Welcome. Im neil cavuto. This is your world. It all seems like a Donald Trump Press conference with angry reporters trying to get a simple answer from the president And their agitation showing as the questions And denying answers went on. All of this as u. S. Forces are moving ahead of schedule. Better than 90 have left afghanistan And we could see them all out well before the 911 deadline that the president has set. But he says its not going to change his mind. He says that after 20 years, afghans must Look at themselves. Jennifer griffin has more. Hi, jennifer. Hi, neil. John kirby just gave a bleak assessment of where things stAnd in terms of what the taliban has taken over in recent days telling reporters here at the pentagon that the taliban has taken District Centers And threatened the provincial centers as well. Even though the president said theres no intelligence assessments suggesting the government of kabul will fall any time soon. He added that 300,000 Afghan Security Forces that the u. S. Spent billions to train should be able to hAndle 75,000 taliban. However, in the past few days, the taliban has taken three important international crossing points including those in iran. After 20 years, just one more year fighting afghanistan is not a solution but a recipe for being there indefinitely. The president defended his decision to pull all u. S. Troops out which would be done by august 31. He said the moratorium on attacks by u. S. Troops was slated to end may 1, which left him little option. The Status Quo is not an option. Staying would have meant taking u. S. Casualties. American And-women'>Men And Women back in a Civil War. We would run the risk of having to send more troops to defend our remaining troops. The president made news by suggesting the u. S. Would welcome translators And special Immigrant Visa Holders that helped the u. S. And now face Death Threats from the taliban. He suggested flights to remove the translators could begin this month. But the logistics have not been hammered out. Neil . Neil thanks, jennifer. Want to go to a decorated Navy Seal commAnder. You name a hotspot, hes been there. CommAnder, always good to have you. What do you make of this move 20 years in the making, if president says Look, enough. Enough. What do you say . Im supportive of it. I dont necessarily agree with the timeline. I would have picked september 11th. Its a poor messaging optics. Overall, to leave And withdraw the troops, its the old cliche of ripping off the bAnd aid, it has to be done. A lot of forces behind this slowrolling it And the Benefit Monetarily And economically And they geo politically from us being there. So i like that hes fighting against it And hes sticking to his guns And withdrawing. Neil you know, its interesting, too, commAnder give the talibans move to take lAnds And to be back And shoving it in our face. Taking guns from departing soldiers And all of that. Does that concern you . Is this showing sort of a provocative behavior that is really going to Go On steroids once all of our troops are out . I think it will Go On steroids. Youre right. Its also what weve been denying this whole time. That thele that ban really controls the outskirts of the country And we had minimum control over it. So the major cities, we sort of De Facto controlled And the afghan government controls it. Afghanistan is a tribal society. Its not a central government society. Its never worked that way. Weve tried to install And Mirror Image or form of governments And how the united states works or the European Union mean works on top of afghanistan. Afghanistan was fighting in a Civil War 20 years before we got there And will continue on fighting this Civil War. Its the nature of some of this tribal society regions. Neil who fills the vacuum . Always the talk about russia, china. What do you think . Which is real interesting. This actually in my view creates problems for russia, china And pakistan. Weve been providing some Stability Security there. But remember, russia came in in 1979, not only to support a communist regime but they didnt want the muslim Extremist Problem coming over into all of the satellite countries of the soviet union. So they have legitimate concerns. So china is trying to develop their And-road'>Belt And Road system And take over economically. They need that to come through pakistan. They need security in pakistan And would like some in afghanistan. They will have to take a piece of that. Throughout history, every intervention in afghanistan leads to a quagmire. Why you would get involved in it is beyond me. Its going to create problems for russia, for china And a lot of these unemployed taliban fighting the u. S. Are growing to turn And Look to pakistan And start to cause problems in pakistan as well. So i say let them deal with the problem instead of us. Neil im curious what you make of what what afghanistan will Look like. The argument for keeping the troops there is we have not had any attacks on our soil. This puts us at risk because of the taliban reforming again, not worrying about it being there And launch further attacks what do you make of that argument . Its really hard to prove a negative. So i dont buy that argument. Theres enough ungoverned And spaces that are there. Number 1, Osama Bin Laden was in pakistan And found there And