Could be the worst day for the dow since last october, and it all comes as the president is taking a Victory Lap on the economy. We brought this economy back from the brink, and we designed a strategy not only to provide for a temporary boost, but you lay the foundation for a longterm boom that brings everyone along. John we have been watching all of this, and joining us now, live from the White House. Good afternoon to you. Even with the dow, the economy is on the right path. He spoke about a just a few moments ago, and in his remark, he appeared to take a swipe at his predecessor who had long suggested during the campaign that Biden Presidency would doom the economy. Instead, the president taking a much different tone. Take a look. We have seen some price increases. Some folks have raised worries that this could be a sign of persistent inflation. But that is not our view. The reality is you cannot flip the global economic light back on and not expect this to happen. But critics argue it is that government causing inflation to spiral Out Of Control, with prices rising on everything from cars to food. They are ready to place the blame squarely on the president shoulders, seeing the economy has a major issue voters will be watching. We heard from kevin mccarthy, who set prices on everything from gas to groceries are skyrocketing. Inflation is hitting hard working middleclass families the most. A key driver, Increase Cost of living, Crystalclear Peer and massive increases in Government Spending by the democrats. Heres what he had to say its just moments ago. My hope is not facebook, instead of taking it personally, saying facebook is killing people, that they would do something about the misinformation. The outrageous misinformation about the vaccine. Speak out but facebook pushed back hard, insisting it is already working to do that, removing some 18 Million pieces of questionable content tied to the pandemic already. Not only questions, sandra, about that, but the very idea of the government working together with facebook is kind of a big Brother Exercise to take information down off of that Social Media platform. Sandra and i think a lot of folks were really interested to see how hard facebook shot back at the White House on that. There is a look at the dow. I am always hesitant to call it a big one, percentagewise. Over 2 . So to put that in perspective, this could be one of the worst days that the u. S. Stock market has seen in quite some time, months, in fact, going back to october. We are certainly watching it, and i do believe that there is a fear about another round of covid shutdowns. You see whats happening in l. A. You are seeing a spike in cases. There are concerns. John more broadly, find reasons to be optimistic, and reasons to be pessimistic. Democrats have not tested positive for coronavirus, in an attempt to block republicans from passing those new voting laws. They took a private jet to d. C. It all happened last week, and as you can see, they did not wear masks. You remember the picture On Board. They also spent some time meeting with Vice President harris in a windowless room. Either you are lying to us, getting vaccinated you guys covered a lot of the last week, but now, to take these reports, they are up to five. And i imagine more. They many responsibly, getting on the plane without masks. Most people have to do that, and then they land, and they either lied to us about the vaccine or the vaccine does not really work as effectively, or according to the staff, even close to what they are saying it does work on. We wrote down the odds of that, and i will just read this because three out of around 60 or one out of every 20 vaccinations, texas lawmakers had a Breakthrough Inspection versus the Cdc Rate of one infection out of every 9,842 vaccinations. The texas Lawmakers Rate is approximately 29000 higher than the Cdc Rate. This is a very effective vaccine. This would be statistically major anomaly. I dont know any other way to say it, brian. Without the most controversial thing they did was get on plane and leave. It is antiamerican. I dont like these voter i. D. Laws because they want to rein in the Pandemic Stretch laws. 24hour voting. But wouldnt it make sense to clarify whether they were vaccinated . Right now, they are saying you can get the coronavirus, even though you are vaccinated. In such a large percentage. In such a small group. A couple of things. We have all made our own choice about being vaccinated. Sandra im vaccinated. Speak out the whole country can Get It, and facebook putting something up, i dont want to give them that much credit. They say 85 of their users are vaccinated, south some people have had it already. A massive group of migrants arriving this morning, mostly from haiti. But by troopers from several states along with Border Patrol agents. It is actually the biggest single group i have seen in all of my trips to the border. It started off between three and 400, and you can see more and more of these migrants walk into the united states where they are going to be taken into Border Patrol custody and taken off to a processing center, but this group was much bigger before. They are still coming in from the rio grande. We will show you some of this video. It is from about an hour ago. Things were a little bit more hectic. They were opening the gates, letting