislatively lets go through the Executive Branch or some other back door. They are having trouble getting it done legislatively. It is interesting because as bill said the energy is certainly on The Left on the agenda is being set by The Left. But cant get a lot of it through. Part of this is 50 50 in the senate and very close House But Part of it also i think is a lot of these moderate democrats who are quiet. The main thing about aoc is that theyre noisy. They make a lot of noise so they get a lot of media. Here i am again on the media. The moderate biden people dont make a lot of noise. But some of these folks, a lot of them i think are coming to their senses and saying Wait A Minute what did we buy here exactly . We thought we were buying a moderate left centrist democrat. Not this guy who has been pushing for all this. And watch the legislative i will be interested to hear what amy has to say about election primary result in cleveland where the very progressive and very popular Nina Turner lost to Chantal Brown who is much more the establishment candidate. If this is a harbinger of things to come. If its not, just wait and see what happens if Democrat Governors and progressives try to lock down the country because of delta and moderate democrats in the middle say Wait A Minute we tried that before.