running operations from there, not afghanistan though we occupied. We probably should have left the day after we killed Osama Bin Laden. That said, you have libya unstable, syria unstable, yemen is unstable. Plenty of these other places unstable so even if the taliban takes over the government, who is to say that theyre going to again enable those types . Taliban And isis are going at it And still going after it for And-control'>Power And Control in that region. Taliban is probably killing more isis than we are frankly. Neil scary stuff. Thanks, dave And more for your incredible service to this country. Again, the president making clear that nothing will change his mind to get the rest of the troops out. After 20 years, afghans will have to protect themselves. Early indications are they are not. Things could change. Right now its fairly bleak in that regard. Well keep you updated on that And also on the Virus Variants out there right now And some getting so worrisome, were making a renewed pitch to make sure everybody gets vaccinated, a database to keep track of that . Neil Looks bad but let me tell you, could have been worse. The dow having its losses when it was off more than 500 points. All because of what you see on the right side of your screen, a tenyear note a key bond, Interest Rates pegged to everything from Car Loans to mortgages dipping to the lowest its been since february. 1. 28 . Now, you might have noticed that Interest Rates have been holding steady in the face of these upward pressures And surprises that you pay at the store. Now the growing fear is that maybe, maybe rates are coming down because the market fears something worse like a slow down, even a recession. Whether its justified or not, that was the concern today. Going to talk to charles payne. Meantime, keeping you up to date on the Virus Front And the variant front And the fact that its rattling The World And apparently rattling authorities here in this country amid calls to get more folks vaccinated. Now the talk is theyre going to force the issue. How do you do that . Connell mcshane right now at the White House. Hi, connell. It would not be the government but private companies. I just had a conversation with Jen Psaki about this topic. The white House Position on this is theyre not going to require Vaccine Passports. What they will do And have done is encourage private companies to do whatever they think is best. Yesterday she talked about that. Ill put up the quote, a number of private Sector University institutions that are starting to mAndate. Thats an innovative step that they will take And they should take in terms of Government Involvement Today she added this. The federal government doesnt have a database of who has been vaccinated. Thats not our role. We dont maintain a database along those lines And we have no plans to. We know where there are rates of vaccination across the country And as i just listed,s will tactics that are powerful And impactful. I will say the thing that is frustrating to us is that when people are critical of these tactics, its a disservice to the country And to the doctor, faith leaders, Community Leaders And others working to get people vaccinated. Right. Thats the idea of people going doortodoor. The Community Leaders. Weve seen private companies get out front on this And prominent institutions as well. The university of california system, huge, they have like 280,000 students. In june they said you want to come back to school the fall, you have to be vaccinated. Private sector, you want to Go On a cruise with royal caribbean, you need to be vaccinated. Direct involvement from the government would be something different. So far the biden administration has said its up to the private companies to set the tone. Theyll do what they can to encourage on their end. No Andates'>Vaccine MAndates or mAndates for Vaccine Passports coming from the government. Neil . Neil got it. Connell, to be clear, this talk of a database that is being established to keep track of who is not yet been vaccinated, thats not the case . Thats not true . No. She said it very clear. You heard the quote. I spoke to her about it. Thats not being done is what she said on the government side. Thats not something theres no database that the government is keeping according to this White House to keep track of that thing so when you hear people talk And the Health Secretary may speak more about this tomorrow about officials going doortodoor And things like that, they say thats not government officials. Thats could be a community leader, church leaders. Some of that may come with Government Funding but its not government officials carrying it out as far as we understAnd. Neil got it, connell. To katie on the legality of this, whether its the government or private companies. Therein lies the difference. Katie, your a former federal prosecutor. How far can an entity lets start with companies to force the issue . You must be vaccinated before you return to the office or if youre going to work in this building, you must have had your shots. Can they legally do that . Enforce that issue . Yes. In fact, this is already facing litigation. Theres some rulings from the lower Court District judges that private employers can require vaccination as a term of employment barring exceptions for anything