Family Units through, but some of the single adult men wanted to come through, and they started shoving their way through. Nebraska State Troopers, Florida State troopers are all here manning this case, making sure people are not able to completely swarm through, but we have seen at least 200 migrants let into the united states and take it away on Border Patrol buses. This group has been processed in the last three hours or so, its getting incredibly hot out here, and this gate opens every now and then. They let some folks through. There is at least 100 people still waiting, and this is something we have been watching for the last couple of hours or so. Border patrol right now just does not have the capacity to take everybody. All their Processing Centers are full. They keep filling them up, but as you can see, more and more being let through this gate right here. They will be taken into Border Control Custody and eventually off to a processing center. What is going to happen to them remains unknown, but this is something we have been watching, just this nonstop flow of probably the biggest single group i have seen here. This individual who we announce the transfer of, have been started moving through during the obamabiden administration and was on pause for some period of time over the last four years. I dont have a timeline for you. As you know, there is a process. Different layers of the process, but that remains our goal, and we are exploring all available avenues. We and a few other outlets have reported that the administration, i believe members as they complete the steps to have their legal status in this country reviewed. Will there be other u. S. Military bases in the united states to house them temporarily . Secretary psaki well, first, any confirmation and final details of military Base Usage would be from the department of Defense And State department. Implementing these programs. I expect they will have more to share with you. I just want to defer to them, given it is their program. I will say that when i went through the program and how the process worked, one of the things i tried to note, that i will elevate again here, individuals who have completed the process, the Vetting And Security process, could be relocated to the united states. That would be certainly u. S. Military bases, and the Department Of Defense will assess how many of those and how many facilities they will need for those transfers. Do officials here wish that the texas democrats would have been more careful and take in more precautions like wearing masks on the plane here . Obviously, they were out there, trying to elevate the issue of an individuals right to vote. We have course of everybody abides by public health guidelines. That is what we certainly recommend, but they didnt know that the Vice President was tested. Collins calling for more transparency from china. We have him saying the same thing. Yet china says why dont you start looking into frozen food as a possible source of transmission. Again, the time to get boots on the ground and really look into the labs was at the beginning, but dr. Collins believes that there is still time, if we could get enough pressure to actually get in there. John Software Los Angeles County renewed the Mask Mandate for everyone, vaccinated or not, to wear masks indoors, now that they southern Health District in nevada has done the same thing, regarding people who come to Las Vegas, that would seem to fly in the face of both Cdc Guidance and what President Biden said. Listen. You know longer have to wear a mask. If theyve been vaccinated, obviously, according to public health guidance, they dont need to wear a mask. If you are vaccinated, you have a very high degree of protection. And therefore, you do not need to wear a mask. Spin on the present, press secretary, dr. Fauci saying you dont need to wear masks, but they say with the rising cases and slowing vaccine rates, the recommendation to wear masks and crowded public settings, including grocery stores, large events, is a step to fully utilize the tools we have available to stop the pandemic, but they are not following the science. Of the key here is the word mandate. It is going to backfire because people are going to resist. The science shows that if you are vaccinated, the chances of you getting covid19 is about one in 10,000. So, 60 in l. A. County, larger percentage in Las Vegas fully vaccinated. What is not going to mean to them . They are going to feel like theyre being punished. The end vaccinated should be wearing masks in close quarters, but that could also be something that is recommended, rather than mandated. John with this Delta Variant spreading across the country, we see it is affecting the Stock Market right now. How important is that for people to get vaccinated, and where can they get more information . I am pro vaccination. I want to be clear on that, but lets talk about the concerns about covid. You have the president who just, this morning, said that no serious economist thinks inflation is a problem. Come on. Its right in front of our eyes. That team he says just that the president is out of touch with what real americans are saying every time they go to the Gas Station and grocery store. Sandra he has been warning this White House, and we have seen reporting that they are wondering maybe he was right about