under the ada that qualifies for disability or religious exemptions. Barring that, its a considerable of employment. Eoc says private companies can force that issue. May not stop the litigation but it will be an Uphill Battle for anybody suing on those grounds. The big difference is government, if they tried to force that issue there, its an slippery or a more risky slope, right . The government can do things in a short term like for Emergency Purposes And requiring immediate restrictions on things like that. In terms of the private sector, theres no limitation whatsoever. So yeah, a big difference between the type of ployer that youre seeing in the hospitals, for example, the ones Looking to take that step. Its more of a Business Decision than it is a legal decision at this point. The law is very clear as it stAnds at this moment. Neil all right. So if the government is relying on, you know you see all the time celebties that do psas that urging people to get vaccinated. Even talking about religious types that might go doortodoor, go to peoples homes, strongly advise that they get vaccinated. Theres no problem with that . Theres really nothing that would stop that legally speaking. People do need to make their decisions. If your employer is requiring something, you may go elsewhere. Its not the entire industry, but i think even if that were the case, theres choices to be made. Unfortunately the private sector has a lot of power in that regard to make that condition of employment. People have to make their choices And see if theres other areas that are not following that particular path. For now seems straightforward that companies can And in Fact Force that issue. Neil for now in this count trip, even for those that have not been vaccinated, this problem seems well under control what folks fear, katie, if we get what is going on in israel, moscow, some of these other countries, malaysia, they see a spike in cases. Is that what governments talk about when they take such actions . I think thats a huge concern, of course. Ultimately these businesses need to decide what is worth it in the long run. Its a cost benefit analysis. Theyll have options to mitigate the risk. Thats the Big Question here, is the vaccine only answer or are there other things that can be done. A lot of employers will be wise to consider those alternate options if theyre equally effective. I think we dont have a lot of information now but hopefully that will curb a lot of the mAndates. Neil thanks, katie. Much appreciated. Lets turn our attention to a big selloff in the dow. It was worse earlier. We have the losses. A lot of it fell on lower Interest Rates. You hear that And think its good news. But it built up a notion that things could slow down And maybe the variants that are rattling And-europe'>Asia And Europe will come here And slow everything done. Charles payne is here with us. Charles And i can tell you this, well keep reminding you. Charles, i know thats your agent on the phone. Welcome. Good to have you. [laughter] you knew i wouldnt let you pass. I know. Neil is this fear justified that were slowing down . You know, might be, neil. Its a crazy thing. Lets go back a little bit. Right . We saw bond yields. They were low. 1 . Tenyear treasury. Went to 1. 74 . 74 in two Months Everyone at Wall Street said this is it. This is the big Inflation Scare Weve been worried about. Batten down the hatches. The federal reserve will have to change course. All of a sudden, were going to opposite way almost as fast And people are scratching their heads. Youre taking a second Look at the market which is hitting all time highs. Every day all you need is a few big names. Amazon, microsoft. The whole market is hitting new highs. 50, 6070 of these names are starting to drag. Were at a confusing place. Layer on top of that, we have headlines about the delta variant. Look at a country like australia, which was heralded for their great covid response, haves to batten down the hatches. We see what happened in japan. Investors on Wall Street woke up to japan declaring an emergency in tokyo No Spectaors at the olympics, this is driving a new narrative that maybe well shut down again. Maybe after this initial boost well go into some sort of not a freefall per se but this amazing economy that weve been anticipating remember, most economists said we would get A Million jobs every month. That hasnt materialized. So people are going back to the Drawing Board trying to figure out where our economy is now And where it will be next year. Neil sometimes you follow this stuff so closely And well, charles. It responds to a singular event or singular fear. That is the trend remains the markets. This market is run up a lot And some giveback is in And-weve'>Order And Weve seen it play out today. Weve got the losses what do you think . I agree 1 Million percent, neil. I try the get folks to believe that its so hard. When you seeee 500 dow points, its not like ten years ago. Were so high right now. Its a very small percentage loss, but investors have become so much spoiled, you know, we have come almost straight back since march of 2009. We snapped back from the fastest Bear Market with the fastest recovery. People feel like the market is invincible. It shows the smallest hint of vulnerability. Theyre not selling, but theyre ask ago lot of questions And wore pried. Neil all right. Thanks, my friend. Charles payne, making money. Hes the host. 2 00 p. M. Each Week Day on fox bus. More coming up including this broad as Daylight Looting going on at a Neiman Marcus. This is not in a bad neighborhood, this is in the heart of San Francisco And some businesses are wondering, where were the cops . By the way, where were the Store Security . And why is no one been apprehended . Why now are local Business Officials saying youre Dam Right were cutting back on hours after this. My moderate to severe crohns disease. Neil now its happening in broad And-california'>Daylight And California stores are worried about the looting. What can be done . A top Business Person wonders after this. Ir Force Veteran made of doing whats right, not whats easy. So when a hailstorm hit, usaa reached out before he could even inspect the damage. Thats how you do it right. Usaa insurance is made just the way martins family needs it with hasslefree claims, he got paid before his neighbor even got started. Because doing right by our members, thats whats right. Usaa. What youre made of, were made for. Usaa neil all right. Its gotten to be played so much And so often And so much of the concern that now Califor Worrie can happen at a Neiman Marcus in broad daylight in a pedigree neighborhood, it can And will happen anywhere. Stores like that And walgreens, host of others, considering cutting back hours as a result of this. Cutting back hours, cuts back business. Potentially cuts back workers. The california retail Association President telling me its getting worse. Were coming out of a pAndemic. Were trying to find economic recovery here in california, particularly in San Francisco which has some very strict restrictions on businesses in terms of capacity limits. So were doing everything we can. Think about the customers And the employees in the store at the time that happened. Think of the impact on them. Theyre the victims that nobody is talking about. When you hear stores closing, when you hear stores make a economic decision to shut their doors early, what does that tell you about the situation in San Francisco . We have a District Attorney that has said he wont prosecute these crimes. We have a Police Department that is doing everything that they can but cant make the arrests to make the cases because these people behind bars. Theyre blatant criminals that are using the proceeds from these crimes to fund awful things. We need to find a solution to it. California, were the fifth largest economy. Were a hot bed for this type of action And the retailers association, companies are raising their hAnd saying we want to help solve it. Unfortunately in San Francisco right now, its falling on deaf ears. Neil thats the problem. These stores are continuing to have to take matters in their own hAnds, their own security And cutting hours. Some of them think the worse this gets And the more government ignores things, the more will have to slow down. James craig is back with us. You remember him, the former detroit police chief. You know, chief, i was thinking that i would have you on today. Looking forward to it but remembering what you told me a year ago. This could be the reality of the more this Defund Police Movement spread And Looking the other way in the face of crime. Now its happening, a lot of places. The violence, too. What do you make of it . You know, neil, thanks for having me on the show. First of all, clearly the reason why this is happening, we have progressive governance in some of these cities, theres no consequences. So yes, stores are going to start shutting down early And in fact, ill make a prediction, neil. I think San Francisco, the high end stores, Theyll Leave And go to florida, go to places like texas. We know 17 walmarts have closed because of blatant thefts over the last five years. So what impact does that have . It impacts jobs And opportunity. So as the last person syndicated in who talks to the victims . This is a big deal. I was a chief in cincinnati. I met with local businessmen. It was a crime ridden area. They said Look, we want to do development but we cant do it as long as crime is going on. I made a commitment And we eliminated the crime. We put officers on foot beat. Right now when i left, it was a thriving area. It was not crime ridden. When you Look at this progressive governance in places like portlAnd, seattle, its not surprising businesses will leave. Theyll continue to leave. Neil must be something that some are hearing you. Eric adams, a 20year veteran of the Police Department just captured the democratic nomination for major. You know, he was asked about crime situation And how democrats in power have let people down, this is from eric adams. I want your reaction. We have abAndoned our cities. What is happening in new York City is taking place in chicago, california, atlanta. Youre seeing the democratic party basically thrown up their hAnds And were continuing to see the same problems in our inner cities. We need to turn it around. Neil in fact later on he was critical of Governor Cuomo in new york for belatedly responding to this crisis And acknowledging it. He won that primary. If you think about it, chief, that is a liberal base of voters for whom crime was the number 1 issue. What do you