this a while ago. We should have been watching a more closely. Robert, what are you concerned about . Youve got the Delta Variant rearing all over the globe right now. That is a major concern. Youve got the possible shutdowns at all of these companies that they have to worry about. Gets down to the consumer eventually. Much like the early days of the pandemic selloff, investors are feeling the sphere that we will be directly impacted by further restrictions or new restriction. People are fleeing to safety right now. You and i have been talking about it. I disagree with the fact that inflation is temporary or transitory. I am not surprised that President Biden agrees with the fed. I disagree. I think that the Supply Chain problems that we are having is real, and it is going to be prolonged. That boils off 10 in the last few weeks, but i still feel like there is inflation out there, and i hope we get our arms around it. I think that fed should be tapering. I am worried about the cyber hacking. And then lastly, we have to be concerned with the Delta Variant and those on vaccinated. Look at what is happening in florida. Look at what is happening in arkansas. Florida makes up 20 sandra we know that the vaccine is very effective against the Delta Variant. Why it is so great, knowing that if you do Get It, you would have very little symptoms because 50 is not vaccinated. Sandra this is the number of unfulfilled jobs, the impact that the pandemic has had on the job market. We have been cutting massive checks, and we have been seeing massive spending on the part of the government. 9. 2 million open jobs. Youve got not just politicians but economists that are pushing to extend to the extension of the federal unemployment benefits. 24 states are currently keeping those 300 employment benefits. Everyone else did away with them because they could not get people to shop for work. What worries me most is is Out Of Control Government Spending and debt. Wall street is finally catching on that these democrats are serious about another three and a half trillion dollars of debt on top of the spending that we did earlier, and the 4 Trillion budget on top of that. Right. A lot of these are coming from company disclosures, but some of them from other sources, and we do know this to be true. There are some organizations, good organizations out there, like the heritage foundation, that used to take money from big tech. They stopped. They rejected that money last year when it became apparent that the big Tech Companies were interfering in the election. We are also seeing them leading members of congress to try to stop taking money from these companies, but these are super powerful companies. Have a lot of Influence Peer Leadership on the committee. This gets into the area of Judicial Review and whether or not the court should have as much power as it currently holds. Jonathan, what do you think . Yeah, whats chilling about This Is It gives an insight into much of what is happening and legal academics. This is a very lopsided commission, and thats reflected by the witnesses that they have called. These are witnesses who are now challenging the very notion of Judicial Review. The touchstone of the Rule Of Law in the united states. And its the natural trajectory of where we have been going for years. That its all about the results now. Longstanding institutions traditionally are being jettisoned and cut adrift. And theres very little thought of what this country will look like without these Anchoring Institutions and values, like Judicial Review. But a couple of years ago, a Harvard Professor actually said the quiet part out loud, that we need to pack the court and make legislative changes. We dont have to worry about the republicans changing that because if we succeed, they will never win another election. It is that type of consequentialism, that type of shortsightedness that is so dangerous. John you know, one of the people who testified before this commission, he said the Supreme Court is an antidemocratic institution. But dont congress and State Legislatures need some sort of judicial check on the laws that they pass . Yeah, its designed to be antidemocratic in the sense that they are given Life Tenure so that they can say no, so that they can stand against congress and even the public and stand with the Rule Of Law. Whats interesting about the testimony of these professors is that many of them said i used to believe in Judicial Review, but i now realize that it doesnt work. Well, why . Its because the Supreme Court no longer agrees with them, so the solution is lets not have the supreme Court Review it. Some are suggesting an entirely different court so that these justices cannot make the decision or for congress to remove the court from its exercise in Judicial Review. The public will not stand for this, and thats why this is a crisis of leadership. President biden has to stop this nonsense and come out and say this is wrong. He knows thats wrong. But he cant wait for the convenience and the cover of this commission. He needs to lead, and he needs to say thats not going to happen on my watch. John we will see where all of this goes. You Cant Help but note that this discussion started once President Biden took over, and the democrats took over from the republicans, and the court is a 63 majority in favor of the conservatives.