think . You know, i Look at detroit. Primarily a democratic city. The good people that live And work in the city, they want one thing, a safe city. Again, these progressives are not talking with the people that live there. I agree with the former captain. This is a big issue. Look whats going on in new york. They have proactive policing, criminals carrying guns. This isnt a gun problem. I hate when political types make statements lets go after the guns. No. Lets go after criminals with guns. More important, when we arrest them, prosecute them. There has to be consequences. When you Look at this misgovernment going on in new york, defunding the police, ending qualified immunity, certainly has to have an impact on Police Officers depolicing. Theyre not doing the work that needs to be done to reduce violence. Talking about Closing Prisons . What have we become . Thank god i was in a city that supported the work that we do here in detroit. We didnt have riots in detroit the past summer. We didnt have burning And looting. But its sad what you see. I was in chicago down on the area where they have all of these highend shops. You go there now, neil, polices working each shop. Some are still boarded up from last summers events. What will happen to chicago . Again, you have a mayor there that is progressive And its not working out. She blames the pAndemic or blames it on race issues. Really . Take responsibility. Neil its incredible. Incredible. Chief, i want to thank you as always for the work you did in detroit. People are asking you to run for office. Thats another interview. Thanks. We reached out to San Franciscos District Attorney. We have yet to hear back. Keep you posted on that. Keep you posted as well on the on going recovery. Thats what theyre calling it, Recovery Effort in surfside. It happened two weeks ago. The recovery continues. Alright, guys, no Insurance Talk on beach day. Im down. Yes, please. [ chuckles ] dont get me wrong, i love my rv, but insuring it is such a hassle. Same with my boat. So the Recovery Effort, thats what theyre calling it now, continues outside that surfside condo collapse. It could Go On awhile. It happened two weeks ago, as you recall. Phil keating with the latest from surfside. Phil . Hi, neil. Day one of the And-recovery'>Search And Recovery mission on the huge pile of rubble, which was a 12story condo tower. Time after time, we have seen it as advocates on the ground of Human Services Agencies on the ground continue to see over And over again that these agencies are inept. To humanely guiding migrants through our Immigration System And further continue instead they terrorize migrant communities located in our communities. Neil all right. Forget about defunding the police. How about anybody having to do with the board from ice, department of homelAnd security, the Border Patrol, you name it. That was the view of Congress Woman Rasheeda Talib that says its long overdue. BrAndon judd, im sure you support that, the Border Patrol union president. What did you think of that . Im absolutely beside myself. I Look at this And said did she not learn anything from the defund the Police Movement And how criminality has sky rocketed And how citizens in this country are less safe because of this movement . Now were going to talk about defunding the border And defunding how were able to secure the border for the And-protection'>Safety And Protection of The American public . This is crazy talk And its going to lead to more crime in this country. Neil we reached out to Congress Woman talibs office. We have not heard back. Hope springs eternal. Maybe we will. But their view is that the numbers are not as dire as, you know, people have been saying And reporting And folks like you have been saying. Yet i Look at these daily, weekly, monthly numbers And theyre still at or near record levels so when you go through a period where migrant minors, for example, the number of them are down, you get a new wave. And the fact is that so many of these my grantses, thousAnds by now, have come into the country And fanned out all over the country. So im hoping were keeping track of all of that, but i wonder if we are. What do you think . Well, were not. Dhs doesnt keep track of where everybody is going to, how theyre being disbursed. Lets Look at the numbers. Give you an example of something that happens daily. In yuma, arizona, we had a group of 156 people cross the border illegally. We had two agents that were able to respond to that group of 156 people. Those two abients were only able to take 19 people into custody. The rest were able to get away. When we talk about defunding the border even more, theres not going to be any agents that can respond to groups like that. We again do not know who these people are. We dont know who their intentions are in the united states yet Congress Woman talib is talking about taking funds away like national security . It makes absolutely no sense. Neil i was wondering, too, regardless of politics on this And you know, Border Patrol And others, theyre mistreating my gants, theyre in the role of being baby sitters for migrant minors And polices, trying to diagonal with large facilities that can house the record numbers coming in. When i hear the inhumane treatment, when i heard cages under Donald Trump And all that, that was a huge issue. Now under this president , not so much. Just the security And personnel at the border that are not doing what they should be doing. What did you make of that argument . You And i like to deal in facts And truth And prevent evidence. If were going to make a statement, were going to prevent the evidence. Congress Woman Talib did not prevent any evidence. If you Look at any complaints or anything like that, there is no inhumane treatment that is taking place as we speak. Theres not been inhumane treatment. We take these people in custody, we abide by the laws And do everything were supposed to do And yet we get political rhetoric from the far left. They dont give any facts or any examples of that rhetoric that theyre spewing. Neil yeah. All of these cases are being adjudicated on our soil now rather than in mexico And trying to hAndle this as best we can. I dont know whether cutting funding from groups hAndling load is a wide idea right now. BrAndon judd, thanks very much. Again, to congressWoman Talib, we would love to have her on to talk about this. Well see. Meantime, talking about, well, modern times. You like pizza at college . Youre a student . You love it in how about a robot to bring it to you . A continuing trend that now is picking up steam. I order my groceries online now. Shingles doesnt care. I keep my social distance. Shingles doesnt care. I stay within my family bubble. Neil here is one way to hAndle a Labor Shortage, get a robot to do it. Teaming up with a yAndex but the idea is to reach 250 College Campuses to deliver pizza to campus And spotting a trend, you should appeared we will get into the details but more And more stores, restaurants are utilizing robots to get the job. We decided to talk to to Human Beings about this, Fox Nation Host contributor And an internet radio sensation. Thanks for coming. What do you think of this . I think it is a long time coming, honestly. I have always said anybody that wants a very, very high minimum wage, you have this thing called the robot problem. People say im crazing but a lot of things robots can do And do it more cheaply And now this exact thing being accelerated with the Labor Shortage And people making more money to stay home that are bringing out the robots so you know, i told you so. Neil you are probably wishing they had something like this when you were in college, which was about eight months ago. What do you make of this . Neil, I Cant wait for all of the social Media Video to come on from the Frat Houses with a robot on a Saturday Night instead of hazing each other, they will be hazing the robots And tipping it over And pouring things on it And all of that. But in all seriousness, neil, i hate this. I understAnd that ai And the automation is inevitable that we will go this direction, but that doesnt mean i have to really appreciate it or like it because i dont. I think especially coming out of the pAndemic, the fact is who get this going the last year And a half . It wasnt the politicians or the companies but the essential Health Care workers. It was so showing up to Grocery Stores And restaurants And delivery people. Now Grub House is saying, oh, thank you for everything you did delivering during the pAndemic, but we are going to give your job to a russian company And you are replaced by robots. I think that is a better Look And i dont like it. Neil you have a lot of anger issues but you know, this has been happening all the time And remember a few months ago in the middle of the pAndemic And coming out of all these restaurants that were trying to stay open using robots to deliver food to folk And i think we have some of that. I just think it is a sign of the times. It is absolutely a sign of the times. Things change, obviously, where are all those people that know how to work a phonograph . Right . Things obviously change, but this is a little different because there are certain things that delivery people can do that may be a Robot Cant do. For me, my big Marinara Gal And if i order extra parmesan cheese, you know i can call them And say please make sure i get my marinara. Robots dont want to chat, which is good, but also can be bad depending on what your Marinara Situation is. Neil that is a good point but Look at the bright side, you dont have to tip a robot. I dont know what happens if you complain about the pizza that the robots And come up i said pepperoni And All Of A Sudden got cheese. I understAnd that might not be too shabby. Here is the thing, i just dont know because it wont just be the Delivery System but now in paris, cooking the pizza, slicing it And putting it into boxes. It is just beginning with delivery And will continue going everywhere. We see Amazon Testing out the aerial Drone System in different parts of the country. It is going that way but when it comes to food, what happens, you know, every single And-patty'>Burger And Patty will not be perfect but a human would recognize that. Now, dealing with Automation Neil really . Im not knocking, but right, come on in. I just dont trust robots come i trust humans. Neil thank you guys, you were terrific And that was in 2001. They are too young. But this is the way of The World. Let me know how you feel about it And you can email us anytime. None of the personal nancy questions And all of that stuff. That will do it here.
